Whats needed 2 get SMS event alert to work?

Ni Hao from China.
For some reason I'm having a problem with my WM6 flashed BA, and SMS event alerts (I did read something about this on the forum some times ago)
SMS'ses are received okay, but no sound alarm is given
As I do not really want to check my BA every 5 minutes to see if I received one, I would like to get the SMS alert to work.
I'm in China at the moment for work (and will be for some more days), and access to internet is kind of hard (and really slow) for me from here. Searching the forum is hard.
Anyone here who could point me to the needed files to get SMS alert working?

Yes thats what I have, but no sound is played! It's a "bug" in the ripped WM6 as far as I know.
There is a fix for this (some files, and reg settings).. Question is.. what files / reg settings are needed.

Try install Smiley SMS, it helps me.

Try this
Install HTC x button 1.5 or higher (ver 1.0 is installed by default)
After running the sms app goto xbutton settings and then set the sms program (Tmail.exe) to 'Exclusive' So that it stays running in the background.
I had this problem but after I did this it has been perfect.

No I did not try that version. I'm using the "Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)" one.

Okay. I was still on the 1.0 version, but managed to update to the 1.5 version.
Now I need to find a way to add "Messaging" Tmail.exe to the Exclusive list.
Running Tmail.exe, and going to X-button's Exlusive tab does not work (it's not showing anything in the list)

btw. I'm in KL (Kuala Lumpur) at the moment. Internet access is a bit better from the hotel, but will only be here for an other 4 days. Than back to China

Did you installed Helmi WM6_Soundfix.cab ?
There is in the Addon folder, in the Helmi WM6 ROM package.

Yes I did when I updated to wm6.
Anyway.. I've now installed "Smiley SMS", and after doing a soft reset, all is working fine now.

Hi, I just came across this post when trying to solve the same problem.
I installed Smiley SMS and it DID NOT solve the problem. Anyone else have any other ideas?

Perfect Bluetooth Manager for WM5/WM6

hi y'all, developers like me, who upgraded from WM2/WM3 to WM5/WM6, i know they surely miss the Bluetooth Manager, which is in WM2 & WM3, it's always been a full-fledged tool for everything, like creating BT Headset connection, BT Dial up network, BT File Transfer shortcut etc. It also tells you the speed of all active incoming & outgoing bluetooth connections. While in WM5/WM6, there are only few basic features of switching off/on bluetooth and changing its visibility.

This application will work both in WM5 and WM6, i got this application from FTP of this site(Thanks to Helmi), so felt like posting a link as well. Cheers...

Well, first of all , this has it's own thread . Just search for boradcomm / vidcomm bluetooth stack , and you will stumble upon it .
As far as I know , the forum paid $ 100 for a developer who ported this from the IPAQ operating system.
I installed it once ,on a previous WM6 edition , and it worked ( but see below ) , but i'm unable to get it to work with the more recent editions .
It does work , but there are several drawbacks .
1) Bluetooth light doesn't work any more .
2) Runs out of memory from time to time .
3) Not very well integrated into the OS .
etc , etc .
But never mind me , give it a try and post the results . ( PM me too ! ! ! )

hi mates, as requested by u, i m postin' some screenshots of this application. In the meanwhile, i discover'd one more function. When u turn the bluetooth on, and go to the traditional file explorer(the default one), if u right-click on any file, it will give u an option to send via bluetooth, the best part, there will be a drop-down menu, for the paired bluetooth devices, so that u don't need to make a search again.
And i agree with Dakshithaw, i myself mention'd that i got this app. listed in the FTP of this site, felt like posting a link. Bcuz a novice user wouldn't serarch for BROADCOM STACK, would try for bluetooth manager or something like this. Bluetooth light workin perfectly fine here, however it runs out of memory and fails to start sometimes(1 in 10 for me), so i reboot and work it out. It's well integrated in the OS, This bluetooth manager opens automatically when u click on the icon of bluetooth . It's actually worth using it, bcuz of its utilities, interface etc. Adieu..

Hi mate, initially, when i wuz postin' this application, i actually tried to upload it, in this thread itself. But it didn't work, it prompts "upload failed" i zipped it as well, but that didn't help either. So i gave up, and uploaded it to Rapidshare.
Just now, after seeing your reply, i tried to upload it again, no go. In fact, i discovered that i am unable to upload any file above 2MB. So, i have sent an e-mail to the webmaster, awaiting his reply..
You can either wait, or PM me your e-mail address, i ll mail it to you. The Rapidshare link is workin' fine, i tested it again.

Caused major problems with my bluetooth radio - in fact messed it up pretty bad... TomTom stopped working, uninstalled this and TT started working again...but BT radio seems irreparably damaged I can't pair up with my car anymore...plus I've lost all sound! Oh man, I'm having to do a hard-reset now...

