got my new mda vario today!
but it is sim locked (DUH ) can someone tell me how to unlock it?
i want to play with it so bad
come on guys!
I don't think there is an unlocking service for the Wizard yet. As far as I know, the Vario is the only locked version of the Wizard. The unlocking companies will come out with one, just may take a little while.
Or the developers here will beat them to it with a free alternative!!!
woudnt it be gr8 if xda dev comes out with another one just like the 2020/i

Can remove simlock from HTC Artemis and from any other HTC devices.
This service is not free.
Please send me a Private Message for details.
P.S. you do not need to reflash, disassebly, hard reset your device!
Say how much and give 1 free SIM unlock away to a Mod of this site to confirm it's real and you may actually get some custom.

Sorry fella, but that was for another HTC product - Ameo, do you have a proof it works for ARTEMIS ?
If you can - like you did for AMEO, give 3 free codes away, and reduce your asking price...definitely below current T-Mobile rate (£15), then you may get some biz.
It is not a biz.
All money going to XDA project.
Ok I'am offering 3 free codes.
1st - to Gajet
2nd - to AD10
3d - to MaskedMarauder
no free codes left

Send one my way then !....and how much would it be ?
OK I got tupisdin's free unlock code and I can confirm that it works 100% to remove the SIM lock.
It was a simple code you enter directly to the Artemis, no need to fight Windows to flash, He provided a fast an efficient simple service that noone else claims to be able to offer except possibly your phone network themselves.
Now tupisdin has said honestly up fron that he wishes to charge for this and make some money for himself. I will leave it for him to provide complete details, but he will accept Paypal. I will say he's not asking anything like $100 that was bounded around in the Ameo thread. I have pointed out how much imei-check charge.
SIMPLY YES THIS WORKS
If you don't mind me blagging one of the free ones, I will try on my latest version softwarte O2 Orbit. Let me know if this is OK.
I have been on here for a while and can be trusted to tell the truth if it works or not.

Both of mine certainly are.
German Orbit - simlock free.
It may well be, I have not tried. All the other phone I have ever had from O2 were though, so it may well be.
IT WORKS !!!!

THIS CODE WORKS....period ! ! !
I tried an Orange, Vodafone and O2 SIMs...they all worked fine !
And I am not screaming it cos I got a free code, but because all you do is input a code, after inserting another Carrier SIM into your phone.
I can remember sleepness nights with pof, perjan(even bricking his phone)...and all the others trying means to provide a SIM unloker for the ARTEMIS....though theirs was to be a free one.
Now to the more serious bit......tupisdin.
I can see in other threads, people make donations to XDA Dev forum, and you give them the codes, others suggesting you want $100, by Western Union sent to you.
Make it clear now, what are the options for getting this code.
What are the costs ?
I would like to get a code. Can you tell me what you need from me and also what the costs are ? Hope to hear from you soon. Thxx already.
Bommy
Tupisdin secret
I wait on cod also. There now I do not it worry. tupisdin will not it make on forum code on free - this no loss. let it will take to grave secrets.
Different gods are on forum. I believe in pof !!! Prepare he in moment foundling. and again whole fame and splendour for him. !!!
And secret tupisdin ... he be unremembered becomes!

Is there any chance of getting sim unlock cheaper than imei-check??
I would be interested if the price were right, IMEI Check at the moment is a bit excessive

20 Pounds (about 30 euro) wasn't cheap but still the cheapest solution for me! With the simlock I was unable to call

Hi everybody,
I'm new to this forum but I signed up to get some help so I expect to get some, I mean, maybe you guys know some things about these complicated phones
Today I bought an HTC Touch Diamond 2, and it will be delivered to me tomorrow. I bought it with an Hi subscription (dutch telecom provider) but my old phone subscription to Orange will only end at October, so thats's quiet a long time waiting. Untill then, I cannot use my Hi sim, so I really really want to put my Orange sim into my HTC Touch Diamond 2. But it's not unlocked, it has a Sim-Lock
So guys, can you please help me unlocking my HTC Touch Diamond 2? Maybe give me a program or something or a code I have to enter? I couldn't find anything on the internet so this is my last hope.
Thanks already!

Put a sim-card from another profider in it,
Does it work, the phone is unlocked.
Does it NOT work the phone is locked.

In your case is Starhub your profider.
Next to Starhub your Singapore has other profiders, try a sim-card from another.
He wanted to say provider,
Basicly your 'operator' or carrier
If your device is SIM locked, like the iPhones,
You cannot call or text anyone without the sim-card from AT&T
If you however sim-unlock your phone, It doesn't matter anymore
Now, I don't think there is a free one just yet... could take a while,
I think it's better to pay for the unlock then...
You could do alot worse than emailing your provider and asking them for a SIM unlock code (include your IMEI in the email).
I did this recently with Vodafone in the UK, expecting them to say it'll cost £££ blah blah blah, but much to my surprise they simply emailed me back with the code.
It all depends on which country you're in and the policy of your provider about unlocking handsets.
At the website of my profider, carrier or operator i can get the unlockcode by SMS!
Try like Mr Anderson discribed in post #9.
As we say in Holland: You have a NO, (Maybe) you can get a YES!

Easier said than done if English is not your native language - Babelfish isn't quite as imaginative as a human brain.

Dave
Just had my contract renewal and placed an order for a HD2
HOPE to get it on Saturday and have the weekend to play and install my apps. Upgrading from a Diamond. I have looke dat the tweaks sticky and downloaded a few of them ready.
Any heads up for the fone?
best advice, play with it first, dont get crazy adding stuff till you are comfortable with it, and read a LOT.
Good luck for saturday delivery!

Make sure to have a look here for free handset unlock

Ok, after frustrating calls to O2 who finally deceided to tell me they didnt know hen they would have the HD2 in stock I cancelled and went in store and got one today! LOVE IT!
Whats the benefit of that unlocking link?
As soon as its unlocked you can , obviously, use any sim card in it...
Silly noob comments removed
Seriously suggest you take the advice to read as theres just so much stuff to try out you'll probably end up duplicating your efforts as most of the cooked ROM's will already include any of the tweaks you're likely to try and going crazy with the mods can have an adverse impact on stability. As a first port of call for a must have grab a file explorer and a back up utility (if you haven't already)...
doesnt need to be unlocked to flash roms. sim lock and rom lock aren't connected.

The benefit is that it's free and allows any sim from other providers.
Most HD2 owners need to pay around £20 for this. It may not directly benefit you at this time but it will some day.

Count the digits. the IMEI only needs to be 16 digits, but several people (myself included) have found that the hd2 displays a 17 (or 18 one person said) digit imei. KNock off the last digit and try again.
