I have o2 atom and it is not charging at all. When i remove the battery and put it on charging it show the red light of charging and when I turn it on again in actual it has not charged 1% also. When the atom is in on position and I try to charge it then also it does not charge a single percent.
Now the phone is completely dead and if i want to use it I have to charge the battery in a different instrument and put in my device.
The repairing person tells me that there are 14 tracks that are used for charging and activesync which are not responding and that the part has to be changed. I doubt this guy. He says that the part is not available and that he is doing some alteration to charge the battery directly and he says it will not show the red light for charging but the battery will charge in 20 minutes and I should not keep charging for more than 20 minutes as it may be harmful.
Can somebody please help urgently. Should i allow him to do this alteration ? Any other ideas please.
I would not let him do that, no. The easiest and cheapest way for you may be to buy a standalone charger from eBay (desktop charger) with an extra battery, so you use one battery and charge the other. What he's suggesting will of course kill your warranty, and I would fear that it would kill the Atom as well!
Help
My device is also not syncing with my pc. Should i try hard reset. I am asking this because i am worried it might be dead after that .

Is there a wizard who can find a solution for my wizard !! I bought it one week ago now i have got black screen with no ability to turn the phone on and also no ability to soft or hard reset everything is dead and there s no battery charge ability. Any solution to slve it Please HELP ME !!!
Are you trying to charge the battery from the computers usb (or a 3'rd party usb wall adapter?) if so, this will not charge a completely dead battery. Try plugging it in to the usb wall charger that came with the device. This may help to charge the battery. Let me know if it works, or if you have any other questions....
You may need external charging
Charging of these batteries is controled by in-built circuit, so when it is discharged extremely low, it is very difficult to start charging.
Try leaving on charge for several hours or days and see if it starts charging. If it fails and you have no option to return it or buy replacement immediately, you may try to locate the polarity and use an external charger of same spec as reccommended for a few minutes and then continue charging in the wizard.
Someone did it here on the forum. You may want to search

Hello,
I bought a second hand Qtek 2020. The seller didn't have a cradle, but he gave me a USB sync/charge cable and a AC plug with USB slot. So I insert the one end of the cable to the PDA, one end to the plug and I recharge.
The device came with 90% charge and I could easily charge it to 100%. Today, I ran it down to 0% and now I can't recharge it!! Every time I turn the device off and plug everything in, it starts to recharge. The led on top shows red. It charges for about a minute and the device wakes up. The red light turns yellow. It says on the screen that the device is still charging but the meter is stuck at 0%!!!
I've been trying for hours but I can't even get to 1%. Maybe it would be better if I had a cradle but that's not an option now. Besides, it recharged beatifully yesterday.
I have a feeling that if I can stop the device from waking up automatically when charging, I can recharge fully, but I don't know how.
Any help will be very appreciated.
Update
Here's a quick update. It's gone from bad to worse. Now I only have a blinking red light and the device doesn't come on at all!!
Any advice please?
Have you made sure that the plug is connected tightly to the PPC? If the charge isn't being held, then the battery might be the culprit.
li-ion batts have a limited number of times it can be recharged before it's lifespan is over
maybe your batt's time is up ?
Follow-up
OK. I bought a new battery and everything works fine now. So if you're having a similar situation, a new battery may solve your problem too.
same problem
I had the same problem as you. When the battery was on 30% to 90% it could be easily charged via USB from PC or via usb adapter. Once the battery fall under appr. 20% I was unable to charge it. I wanted to throw to the garbage. I have done many upgrades many resets. While the qtek was without any software (nothing was installed on it) tha battery successfully charged. So used the qtek as ussual and tried to charge it before 20%. BUt now it fall again under 20% and it's happening the same, I can't charge it. The other strange think is, that I have tried 5 computers with USB.1 and USB.2 but is didn't help. Only one computer can charget from 0% to 100% and this one is in my work.. very strange and don't know what couse this... Normaly the battery holds power for two and half days, so don't wan't to buy new one now. If anyone has any explanation why it can be charge only with "one computer" or what can that couse, I really appreciate it.
Thank you
I've left my JAMin for a month and now I can not turn it on.Any ideas? Why the battery is not charging? I think I'm going insane Do I have to buy a new battery? PLEASE HELP ME
If you are trying to charge using usb from computer or other source it probably won't revive a really discharged phone.
Instead you need to use the wall charger, leave it plugged in overnight then check the phone out.

