1. Double click on the lock image (the area marked in the first picture below) can switch between music player and lockscreen.

Call and Messaging:
1. You may have some important message in your SMS inbox, and want them to be the first ones you see when entering SMS. That indeed can be done. Just check the messages you need, and press Pin.
2. There're messages you don't want others to see? Add them to Private Message! Keep pulling the SMS page down and you'll enter the Private Message page.
3. When others ask you for another person's contact information, you may have to memorize it or take note of it and then tell them. But with MIUI, you don't have to go through all these trouble.
4. When sending group messages, we used to have to address all the receivers by the same name, and it sometimes seem to be a little impersonal. But with MIUI, those times have come to an end.
5. With MiCloud service, you can send messages from the computer. Just log into http://i.xiaomi.com
6. When there's an incoming call, the ringtone will automatically increase if you don't answer it in 30 seconds.
7. I beleive most of you have the experience of getting annoying sales calls. But when there's an unknown number calling, you have to answer in case it's something important. With MIUI, you can easily tell whether you should answer a call or not.
8. If two people both use the MIUI system, they can send free messages and pictures via the Internet.
9. If a call is important, you can record it or take notes of important contents.
10. Sometimes you forgot to switch your phone mode to Vibrate or Silence in a meeting or during an important conversation. If someone calls you and your phone rings, you may feel embaressed fumbling to turn the sound off. With MIUI, you can make your phone silent in a flip.
11. Some of you, especially boys, like to put your phone in your pocket. And if there's an incoming call, you may misoperate when taking the phone out. Here's a way to avoid this risk.
Comeplete settings—Display—Prevent misoperation
12. After you've changed your phone, all the contacts information can be imported to your new phone in a minute. Press Menu button in the Contacts page, choose Import/export, and then choose Import from other phone.
13. You may find your contacts have no avatars or location information, that's because you've turned on Simple mode. Solution? Turn it off.
14. What do you do when there're duplicate contacts in your phone? Delete one of them by yourself? Well, that's unnecessary if you use MIUI.
15. A quick way to add someone into blacklist.
At call or message page, press the avatar of the one you want to add to blacklist—select Add to blacklist—Save. And it's done.
System Operation:
1. How cool would it be if you can put whatever you want to say on the lockscreen page? Follow the steps below, and it will be done.
Settings ---- Security & Privacy ---- Screen Security ---- Owner info.
2. Long press on any icon in Toggles to enter its setting page. This design will actually save us a lot of time.
3. Want to sleep in on weekends but forgot to turn off the alarm clock? You won't have this problem if you use MIUI clock.
4. We all like to sleep a little longer after the alarm clock set off. In this situation, a snooze function is necessary. It's annoying If the snooze duration is too short, and you may start to worry if it's too long. In MIUI, you can set the snooze duration yourself!
5. Slide down on Notes icon to create a new note.
6. In File explorer, you can see how many items a folder contains, and delete the empty ones without mistake
7. Want to let some applications auto start and the others don't? It's your call. (Auto Start).
8. Use more data than your package allows every month? Always forget to check your data usage? Well, then you can choose to put it right in front of you, and you won't have to worry about over usage anymore.
Privacy Protection:
Sometimes your family or friends may want to use your phone, but there're contents you want to keep private. In this situation, you just need to turn on the Guarded mode. Settings ---- Security & Privacy ---- Privacy Protection ---- Guarded Mode.
Updater App:
1.You can download the latest full ROM using the Updater App. [Press Menu inside the app]
2.You can use the updater app as a file flasher application.
3.You can us the app to boot into recovery.
Backup App:
1.You can backup system data, installed apps, and synced contacts to various accounts.
2.You can encrypt backup with MiCloud account password.
You can set time for Automatic Backups.

it's excellent rom, looks very beutiful and works works very fast.just hope that the camera bug will solved, then it will be suitable for daily use we can manage with no internal sd.

[Q] How to set a delay for the keyguard on non-rooted Note3?

Lets see if anyone can help me find a solution to this... (I posted this in the AT&T Note3 Q&A forum also, since it didn't look like they cross over to each other any, and I want to get as much help with this as I can.)
I have a non-rooted AT&T Note3 and have the corporate exchange email setup, which sets the requirement to use a PIN to secure the phone.
Using the lock screen PIN doesn't bother me, because I am able to set it to not ask for the PIN again for 30 minutes, which has worked well for my needs. I must keep the PIN activated on my phone though due to company requirements.
BUT...I hate the keyguard (swipe to unlock) feature! It activates way too quickly after the screen turns off. Before, with my original Note1, I had a custom rom that let me set a delay for the keyguard, so that if the screen turned off, I had 15 seconds to turn the screen back on without it activating the keyguard.
So, does anyone know how to either set a delay for the keyguard, or to disable it completely on a non-rooted Note3? I would prefer for it to be a delay, but this keyguard activating so easily makes me wish it was just completely gone!
I have tried a few of the available apps in the appstore, but none have worked so far. They usually have trouble with the Exchange email PIN requirement being in effect, even though I'm not trying to disable the PIN. I'm only wanting to do something about the keyguard feature.
I've used Touchdown for my email with my Note1, but am trying to keep from going back to using it. The new email package on 4.3 (and 4.4) work pretty good for my corporate email needs without needing all of the bells & whistles that Touchdown offer. Settings > Device > Lock Screen > Lock automatically, choose time limit (it says screen will be locked X minutes after screen automatically turns off) so you have X minutes to go back to the screen before keyguard kicks in -

I don't have a "Lock automatically" under the Lock Screen setting.

I do have the Secured lock time set to 30 minutes though, which is what keeps the PIN request from popping up constantly, but it does not stop the "swipe to unlock" from appearing.

What version of the Note do you have? and which firmware?
I'm using the International Unbranded on BTU XXUDMJ7 -

Maybe it has something to do with the actual lock feature used.

Yeah...I'm having some trouble getting images to show up in my posts....It is just being a pain in the butt tonight.
I am only allowed to use PIN or Password. Our office has the other options locked out.
Mine is the N900A (AT&T). I'm on the BMJ5 version which was just pushed out recently.

I would go with the lock features used then by the sounds of it, seems like on PIN or Password you cannot change certain features.

I've GOT to find a way to disable or delay that dang Swipe to Unlock screen! It was just driving me nuts a few minutes ago. I would look away from the screen and it would cut off, and within 1-2 seconds, I would reach over and press the home button to wake it back up and then have to do the Swipe to Unlock thing again. That is going to drive me CRAZY!

sorry, if this has been brought up, I searched, but didn't find any threads.
Anyways, I would say about 40-50% of the time when I press the Home button, I get this popup

Not a dumb question at all, Push and hold the home button, select the little globe in the bottom left, once you go thru to the next screen, scroll accross to CLEAR DEFAULTS and choose Touch Wiz and hit clear, exit out then try setting TW again and pressing Always.

okay, so I'm there, but I don't see TW to clear

When you press the home button the TW asks you to set Just once/ Always yes? -- if you choose always it should store it in there as a default. -
OK, try settings > general > application manager > choose ALL then scroll down to TW - choose TouchWiz Home - It should show 850KB or so in size, If not clear cache then clear data, hit force stop, reboot your phone and see if it stores the data this time.

Ok for some bizarre reason it isn't storing local data, I'm at a bit of a loss.
What Model number do you have? and what firmware are you running? - rooted also? any mods installed recently or other launchers?
when you went to cache, did it show 850kb or so in the app itself? as if it was storing the data at all?
You could try a factory reset. I know it isn't ideal and it bugs me when I have had to do one previously. It may fix it. 9 out of 10 times it does.
EDIT: I'm at work so my replies may be a little sporadic or so, but I'll be around to help.

the number says SM-N900W8, it's running 4.3, NOT rooted, bone stock, no mods... I just got the phone 2 days ago

I don't remember what the number was, but I'm pretty sure it was in the 700kb....

okay, so I ended up just doing a factory reset... and in the process... there was a system update. I have a feeling when I got the phone at the store, I was flying through the setup process and skipped it. As of right now, it looks like it's working fine :fingers-crossed:

okay... so I wanted to post an update. Truthfully, the issue started up AGAIN! I was sooooo annoyed, I didn't want to post because I figured it was frustrating others reading my issue. Apparently, I wasn't the only person having this issue. I did some search and came across a thread over at Android Central...

anyways, the trick is to uninstall the latest version of Google Search update. JUST TO CLARIFY, this does NOT mean you're actually uninstalling Google Search (because, I mean... there's no way I'd ever use Bing or Yahoo search :laugh: )
You go to your Google Play Store, search "Google Search" and the app will come up... it's already installed so you'll get the options of "Open" or "Uninstall".... You click on "Uninstall" and ONLY the latest version of Google Search will be uninstalled... Google Now, Google Search WILL still be there... But this issue will be gone
So, needless to say, the latest version of Google Search has some kind of bug with TouchWiz or whatever.
Hope this help others in the future

Yes im having this issue too and reverting back to the older version is the solution. This phone has given me many bugs. Totally aint worth the money.

