battery status keeps on stating its not activated.. - Wing, P4350 General

i'm installed battery status successfully, when i try to open the program, by clicking on the icon, it keeps saying its currently inactive, and press "ok" to activate, which i did, i still don't see the icons/display on the today screen..
any sugggestions??

Make sure batterystatus is activated from Start->Settings->Today->Items
Once that is selected open batterystatus, and the first tab will have a checkbox to show plug-in on today screen. The second tab will display more options on the home screen plug-in. You can also click and hold the home screen plug-in and select which rows you would like to display.
If that doesnt work then try to use the newest batterstatus 1.04.203 beta4 Build 0218 i think (some1 correct me if im wrong.)
If that doesnt work.....pray

Network Notification Icon/bubble problems

I used to turn wi-fi on/off by tapping on the "network" indicator(usually a G sometimes U) located at the top if the screen left of the signal stregth and tapping on the Wi-Fi:Off when the little ballon popped open. I installed HTweakC and now instead of W-Fi:Off/On it say's "Wireless Manager" How do I get the On/Off button back under the notification. The same is true when I tap the signal strength icon. Where it used to say "Turn on Flight mode" it now says "wireless manager" How do I get the "Flight mode" option back.
I tried uninstalling HTweakC and to no avial.
Thx
Joe
Been looking all over with no answer.....anybody help me out.
I tried all the settings in HTweakC and even un installed it, and that wireless manager option is still there, so it either is a rom feature or a registry setting.

Two things I'd rather not mess with...guess I need to hard reset and reinstall everything....
I finally did a hard reset and restored everything from scratch. Then I found the correct registry setting right here in the Hermes Wiki in the "Show Network Operator Name in today screen" If you "Enable clicking on the today plugin above open Comm Manager" it also changes the settings for the icons at the top of the screen. Guess you can't have it both ways. I really like turing on WiFi from the top Icons instead of going into the com manager every time. Oh well, least I found where the problem was.
I am hoping, nay, praying, that the above solution works on my newly upgraded Windows Mobile 6 xda. It's the one thing that's driving me round the bend; I hate having to go into the wireless manager every time I want to connect or disconnect wifi.
Many thanks for finding this!!!

Just slide the keyboard open so the bottom row is visible, hold the alt key (the coloured dot at the bottom left corner of the keypad, if you're holding the phone as you would if the keyboard was fully out) and press the OK button - that'll enable/disable the wifi.
I never use the Comm Manager for enabling or disabling wifi when hardware buttons do the job very nicely!

lock screen missing

hi all...
the lock screen on my hd2 has gone missing... pressing the red button directly brings me into the sense UI... any suggestions what went wrong?
thanks!
any help with above issue pls?
Have you recently installed then uninstalled a custom lockscreen? Look at my sticky (link in my sig) and towards the bottom of the first post you'll see some attached cabs. download the one that says Lockscreen HD2 original then install it. It should bring you back to normal.

hi there...
i did stumble upon your sticky and downloaded the lockscreen HD2 original cab file yesterday itself. I have soft reset the device after the installation but still there is no lock screen. Once the device boots up its directly in the Sense UI. Anything else I can do to fix OR might have done wrong?
Thanks for your input!
** Also, to answer your question, no i have not installed or uninstalled any custom lockscreen.. I am still in the learning stages of flashing a ROM and once I get comfortable with all the steps involved, I'll take the plunge but at this point the device is in stock condition except for the apps I have installed. Thanks

Thanks for the link - it kind of helped, which is to say - when i go to start menu and tap on "lock" it does lock the screen but after unlocking it when i press the red button to shut the display and again press it the lockscreen doesnt come up.. i'd hate to click twice before I press the red button only to make sure it doesnt come to life and call my aunt while in my pocket :-/
I tried reinstalling the cab from your sticky to the device (coz I wasnt sure where i had installed it previously) but the problem persists and No I havent installed any BSB or any other tweaks (atleast not intentionally)
So when you go to start , etc, then lock, after you unlock it you're presented with the lock screen Options. Are those set accordingly? Once set, it'll ask you to save changes, then click ok in top right corner.

No I dont. I dont have any of those installed. I want to install the cookies but havent installed any mods yet. The only things I've installed on there are apps.
One of them being Resco Explorer which has a Task manager with it. Could that have made my screen disappear?

Once you go to the start menu, select SETTINGS. Then tap the MENU soft key in the bottom right and select ALL SETTINGS. You should see LOCK in the top-right. Tap it, this locks your screen. Immediately unlock. You are now at the LOCKSCREEN OPTIONS page. Set accordingly. Save. Tap OK in top right. Done. Drink a beer.

I already tried this before.. Tapping on the Lock icon in the "ALL SETTINGS" does not lock the screen. Instead, it directly takes me to the password screen (maybe what you referred to as lockscreen options) where my first choice is a checkbox for "Prompt if phone unused for ___ mins and the other option is to choose a password.
Yeah that's the stuff. That's where you enable it. Check the box, set the password (pin).
Sorry for not realizing you had been there. If setting and saving those options doesn't work, not sure what to tell you.
Are you connected to an exchange server?
(you have to make sure after you hit the obvious SAVE button that pops up, you have to hit the OK button in the top right the screen.)

Open home problems

Hey guys this is my first post here and I tried to search for an answer before posting. Here's what I have:
-HTC Hero CDMA
-cyanogenmod 6.1 heroc
-most recent sprint radio 2.42.01.04.27
-decafuct kernel 2.6.29.6
-open home full 4.4
Since I installed the new kernel and radio two things are happening.
1. Thy wifi says 'error' when I try to turn it on.
2. Everytime I reboot as soon as the home screen comes up it says that openhome had a problem and needs to be closed so I select forclose (my options are forceclose and report) Then after a second the home screen shows up, I see the the phone is mounting my sd card and my icons are all there but they are the generic android icons. If I click on any it says, this application is not installed. So I go into application manager and force close openhome again, and that restores it. Also any Widgets I had installed has the error 'problem loading widget' if I long press the screen to put a widget back, most of the Widgets aren't showing up to select. At least the ones that were running before the reboot. Any ideas? I've tried starting in safe mode and the home screen never comes up all I can access is the status bar on top.
And yes, open home is installed on the phone and not the SD

Low Vision: Toggle "Magnification Gestures" With Widget

Hi I just got a Nexus 6p and its been great but I have low vision and if I keep the option turned on the phone, it becomes very laggy so I would like to only use it when I need to.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you .
This isn't exactly what you wanted, but it's kind of close...
I use ADW as my launcher, which allows me to set custom shortcuts on my home screen. Other launchers might offer the same functionality.
I long pressed on my home screen and selected the Add tab on the popup. I then tapped Custom Shortcut, and tapped "Pick your activity." Next, I tapped Activities, scrolled down to Settings and expanded the list. It's rather long, but in that list there is one called "Accessibility(.Settings$AccessibilitySettingsActivity)". I selected that one, gave it a name (what it displays under the icon), and pressed OK. This created a settings gear icon on my home screen that when tapped goes straight to the accessibility options in the settings menu, and then you can tap the toggle for Magnification.
Alternatively, you should be able to do the same thing with Tasker if you have it installed and it's a bit easier. Make a new Task, give it a title (anything) and press the plus to add a step. Select Settings, then Accessibility settings (first option). There is some "if" options, but you can just tap your back button to go back to the step list. Create a widget for Tasker (1x1 task) and select the name of the task you just created. You then need to select an icon for the "widget" by tapping the icon in the lower right that looks like 9 squares in a grid. There are a bunch of built in icons you can choose from, or use your own. The result will be an icon on your desktop that goes to the accessibility options screen, allowing you to quickly toggle the magnification gesture.
Again, sorry this isn't exactly what you asked for, but it would save some taps. Luckily the mag gesture toggle is high enough in the list of options that it should always be on the screen when you open the accessibility settings, so you won't need to scroll.
Lastly, if you are rooted, you could use Tasker to also hit the toggle for you. If you want instructions for that, please do let me know and I'd be happy to share how to do that. It would allow you to tap the "widget" and it would then launch the accessibility settings, wait a second and then tap the toggle, and go back to the home screen. That way you wouldn't need to toggle it yourself.

Thanks a lot!
So it sounds like theres no way to make a widget the will toggle it specifically, without rooting my device.
And if I do root it and use Tasker it will take almost the same time as if I didn't.
If thats no other way then I guess I should root it even though Id prefer not too.
Unless theres another way, Instructions would be great! Thanks again!
Are you familiar with Tasker? It's a paid app, but it's absolutely worth it and you'll find lots of uses for it. I use it to auto reply to text messages while I'm driving, mute my phone when I'm at work (calendar based) turn on wifi when I'm at home (location based), etc.
First thing you need to do is find the location of the toggle on the screen. Go to Developer Settings and turn on "Show Pointer Location". This will make a gray bar at the top of your screen that lists your X and Y coordinates at the top when you are touching the screen. Go to the accessibility settings and touch the toggle, taking note of what the X and Y coordinates are for that touch input.
To simulate touch input, can make a task that opens the accessibility settings as I described above, then add a "wait" command (Task > Wait), enter a value of 1 second. Next enter a command for Code and select Run Shell. Under the command, type "input tap x y" where x and y are the x and y coordinates that you found for the toggle. Make sure the "use root" box is checked. Lastly, add a Tasker command to go to the home screen (back to where you started with the "widget").
Back all the way out of Tasker to save that task, then go back in and press the play button at the bottom left side to test your setup. You should see it launch the accessibility settings, wait a second, toggle, and go home. The first time you run it you will need to grant Tasker root permissions, so be ready for that. If you're not quick to approve it, the task may proceed and go to your home screen before you press approve, so you might need to run it again a second time after you approve it.
If you need more help with, or have any questions, please do let me know. Happy to help.

Sorry for the delay. I am not aware of any widgets. I couldn't find a widget on the Play Store or light Google searching.
Regarding the adapter, the 6p should have come with a short USB A to USB C cable specifically for connecting to a PC.

Have you used the built in magnification gesture? You turn it on in accessibility settings, then when you need something to be bigger, just tap the screen 3 times rapidly. You can use pinch to zoom to adjust the text size. When you're finished with it, tap the screen 3 times again. I use it when an app's text is just too small.

Haha Yes I have tried it you have to tap your finger 3 times to magnify which means every time you tap something once it waits to see if you will tap more times and cause slight lag.

Lol I was so excited for my new phone I never checked but I found it !
Thanks I will root it when I get the chance.
i have the same exact problem,i absolutely love the feature as i wouldn't be able to use any phone with out it but it also gets frustrating sometimes (the touch delay) for example in the dialer app or Instagram.
a toggle in the notification panel would be great or an app through which you specifically enable/disable the gestures for each individual app.
any other alternative would be appreciated, somebody posted the same issue here with a possible fix (which i am not exactly sure how to implement) https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39685

Nice to know I'm not the only one.
Sorry for the late reply been busy with school. It would be nice to have this option maybe like a button shortcut .
Hey guys so that way of using tasker is very slow and not feasible.
Is there any other way of making a quick toggle magnification gestures. It would be nice if I could hold the menu button to enable it. (IPhone tripple tap home button to toggle)
Thanks again.
I have low vision as well and have also found that leaving the magnification gesture turned on causes the phone to be laggy even when I don't actually have the magnification turned on. Instead of using that, I rooted my phone, changed the global DPI and I use App Settings (an Xposed module) to increase the font size in some apps or force the standard DPI in apps that have issues with the custom one.
There's a gestural workaround I've employed: if instead of just putting down my finger I drag my finger slightly (in any direction) then the lag almost disappears. Doing this helps a lot but obviously its a bit of an awkward gesture.

There's no set up. I just do that gesture to get the scrolling to stop when I have magnification enabled.

Disable S-Health Pedometer Tracking

Hey guys,
So today I tried S-Health for the first time, and I am pleased with the functionality and features of the app.
However I want to know how I can disable the constant tracking of steps.
Under Manage Items, the option is greyed out and says "Cannot remove default tracker".
I want to use the app when I want to use the app.
Up to now I had excellent battery life on my S7E, sometimes up to 3 days on a single charge, but this app and tracker seams to be munching away and if there is no way to disable the steps tracker, I am afraid I will have to find another app and permanently disable this one. Would be a shame though.
Thanks in advance. I am not going to root because of strict warranty purposes.
There are guides on the internet related to older versions of the app and earlier Samsung models. I couldn't find any solution for the latest version on our phones yet.
go into shealth app and you will see how many steps u have done today. u tap on it and u will come to a screen were it shows all the steps u have made and other stuff. u will we see a word that saids "more"at the top tap that it says pause counting steps. i already paused mine so that why it says to restart counting steps.
Thanks a lot! It worked just as you described.

I have the same problem as the original poster and I tried your solution. Unfortunately, when I get to the screen you mention, I have no "more" at the top, but just "share". Apparently there is no way to pause the pedometer. I have a Gear Fit, which I often connect to the phone (Note3 with Android 5.0), but when I tried to stop the pedometer it was not connected. If I connect it, there is no difference. I'm using Samsung Health (not S-Health, they recently changed the name during an update). Do you have any suggestions? Have you upgraded to Samsung Health, and do you still see the "more" button?
BTW, if I tap the lower left button on the phone I get a menu that says "set target" and "view your step count data"; if I choose the last one, it allows me to select data from the phone or from the gear fit, or both. However, no option to pause the pedometer.

I have the same problem here. how can we turn off the pedometer on the phone? I have s7 edge. Issue I have is the phone is recording my steps and also my gear fit 2 is aswell and then pushes the combined total to my fitnness pal and under armour record which of course gives me inaccurate results. Has anyone resolved this?

So,
I had the same issue with myfitnesspal and shealth and i think we can resolve it. So first, in shealth main menu, go on steps and choose mobile phone. Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and choose pause counting steps.

I had the same issue with myfitnesspal and shealth and i think we can resolve it. So first, in shealth main menu, go on steps and choose mobile phone. Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and choose pause counting steps.

Thanks a lot, your solution just worked perfectly. The only difference in my Note3 is that I don't have the 3 dots on the top right corner, but only "Share". However, once I select the mobile phone only, if I tap the left button on the bottom (the one next to the home button) I get to the menu where I can choose to pause counting steps. Thanks again!

The "more" to which the OP referred is the 3-dot overflow button, not the word "more."
The important step missing is that you have to choose Mobile Phone (by default is ALL STEPS when you have some gear) and only then you will see the option to pause the menu. If you have ALL STEPS you will not see it.
In the latest version of S Health, you actually have to select "Mobile Phone", not "All Steps" when you have a Gear device. Once you select Mobile Phone, then the Pause Counting Steps option appears in the menu.
