is there a How-To for rooting from Linux bootcd ?

have a bootcd for Kubuntu 9 Carmic Koala.
is there a how-to for rooting from the bootcd without installing anything?

check the how to root the htc aria topic. the same rules apply with a linux live cd and linux install.

Read the post because it states for the prerequisites: "If you're in Linux, you only need to do Step 4, Step 6, and Step 7." then follow the rest of the guide.
your going to need the android sdk for linux though so you can adb to the device.

any directions on how it is applied in a BOOTCD only system where nothing is changed on system?
ie. where downloaded? how installed? where?
yes, I read the post previously but there is a dearth of information on how-to for linux, yet many posts recommend doing the rom flash/root in linux

You just download the sdk. There are no drivers for your phone for linux. I used an ubuntu x86 cd and when you run adb for the first time it installs the service and you just go from there.

[Q] how to unpack squashed.sqsh in NAND android builds ??

hi ..
the title says it all ,,
i want to make some changes on the squashed.sqsh file but i can't cause it is read only !!
so is there a way to unsquash it or unpack it and then resquash the file ??
i did some search and found out that this could only be done on linux so i went and downloaded the latest Ubuntu build
and tried this command
"sudo squashfs /home/'user'/desktop/extract /home/'user'/desktop/squashed.sqsh"
the file is on my desktop
but i get command not found ..
i searched and found that i need to download "squashfs-tools" and i did download version 4.1
but now how do i install it ??
the read me says that i have to use "make" command but i don't know how to use it !!
i also searched and it is all complicated and i couldn't figure out the way to install it !!
this is my first time using linux !!
please help cause as for now Android on NAND is pretty much useless for me !!
i'll be sure to make a guide after this .. for people who want to modify the squashed.sqsh file ..

Help installing Plasma Active

I am a noob at linux commands. I have read the instructions Here and managed to format the device into ext4.
But the next step when mounting it says cannot mount /sdb. i mounted it with disks program but then i dont know what foo is, how to create /mnt/foo.
Please if any of you have done it, can you provide step by step instructions, and please don't assume i might know things, as said earlier i am a total noob.

[Q] Android SDK Emulator

Hi! i'm trying to emulate my own custom rom but i can't.
I searched tutorials, but anything, always the same problem, black screen.
list of the steps what i followed:
1) install android SDK
2) create a avd, name SGY
3) copy my system.img into the SGY folder of avd.
4) on linux terminal emulator run "./emulator SGY -system "/path/to/systemimg/system.img"
anybody knows what i'm doing wrong?

Hi, could someone kindly point me in the direction of where I might find a copy of Tennear's axon7tool for linux please ?
The links in other threads have all expired and I don't have access to a windows system to use the x64 version.