I had this problem and then removed the updates. However, I now see a new update for Google Search dated January 9, 2014. Has anyone tried this update to see if the problem persists?
Maybe tonight I will give it a go.

No more touchwiz problem
:good: After upgrading Google Search to the January 9, 2014 yesterday, I have had no more problems with Touchwiz Home stopping notice. It has been about 24 hours since I updated it.
I guess Google resolved the bug.

I'm facing this issue after update to kitkat. I can't uninstall google search update as the version installed in the rom is the last one. Pop up is very boring What can I do ?

S6/Edge fingerprint scanner error/does not recognize.Backup password not work[SOLVED]

Issue:
If you have issues with "fingerprints" not showing in lockscreen and only you have the option of "backup password", this might be helpful.
My story in brief:
It was working as expected earlier today but in the past few hours the fingerprint sensor did not accept any ones it knew (I have both myself and my two colleagues' in there in case somebody is incapacitated).
1. There was no option of "fingerprints" on the lockscreen.
2. It also did not accept my backup password.
3. It also did not accept my google account too.
I have tried resetting it through google several times. It has never taken the changed passwords.
Solution:
Option A*:
Keep trying the passwords until you get the option to "sign-in" using "google account".
If you manage to use it, then reset your fingerprints and write the backup password somewhere handy and safe. (You never know when this costly edge will lock you out!!!)
But this didn't work for me as well.
Option B*:

Now it is upon you to use fingerprints in future or other options for screen locking.

My screen is unlocked but trying to set up fingerprints. After several attempts it did not recognize my fingerprints and resorted to asking for my backup password. I've tried every combination of passwords I have used in the past and can't find one that works. Is there any way to bypass this to get back to the fingerprint recognition screen without a factory reset? My phone is not locked, I'm just trying to set up the fingerprint, all the information I've found so far tells me how to unlock my phone but nothing about getting past this.

Option A*:

1.Go to your settings.
2.Go to applications.
3.Then tap on application manager.
4. Scroll to your right so you come to the ''ALL'' page.
5. Scroll down to finger print.
6. Tap on CLEAR DATA.

But the discussion I mentioned was the scenario when you are/were unable to get into the phone since it was locked by fingerprint and pasword not working.

Guys I spent around 15 hours trying to unlock my samsung galaxy s6, and found a solution. You're welcome. You need google acc+dont need a connection turned on already for this to work (worst case scenario).
It didnt recongnize my fingerprints, and my backup password didnt work. I couldnt sign in to my google account since my wifi and mobile data was turned off before the device locked.
This is the solution i found AFTER 15 hours of this madness, you need to be quick:
1) enter wrong backup password 5 times
2) wait 30 secounds countdown
3) enter wrong backup password 5 times
4) wait 30 secounds countdown
5) select sign in with google account
6) enter google account credentials (DONT SIGN IN YET)
7) hold 'wake up button' (home button)
8) press emergency mode and go thru with aggreeing to all it asks you to
9) press TURN ON, and after that press 'sign in' with your google account (where step 6 left off)
If you were quick enough, you will enter emergency mode and you will pass the lock screen, now quit the emergency mode the same way and change your backup password, and write it down this time so this doesnt happen again. You are wellcome.

Hi. I'm now on 24 hours trying to unlock 6edge. I tried ADM and that did not work. Then tried find my mobile but remote control must be off. I never got the option to use my Google account and I need to wait an hour between each attempt to unlock. Anyone have any ideas before I do factory reset?

Hard Reset your device:
Turn off the device.
Once the phone is off, hold the volume up, home, and power buttons down simultaneously. Continue to hold this combination while the phone boots, until the screen shows the Android Robot.
After a few moments, you will have access to the phone’s boot menu. Using the volume up/down buttons to navigate, and the power button to make selections, find and select the Wipe Data/Factory Reset option.
Scroll down to Yes, delete all user data, and press the power button once again. You will notice script scrolling along the bottom of the screen, which will end in Data Wipe Complete.
Once the operation is complete, press the power button once more to reset the device.
The phone has now been returned to factory settings, and you no longer have to worry about that lost password. Just make sure that you remember your new one.

