Hi there,
today I accidentally broke the touchscreen of my MDA Compact.
I am now doing an investigation for prices for Screen to repair the damn thing myself and prices for reparation.
It seems that it is very expensive.
Does someone know where to find cheap prices.
Maybe a cheap second handed screen could be found?
If it will be too expensive I will consider bying a S110 or 9090.
Do you agree?
Thanks!
Hello,
Welcome to the the club of people who need spare parts. In your case you might find somebody who sells you an new or used screen, but in all other cases in needing spare parts we are out of luck. It seems that HTC Europe and all most every repair service wount sell spare parts.
I have a friend in Asia who is looking for me if he can get some spare parts for me.
If not, than I have to buy somebodies dead magician and use it for spare parts. Maybe it's something for you in case you can get a new screen for an good price.
Well let me know if you want to sell your dead magician.
Good luck

I'm going through this as well, plus I need a new mainboard (a whole different story). I found a place that has a lot of parts, but am still waiting for a response from them. The site/email is [email protected]
If/when I hear back, i'll let you know.
NEED PARTS TOO!
Hey I also sent [email protected] an email about new parts...no word yet. I drop my phone everthing works but it looks like some from a war movie, and the side keyboard is broken. Let me know if you get word from then before me
hi
i got the full chasiss cover replacement for my XDA II on this website, I don't know if they have more availiable
http://www.siansmobiles.co.uk

hey everyone.
i got a himalaya for my dad (christmas) and the prev owner (darn him) installed a nokia speaker (old one must've broke) now he did a nasty job really messed it up. so i had a spare wallaby speaker tried to repair it but the damn fool ruined the plastic surround to solder this nokia one in. ran out of options so i have sacrificed my own himalaya speaker so dad actually has a working present. so now mine no longer has a speaker (joy!)
so i am appealing to you guys with your spare parts.
i need a replacement himalaya speaker (along with the black plastic surround that screws it to the cover).
i am more than happy to pay for it and shipping of course.
i would prefer UK offers (and the cheaper the better  )... however all offers will be gratefully considered.
thanks to anyone who can help in advance
ps if you know any retailers where i may also be able to get this its also welcomed
sorry guys but *BUMP*
this is a bit of a priority.
i hear of a lot of people with dead pda's...this is a chance to make some cash off of it.
Hi tim
have you tried Expansys.co.uk, as they do a wider range of xdaII repairs.
They repaired mine, and have had no problems.
ok all I am looking to sell a wing and a wizard the wing needs a touchscreen and the wizard needs the usb jack replaced so I am only selling them as parts even though they do work. I would like to get $95 for both however I will consider best offer or trades.
Thanks for looking,
Yonu
I take it that none is interested but will bump it up again
I purchased one of these as the housing i had was getting very messy

DONT BUY THIS KIT !!!
The item was listed as new but clearly most of the parts were used.
The biggest problem I had was with the front face plate.
There is a few gold "connectors" that have to be melted in the plastic.
I had to break these out of my old case and used a soldering iron to put them into the new faceplate.
There was also the gold screw holes! these were a real pain.
Again they needed to be broken from the old case and then gently heated with the iron until they melted into their respective hole.
Maybe this is what I should have expected but it would have been nice if they said a little fiddling was required for fitting.
The keyboard was also not as the picture is. It was a chinese keyboard so I just used my own.
All in all it worked out well and my phone looks spanking new but its not really a worthwhile mod given the cost and hastle.
I was also planning to buy that housing but had a second thought about the keyboard. my original keyboard is all black and doesnt have the white numpad.
thanx for the advice ! ill try to inquire from other seller.
how about this one?

A few days ago I received the same housing from the same vendor and is all ok. Mounting screw is settled and the exterior is not damaged.
Before ordering I contacted him and sent a picture of my phone. When he confirmed that everything (including keyboard) is identical, I ordered. I got the body and I get happy.
I think you had bad luck
Maybe its bad luck but eBay rules are pretty straight forward.
I was not sold what was listed in the pictured and it was not new (item had marks from use where case slides apart and also scratching.)
The keyboard was not the one in the picutes. I actually have a full black KB but wanted to go with the white panelled one in the pic.
What I got was a chinese all black KB. Useless to me.
Anyway, i got my phone rebuilt and its looks new and works great. It took a little more fiddling than I would have expected and the KB was wrong.
I left Neutral feedback for the vendor because I felt I got what I needed.
codejack:
sorry to say but it is really a bad luck. lets try to be careful with items like that and inquire every detail of the item we will buy. thanks for sharing pal
pozabi:
