Well, i have one of these HSDPA USB Modems and a QTek BlueAngel .
Unfortunately my PDA doesn't support HSDPA, so i was thinking: Is there any way of using a USB adapter with my modem?
Theorically it should work, because although the mobile itself doesn't support 3g or "3.5g", the USB Modem does everything for the phone and sends only the data, right? Or am i wrong?
If i'm right, is there any way of doing this right? Where can i get proper drivers and software?
BTW, the Modem is a HUAWEI E220.
the pda would have to support usb host and BlueAngel
and most others for that matter dont

You can download modem driver from the same site.
It is important to turn off ActiveSync, otherwise it won't work.

Hello,
I have a T-Mobile XDA-I with wmodem ROM. I want to use it as a wireless modem, but the trouble is that I have USB-craddle only, and wmodem offers me to select Serial or IrDA connection. Can I use it through the USB somehow? My laptop has no COM ports either (and my craddle is a USB one)...
Thank you!
Hi People,

There are no modem drivers for the mini, that's why you're breaking your head! The preinstalled modem application allows connections through IR, BT and USB.
Hi, all.
I can't connect Qtek (neither 9000 nor 110) to Notebook via irda (win xp).
I run wmodem on Qtek as it's described in manual, and choose emulate wireless modem via irda, but windows doesn't recognise it as irda modem. It connects, but offer file transfer only.
I tried to setup modem manually on windows first - but which port should i select? It doesn't cleary mentioned in manual... In other words - who successfully connected Qtek with PC via irda, please tell me how.
Thanks.
P.s. Notebook easily recoginzes and installs Samsung mobile phone via IRDA and works perfectly. And Qtek connects as USB modem fine also.
Does anybody successfully used Qtek as GPRS modem via irda?
did anyone figure out under which COM-port is hidden Hermes' internal GSM/UMTS modem? i've tried send AT commands to port range COM1-COM9, but no success..
something doesnt work correctly in wireless modem program. My pc doesnt recognize it like a i did with my universal or imate pocket pc
