new version 4.005 ??

I remeber reading that someone had a newer vesion of the rom(same as one i read about that was in a o2 pdf file?)
Has anyone got it yet?

try this, from memory its the only non-Jeff download i've ever used and my machine reported 40005. That was the version i was having the gprs problems with, and never solved them so i went back to 1.2.

Ali-Butt: I think it's realistic to assume that large corporate entities who are protecting the rights to their brand new OS may be aware of what goes on in a forum like this. Please understand there's people out there that can't share everything they have. They may have signed NDAs that allow Microsoft or some other large corporate entity to take all their worldly possesions if they share.
I'd still like it if such people felt comfortable here, and shared their experiences.

This is the same Version & build as the 4.00.01 ROM that has been posted here. It also has the same Radio version. There might be other apps in the newer ROM but the OS seems to be the same.
Here is what I have:
ROM version: 4.00.01 ENG
ROM date: 05-16-03
Radio Version: 6.18.00
Protocol version: 324e4
MS PPC Version: 4.20.1081 (Build 13100)

4.00.05 is already posted out there
I'm running this upgrade right now, and it smokes compared to the O2 Ozone version. Much more stable, no extraneous crap like Bluetooth settings that just tease us, as they are not there. If you look through the xda dev forum, you will find a link. Also, try pocketpcpassion.com's forums, and there is a link there. Have fun, it's better.

i think i may have an answer to the 4.00.05 debate - altho eveything else i do seems to confuse.
XDA staff were given the option of installing v4.00.05 at about the same time on one of the boards messages were seen quoting an upgrade to 4.00.05.
The version issued to XDA staff is the operating system. the 4.00.05 upgrade on the boards is the radio stack.
All other operating system upgrades i have seen are 4.00.01.

No it isn't: we have a ROM which is 4.00.05, and we've also seen 4.00.01, so they both exist, and they're both ROMs, not RSUs.

If you have the Rom 40005, why will you not share, PLEASE.

I don't know where he get the 4.00.05 rom, but the Modified WM2003 rom from his web site is 4.00.05.

UK MDA Vario 2 latest roms etc?

Does anybody know the latest offical ROM etc for the T-Mobile Vario2?
Mine is off back to T-Mobile tommorow for checking out over battery life.
My current details are:
ROM Version: 1.21.110.3
ROM Date: 06/19/06
Radio Version: 1.05.05.00
Protocol Version: 32.36.7010.04H (Whatever that is!)
I would like them to update it whilst its away, but I wonder if there is a newer one I can officially have.

Well, received back today.
Repair docket said replaced mainboard/unit exchanged plus software upgraded.
The phone is new as imei number is different.
But ROMS etc are all same version.

has anybody noticed that is a new ROM available for download @ HTC club web site?
and has anybody installed and tested it? Is this a WM 6.1 upgrade?
The WWE ROM is RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_Ship
it's also available for download an Arab ROM version.

although the date in the HTC site is recent (Jul 14) is ROM seems to be old!!!

This rom was intalled in my Cruise when i bought it for 6 month ago so its a very old one. Rom is dated 12/2007 and is 6.0

My non-branded Polaris was bought with that ROM already.

Leaked ROMS and the camera fix

Hi guys
I just found the camera fix on the HTC UK website. There was still no download for the UK ROM update. The EMEA site had the ROM updates for all regions except the UK.
I called HTC UK. They told me that the UK one is due soon. He explicitely told me that any ROMs out before they come on the HTC website were not official. That doesn't mean they were not developed by HTC but it does mean they were not the ones HTC mean't the public to get.
This seems reinforced by his statement that when you apply the officially released ROM it will include all the fixes to date, including the camera fix ... you won't need to apply the camera fix if you have applied the proper ROM update.
I know people that have downloaded the ROMs from other sources will like to maintain they are the official ROMs but I'm afraid that doesn't appear to be the case.
I will wait until the proper UK one is out and check the version number at that point.