I tried this on Hermes with WM6. I had it maybe couple of days installed and i didn`t use any bluetooth accessories with it. Today i tried to unistall this program and it caused a hard reset! After unistalling device reboots and after splash screen there was only white screen. Several soft resets or removing battery didn`t help. Hard reset solved this...

i found this bluetooth manager also on LG KS20

Sorry for the trouble, mates. In fact, i never felt like uninstalling it, nor do i have GPS, so didn't know the consequences. However, after readin' ur posts, i uninstalled it and faced it. The sounds went off, even mp3 files were comin' corrupt. Had to do a hard reset to resolve. But i ll have to install it back, b'cuz it works, as an utility for me. However, i ll just put a warning msg to take a prior backup.

Hey bro, i tried uploading it, didn't work. As i mentioned in the thread, i am unable to upload any file of more than 2 MB. I sent an email to the webmaster twice, no reply from them, THAT'S REALLY STRANGE.

this software is not work on pda2k(BA) and this messege displaied when we turn on the bluetooth: (BTTrayCE)
the bluetooth radio failed to run On due to insufficient driver memory avialable. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn On the bluetooth radio.
can u solve this problem.

Even i do get this msg sometimes, this happens when there are too many applications running in the background, already. Either close the idle applications, or do a Soft-reset. Try to run it after a soft reset, it would work.

Even after removing the soft, BT doesn't work anymore... May be must try an hard reset or flash again the phone.
Otherwise, the soft is in german language, where/how to modify/find the english version ?

it looks like the time and date only show in active status.
is the QVGA version has the same problem?

I think this homescreen is for 240x320 resolution because I just realized that I can not read the whole content of my Appointments. Hope correct version will be posted soon.
Also I am now having problems in uninstalling this from my phone. I tried using Settings in phone and also Add/Remove Program in ActiveSync but still no success. Can someone point me to the right direction?

if you want to unistall it,i think you might change the theme to another one,then unistall it.

I dont think its a bug, its a feature, the way it reappears does it in a "fade" fashion, anyway the time appears as fast as I press a key so no biggie there for me. This is originally for QVGA, but was resized for QQVGA (thx for the modifier!), unfortunately some elements were not properly converted like incoming mail and SMS preview going out of the box(or panel?), other than that its excellent, especially the WMP plugin showing an album art in the homescreen while playing. Cool!

Now your talking. I have reflashed my phone since I can not uninstall the previous version. This is more flawless.
1. The items does not overlap the Glass selection thing especially in the Appointment tab.
2. I finally can see the Right arrow in the Glass selection thing which was missing on the first version.
3. The time and date still disappears from time to time. Can anyone verify that?
Conclusion: Still perfect.

how can install this on a hp ipaq 514 wm6 176x220 . I Tried but it always says unsuccesful so i copied the the files manuely to the windows directory and the application data/home and made a reg cab with all the registy but the homescreen change but it was blank help

It will not work without new Confetti Core which is included in WM6.1 only

Still no result. I let it uninstall for about 15mins. Still it did not uninstall..

yeah , it happened to me , i rebooted uninstalling then it uninstalled

Still see timeout
Is it just me....I installed the CHome_2 and I still see the timeout problem.
Which is the better version?

Regarding my post above....I only get the timeout problem, where the time display disappears, when the display timeout occurs when the phone is locked!
Hope this helps fix it once and for all if it is a bug.

Excelent, the best ROM I ever use. Looks very nice no bugs until now - i use it 2 days - except that you cannot connect to Youtube, but i didnt connect before so for me is not a problem. The Dialer is an old one not very nice but it works very well

had problem with manila2d mail page, freezing while swiping through emails
worked out why, in the mail page it will freeze at some emails. its the size. its able to cope with headers but not with full emails of large size. checked it out in three roms. same emails in all, when deleted works perfectly.

No one has pb with audiomanager applicatoin and with music tab page of Touchflo ?
I dont have pb with V33, and since I migrated to V33F, I have this pb.
I want to know if it's specific to me and my sequence of installation, or not.
Edited: I found my pb: one of my mp3 folders was causing this pb. Don't know why, but as soon as I erase this folder, the pb disapear. It's not a question of limit reached because I added a lot of MP3 and it's still working. It's really this specific folder.

My Automapa don't work, program loading - stop. Soft reset.

I can't turn on or off wifi from CommManager.This option is there but it is light.I can see if it is on or off,but when I tap on it nothing happens.I must always switch it from settings.

install all the cab i uploaded to this message

wifi problem is very simple to solve, go into setting of commanager and manually start wifi, the next restart all will be ok
use advanced config for:
1 enable all energy saving for sd etc
2 set system cache
3 disable sd encryption
now it's all right!!!!!!!!

me too。audiomanager is work normal the first。but it isnt work now

This rom is quite buggy :
- the audiomanager sometimes works
- the camera doesn't work

Finaly working TCPMP for Polaris WM6.1 ROM. Thanks a lot
The problem is because CorePlayer don't play AC3 movies. Almost all new movies have AC3 sound.

