Does anyone know the solution to this one.
I have a Orange SPV M600 (HTC Prophet). It's the standard rom without any tweaks. The wifi connects but I can't get any data over it. My rss reader doesn't coneect, neither will email or IE. The phone has been working fine for ages and this has just started happening (honest I haven't been tweaking).
This has happened before and the only way I have solved it is to hard reset it. But I reeeeealy don't want to do that again. Any ideas what to try???

I have the same problem on my S200.
Wifi seems to connects fine, but no data is transmitted. In PIE it connects but then just says searching - then a screen that says connection lost.
Have tried hardreset, but the problem is still there.
I have two S200 and they both have this problem.
Any ideas?

Hi All,
Recently, I bought a QTek 9100 and I absolutely love it! However, there is one issue that I did not find a way around it yet. It is very well possible I am doing something wrong, and not something with the software, and I hope you can help.
When I connect to my computer at work using ActiveSync, I can access the internet from the QTek only with Pocket Internet Explorer. Other applications, such as MSN, Skype or other thirdparty software, does not seem to be able to connect.
What could I do to fix that?
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
Arno
Hi Arno,
I have the Orange SPV M3000 and upgraded the ROM to the latest Dutch version from Orange (2.18.1.3 NLD). When I connect the thing via ActiveSync, after some moments it complains about not being able to get an IP address. It is a warning box with the title 'Pocket PC Networking'. However, I am able to surf from within IE; sounds like the same problem.
I would love to hear what the reason and fix for this behaviour could be, if someone encountered this before, thanks.
Might be the same issue indeed. However, I am not getting any IP error messages though. It connects fine, it runs IE fine, syncs fine. It is just that other applications do not seem to be using that connection.
Maybe I need to set something up in the Conn Mgr or something, but I could not find out what exactly...
Please Help
I have a brand new SPV M5000 from work. Set up to get email with exchange server for emails diary etc. This works fine. In the Comms Manager wifi will not turn on, to be clear this is not about connecting to a wireless network, wifi will not ven turn on. 3G etc all fine, but wireless will not activate.
Orange seems stumped, previuosly it did work ,according to my IT manager before the sim was activated. Since then no joy. I have hard and soft reset to no avail.
Can any of you throw a light on this?
I have lookd through the other messages on this forum and cant find any mention of it
Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem on my universal. Any ideas from any one on how to fix it ?
I've been having the same problem. sent it back to O2 they fixed it twice and it is still being gay!
Please please please somebody help me!
My XDA Exec started off fine, and then over time it took more and more attempts to connect to a wifi service. I recently sent it away to have the USB port re-attached, and since then it won't connect at all.
I have upgraded the ROM and it hasn't made any difference.
Does anyone know if there is an aerial for the wifi electronics? Could it be broken? Is this more likely to be a firmware / software issue?
Any clues would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
Ian
I had the same problem with my Wizard, it seemed it was a hardware problem
Traded up(?) to the Niki from a Tornado, I use push email from the works exchange server, over Vodafone contract GPRS, the Tornado was always great for this.
Setup the Niki with the same GPRS settings, when I turn it on everything works, push email, internet browsing etc. After a while it stops working, can't sync, can't browse the web, or even get a weather update. Though it still says it's got a good GPRS connection.
Switch off and back on and it all works again for a short while, then same again.
I've even flashed wioth Tom's ROM to see if that improved things, still the same.
Stoping and starting the GPRS connection doesn't help.
Proxy, DNS, other issue ?
Any ideas ?
I have the same problem. The only way to restore it in my experience is by activating 3G in the comms manager (or restarting). From there the phone will log off from the data connection and log back on again. From the searching I've done it seems to be a problem related to WM6. I also use push mail and, when this happens, it's very annoying. Haven't found a solution yet. I've tried an alternate DNS address (still nothing), I've tried upgrading the radio to a Kaiser ROM (same problem), and I've tried using Toms ROM (still the same problem). I was hoping that upgrading the radio ROM would solve it, but it hasn't. I'm going to try and have the phone on 3G all day and see if it drops out of connection. If it doesn't then that would indicate some problem with the GPRS side of WM. I don't think it's a setting thing, but I could be wrong. I wish I could find a solution though because I'm considering moving to an N95 8Gb...
I have the same issue,
see my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374226
but with no reply...
When it occurs I can switch off the phone part (plane mode), but I can't switch back on, it stucks to plane mode... I've to shutdown the device to be able to restart a good data connection.
Maybe a WM6 bug... or radio rom issue .. I dunno
Thanks both,
I've changed the radio rom to this one, RUU Nike Radio 1.64.08.21K , which is a hacked Kaiser one, seems a bit better, still a low signal, but quicker reconection, and the GPRS stays up longer.
Vodafone UK
Tom's Rom