Batt Charging is controlled by the OS/ROM, so if the batt is completely dead the phone in all probability not charge it.
You may not need to buy a new Batt if you can find a seperate batt. charging unit....
Else, a new batterry.
10x guys.I hope I will charge it today Hope dies last
happen to me before, if you can't charge it up, you either have buy a standalone battery charger from ebay or just postive & negative to boose a charge into the battery (for pros only)
This may seem like a funny question...
But would there happen to be any chargers JUST for the battery? I have a feeling that the usb port in the phone is broken, and I just purchased a new battery. So, I would have no way to charger the battery, nor use the phone...therefore if I could find a battery charger I would be all set. OR, are there any broken/cheap mda's out there that only function to charge the battery(i.e broken screen/speaker/etc)
What do you mean you have a feeling the USB port is broken? You should know this when it's time for a charge. If your device is stll under warranty, try to get a replacement. Since the 8125 is no longer available, you may be able to get a 8525. The same thing happened to me, and I got a replacement after talking to a Cingular rep.

I'm assuming you have a 8125 since this is the Wizard forum, and you did not state what type of device in your thread...
Yes, there are chargers that you can get just for the battery, just check out ebay and I'm sure you'll find a few of them. You might also try your local phone store if it's a decent one that carrys lots of accessories, you might be able to find one there.
I have a tmobile MDA. The phone is out of warranty, and therefore I can't get a replacement. Unless I want to pay for it. The phone is completely dead, to the point where it will no longer turn on. I have read that once the battery is below a critical level, it will no longer accept a charge. I've also read that I would have to give it a small boost via a cut USB cord, to get it above that critical level.
I'm assuming the usb port is dead due to the fact that the orange light no longer turns on. This could be due to the battery being so low, OR the usb port is defective and not accepting a charge.
I'll certainly check ebay for a battery charger. Anything specific I should look for?

Based on what you're saying here, a battery only charger won't help. Where if you can remember did you read that a battery can't be recharged after reaching a critical level? I have read where it's good to periodically drain the battery for extended battery life. The orange light is just the charging indicator, and the battery itself has nothing to do with it. You can plug in the charging port without a battery, and a working device wil show an orange charging light. Your charging port has lost connection inside. Did you drop or abuse your device? Either stock up on batteries, get another device, or have the one you have now repaired.
I'll look and see if I can't find one on there for you and post a link. If I remember right, just searching for t-mobile mda should get you a few of them although you may have to search through a few pages to find one.
Here's one that I just found that has both a sync charger and a spare battery charger(what you're looking for) - http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-AC-BATTERY-...yZ146435QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I know I've seen them that are just a spare battery charger without the sync and they were a lot cheaper but I didn't see any of them listed. I only went through a couple of pages though so I'm sure if you look a little harder than I did you can find them.
I found one on ebay. But I was able to jump start the battery w/ a cut USB cord, and now it's working fine.
Oh, I just read your post saying that your battery was completely dead. I can help you fix that one without cutting up a charger. All you need is a 9v battery and a couple of wires (wire bread ties will work if you don't have any wire handy).
Remove your battery from your phone and connect the 9v battery to it + to + and - to - for 10 seconds, disconnect it for 30 seconds and then repeat the process for a total of 10 times (connect fo 10 secs, disconnect for 30 secs). Then put the battery back in the phone and connect it to the charger again and charge it until it's full and then you should be good after that.

This method worked for me last week, I had the exact same issue and found the same fix somewhere on this forum, Great advice!
I have a MDA that had it's battery die durring a reflash. Yes I know me=dumbass. I have since jumpstarted the battery and the phone will boot to the recovery screen.
This is a phone I got off craigslist cheep for my son...to break him into the winmo cell phones. I know I could just buy another battery but I really dont want to throw more money into this. Plus the wife is pissed that I may have bought a junk phone.
Unfortunatly I am unable to charge the battery enough to complete a full reflash without the battery running out of juice.
If a phone has no "OS" installed on it, will it still be able to recharge a battery? If it has no drivers...will it know it has a recharging circuit?
I am trying to charge the batt unsing the usb cable and taping the red/black to +/- respectively. Will thgis eventually charge the batt? Or are the charge points different than the +/- as marked on the battery?
Any help is apreciated.
Yes, I think what you've done will eventually charge the battery.
It may take while since USB is only 500mA.
Does the charge indicator illuminate orange when you plug in the phone? If so, that means it is charging the battery.
I'm not sure if it will charge with no OS or not. Sometimes a weak (~800mA) charger requires the phone to be able to boot before it will charge. Phones that are more dead usually require the OEM 1200mA charger.
ur mobile will charge without an OS...the Orange Led should glow even if the phone is switched off...but charging thru USB may be inadequate...use wall charger....