Problems Opening e-mail (from HTC Sense)

Hi all, I have recently changed my HTC HD for an HTC HD2, but nearly immediately, still without adding any thirdy party program I am nearly systematically facing with the following problem
I am failing opening the received emails (using Microsoft Excange Server Setting) using HTC Sense (i.e. I mean by clicking on the e-mail).
The only way to read emails is then go to the email tab then select ALL from the left bottom corner and then press one of the email in the proposed list to read/open it. This is my actual configuration:
OS = 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82), Manila = 2.5.192116190, ROM = 1.48.408.1 (71294) ITA, ROM Date = 11/16/09,Radio = 2.05.51.05_2, Protocol = 15.28.50.07U.
Can someone help me ?

I am experiencing the -exact- same problem.
Going to the email tab and tapping on the envelope on the screen does nothing. I can see that it registers the tap, since the envelope 'bounces'. The email doesn't open up like it normally would though.
I have no clue why this keeps hitting me :S I have tried hard resetting 4 times, and it keeps happening.
Someone please provide some insight in to what is breaking in Sense when it comes to the 'open email' functionality.
OS: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)

ROM: 1.48.403.1 (71294) DAN
ROM Date: 11/20/09

This very bug has appeared with 1.48 ROMs...
Together with another bug: The lockscreen did not work unless you would force the device to lock using the soft button from the start menu.
Once done, the lockscreen bug plus the mail not opening bug magically disappeared, but I have not seen any thread so far with a clear explanation for the exact reason...

Well I don't know what this will do...but what ever it fixed the issue, I never had that issue with version 1.43 and I have updated ROM to 1.48...did that bring in that bug ?

Wow, it worked. Can't believe it was that simple. I guess this will be fixed by HTC in the next ROM update. Seems to be related to the autolock when you put the device in standby, which explains the randomness to some extent...

Hi guy, let me try then I was becoming crazy as I did several hard resets attempting to identify which (installed) programs may generate this issue, so installing one by one, resetting etc. but without effect. Suddenly the problem re-appears ... I will re-install everything and let you known accordingly. Anyway just for your info I have opened an official ticket on HTC website about this topic: they suggested me to reset, install latest hotfixes and the new ROM, that today seems to be disappeared from the site, but obviously they did not solve my issue yet :-(

Hi guys, I have terminated the re-installation of all my preferred software but this time, following tnyynt indications, before all I have installed the following CAB I found here: "Touch X autolock disable". As result, during the installation of each program and in the end once terminated the restoring of all my preferred applications it seems the problem does not occur anymore so apparently without the need to do the trick suggested by tnyynt. But you've obviously read the whole thread and therefore know how to fix the issue?

Just come across this issue a few days back, but with a twist -
Firstly the lock/unlock fix detailed on the previous page does not work for me, nor a soft reset. I am loathe to hard reset, since I am suffering none of the other issues many people are (sms etc).
As described on the previous page; on the email tab of HTC Sense the email does register the request to open, as it "bounces" when tapped, but will not open in poutlook.
I noticed it, but wrote it off as one of the many quirks of these phones, expecting all to be well in a few hours. But after almost a week I noticed I was not receiving mail at all. Wanting to check the settings, I opened Pocket Outlook via the start menu, and found that all of my mail accounts had disappeared! Leaving the default outlook demo account only. But I can still view and scroll through (but not open) existing mail via Sense.
I know I am going to have to HR, but I am curious to know if anyone else has suffered the issue, and if a trigger/solution has been found.

In the case of damaged Mail-Accounts u can try this Program before Hardresetting... Quite easy and works 100%

Thanks, never seen this program before. It worked, to a degree. It restored my folders to Poutlook, but the restored accounts have lost the connection settings (pop,smtp). I think that was user error though

I should have said, that this prog is mainly for making lost accounts visible again in order to delete them afterwards with the same prog (like in the case when they where visible in manila but not in outlook). Never tried to use a repaired account again (always deleted them and created a new one). But if you say, you only needed to reenter the connection-settings... nice to know that this works

same problem for me. I even tried hardreseting and reinstalling the rom witjout any succes. The lock Unlock suggestion doesn´t work for me. Any clue?

Go the following Key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Templates\IPM\Note]
Change the following value from:
"Read"="\\Windows\\HTC_read_note.htm"
TO:
"Read"="\\Windows\\read_note.htm"
change Compose to:
"Compose" = \\Windows\compose_note.htm"
And Is not working either.
Any clue???
