Loose Sliding Keyboard FIX for Hermes/Dopod 838 Pro - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I just posted a easy fix for the loose sliding keyboard for the Dopod 838 Pro/ Hermes at my Blog.
Loose Slider Fix
My slider was ok for a month then I dropped it once and since then it has been a bit loose. Not very loose, but just annoyingly so.

Place the clear scotch tape on both sides of the rails denoted by the yellow boxes. The idea is to let the tape secure evenly and snugly into the sides of the rails.

THANKS FOR THIS
I was dreading having to take it apart

Seen this fix before, but thanks for posting it again. My keyboard isnt too loose yet, but I will keep this in mind for the future

thank you.

thanks, nice easy fix! I definately prefer the slide not to be loose at all.

Modded Rhinoskin case

I bought a rhinoskin a while ago, but just didnt like the size of the thumb opening. Also, the small slit over the screen didnt allow you to see the all the important info.
This is what it was like.

However, like I said, didn't like the buttons. So I brought out my trusty dremmel and started making a mess.
Once a little wet sanding was conducted afterward, I decided I needed to dry it off, quick. So what better than to put it in the oven. However, I forgot it was in there. By the time I got it out, the neoprene foam was sitting on the bottom of the oven.
No real problem, it was still sticky, so I got some foam at a hobby store, and cut it to size, making just enough space for my WIFI card. Then only a little paint and clear coat, and you get what you see below.

Problem with Athena Standard Leather Case

If I use the standard leather case that comes with Athena then this little call info screen that tells us who is calling (when Athena is close) is useless.....isn't it?

If I don't use this leather case then there is 50% chance that I will drop the screen from the key board...Its risky...
Is there any other way that we can use this little call info screen while having the leather case on Athena?
Thanks in advance.
The only way I can see this as being possible is if you use an extremely sharp knife (scalpel blade) to cut out a panel on the case. You would then need to re-stitch the edges (or get a good tailor/tailoress to 'finish' it for you).
It's possible, but I'd try it with a cheap replacement case first (of which I have yet to see any available).

Loose screen on universal. Possible fix?

Hey...
My Universal screen has gotten a little loose. When it is open it is a little wobbly . It aint much but it bothers me! First i thought i could fix it by tightning the little screw on the LCD's foot but that didnt seem to help. Now i have taken the device apart and sits now with the screen mechanism in my hands. If you look at the attached picture you'll see what iam talking about.

I think that this is the mechanism wich is loose. The part which is placed in the call/end call cover is tight enough, but the other part which is placed in the end cover (the one with the LED) is a little loose. Maybe a little glue can fix it? Or is there a better thing i can use than glue?
I have had a universal before and found out that this seems to be a common problem. What have you guys done to fix this?

[Q] Screen replacement

Hey everyone,
I've ordered a defy screen digitizer, 2mm adhesive strip and a torx screwdriver set from Amazon, and they should be delivered this thursday.
Does anyone know of a GOOD quality guide (video or pictures please) for dismantling then re-assembling a Motorola Defy?
Preferably one for replacing the screen too..
I really don't want to mess this up
Thank you all so much, you've been a great help for the life of my device
For anyone interested, I've thrown my phone down a street and it was fine, then the moment I fall over at a house party - SMASH... Screen wrecked Not the LCD, just the gorilla glass
Sorted it, I just sort of guessed I apologise for the terrible quality webcam.

Has anyone Found a back cover for this device ?

I got one of these..
I yet can't find a back cover for this.
Only thing i have found are stupid pouches.
If anyone comes across a back cover please post a link, cause the back looks made of very soft plastic one drop and it will get scratched.
Thank you
Backcase found it!!! not quite sure its worth it
Amzer-Pudding-TPU-Case-Black in fommy site
I found a compatible cover.
This is for the micromax A1 ( the other Android One phone we have).
Works perfect though the camera hole look's funny.
It's a Bit Covered but functionality is not hindered
