For some odd reason, my 8525 randomly turned itself off and now when I charge it, only the red light comes on and doesnt change into an Amber light. Something tells me my battery might have kicked the bucket but can anyone confirm this at all for me?

I have read alot about people complaining about the AMBER LED being still on despite the full charge for even over a night!
I don't know if anyone tried this but I did and it worked. Keep the device on while charging -disable the power management- and sure you will have the AMBER for few hours til it reaches 100% when you shall get the GREEN LED. In my case I use a special screen saver that slide-show a set of pix during the recharge period.
The question now is; would the screen get damaged after sometime having it on for periods like 8hrs? I mean does it lose brightness or quality after a while?
Pls advise.
Personally I use spb pocket plus which clearly displays the charge % on screen so I don't even look at the colour of the light.
opposite problem
this is crazy but i get the oppositie thing. My main battery is supposed to be 100% charged so it's supposed to be charging the backup batter. What it does after a while is switching on from the orange light to the green light - although it hasn't finished charging. Once I disconnet the cable and connect it again then it become orange again and probably starts to charge for once again? what's wrong with it?

I know my mda has a red - orange - green (bi)LED and a blue LED.
Yesterday my battery was very low, but i couldn't charge it because i wasn't home. I thought that it wouldn't be a problem, i 've backups at home, etc, so i didn't worry... When i was back home i tried to charge it, but when a do so, a red light shows up and after a while it changes to blue.
Does anyone know what's wrong or at least know what the different colours mean?
tested the battery -> full
tested my battery in another phone.. was completely full, so the charging is not a problem, but i'm afraid my phone is dead...
i know this is probly going to sound stupid, but i am having an issue with my mda having its once blinking orange light not in a constant red glow..... and usually that mean electronic death.....
so my question is has anyone else experienced this, is it a sign its time to get a new phone, or is it nothing to be concerned about??

Is it plugged in when it is solid? If so it just means that it is charging and the battery is not at full capacity. If it is plugged in unplug it and see if it starts to flash once there is no USB or wall charger plugged into it.
Sounds serious. I'm pretty sure `the greyzter` is aware if it is caused by battery charging or not, and futher, the orange and red colour can be easily differentiate. Even in the battery charging mode, it should be a solid orange rather than solid red (unless the green dot in the LED is no longer working). I hardly see the red coming on other than the time when the battery level is seriously low.
yeah hamnin (by the way, you are my mda diety and i and my mda worship you), your are right, its not plugged in at all, ive tried plugging in in then unplugging, powering it off and on, powering it off when plugged into both the charger and to my computer..... im at a lost..... but strangely everything seems to be in order.....
Has anyone else noticed when you plug in the Phone to be recharged, occasionally the 'red' indicator does not come on or disappears?
It's now happened to me several times ~ I plug the Phone in for a recharge, initially the red light comes on then after a few seconds it goes out leaving no indication if it's charging or when it's complete.

Read this that i posted several days ago and check your charger

"Wiggle" the charger around and see if the charge light goes on and off!

Could it due to bad physical connection?
No guys.
I'Ve cheched all connections.
Besides, if I leave it plugged in whilst there is no light showing and switch off the Phone the red charging light then comes on.

Well this is now really starting to bug me.
I've carried out a Hard Reset thinking something was interferring with the charge light procedure but even on a default machine with the device running the red light simply does not come on.
Swith the Phone off, then connect and the red light appears.
So.... when my machine is running I don't get the indicator (but it is charging I know because after leaving it for 30mins I've checked and sure enough it's charging).
Any other ideas???
My Trinity does this when overheating, it stops charging and blinks the LED. Unplug for 10 minutes and replug.

Now that's an answer I was not expecting...... Thanks tnyynt, I'll give that a go on my next charge cycle.

No... that didn't work.... but thanks all the same.
I have now resigned myself to the fact if I want to see the red charging light the only way is to first power down the Phone, then connect to the mains electric and then the red charge light comes on.
If I want I can then switch the Phone back on again whilst charging until the green charged light shows.

I cant turn on my device, the only thing that seems to work is the led, when I turn it on starts on green then orange and finalley red, Does anyone know what happened?
Does it work at all when plugged in to the mains power? Does teh charge led light up to display what is going on? Do you have another device/a multimeter that you can check the battery with. it could be that the battery has died / needs a long charge / doesn't want to work. Hopefully that is what it is, as if not, it could be something a lot more severe.
