Sure there is... just read the manual. There is a program on you trinity which in my german trin is called "Internet Freigabe". Start it and you'll be fine.
i can't find that program, anyone know what the name of it is in english? I'm running the dopod wm6 version
Should be an app called "Internet Sharing"

Yes, just run the Internet Sharing App, but first you have to make sure you disable USB connections in activesync. Here's a quickstart guide I found useful from 3: http://203.210.124.136/3/three/pdf/Dopod D810 modem manager quick start guide.pdf
Just install activesync and then follow the instructions from page 2.

Anybody used the wmodem successfully with the pc before with magician through USB?
I always get an error 734. If i try to use the windows dialer and turned on the terminal, i see lots of garbage.
I also want to use the wmodem to connect to CSD line instead of GPRS... i mean by using windows dialer dialing the magician to connect to the internet.
My purpose is to dial-up to my customer's site using my XDA II Mini but use my computer's PC Anywhere to troubleshoot their computer... right now i can't do anything.
Appreciate if anyone knows whats wrong and why i can't even connect to the GPRS through wmodem. I have no problem if connect it directly using the device even with CSD lines.
I'm wondering if it is possible to have the Wizard function as a wifi-adapter in for instance Windows XP through USB, so you can hook up your phone to a usb port and Windows 'sees' it as a network device allowing you to set up a wireless connection through it.
Has anyone seen a tool for accomplishing this? I searched the forums, but did not find anything useful, mainly things about the wizard being unable to connect and stuff
Thanks in advance.
No...Internet Sharing is not available for WLAN adapter...

I didn't mean it that way, maybe I was a bit unclear What I meant was using the phone as something that shows up in "network connection" on the pc, i.e. a 'wireless network adapter'.
i am looking for the same answer may be
spone1 does not want to buy wifi card ..rather wizard has buitin wifi card.. can that card be used instead if PC and Wizard are connected via usb cable???
(Wizard has built in GPRS/EDGE Modem ..and it allows PC desktop to use that GRPS/EDGE modem for internet access )
wm5torage does similar
it captures the usb and turns the wizard card reader to a device like those multicard readers. Something that captures the wifi device on the wizard and introduces to a computer though usb like a wifi usb stick might be possible, as well as the camera as a webcam or any other device on the pda (as long as the device is not used by the os at all times). But some hacker should get interested in this I guess... I know which wifi wizard uses it should be tnet
would be a nice feature...they already have progs that let you use the camera was a webcam as well...even a wireless webcam...wm5torage does a good job of being a memory stick...wifi card would be interesting...
huh? which program lets you use thez camera wirelessly?
This question has also been answered in one of my articles - please DO follow the General forum, it's in there that I cross-post them.

no. he means using your phone as a wireless network card in your pc.
example :
-----------
you have 2 computers at home, one has a wireless network card the other does not.
you plug your phone into the pc without a network card. and connect to the wireless pc using your phone as a wireless network card.
not sharing internet between phone and pc or between 2 pda's.
using your pc to connect to other pc's, with your phone acting as a wireless network card.
basicly turning your PDA into a wireless USB network adapter....
This would be really usefull, and if someone knows a method please post it.
So that's what I say.
The "Internet Sharing" program in WM6 actually appears as a virtual network connection in host PC which provides gateway connection with a IP of 192.168.0.x (Just like using ICS). However it is available for GPRS connection only.
Well I know the MDA has the ability to use the program "modem link" but from what I can tell, the computer needs a driver for it to recognize the pda as a usb modem...any ideas?

