is there a software that will display my actually clocked speed?
try batterystatus, enable processor speed shown on today screen in the options.

Hi
Does anyone use a MHz management/modification tool like XCPUScalar or PocketHackMaster? How does it work on the Magician? Which one do you suggest and what are the best settings and highest MHz you can have (stable naturally).
i'm using XCPUScalar v.2.87, but actually i use that for down the clock speed for saving more battery, it seem so stable from v.2.87 or later for O2 mini
Well doesnt the new xscale generation pxa 27x (like in the magician) do that automatically. From what I know they not only reduce the freq MHz (like XCPUScalar does) but also reduce the voltage of the CPU. Using XCPUScalar or similar tools may lower the MHz but not the voltage (they cant do that right now) so you will save more battery when not using that tools and rely on the internal speedstep of the CPU. For downclocking those tools are useless atm as internal processes do that way faster and better (because the lower the voltage too and save additional battery because of that). The only use is overclocking atm.
I've XCPUScalar on my S110 and only run it when I need more power and it will step up from 416Mhz to 520MHz and gives a nice speed boost (shortened batterly lifetime naturally). When I dont need that extra juice I leave XCPUScalar completely off because it cannot compete with the internal speedstep
You will alway burn more battery even with a clocked down CPU when you run XCPUScalar because the higher voltage those tools cannot control eats up the savings of lower MHz.
I just wanted to know what tool is best for overclocking. With XCPUScalar you can have 520MHz on the magician, lots of ppl say with PocketHackMaster you can have 600MHz stable.
By the way, you should intall 2.88 - way more stable on a magician.
I was wondering who had their hw6915 overclocked (and to what speed)
I am wondering because i feel sometimes that the device is just a tad too slow
XCPUScaler
I have a 6915 and use the Advanced Speed Settings to take it from 208Mhz when idle to 520Mhz between 71 -100% usage. Had it for about a year now and still fine with no problems with stability or reliability

Hi, can you give us your exact speed settings? I am very interested on testing this.
Thank you in advance.
I made the pda to 520mhz all the time, and my pda freezes from time to time, like 3 times a day when running it 520 full time... so i put it back to 412 and using it on that settings...
P.
Speed Settings
Here are the Settings I use with no freezing at all:
CPU Load Speed Setting
15% 208Mhz
40% 312Mhz
70% 416Mhz
71-100% 520Mhz
These were setup on the advanced tab, my default speed setting is 416Mhz on the speed tab but with "Auto Scale with CPU Load" enabled this becomes irrelevant.
Have fun
use the HR INSTALTION i gave on more tips 6900 thread and you will see things going fast

I use the same settings except that I have it to 624 MHz at >71%. Never had a problem at that setting and have used it for a very long time. The thing I appreciate also is the scaling ability seems to make the battery last longer.
Wow. This is an old thread, but there might be people still in love with their Sable like I am.
hi i am relatively new in wm6 and pdas but i am trying my best
is there a way to reduse cpu speed so u can save power ???
Battery status, you can use it to under clock or over clock your phone.
If I set the min cpu speed to the minimum (245MHz) using SetCPU and then refresh the CPU monitor, it's always at Max (998MHz).
However if I set the min to 384MHz and refresh, it's at 384 (unless something else is going on in the background in which case it might increase a bit).
This is all with the CPU governor set to on-demand
If I set MAX cpu to 245 then the monitor says it's 254, btw, so it seems it can run at that speed fine and the monitor is working ok apparently. It's just with min speed set to 254, it seem to stick at 998Mhz.
Does anyone else see this behaviour?
It this just a problem with SetCPU, or an underlying issue?
well, having played around with it some more, it seems it's actually the cpu speeding itself up so rapidly when monitoring it that it registers max MHz!
If I increase the up threshold, or the sampling rate, so that it doesn't step up a gear so quickly, then the monitor reads 245MHz.
This does raise the question though that if simply pressing the refresh button is enough to up the cpu to max when it's at the default settings, maybe there are better settings for battery life?
Maybe a slightly higher minimum speed is better, so that it doesn't step up all the time (because when it does, it seems to go straight to max).....

Low energy efficiency. Redmi 3/Pro/S/X and other

6 from 8 working cores not sleep in the low activity mode. When the screen is turned on, but no heavy applications are running. For example reading or viewing browser. Why? Look at the screenshot program CPU-Z is open on your phone, you'll see that active 6 from 8 cores workers. (Sometimes 8 from 8) It's drain battery.
Is it possible to leave one core from the cluster performance and and reduce it minimum frequency? Up to 200-400 Mhz? (other make "stopped" and lauch them when it needed) )
Could you also disable a couple of cores non-productive clusters and reduce their minimum frequency? (200-400 Mhz) (other make "stopped" and lauch them when it needed) )
GPU Clock Speed why high frequency GPU (375 Mhz) in the low activity mode. (When the screen is turned on, but no heavy applications are running.) Could you reduce GPU frequency? (Up to 50-375 Mhz) Make scaling from loads.

I know exist patch on Twrp which gives opportunity to powersave. But i want it in official Miui stable as a default.
Please confirm and write on Miui forum what you think about energy efficiency. Redmi 3/Pro/S/X and other
Thanks.
Have you tried kernel adiutor?