Hi, I got the same problem too.
Currently, I try to remember the password. Do anybody know the minimum word/character/number for backup password ? I remember that I use the minimum character when I create password.

We can unlock our Samsung fingerprit lock without lose our data in few simpel steps (may be repeat several times)
This method applicable for Emergency Mod enabled devises like A5 6 , A7 6, S6 models.S7 models etc
* insert sim with active intenet connection (3G recommend)
* switch on the device & go to backup password then select unlock via google
* enter your id & password (don't sign in)
* long press on power button & enable emergency mod At same time you give sign in to your google account (you get only few seconds to take action)
* if you are lucky the phone will be unlock in first attempt outher wise you repeat these procedures several times your devise must be unlock)

Samsung gives emergency mod for their customers to ask help from others in a emergency situation. If we select emergency mod the phone connect to the Internet for few seconds. At that Second if we give sign in the phon will be unlock.

Anyone have a working .some Google Phone Dialer ?

I prefer the stock Google Phone dialer over all others. I tried to install several different .APK from the website with all the Google Phone downloads. But none of them would install or work.

I've been running Google Dialer with LG G6 for a couple of weeks... here's what I did...
1. Install the APK from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-dialer-t3557412
2. After installation, go into Settings, General, Phone Management, Apps.
3. Click the three dots menu and select Configure Apps.
4. Select Phone App, and change that over to the Phone with the blue background (the alternative is LG's Contacts) and click OK.
5. Click on the Special Access at the bottom of that screen. Select Modify System Settings and find the Phone app. Grant it rights to modify system settings.
6. I like to explicitly grant the phone app permissions now, rather than waiting for it later. So I granted all permissions up-front. Back out to the Apps screen and find the Phone app. Click permissions and flip the slider to the right to enable all permissions.
7. Launch the phone app and sign-in to your google account.
You may want to swap out the phone on the lock-screen and launcher as well...

I have not been able to swap out the phone shortcut on the lockscreen unfortunately. It seems the stock phone app is a default that can't be changed.
Thanks for the guide by the way. The stock phone app was aweful. Any way to get the Google contacts app too?

I tried the same with google dialier, but it disappeared after being called once ! Will try again.

I have the APKMirror install of Google Dialer working just fine. Didn't run into the issue with dialer disappearing. However, I installed the Dialer from the XDA Forum that I referred to in a previous post.

I was able to swap out the phone by going to Settings, Display, Lock Screen, Shortcuts. From there tap on the phone icon (defaults to the far left) and an app list pops up. You need to select the "Phone" app with the blue icon - the green one is the LG-native phone app.

Thanks for the quick guide , it worked great. Finding it slightly sluggish for some reason though
The lock screen shortcut option only appears if you disable screen pin/fingerprint

I've always used Google Dialer v3.xxxx rc4 (forget the exact version but it's 3.something rc4), which is the latest version that is able to properly look up phone numbers of places by name on all my non-Nexus/Pixel devices

I just deleted them from the lock screen. Never use them anyway. Double press volume down opens the camera.

Same problem here software ver: V10k-AUS-XX Google Dialer & Contacts installed and working perfectly THX for the how to, Just cant get rid of that stinking green piece of turd on the lock screen no matter what I try. Hate little anoying probs like this LG @ times u suck!!!

Hey Gewecht what colour is your in call back ground? I have a LG G6 I get a quick flash of the nice Google blue then it turns a not so nice Turquoise green.
I tried the work around in the Google Dialer main post but no luck as the G6 has no option to change the sim back ground colour. I'm guessing the only way is to disable the stock phone app which the option is greyed out!!

How do I make it so when I receive a call on my lock screen the blue color fills the top notification area and the navigation area at the bottom? See screenshot.

You go to the Settings app, go to Display settings, tap on App Scaling, find the app (it would be in 16:7.9 aspect ration) and tap it, and thusly make it a forced 18:9 aspect ratio. After this, your application should be formatted to support the LG G6's 18:9 display. Trust me, I had to do this with Lawnchair Launcher and a Pixel 2 Launcher (mod) in order to get it to all fit. I hope this helps you ??.
