hi i have an idea for a new clock for s2u2 but have no idea how to make it work
its a binary clock, its a bit tricky to view but geeks will apreciate it there is a pic below to show you how it works
Its easy to make it work.
Just name it cc.png or .bmp and place it in \Program Files\s2u2\GFX\ClockA.
Soft reset might be required,
And you might need to choose a diffrent clock in the s2u2 settings
yeah but its animated differently to a normal digital or analog clock although i might be able to do something
and its gonna be tricky anyway since for eleven u actually need 11 not two ones

For eleven you do need 2 ones in this case, because this looks like a "easy" bin. clock
I would be even nicer if you could make it like a horizontal clock
one that has three horizontal dotted lines, so 18:10:05 would look like:
_xooxo 18<hours>
ooxoxo 10<min>
oooxox 05
It's harder to read because you have to count to 59 instead of 9
if you need a picture, I got one on my desk
cool ive nver thought of that before. ideally it could work either way. that pic would be cool
has anyone got any ideas on this
there are some more pictures below to help anyone interested
Here is a quick & dirty Binary Clock use as you wish.
Set these files in \Program Files\SU2U\Clock
I included the AM PM images as well. If you don't like the way it spaces it out just delete or rename them in the folder so they don't display...
Enjoy!
wow. cant wait ur 4eva in my debt
any why do i have to rename them other files

Not a problem see my above post and you'll see why when you look at the Screen caps, It doesn't look too centered sadly but unless there is away to remove the AM/PM it wont ever be centered prefectly ... Doesn't look to bad even with my really odd BG
Just disable the top curtain.
can i edit the pictures and re distribute perhaps on my other site too
AND IVE GOT A PROBLEM UNDER S2U2 SETTINGS I CAN ONLY HAVE HH.MM
OR H.MM.TT
OR
H.MM.SS TT
HOW DO I GET
HH.MM.SS

hkcu/software/a_c/s2u2/timeformat
cheers sorted i was trying to edit it using the pc and it didnt like it. so i used total commander instead
i have renamed the binary pngs to correspond with manilla 2d but when i apply them they look like this:
Does anyone have enough know how with manilla to be able to tell me how to get it to show up as a "digital clock" should so it will be spaced properly?
I have uploaded the renamed picture below if you want to them
nevermind i got it
posted it in m2d skin thread
Here is the post
Hi, in this thread we discuss modifications of the landscape version of manila. Why a new thread? Well, to avoid confusion which manila the modifications will work on.
And the word at the moment is that the old manila editors don't work properly with TF3D-L. We're all still learning what TF3D-L can and can't do though. I only found out today that I can hide the large digits in portrait, but not in landscape.
One change I would be interested in is changing the green highlighting for blue. Any thoughts as to where to start with that?
Yup, I also use the no curtains cab that removed the top and bottom curtains. It works on the new TF3D 2, but it only removes the bottom curtain.
I would like one that removes both.
It's all about picking the files apart seperately.
Having a working file editor would indeed make that much easier. I expect a working version very soon, as the filetypes are similar. It'd only be a matter of adding the new files to the file list, no?
I can definitely verify that manila editor doesn't not work but CFC GUI does. I used it to create my theme.
It can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798
I just tried that and it's an awesome app, thanks for the heads-up! How is it on Manila 2?
It works well.. Of course i'm running into landscape issues. There is an image that is used for the landscape background i believe its 299eblahblah and no matter how i try and extend this image it doesn't cover the whole background in landscape. I'm going to try some more when i get home but i tried for like 2hrs last night with no success
Alrighty, I'll be looking into this myself too then, will let you know if I find something useful.
How about HEX editing, as any of that required for the landscape BG?
I didn't do any hex editing.... Then again my landscape image doesn't work right either lol..
Hmm. I'm trying to get my TF3D 1 skin working, but TF3D 2 keeps hanging on me. Some parts just don't seem to load and I don't know what's causing it.
Did you get that to work?
Where is it hanging? It might just be a tf3d 2 bug. Some files that are in tf3d 1 aren't in tf3d 2 as well. I'm still not sure if you can copy and paste them in the windows folder. I've cooked these files into the rom but i believe there is a setting in CFC that asks you if u are doing a copy paste.
I'm using SOTI Pocket controller to replace the files in my windows folder. After that I reboot. It then hangs upon startup. It shows the screen as if I'm sliding the slider to select another tab, "selecting" the home tab. I cannot control anything TF3D does from there, but most of the skin is visible.
I can imagine Pama's transparent sliders don't work on this ROM, so I've tried without those, but even tweaks to my background seem to mess it up.
Going to try with some other files now. (resetting takes a lot of time though. )
Yea i think there is something out how the files are either compressed or decompressed. CFC says something about padding vs trimming.
So... how do you suppose I can fix this? It's kind-of required to commence further testing.
EDIT: I'm eliminating the different possible causes for it not to work. Have narrowed it down to either the background or the curtains.
EDIT2: The good old background image fix doesn't work.
EDIT3: Surprise, surprise, the top and bottom curtains don't work either! I'm guessing that is the part where it's going to get tricky.
Gonna work on the new icons first though, hoping for one of the brighter minds (read: more experienced with TF3D) to come up with an awesome solution!
EDIT4: Can't get the BG or curtains to work -yet. The previously working HEX fix did no wonders this time.
Although I suspect the curtains are just fine as they are, since they seem to be semi-transparant.
P.S. Didn't you already get the background working, Bxsteez?
oh, I missed that... so I'll repost all things already posted around by me:
1- Analog + small flip clock, already ported to new tflo3d http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479929
2- background files (see attachment), inspect and try to have idea on how works (4 files, 2 for portrait and 2 for landscape... what a mess )
3- I usually get rid of top bar with a transparent 18c460d8_manila. Doesn't work anymore
4- no lines in tabs with transparent 74ddfccb_manila still works
5- graphic files for flip clock customization are ok
6- bottom bar transparency still works with a transparent 1864da05_manila
@mod: please stick this customization thread and let float away the previous one... tnx

