Hardware to read/write DOC on your PC

Hello,
I have a HTC Wizard without bootloader. So that device cant not come up. I've searched on the net, m-system give many tool to dump from another then write it again.
But i dont know how to plug DOC into PC? What hardware did you use? How many $ for this? And are there another way to fix that?

VJ is right, you need Jtag programmer to reprogram a IPL/SPL erased DOC, but Jtag can not be connected to DOC directly, so you need to know abut test points to connect Jtag probes to it...
I wonder if HTC has embedded ON-Board DOC programming interface in its devices, because this technique makes DOC reprogramming more easy by connecting some testpoints to initiate on board DOC programming mechanism for onboard mini USB connector...

about Qualcomm diagnose port in Dopod 838 pro

Hi,everyone
I want to handle the Qualcomm diagnose port in Dopod 838 pro.I find the com port name is MSM1:,which is list in Registry->HKLM->Drivers->Active->48.The key is Drivers\BuiltIn\QCT_DIAG.
Now i can write something to this port(such as dial a call use Qualcomm command format,and it dial ok),But the questions is i can not read anything form this port.The C++ code of handle serialport is be used in Xp and PDA base WM5 sucessfully.
Who can tell me the reason?

Forzx, were you ever able to resolve this issue. It seems that an DeviceIoControl command must be sent to the phone to allow reading the port. There is an example that sends the command IOCTL_QCT_REGISTER_EVENT but I do not know the proper value for this. Do you know anything more?

Can the model no. on an iMate be changed

Is there a way to change the model no \ Device ID as indicated in Device Info > Identity ?
Did a search but could not find any info on it.

Model Number can be changed, it is help in nk.exe In the XIP and in the SPL.
The DeviceID is the IMEI, So yes technically (this is in the CID block) but its a damn dodgy area and you can easily get locked up for altering it.

Thanks for the reply. I have no interest in changing the IMEI number. I am hoping there is a way to change the hardware" id. Leaf (www.leaf.co.za) has a free navigation software programe but only for PDA's id'd as HTC. They do not want to support Imate's as they do not have the support contract for Imates.

how to change serial number ?

if we want to change the serial number (not imei) of a dumped rom , how can we do it? i mean how can i change the serial number of hp rw6815 ?

Does it even store the serial number in the dumped ROM? I thought that was hard-coded into the device??

hi all, since i flashed spl all works ok except when I try and install a work application called good mssaging it says unable to retreive handheld serial number and Rom version....is there a way to electronically insert my serial number?
