Seems to be the O2 equivalent of the T-Mobile MDAIII!!

it says that this model will have built-in Blackberry fuctionality. Would anyone here know if this is a hardware revision on the XDAII or just a software revision?
If its only a software revision, we can probably install an application to have this fuctionality on our XDAII.

Please make any comments on Tekguru guys as O2 are monitoring replies. Cheers.

1.72 rom can be found by searching for RUU172*
I used the Qtek version, but as far as OS & Radio are concerned both are equal.
For the ExtRom i used my own cooked one, search for 1.72.900

Though i am not an expert, i really doubt that this is possible?! It was also not possible to get WM5 on WM2003 Devices... but i will be glad to be proven wrong

Technically it would be possible.
But we all depend on the manufacturers. If they don't supply us with upgrades, there's no way we can upgrade. So asking for it is of no use.

...For other HTC Devices Crossbow is now "online". I think our Artemis is a good Device and a base for the new Crossbow.

You could look to the magician forum and the number of threads there sugesting the release or possible release of the WM 5 update for the Magician.
But it never came.
If it comes it wil. There's no point to ask for is if it comes out it wil be on this site and forum. Its just foolish jiberish to keep asking for it. Its the same as all the people asking for an hack for the Hero devivce to enable wifi. But its simply not possible. But there are already 20 threads suggesting it....

Today, my cousin had just installed the WM6.0 in his O2 Xda MiniS, and when i saw it, i was thrilled! its super fast! it looks real cool, and the contacts, dialer and inbox are wonderful!
only thing is it requires Activesync 4.50 beta to sync.
The WM6.0 is testing roms are out for the Universal and the Mini S, and soon i hope someone comes up for the Artemis too!

Yeah, if ya don't ask, ya don't get!! Somebody might be sat at home with the rom we want, thinking no one else is bothered, so they keep it to themselves. I know there is several differences between Artemis & Phophet, but might it be possible to flash with 1 of there Roms?? Just asking!!?? No need to bite my head off, Manners cost nothing.

as far as i know this device only accepts signed code in roms....so unless some one cracks the boot loader you will never be able to flash a custom rom...
in another hand .....i heard that there is a a test crossbow rom for your device,being tested by internal testers.....but this roms rarely see the light of the day.... but you never know.

We are close to that in Artemis... they should be able soon

The HTC Wizard + HTC Universal (which are designed as WM5 devices) have WM6 ROMs so.. there's a really BIG chance that the HTC Artemis will get the WM6 update too..
WM6 a.k.a. Crossbow is just a ROM that has some updates + new theme..
Why is it called WM6 then? Cuz people are bored and they're really waiting for some NEW sh*t! It just counts as a lil entertainment for us while we're waiting.

I was wondering, once there is ROM available for P3300 based on Crossbow "WM6", for this to be lfashed and updated to newer WM will I also need to CID unlock the phone first, as I am unable to flash other ROMs as of now.
Frankly speeking, ~$40 is steep price for unclocking, around $20 would be OK (please consider this ... to unlockers)

If a update is released by your manufacturer you would not need to unlock but if for instance you have a t-mobile phone and dopod comes with wm6, and you want to use that rom you would have to cid unlock.

If and when you do a search on Google, you will most likely find website that will unlock your machine for about $7
Not saying that this will work on yours, but if you really want to be on the safe(save) side, just pay the $40 and you'll be 100% sure that it works.

Now, this is why they didn't give WM5 to Alpine!

Well, officially, even the BA didnt get any upgrade. May be it was due to the fact that most of the MS employees were using himalaya or BA at that time. So the build was only prepared for them

WM6 - How long (and dificult) it is to get !?!

Today I was talking with Mrs. XXXX from HTC Brazil (yes they have a local plant here now) and after 10 times asking for the holly wm6 ROM, she said:
ME- Please share with me, I will not post anywhere
Mr.sXXX - Ok, phelipe , I will try my best...
So now , with a litle hope, maybe we have a chance...
I tried to search at PDA MOBIZ and PDA VIET but nothing published at this time....
I don't know about you guys, but for me, its taking too long for a leaked...

You might want to keep that info under your hat, if you follow...

let's just say if i do share this ROM, there will be no more testing for me in the future and also i will be in deep trouble. It's a risk i can't take. But good news is I can confirm the WM6 update is coming really soon now.

Sorry to be the one to ask this but what is considered soon? By the end of the month. I can't wait for the stability of WM6. I was spoiled with my Hermes. I forgot what it was like to run WM5.

there you go, someone answer for me. Official release is said to be out next month. I will be getting beta version at the end of the month of beginning of next month. Hopefully they won't delay on the official release.
p.s. Oh, by the way, this time line only applys to DOPOD, HTC might have similar time line too. But T-mobile Ameo user should expect a slide delay if T-mobile ever wanted to release the WM6 for Ameo.

We know about the official release from Dopod, but this ~internal beta testing~ is really internal.
Someone needs to share, the potential of this device only will be explored with WM6...
Meanwhile , I'm still using my Universal....

Yes it is. I had a Hermes for the past 10 months and upgraded to WM6 as soon as XDA came out with it. Even from the very first beta versions it was more stable and faster than an official WM5 version. And remember the WM6 versions I was using had been hacked up and stuff added and taken away. Even with all that I would never soft reset it during the day to unfreeze it or to get the memory back that programs had leaked. Grant it there were still programs that had problems due to incompatibility with WM6. But overall it is a faster and smoother operating system.

according to HTC europe, the release date for the Athena's WM6 is early September...

It wont matter, come August Advantage X7501 is out which ships with WM6. Once someone gets hold of this we will get a ported WM6 ROM.

the x7501 ROM won't work on X7500, these two machine are not identical. You still need the wm6 update of x7500

I'm pretty confident given the Vast similarities of the devices someone on these boards will be able to easily and readily do the port. Therefore I confer my previous statement that once X7501 is released, we will have a WM6 ROM, none of this waiting for September business.

that is very true, anyway, from what i know and the beta testing going on, the wm6 is still possible to be launch in July, so if lucky, you will get it before x7501 comes out. Second, don't forget you need to CID Unlock your device before flashing x7501.

Yes you can use the HTC one, go to the Athena Mobile 6 threads, loads of info on it.
T-Mobile does not have a website which has Ameo files on it.
There is a TMOB005 ROM out there, or unlock using OliPro's tools and use HTCs ROM...

but to get the htc rom and software, i have to sign in in htc web, havent i??

With the greatest of respect, and given that you sound like you are just exploring for the first time with the Ameo, can I suggest that you do a lot of reading and searching on this and the Athena Mobile 6 forum so you don't end up with a brick rather than a phone.