Yea i got the background to work. I just used that CFC tool and modified the image and used CFC to replace. I didn't copy it in though i cooked a rom with the files in it. I think that is what is probably causing the problem.

Ok here is what i did to get it work via copy and paste.
I used CFC tool and when i was finished replacing files i went to tools and clicked finish up. I chose it to be uncompressed and then trim. This worked perfect for me. I'm not sure about that curtian cause i still can't get that to change.
I get the top curtain working again only in home cutting away the qtc reference snip in manila file with m9editor (search for "HomeTab" and you'll see) but it doesn't sounds like a great solution. Should be better to find the file invoked and make it trasparent like before

Thank you, I will take a look at those bg files right away.
This is killing me...
I am trying to move the clock down a few pixels so that i can get the carrier name to show on the screen. I have worked out all the files and can move it down, however there must be another image file that adds a transparant line in the middle of the clock. So what happens is that i get a line across the numbers where the original middle section was. Does anyone know where this file is ? I spent days on this..
Hey Developers,
I'm currently really busy with Android and everything around it. now I want to start and create my own theme. So far I know I have to pull (or get it from my current ROM) framework-res.apk and take the res map out (or icons) and then when I'm done I have to open it with 7zip and but the files I've edited back and then I can push it (not 100% sure how I have to do that but I'll find that out later)
Now the problem I'm having is changing the colors. I want to set the color of everything (buttons, radio buttons, numbers) and stuff to Purple instead of the normal Green.
I'm currently doing this by opening every file with Photoshop edit it and save it.
Is there any other way to do this or am I using the right way?
Hope someone can help me out!
Thanks in Advance,
SterAllures
You can do it this way with no problems.
If you want have all animations on notifications bar available at the moment you can use my framework-res if you want, it also have com.htc.resources.apk for espresso launcher theme, I based my work on other framework do it here with all animations on notifications enabled because I can't do it well without problems.
Framework with espresso [30-09-2010]: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DEIXMTG4
Framework with espresso carbono [30-09-2010]: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OIAQDS5E
GPS movement on conection
Rotate sync icon
SCB "I" do it by NeoPhyTe for me and added later for http://circle.glx.nl
All notification icons replaced and colored
"Herotizado" window style
And some others that I don't remember at the moment
Well I want to start by editing the colour and after that change the colors. but thanks a lot for the frameworks! I'll download them and look at it!
but I still want to know if by editing them with Photoshop is the best way to do it? or is there an easier/better way?

You can look at my small tutorial in my signature
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
After a long fight with my framework-res.apk I must warn you: if you push the new apk back on the phone via adb you are likely to get a lot of errors on boot from alle the HTC apps launching at startup. You're way better off if you create a update.zip and flash it - no errors at all. In Fightspit's tutorial is a link to the utils for such an update.zip (the tutorial is great and a life saver btw).
And do not forget to decompile framework (not unzip) before editing images, or u will have problems with .9.png (they must have 1px border around)
Edit: and yes u have to edit images one at the time with photoshop
Heya,
I'm back from a lil vacation .
Wanted to thank you all I've read through the link in your signature which was very helpfull!
And Unfortunately Mendozinas I already had a feeling I had to edit every lil file one by one but thanks for clearing that up, gonna be a pain the first time I think but it will be worth it!
Hope I can create a professional looking theme!
I would love to customize the metro start colors; anyone figure this out?
dunno it could be related to shxui.dll...not sure
i tried to mod shxui.dll, i found two pngs that looked like the star screen background, i tried to change them in good old Resource Hacker, but once i restarted, metro just failed, the PNGs files are 5231 and 5232, hope this helps

You need to open "SHSXS.DLL" with Resource Hacker. Go to the 2 PNG's, 5231 and 5232. I saved 5231 to desktop. Opened it in Paint Shop Pro. Copied a picture from my Comp. and pasted it as a new layer onto 5231. I think this avoids altering dimensions and size of original. Then, saved it to Desktop and opened Resource Hacker. Went to original 5231 and replaced it with my modded copy. PNG/5231/1033. Then i replaced the original SHSXS.DLL in Windows. Rebooted and Bam!!! It works. But for god's sake make sure you keep a copy of original SHSXS.DLL. I should also mention that i haven't, as yet, done anything with 5232 so when you reboot you will notice the green band behind the tiles which, i guess is 5232. I figure you guys can work the rest out for yourselves.
Cheers to Ramses_mex for the heads up. Enjoy.
Is it possible to have the file already changed?
Blue
Red
White...
yep: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268120
In addition to the directions in this ^ link, you also have to replace 5231 and 5232 in shsxs.dll (as Cueboid says above). otherwise, you'll end up with green at the top and bottom of whatever background color you've chosen.