You need the modemdriver for that. But also the internet connection to the wizard as a virtual modem gives only GPRS-internet, and not WIFI.

link for the modem driver...
I feel incredibly stupid right now...I didn't notice the driver was on the OEM disc...
EDIT: Just thought I'd share that using the wizard as a modem works like a charm! I'm on it now, and its actually pretty quick to load webpages, though it only connects at 230kbps (Still WAY faster than our regular dial up modems). Just dont try and download anything! :-D
No one know how to using wifi mobile as a USB WLAN adapter?
come on ,somebody help us
I am wandering if there is a way to share my internet connetion between my alltel ppc 6800 with the new htc shift. I know how to link the phone with my laptop but I am currently looking at purchasing the shift to replace it and was wandering if the connection would work. If anyone has tried this please post.
P.S. the connection would be via bluetooth unless I converted the mini usb from the ppc 6800 to usb back to usb to plug into the shift. Thanks.
not sure if it could be done with BT, pretty sure it cant be done with USB (unless the shift can operate in host mode)
what should work is wifirouter (im sure the shift has wireless)
ok so how would i get the connection to work through a router? The only internet connection i have is through the ppc 6800.
nono, wifirouter is an app that you would run on your 6800, it essentially turns it into a wireless access point that other wifi enabled devices can use for internet access
where is the app available for download at?
Is that the only way it would work or could I configure the 6800 as a modem to connect?
ok I downloaded the app but still cant connect. I am trying the connection via my laptop and it stops at waiting for Internet connection sharing. is there some setting that needs to be changed or what am i doing wrong?
You ever figure out how to get the internet on your pda using the 6800 and the connection? I would like to do this bluetooth with my setup.
The newest version of WMWiFiRouter ($$$) allows you to do this over wifi, BT, or USB. If you have the money, it's a great program.
I have WMWifiRouter and use it with my laptop. How do i use it with bluetooth to get internet on my Dell X51? The x51 wants to dial a number when you setup a connection.
OK, I have a jasjam with all the factory provider settings for internet. All works well. But how do I connect to a laptop and use the jasjam's internet on the laptop?
My moto has phone tools that does this. But I wanna do it with my jasjam... Help anyone?

Yeah it's fairly simple. Make sure Activesync 4.5 is installed on your laptop (don't know if you need it if you use Vista)
Connect your laptop to the device with USB cable.
On your device start Internet Sharing (if it doesn't have it then you will need to install a ROM that does... pretty much all cooked ROMS do)
Then click connect... give it a few seconds and you should be able to connect to internet via your phone's internet connection
You can also do this via bluetooth. First go to Internet Sharing and instead of USB select 'Bluetooth PAN' in the drop down box
Click connect...
Then only your Laptop in Control Panel> Networks tell it to connect to Bluetooth Pan and you should be done.
You can even do this via Wifi but you need to get commerical software called WMWifiRouter
Cheers. I found that the bluetooth I was using was a little complicated. Ended up using an older stick and it works great. Thanks.
I have been searching the forum and the wiki for over an hour and am finding tons of old 2003/2004 threads, and some mid 2008 threads with no responses, about using WModem to provide internet connection.
I want to use my HTC Kaiser over 3G as an internet connection. How do I achieve this? I am using WModem but I have no drivers for it on my computer, and dont want to dial through AT&T's service. The USB_MODEM.zip file links were all old and no longer around.
Any help would be appreciated.
If you just want Internet access the use then Internet Sharing application in Windows Mobile (assuming its in your ROM, if not I think the .cab for it is available?). Assuming your PC is XP and its connected via USB with ActiveSync then it's all pretty automatic.
You need to ensure you have Internet access from the PDA (i.e. you can browse the internet over 3G, GPRS etc), you then start Internet Sharing, select PC Connection USB, and set the 'Network Connection' to your Internet connection (3G, GPRS) and then click 'Connect'. ActiveSync will stop and your PC will discover a new Network Interface (Windows Mobile Internet Sharing Device I thin kit appears as) and thats it. The WM device acts as a DHCP Server & DNS proxy. I use this quite often and it's pretty good - I have a Kaiser and get a good HSDPA connection at home, the connection can vary with travelling though.
If you want to use the PDA as a Modem then you need the Modem Link application (this is where you need to install the Modem Drivers on the PC). I have used this as well but with less sucess.

Do you know where the cab for Internet Sharing is? I am failing at using WModem right now.
