Even if you could send the screen display from your tytn to the one is your car...
Is the screen in your car a touch screen?
If so, what cable do you think you could use to connect THAT interface to your TYTN.
Why wouldn't you use your Tytn and run tomtom on that?
I launch TomTom on my Tytn and I want to display it on my car video system because the screen is more large than Tytn !
I personally think that the answer is about the same as the GPS-sollution on the Hermes. Even if there is a cable that would have a video-jack on the other side, you'll need some prorgam or drivers that would send the video to mini-usb port.

The connector is a standard mini-usb port:
it has only four pins +V USB+ USB- GND.
It does not carry serial port signals.
Could you use wireless instead?
V
yup, you can sync via wireless or over bluetooth....
Bluetooth might be a problem if he's got no usb. But he might be able to get a usb pcmciacard or bluetooth or wireless card.
V
You could add USB ports to your laptop pretty cheaply.
eg http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3V5S is £14 and has firewire too. (by the looks of it, the description is somewhat lacking!)

Can I use any standard USB cable for syncronizing the Blackstone with my PC?

The connector in the Touch HD is a ext-USB but it's compatible with standard mini usb cables (and with my old HTC Universal Car charger and home charger). So you can use any mini usb cables you have (for ex. those usually used for cameras)
The ext-USB standard is required for special headsets like those where you have a minidisplay and buttons for track changing, skip, etc.....
At the moment I don't know if other devices that use ext-USB have been released.
Have fun
Yes the Touch will accept any USB cable, however dont think that the lead provided will work the other way as it does not. Its squared off and will not fit my N95, PSP or any other of the gadgets sitting around
Hi there.
I have a question. with the oem adapter that has miniUSB, i can connect any universal miniUSB to RCA cable and it will work, am i right?
No you will need the HTC Cables. The HTC connector is different from standard mino USB adapter since it has extra pins ( 11-pins to be exact).
Yes, but i was thinking about conecting an adapter to make the HTC usb to standard miniUSB and then connect a universal miniUSB to RCA cable.
Is it possible?

There is a thread around here somewhere about modifying one by grinding down a portion of the third connecting ring on the mini-plug. I´ve tried it and it seems to work fine, but you have to turn the plug to properly orient the missing area so that the phone does not recognize it as a headset.
I found on Ebay, It's about $18.
Hiya,
You'll all probably know that on the TouchPro, the HTC mini-USB jack allows headphones to be connected (via adaptor), as well as a 'remote' which answers/ends calls...
...which is excellent, because I was able to develop my own wired connection to my CK-7W car kit.
I would like to do the same for my SEX1, particularly given the unreliable nature of the bluetooth.
Q: Is the mini-USB port configurable to give audio-out, and potentially answer/end calls?
Kind regards,
Oms.

It should be, you can get usb headphones, with a talkbutton, that use a standard mini usb fitting.
the audio for the X1 goes to the 3.5mm jack? There is an answer button on the supplied cable.
I thought the USB port was only for USB and power - am I wrong?
I'm not sure most HTC phone have audio out by USB and Mobile fun has
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A200
HTC TyTN/MDA Vario II 3-in-1 USB Adapter
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A300
in the X1 area,
but can't find anything on the net saying it will work
I really want it to work so i only need to plug one cable in when its in the car phone and audio.
I would love to know if some one has tried them.
I'll let you knoe if i get one
I tried it with my Moto L7 USB headset. Nothing happens.
Sorry
I wish it would work too...
htc devices use the extUSB connector and use the extre pins not in normal miniUSB for these features
pins the normal miniUSB connecter the x1 uses don't have so it can't be don
x1 don't support usbHost so the miniUSb connector only have 2 functions
being connected to an usbHost like a computer
and charging no other functionality is possible for a device which
don't support usbHost
Hi Oms,
I've just came across your post about the wired connection you made from Touch Pro to ck-7w. I would like to make a similar setup for my Touch Diamond2. Could you please post your findings on this matter and connections details?
i found that with a cab, the audio dongle, and an ipod/camcorder cable you can connect your device to an external monitor. Its been said to work with the touch pro and the Fuze, but for some reason I only get audio when i plug the correct cables in and run the cab....any suggestions...i have an ipod video cable and an camcrder video cable

-Your answer (ie, use the right cable for the job ) is already in the 'Accessories' forum

The link on that page isnt in english though

since the manufacturer did not have to abide by any iso standards for this proprietary tvout, they can cross the a/v cables any way they wish. It just turns out they went the Apple way, and so the iphone's 3.5mm av cable will work perfectly ($4-5 on amazon).
alternately, if you have the standard 3.5mm camcorder cable, you'll have to switch the colors of the rca plug order, works just fine on the Fuze. Plug in Red to Yellow input, the Yellow to the White input, the White to the Red input. From this Fuze post:

dont buy an ipod cable if you have a regular camcorder cable it will also work! then u can have Tv out for $0.
only thing you have to do is use the adapter that came with the Fuze plug in the cable to it and then instead of pluging in the Yellow to the Yellow and so on, you plug in Red to Yellow input, the Yellow to the White input, the White to the Red input.
=) tada.
also don't forget to download the EnableTvout.cab
you will need it.
Let me know if this works for anyone elso, it def. worked for me

Not able to...
I have a zune av cable that is identical to the ipod ones and it will not output video on my TP2 but it will do audio. i tried switching around the cables to see if it was outputing on the wrong color but it isnt. i downloaded the cab and from the programs it seems to be working but in reality it isnt doing anything other than audio. Any ideas on how to fix this other than getting the real htc cable?
same problem
i have an Ipod video out cable, and all i get is audio, even when i switch the wires around....heres the cable I have http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...cable&lp=3&type=product&cp=1&id=1134703394661

Your Doing it WRONG!!
Please Explain
please explain to me what it is that I am doing wrong
are you using the Ext-USB converter? and plugging the 3.5mm AV cable to it?
sure am...im using the audio dongle thing that came with it and the cable posted in the link above + the cab file
Why go to all the hassle, just buy a TV out cable. Mine cost about £15 which is nothing. It's a fairly simple cable with Video on pin 6 & Video Screen on pin 8. Audio is on 7 & 11 with screen on 5 and 10. The only hassle I have now is antenna for the radio, pin 9. With this pin connected the Rhodium assumes a headset is plugged in and disables TV Out.

Ya have the real deal coming in a few days. Wasnt worth waiting for a potential cab that would work.
I have a differnet question... I have the usb to rca video and 2 rca audio outputs.
When I plug it in it disables the internal speaker and I can not figure out how to get it working without unpluging the a/v cable but I do not want too..
I want to use the T2 with a 3com mini projector and use the speaker in the phone with it.. Anyway to do this, or is there a Video only cable, I looked and did not see on.