Cheers.
GPRS connectivity issue
Same issue here. Push mail, GPRS, internet stops working after a while. Sometimes it works for a day or less. I place it into plane mode and then turn off plane mode. and it usually works. Sometimes i have to reboot the whole thing, but not very often.
The display still shows G in the top box, but doesn't work.
Anyone have any fixes, or suggestions...
OMG, didn't know that this is a common problem.
Waiting for the SE XPERIA X1.
Hi,
I have researched in the forum in order to find some issue similar than mine but unfortunally I couldn't .
I bought my Blackstone at the end of December and since that, everything worked fine: I used to sincronize data with activesync at home (Windows Vista) and in the office (Windows XP), connected the device to the internet, downloaded e-mails (using outlook or Seven Mail), used GPS (Destinator and Igo8). Everything was fine until the day I decided to perform a hard reset. Then the nighmare comes! After the hard reset I started the sincronization with activesync. Everything sincronized very well. However, when I configured my e-mail accounts the tmail.exe hanged. Also the activesync stopped sincronizing. It stays all the time with the message: "looking for changes"...but never starts sincronizing. Then, I tried to perform another hard reset. The same thing happened: the first sincro is fine (in Windows XP or Windows Vista). But then, if I configure e-mail accounts or if I reinstall GPS programs, the activesync hangs again. I can only sincro with activesync if I don't use any other connection application. If I´m using GPS application and GPRS starts, immediately GPS hangs. Is that possible? I performed probably 10-12 hard resets, reinstalled activesync 3-4 times, but the problem keeps unsolved. Anyone have a clue for this issue?

Hi olivas1971 and welcome to the forum.
Your problem does sound strange & unusual. It sound as if you might need to flash another radio or ROM or both. But for that you will need to use hardspl on your device first (preferably from XP as it has less problems).
Use the search function and readup WELL before you start. Good luck with it.
Hi Abram,
I have flashed my device with new ROM and radio as you suggested. My device seems to be fine again. I´ll be monitoring it during this week. However, I want to thank you in advance, because I´m sure you find the solution.
brgds.
Hey, guys!
I'm looking for a very simple app. that keeps track of how much data is/was transferred via GPRS. I have tried Wireless Monitor from SPB and it works flawlessly until i soft reset the phone with Wi-Fi turned on. Then Manilla won't start and i have to hard-reset the phone in oder to be able to boot it up again.
The app. has to be compatible with Jade.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I can't imagine why in the world Microsoft has not integrated this feature into the OS. Symbian has it, Nokia OS has it... It's crazy, if you ask me.
I run Efficasoft's Smart GPRS Traffic monitor.. Seems to survive soft resets etc without any problems...
Put in the date your monthly billing starts and the amount of inbuilt data in your package and just let it get on with it...
Works perfectly on my Jade (Orange UK Touch 3G)...
I've not had any interaction problems with manilla or any other app on the phone..

I also use the Spb Wireless Monitor. I had never problems with it, even when soft-resetting the phone. No idea what happened to you.
