T-zone tray icon - Wing, P4350 General

Is there any way to remove the t-zones icon from the tray box above the softkeys because i do not use t-zones and i always accidently click it on my wing

from http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1172596&page=3&pp=15&highlight=remove+t-zones+icon
*Tray icons
-Edit registry as follows:
[HKLM\init]
Launch92=
(delete TrayAp.exe)
-Or, if you want to keep some but not all of the icons:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\TrayApplet]
There you'll find listings for each icon (the folders are for the WinWap, MyFaves, and CommManager tray icons). Remove the ones you don't want and soft reset. If you remove the music player settings, you will then have to uncheck the plug-in from Today items.

yeah i tried that but still the t-zone icon is still in the tray

Does anyone know of a good *FREE* registry editor for the wing? Thanks in advance.

I use one called mobile registry editor:
http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx
works great so far on both tmobile MDA and Wing although you'll have to install the microsoft .net framework.

registry edit did not work any suggestions?

Heres what I do
I dont like those little guys there.
it is.
HKLM> Software> HTC> Initial Tray
you can remove any one individually, I just leave on the battery and the device lock,
good free reg edit is PHM regedit

How can I add or delete an icon on the taskbar?
I wanted to remove the icon for manual screen rotation and I want to add some other stuff.
To remove the rotate screen icon goto the registry,
HKey_Local_Mchine\Services\ScreenRotate
change the ShowIcon Value to 0, reboot and it wont be there.
Thanks carnivor. I tried this suggestion from the WiKi, but this did not work for me:
To hide the screen rotation icon:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ROTATION\HideOrientationUI = 1
I'll try your suggestion. How about adding an icon on the taskbar?
cktlcmd: you want to check out PHM Tray Launch to add icons to the tray. There are other commercial solutions as well. And someone else, I forget who, made one called VJTrayLaunch, but it's not very good or recommended over the other offerings.
PHM's website may be down, but I've attached a zip somewhere in a Wizard thread on pop up keyboards. Prize if you can find it.

Thanks Vijay555. I did found PHM Power Toys which included PHM Tray Launch. I just don't know how to install only the PHM tray launch though. I don't want the other clutter. Here is a link: http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/phmpocketpcpowertoys.shtml
Another question please. How do you use PHM Tray launch?
SBSH's iLauncher puts icons in the tray. Definitely the easiest to use (I found the PHM software a bit fiddly and the icons didn't render well) but you do have to pay for it...

Does iLauncher causes any slow downs on the Universal? Can I install it on my SD card or does it have to stay on internal memory?
howsitgoin people
I have located the battericon and screen rotation icone removal, anybody know where the wireless connection removal setting is in the registry.

Hi cktlcmd,
To use PHM TrayLaunch
1) Install PowerToys and copy traylnch.exe out.
2) Remove PowerToys if don't require
3) Put back traylnch.exe and run it
One catch. After each soft reset you'll have to re-activate traylaunch. Any attempt to put in StartUp results in icons not displaying its original self ie. 'Notes-like' icons will be displayed instead.
wiki now updated with all three regedits to do remove the taskbar from the today screen. by removing the icons, the bar is gone by default.

Getting Running programs in the tray

On my XDA mini, I had the convenient little icon in the tray (at the bottom of today screen) that was a shortcut to the running programs box in the settings menu.
How do I enable this on the Wizard? I don't want to have to install a whole task manager program, when the one built in works just fine. I just need to get to it easier.
try WM5NewMenu by saman, where you can set a shortcut for this particular setting, among others, through any of the softkeys or the buttons. it's a drop-down menu list, though, not an icon.

PHMTray.

Thanks, PHM tray is closest to what I was looking for, but is it windows mobile 2003 only?
I really would just like to have that little icon that goes to the memory screen back. The Magician had this, and I think other models do too.
This is the solution
Create a shortcut that has the following contents
44#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4,2?deviceinfo.exe,-103
You can do this by creating a shortcut to any program, then using activesync explorer to find it, copy it, and paste it on the desktop, open it with Notepad, and edit it. Start with a PPC shortcut so that it in the right character set.
Then return it to a folder on the PPC and put it in PHM Traylaunch. It gives you one touch access to the Settings/Memory program. The part after the ? controls the visual icon.
thanks! I'll try this...
though, I am sure this must be possible through some sort of registry setting...
I am digging through my EXTROM on my old XDA mini to see if I can find out
after all this, I just resorted to putting the shortcut in my start menu... it'll do for me I guess... :?
I've attached the link for those who want it.
I like things to be simple. No extra software to install, no complicated settings. Just click it and done!
thanks for all your help guys

Add/remove icons from tray

I already know how to remove the standard icons like the comm manager and the batery icon from the system tray on the bottom of the today screen. But now I have AE Button Plus installed and this program comes with a icon in the tray wich I don't know how to remove.
I also want to add some programs to the tray but I don't know how to do this either.
Is there a program or something with wich you can easely manage these icons?
Please help me out!
Must search!
To add icons to tray, use PHM TrayLaunch or I think SPB has some apps to do the same. I have one, VJTrayLaunch, but it's not recommended over the others.

Try i Launcher from sbsh. That will let you add any icons on the system tray you want plus all your battery , memory and program info on your today screen. Also has a handy task manager incorporated into the program too. You will have to pay for it after a trial run but a great utility.
Hope this helps

Hi V,
PHM TrayLaunch was ok. That's what i was looking for. Thanks!
Now I only still need to figure out how to get rid of the ae button icon in the tray. ..
Hi all,
I tried to install the PHM TrayLaunch on my TyTN, but Activesync doesn't display it as being installed (I downloaded the Activesync .msi installer from the site). Any ideas on this?
Thanks

If it's not absolutely necessary to install that way why not download the cab file move it to sd card via AS explorer and tap on it using TyTn.

Running Programs in Today Screen Tray?

I would like to see the programs that are running down in the system tray on the today screen. You know, the place where you see your battery level and connection manager icons?
Is this possible via a registry hack that anyone knows of?

There are registry tweaks for standard items like battery, clock and so on but AFAIK not ones for all running programmes. There are tons of freeware task manager apps that place running progs in task bar and probably the tray as well. Magic Button for example - but it shows in task bar.

u dont need registry twaeks!!
use some extrernal file explorer.
go to the windows folder and find the power tray file copy paste in the startup folder
soft reset is ready.

Actually this so-called fix does not work. If you put the icon in the startup tray all it does is start the program at start up. So no, it does not put it on the tray.
Try again?
VJTrayLaunch
This is a command line application, and can be used to launch any program or shortcut.
http://vijay555.com/?Releases:VJTrayLaunch
TrayLnch
TrayLnch only 47,9kb
is good for hermes
Can't believe people would pay $13 for this.
I made VJTrayLaunch, which is fine for one or two apps, but I recommend PHM Tray Launch 110%.

Where does that registry entry come from? I'm using WM6 and just can't find it in my registry.
