Hi,
does someone know if there is a bug in windows media player?
Because with my t-mobil mda compact i could play wmv's with 320x240 350kByte/sec. Now with my O2 Tera i cant. It runs only with 3 fps.
( but with the core player i can play xvid files with the same sice and bit rate smoothly )
( But i can't use xvid files, because i have the best ever video recorder software on the world, that could record all my favoried movies and tv-shows, without any problems - it only works. And this program only generate wmv's )
Thanks

Is it possible to download codecs from the internet for your pocket pc just like your home pc, as some video files i have copied onto my xda ii will not play, if so what is the best site to get these from?
Thankyou, as always!
Whats file types are you using.
Pocket TV plays MPEG's very nicely.
Also try MVP for other types including XviD's.
You will have to Google for them as I don't have the adresses
I use this DivX player (Mpeg4), don't know if it works with WM player.
Is that the codec Bob?
Yes, it is.
I compressed .avi file using DivX ;-) MPEG4 Fast/Low-Motion with Hero Video Convert and was able to play it on my MDA
but having the codec will not make mediaplayer play anything but
ms's own formats plus mp3
to play anything else mediawise you need 3th party players
If you need to play divx you should try BetaPlayer at http://beta.topcat.hu/ , it's amazing how fast the decoding is, I can see no differences with a divx played on a PC (feeding it with a 320x240 movie of course)..
Yes BetaPlayer is pretty good : very stable with good decoding capabilities definitely the way to go to read Mpeg4 on your PPC
Hey
Does anyone know what codecs I need to play videos recorded with the TyTN camera on WMP on a PC?
I'm running Vista RC1 with WMP 11 but I had problems on XP anyway.
I currently have X Codec Pack installed, which contains XVid and DivX.
Cheers
Quicktime should play them back no problem?!
but what about playing quicktime files on the tytn?... pictpocket does not work... it fails to start... i have wm6 dutty v.2...
hi guys i have a mda compact II and was wondering what formats media player supports as all my vids i throw at it are unsupported (and there avi) tcmp works ok ish but seems to be lag in video anyone know the best settlings for TCMP on this device
thanks in advance
AVI is just a container for various codecs, and WM10 can only handle a few (no XViD for instance).
Concerning TCMP, I guess the resolution of your video clips is just too high and the CPU cannot handle it.
cheers mate yeah it can handle none atall really lol (time to download super video converter again lol) also what is best res for my type of mda in tcmp ? as my treo 650 handles them all with no lag
Hi,
I've installed divx player mobile. When I play a movie file I do'nt have any sound, just the picture. The audio codec is
mpeg 1 or 2 Audio layer 3 (mp3)
channels: 2
sample rate: 48.000 Hz
Bitrate 124 kbps
Is this audio codec not supported? Is there a way to install different codecs? Is there a better video player for divx/xvid files?
Thank you for your help.
use CorePlayer
Coreplayer seems to be an great application. But it costs $30. Is there any freeware? Or is there a way to get divx player to work?

Thank you, I will try that player
Same problem
Hello,
i have the same problem with my girlfriend HTC Touch 3g. Any soulution, to play sounds with DivX Mobile Player?
Thanks gingo
no codec
I have the coreplayer, and when I try to play the .avi file it gives me an error box saying that it needs an AC-3 codec wich is not supported by the player(the same happens in DivX). Is there a way to download the codec, or do you guys recommend another player?
Hallo, I have the same problem with divx player on my HD2. No sound when playing avi files. I have TCPMP installed on there is error: Unexpected program failure. Please send "crash.txt" to the developers. Programm will now exit.
I don't know what to do now.
Previously I had Samsung I780 with WM 6.5 Pro and divix player was working fine. What can be wrobg with this one. The same software as my previous phone but not working.
Hello folks,
If I did something wrong I excuse ... but I cannot explain this to me.
I tried to convert my videos to H.264 which did not work out as expected. (no picture - just the sound) see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456367
Then just out of fun I tried the MPEG4-ASP (Xvid4) codec - to test this with a different player, but:
XVID: 320x240 - 400 bit
640x480 400 bit
640x360 1008 bit
640x480 1008 bit
640x360 800bit
are running inside Microsoft Media Player and from the Xperia Media Panel.
The 1008bit are not running smooth, but the 800bit does as I think.
Anybody can explain why this is working?

just download the divx mobile player for free and use it ...
it can play my xvid avi files with ease on my X1
No you got that wrong, xperia x1 microsoft media player is playing the xvid files. Now tested it with an XVID 640x360 at 800 bit, looking very good.
