upgrading
People don't really like to provide answers on this forum. It must be an european thing. I'm a new member and it took me days to find this link. You can go there and cook your own wm2003 rom. It can even be an exe file. The link is:
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
Contact me if it doesn't work and I'll send you mine. It works great and it simply upgraded me to wm2003.

I think you must be referring to another forum, take a look at how many posts I have beside my name and look at others who also have many hundreds, this is the most helpful forum I have ever seen anywhere. Why it took you days to find the address to the rom kitchen is a reflection on your inability to search the forum rather than reluctance of others to reply.

Back to the topic....
I installed the latest A.30.09 from Siemens and it work like a charm but the volume problem...
Now I'm going to swith to a different rom because I'm using TomTom Navigator and the volume problem is very annoying with a GPS system!

i think that the more people hang out in the forum the more fustrated they get posting the same asnwer X times a day
at times people ask a question which is answered in the post right under their post
if search dont work for people who want
1. to get a kitchen url
2. a howto to flash the device using xdatools
then there is something wrong with search on other computers them mine
also many answers are given on the front page of this site
the fustration of being asked the same question over and over again
in the end make the users
1 ignor the question
2 respond rudely
3 stop reading the forum altogether
this is a thing i've notised in forums all over
so i would not asume it a european rudeness issue

What's wrong with providing a link to a good starting ground, as I have in my previous post? Is that not an 'answer' in your books? :?:
I came to this site to learn how to flash my XDA to WM2003.. I have less than 10 posts, yet none of them asked "how to flash?" I simply utilized the search feature and was able to find everything that I wanted to know, and more... much more...
No Offense
I apologize if I've offended anyone. It was simply out of frustration. I was tired of people reffering me to a search page that always returned about 150 posts. It is probably my lack of searching ability. I've used other forums and I know people get tired of answering the same questions. Links to the answers would suffice instead of referals to the search page. My apologies once again since my SX56 would be a paperweight if not for this forum. You guys are simply geniuses.
i dont think people got offended really
and everybody get fustrated
it's all apart of being alpha centruian ups i mean human yeah human
note to self damm i've already said to much!

Re: upgrading
Regarding the recent update to WM2003.
Do you find that your XDA now turns itself to ON every now and then without any prompting? (This occurs when you go in and out of coverage areas.) I found this to happen with every version of WM2003 that I could put together and burn. I like to keep the screen and unit on for a while when I use it and don't have my power usage settings set conservatively. But when WM2003 is on it, it will eat up my battery super fast. I may be driving in my car and have it dash mounted (but without power assist) and watch it turn on every 3 to 4 minutes as I go along. This can also occur when just sitting in one spot if the coverage fluctuates too much the WM2003 turns itself ON without intervention.
Does anyone have a solution or fix for this? Is this happening to anyone else? WM2003  :? :x
It happens to me evrytime (twice a day) when I access metro.
This "feature" really sucks...
The worst thing is that I couldn't do anything with the registry entry like one discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9412 :?

None taken, at least not here All I'm saying is that the search feature works wonders... yes you may get 150 results, but take an extra 5, 10 mins to sift through them and you'll usually find what you're looking for. I usually focus on the posts with higher number of replies...

Hey, for the next time - please use punctuation marks. This is imho terrible to read...
What exactly is "program to unloked cid" ? Are talking about USPL ?
Did you try flashing your phone again ? No? Try it....

I understand you expect everyone new to read everything available on the subject before asking for help on some stuff that's been talked about very much, but please understand how hard it is for newcomers.I bought my UNI 7 days ago and i'm in the same situation, but i read a lot every day,i wanted to learn how to safely flash it to 6.1.The more i read the more i am scared and understand less and less. There are so much names and terms and stuff which makes us dizzy.I posted once for help,i got instructions but was not enough.I decided not to flash,i'm not capable. But i read still everything on that subject.Even though i'm an advanced pc user i have difficulty to get this new stuff straight. So i understand that sometimes someone just got to simply ask. Thanx for understanding
It's all in the wiki. You don't need to read everything. Just what's relevant to you at that particular moment in time. Then when you want to do something else then read up about that.
Oh and WM6 on the uni does NOT support videocall.
Off you go and enjoy.

Gene wiki

Wiki for Gene is available at:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Gene
Added:
Registry tweaks to automatically disconnect GPRS connection after a specific amount of time.
It was available since i first visited this forum Many people dont actually go to wiki pages and prefer to get confused by reading here and there. I am glad you did opposite of the what masses do. And added to it too
Hey should i also make my tutorial a page in wiki?