Speaking of hotfix i got my camera hotfix and was thrilled and glad to see it.
I installed it in a hurry and took a few shots with the same WHITE over exposed results as before. What have they fixed? Nothing!

the hotfix was for the pinking issue. Most people are reporting it to be working.
I installed the unofficial 1.48 ROM and paid the price. Before I had no issues with my hd2 now with 1.48 I get occasional crashes and it gave me the over exposed photos. Hopefully these issues will be sorted with the official UK ROM.

I received my HD2 (WWE version) yesterday (via PDASHOP in the Netherlands) and it's already using the 1.48 ROM out of the box !!
So the 1.48 ROM surely is Official

You need to run the exe on the phone not the PC.

God I feel stupid now! Should have read the instructions on the htc site a bit more thoroughly! Just presumed it would install in a similar way to the .net framwork install..

I just went to the "Europe Home" for HTC and though the site offers me a file for download, the download links are all 404s.
I bought a "UK Version" HD2 here in Belgium. Am I getting a "Page Could Not Be Found" error at download because I really have a UK-specific Phone/ROM and "UK Version" is an official HTC designation?

Chill out, man........I'm just saying that the ROM is official, otherwise a brandnew HD2 would not have been equiped with it.
Just because the UK version is not on the Website for download yet, doesn't mean a thing. Just relax and your download will be available soon

yes all it means is that they haven't got around to updating the UK site yet..
obviously it would be lovely if they suddenly decided to ship the mentioned 1.6 rom to UK owners, but I can't see them doing that before it's been tested for a couple of weeks.
I'd also take anything said by a customer service rep with a pinch of salt until it's put in writing and then from someone senior enough to actually know what they're talking about..
FWIW when you enter your serial number on the HTC europe site you get a download link (which is broken because they messed the links up, still wondering why the UK isn't there?)
but the link points to RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe
Try comparing that to the leaked rom ;P

When I downloaded the camera hotfix, it said it was applicable for all ROM versions 1.60.xxx.xxx and earlier. This new ROM seems to have an earlier version number, so does that mean there's a new version to be released soon (or just that the hotfix isn't built into the ROM updates)?

My problem is that there is no way to take a nice face shot with the flash inside a room at the night. Everything bright gets just white and overexposed.
Any nice tip would be appreciated.
I think the flash goes of to late and are at it's fullest when the picture is taken, would it be better is the flashlight is about to fade out when the device is set to night or lightbulb...

Very thanks. I need officialy T-Mobile ROM, because now I can not flasing cooked ROM - my HD2 is in warranty from T-Mobile CZ.

Can someone detail what the Radio Rom version included in this is?
Is there a list of problems fixed in theis version anywhere?

Don't worry about warranty you can always flash original ROM before you send it to service.
HD2 with custom roms rocks!

This is a FAST rom...
It still has the T-Mobile rubbish on...
All in all though its not too bad
(tested on a fellow workers phone)

About frigging time, although will only install it when I know what changes (if any) there are to 1.66 HTC rom. Got it going pretty much as I want at the moment so not interested in spending the next month tweaking it back to it's current level.

BTW can i just extract the .nbh file rename it LEOIMG.nbh and flash it from my sd card through the bootloader?

should work, if your device was originally from t-mobile...
did also think about that...
bought my one at t-mobile and flashed hspl....
so, if i wanna overwrite it to original spl, i just use this rom, flashing over sd card? would it work?
or i could use hspl2, right?

Shouldn't make any difference only mirror sites i think. Would have thought the serial number determines what file is downloaded.

On a T-Mobile UK HD2, going from ROM version 1.43.110.2 to this (v1.72.110.4) give the following noticeable changes:
Settings -> System -> Device Information -> Software Information
OS version goes from 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81) to 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila version goes from 2.5.1920.2525.0 to 2.5.20121429.0
ROM version goes from 1.43.110.2 (70315) WWE to 1.72.110.4 (86525) WWE
ROM date goes from 10/28/09 to 04/02/10
Radio version goes from 2.04.50.22_2 to 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol version goes from 15.26.50.07U to 15.32.50.07U
The camera app goes from v6.26 (Build 1920.3026) to v6.26 (Build 1922.3428)
