A messenger with file sending option - Networking

Anyone knows an Instant wich can send files, and can connect to MSN?
I've tried Agile, and IM+ but I can't send files with it. Windows Live Messenger is good for it, but its imports my buddies to my contact list S#@t
Any Idea?

Try mchat. it is even for free

Thanks, I've tried it, but I can't connect to MSN via WiFi. Any advices?

Would love to use a IM that can send files (other than pictures which is available with quite a few IM programs) over wi-fi. Will add this to my to-do list for tomorrow.

Sending SMS messages using computer?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs that would let me simply just send sms messages via the computer so i can type them using my keyboard?
I experimented with pocket controller, but its too bulky and slow and just emulates the screen, all i need is a simple sms message sender.
Check the Jeyo software:
Jeyo Mobile Companion
Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook
SMS cool from Aim Productions lets you send sms from your pc.. it should be out soon if it not already.

I'trying to use Jeyo Mobile Extender with Outlook2003 but after the installation I can't see any change on my Outllok toolbar... :-(

Seeing as you're on Vodafone you may want to check with them. They have created a little plugin for Outlook - in the UK anyway - that allows you to send SMS's from your PC and either have replies sent to your PC or phone. Its free - in the UK - until the end of the year and I presume will be standard SMS cost after that.
Its called Vodafone text centre which you should be able to find on www.vodafone.co.uk, sorry I don't have the link on me.
Pocket controller I use at the office and home, brilliant I think it is.
Quick google later, Linky
Will have to give it a try later
Sending SMS messages using computer
Try this program, Dr Neils SMS Utils, its free and you may donate to support Dr.Neils efforts.
You need to connect your PPC with Active Sync and the DNSMS utils will fetch all your sms inbox . You can use the same interface to send them too. Nice utility.
The only problem it will look for contacts in outlook. if your contacts are not synched with outlook then you would have to type the phone number as well.
if you have installation problems try downloading and installing the .Net Framework. from Microsoft website.
post your feedback to help others too.

yah you have to right click on the top tool bar and select sms for it to show.. something else i did as well to make it appear but forgot w
hat. i'm pretty sure its included in the readme which is there for a reason.
I think Jeyo is crap. The software is buggy, doesn't work for me and also doesn't receive SMS stored in subfolders. The developers know about this issue but haven't corrected it for months now. In my opinion, it's just a bad software.
so what would you recommend is better? also heres a firefox extension to send sms through google, i think it only works in the US and UK.
http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/extensions/sendtophone/
Jeyo mobile extender works fine for me with one exception:
it won't read the address book (fully patched Outlook xp)
Sends and receives OK if you manually type numbers in but once I hit the adress book or "to:" button, outlook becomes unuseable.
I think it is a security issue where mobile extender wishes to access the address book. Normallyy a window will appear and ask for permission, however with jeyo Mobile Extender this doesn't happen.
Buggy buggy, time to uninstall unless anyone has experienced similar and has a work around?

Windows live mobile beta problem

Hi everyone,
I have recently installed the Windows Live Mobile, it was working perfectly but now it seems that there is a problem with the 'synchronise'.
When I click the synchronise option, the email can be synchronised, but not the Contacts & Email. It always fails. also, when you open the Messenger, it always no contacts online, but actually there are.
Anyone has any ideas of this?
Thx in advance...
The online contacts appear after ~ 10-20 sec. As for the sync, I do not know.
I have the same email sync problem. I figured it's because my perticipation is still pending for the offical beta enrolment. I downloaded the file from another source so I thought it maybe there server seeing that I'm not part of the beta program yet. Are you part of the beta program or did you do like me and get it from the forums?
My only compaint about this version is they still didn't fix the issue that when you sign in to messenger the first time it adds all your MSN Messenger contacts to your address book, which they are already there so now there are duplicates. I have there full contact card with all there details and now a second one that just has there email and messenger name. It should be smart enough to see that that email addresss and IM name already exist in my address book and link to it instead of creating another one.
Yeah I got the messenger from the froum also.
I have tried to login the Windows live mobile using another ID, it works fine, but just not mine.
I dont know...
I don't like how WLM mobile takes all your messenger contacts and automatically puts them into your 'contacts' on the phone, which ends up in my contacts folder in Outlook. That's horrible, I don't want the two mixed up and now I have no choice, mix them up, or don't use it?
Go delete them from my contacts folder in outlook, that deletes them from my messenger contacts as well!!
Pocket MSN never forced your messenger contacts to be placed or synced into your 'contacts'.
I got that problem too

My messenger contacts suddenly appeared as offline. Strange. No reboot or relogon could fix it. They could IM me but I could not contact them. I suspect that this has to do with the beta, maybe they simply block old betas to force the legitimate beta testers to use the latest version.
Hi guys,
Can someone point me in the direction of this download? I registered with MS Connect but havent had anything back from them yet.
WLM works well on my N91 but i dont have it on my TYTN
Thanks
Same offline contacts problem here...

Doubt you'll hear anything from them, I registered a few months ago and for some reason their registration system was TOTALLY cocked up, so I ended up with a mangled registration and they point blank refused to offer me any useful help.
So now I can log into MS Connect, but I can't see the right live beta tests to join them properly... It sucks. Guess I'll just have to wait on this one.
is the latest WLM on the FTP i couldn't find it? can somebody mirror it somewhere?

windows Live Messenger

Hello, I have Full internet and having issue s connecting to Windows Live Messenger.
I can get onto T-Zones and Internet Explorer, but when i try to sign into MSN, I recieve the Windows Live error message : There was a problem signing you into messenger. It may be the service or you may be in a place with bad reception. Please try again later. -Retry or Cancel-
Any Clues.............Help much appreciated.
I get this all the time too.... plus using live messenger will merge all of your live contacts into your contact list, which is pretty annoying, so I just gave up on using the live software all together.... whenever I need to use it, I just go to www.live.com on IE and log in there.
I have yet to find (nor have I really put a lot of effort and looked) for a good IM program.

MSN messenger file for HTC Touch Diamond wanted...

Guys, anyone has the file to share? Mainly what happened was that I choose the option to sync all msn contacts into the diamond when i signed in FIRST on msn messenger via the phone. And realised after a while it was actually a hassle to have all these email addresses in my contact list on the phone. So what I did was that I deleted the list from the phone and did not realise its actually in sync with my computer as well. So when I connected the hp to my computer last night to transfer some files over, the "ZERO MSN contact list" got updated on my computer and so I lost all contacts on my computer. It was like a freak accident.
But luckily I managed to get the contacts by sourcing around. But now my worry is that if I were to connect my phone to the PC again, it would update ths system and thus delete all MSN contacts on the computer again. Any idea how I can change this setting on the phone? or by re-installing msn mesenger on the phone again? If so, does anyone have the MSN folder to share, because its a default file from the phone itself.
Thanks for all the help...
Cheers
Hi,
You can uninstall the LiveMessenger application but it would be easier to switch identity (so that there is no profile for hotmail user) and log in to application again. When you do so untick the selection of 'merge contacts'.
I went through the same grief!
You can download the app from Dutty http://www.duttythroy.net/download-area.html?task=view.download&cid=24

Control phone

Is there an app like bluephoneelite for windows?
I want to be able to send messages and make calls using my pc. Is there something available?
dashwire
I dont know for the calls, but for messaging i use dashwire.
You install a client on the phone, and it backup all your sms, contacts, call logs to the cloud (internet server) an you can send message an manage contacts from there.
The nice thing, its a web app, so you can openit in any place. You have always your contacts and messaging backupd for an eventuality. And you dont have to connect the phone each time you want to send a message, the client on your phone automatic sync with your dashwire page.
The bad thing, it doesnt aloud calls, but i dont really care about that. And it use your data conection (or wifi).
Heres the link http://www.dashwire.com/
And this thread belongs to Q&A...
Thanks for the link gabiton.
I'm looking for something that works directly with the computer. Similar to bluephoneelite.
