Why are sound files shown in the notes

Hi!
I use the notes in outlook and mda compact. In outlook i see only the notes i've created, but on the mda i see much more files (sound files from navigator, etc).
What can i do, that the mda shows only the files, which i can see in outlook?

Yup, me too on the MDA
It is very annoyong, haven't figured a work around yet.

i've found a solution:
The device shows all files from the memory card. You must create a "My Documents" folder and delete the file "ignore_my docs" on the card. It should work then...

Two questions
Where do I create the "MyDocuments"= The torage card? and if so, what goes in there?
Also, I cannot find the "Ingnore_my Docs" folder, program, in my storage card?

you have a "My Documents" in the main memory of your device. You must create a folder with the same name on the storage card. What goes in? Nothing in my case, its just to prevent windows to scan the whole memory card.
The file is there but it is marked as hidden. I used resco explorer to remove it - maybe it also works from the desktop (active sync).

Deleted "Ignore my docs" suing active Sync as you said, and I added a "My Documents" folder on the storage card and....still 200 tomtom voice commands in my notes? I did a soft reset, still no go? Any clues

i think this is an OS issue as wav files are shown in notes application, another solution maybe to create an extra folder. maybe another level i.e. transfer your files to \Storage Card\My Documents\TomTom\Commands\
let me know if this works out and if it does not affect your TomTom Software.

Stroage location for Notes

Hello all,
Does anyone know if there is a way or Reg hack to specify where notes are saved when they are created?
At the moment , if you save a note then it gets created in either:
the My Documents folder if Main Memory is specified
or
the root of a storage disk if the is specified.
It is a pain in the arse, aslo if it can be done, will it screw up the syncing with outlook using activesync?

yeah this annoys me aswell, I like to keep my notes in my documents, the notes app on the jasjar doesn't mind the notes being stored in my documents on the storage card or on the phone but once they are moved from the root of the device, activesync will remove them from outlook! So I've had to move them back!

Activesync - syncing files

I recently setup Activesync to sync files but i really only wanted it to sync a single Word Document file in My Documents on my Vario.
When it syncs it syncs the whole of the My Documents folder, which is crap cos this contains all my camera photos and videos and I dont want that. is there a way to just do files you want.
I managed to delete the files on my PC and it removed them on my Vario!
Also any new files that appear in My Documents on my Vario get automatically synced!

That would be difficult. What I suggest would be to move your not-wanting-to-syn files to your storage card or some folder in your root (e.g. not in the My Documents). Yeah, that would cause problems with many of your applications as it will look for My Document first and you would have to go and find your customized folder.
Anyway, you can try this (I didn't try it before). Create a shortcut in your My Documents that point to another folder where you keep all your real files, so that if your app open My Document, it would be easy for you to find that folder. But, still any photo taken by your camera will be still in My Document.
Anyway, there isn't much harm syncing all files. I mean, as long as the files are not changed, the isn't much time consumed in synching them. Better just leave them as they are

Change the sync location of My Files in activesync to use storage card

I threw a few music files in the MY PDA folder under My Documents on my PC and expected them to sync accross to my Vario II. After connecting the phone it sent a couple across then I got a warning on the phone that 'Storage Memory is Critically Low'. Obviously the files had been synced onto the phone. Thought you would be able to specify to sync onto the phone storage card but there is no option for this anywhere.
Anyone know a way to do this?

if you set up the sync option for media player in active sync and then set up the playslists you want to sync in media player on your pc it will automatically set up the folders on your card and transfer the files. it does warn not to drag and drop onto the card of you want the sync process to work.

Cheers cdyat, but this was more of a test. For instance, what if I want to sync 30Mb of Office files with my phone. It would appear that I can't just put these in the My PDA Sync folder to be copied next time I connect, but I have to cut and paste from the relevant folders.
This to me seems ridiculous but I can't see an option to change the location to sync with the storage card anywhere.

You can only sync files, be default, into main memory. There are two 3rd party apps available (Sorry can't remember the names) that will allow you to Sync anything to anywhere. One is commercial and the other is a Japenglish conversion. Try searching these forums for links.

I am all for searching, but if anyone comes up with a name for those two apps, please post =)

As another user recently posted in this forum, Pocket Controller has a Sync Manager that can be used to synchronize files and folders to any location, including storage cards.

Pocket Controller sounds very nice but $35 is quite a lot just to enable me to sync a folder to my storage card.
I had assumed there must be a registry setting somewhere on the PC that would change the default path?

Acid Sync - Sync Computer Folder to SD Card\Folder
A guy I know is working on a program to do this with a much easier configuration since it just syncs Desktop folder to Storage Card folder. Pretty simple really, copy mp3 or whatever to desktop folder and it will sync to PPC folder and viceversa. Still in beta though

[Q] How to Syncronise files on MicroSD?

Dear friends, as per the title, I'm wondering if there is a trick to syncronise files and pictures stored on the external memory.
With ActiveSync, if you choose the option "files", it creates a new folder on the PC named HTC_HD2 My Documents but there is no way to place in any shortcut to anything on the MicroSd...
Of course I do know that I can copy and paste anything I want but, I'm missing a little the old Symbian Syncro...

I have been looking for this too but haven't found a solution yet.

You can use Sync Toy from microsoft, it's free and you can sync your sd card.