I think it will be a great idea, actually thats what I was intending, most experienced users first try the wiki page. Actually I was pretty surprised not to find it in the Gene page. Hope you don't mind checking the Vox wiki page, it will give you some idea how to go about it. I know you can do it .
Ya, will give it a shot tonight. Hey, did you tried that battery icon dll that a guy posted in the Stickey thread? Its great! Show you percentage of battery discharged in the intervals of 1% on the top of battery bar. I am thinking about including it in next version of ROM
warranty void??

For minor problem you can bring your device to your friend Rakesh thats me,
and the default WM version for new gene is 6.0 not 6.1,
@rakesh4utoo
yaa yaa sure
but if i want to replace the screen then only they can do that naa
2350 mAH battery
do gene supports 2350 mah battery ??
bcos as most of the senior members saying that wizards battery is supported by gene
wizard also supports 2350 and 2850 mah battery costing 1000 bucks approx

Actually a separate thread is a better idea than using just any thread,
Battery calibration added.
Update through SD Card
Added under Gene Upgrading Problems
01.08.2009: Gene Images updated by Ankit360
01.08.2009: How to enter boot loader added.
i m thinking to cleanup gene-upgrading sub forum just like ppl do it devlopment-and-hacking sub forum
we remove all sticky from here and put all thread link to with nice description in wiki only one sticky remain here which redirect user to wiki
if anybody like idea, plz reply.
if the users will finally have to open the post linked in wiki then there is no need to put them in wiki n unstuck them. Just my opinion, no offense.

hmm but forum look ugly if some more sticky added. also some sticky thread are not useful after some time. eg. if somebody remember my XIP porting thread which ppl stick long time ago but current new kitchen don't need xip porting so I removed if myself.
also currently two kitchen thread has sticky if we combine both, also there r three diffrent sticky thread only for upgrading and know how to HSPL phone if we combine all it's good for new ppl + forum look clean.
Yupe I agree, even Da_g 6.5 thread use to be sticky. There are too much of unecessary sticky ,like how to create packages ,when one software(cab2oem2newKitchen) can do easily . May it is time when the thread starter request the moderator.or someone else request the moderator.

Spaceman Rom Discussion

So as you may know i am professiona rom maker so i am today to make a 4.2 rom with similar things and also the base off slimbean rom so ill be ready to release i need to people who have skype that wanna help and also beta test to post skype so we can talk or w e
Really? You may want to try and use a more "professiona(l)" approach to whatever it is you are trying to do.
e.g. Spelling/Grammar, previous "ROMs", credentials regarding where your previous "ROMs" have been used - doesn't look like XDA judging by your low post count and "Member" status.
Surprise us.
Well dont hate ok at least i know how to make roms yea my posts are low no judging but ill need a beta tester soon
Hmm...
"at least i know how to make roms"
That's not the best thing to say when starting off here.
One word: Credibility.

Lol fail much?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium HD app
Lol no i dont fail much
Its not rudeness to ask for some information .
You claim to be a professional rom builder that is earn from building roms so its natural that users on XDA want to know what you are bringing to the table .So far we know that its built by a professional rom builder it will be based upon slimbean and that you have posted multiple same topics on XDA .
Not very professional your original post and replies more like a school kid .
Judged by your past posts their is no way on earth you are actually a professional rom builder .
I see a mod has already took exception to your posts .
as below

I find your post very discerning you actually think that someone is going to post every rom that is available for the vivid. There is a section called development which contains every rom that is available on xda for this phone.
Xda is not a place where you are going to be spoon fed. We expect you to do some research and read, read and read some more.
Maybe your just trolling

and just one month ago Mr pro rom builder you post.

Is it just me or are posts which completely lack punctuation a complete eye-sore to read? I mean, to be professional, one has to act professional, and there's no way someone who writes posts absent punctuation will ever be taken seriously.
Secondly, have you even asked any of the Slim Bean team members if it's okay to base your rom off of theirs?
what i can make roms i know how and im going to ok please give me a break im on working on getting my rom to boot for htc vivid ok then ill work on this one for you guys
This thread is hilarious to say the least.
in before lock ?
Nope but im going to now so gimme a few i gotta message em now
Reporting this poster as i am very suspicious of his motives let the mods deal with it .
