this is what i do, because i don't like the random button pressing either. just hit the power button on the top of the phone after you make the call, so the screen turns off. you'll still be connected to your call.

Or you can just go to the home screen and lock the the device

How to wake up phone with power or end call button?

So I run S2U2 and have it set to blank screen on talk. This works great since I occasionally would hang up on people or press buttons when my face touched the soft buttons on the screen. However, I also have Key Lock setup so my phone doesn't randomly come on all the time and drain the battery while it's in the holster. I also had a couple occasions (before turning on key lock) where S2U2 didn't come on and I ended up calling someone without knowing it.
Anyway, the problem I run into now is that when I'm done on the phone and want to hang up, the end call button is locked out and I have to first press power to get the screen back and then hang up. Is there something in between where I can have both the power and hang up button enabled while locked? Optimally the hang up button would only be enabled during a call so it wouldn't wake up the phone when not in use. A search brought up products like AE Buttons, but I didn't see an option to do what I want.
Thanks,

software to lock keys during call?

Is there a software that will lock my keys and buttons including the ones on the side during a call? I'm always inadvertently hitting or pressing some button during a call.
Just press the power button to turn the display off which in turns locks the keys. you have to press the power button again to turn the display back on
thanks but i'm not looking to turn the phone OFF, i need to not have the buttons active during a phone call when the phone is ON.
I oftentimes accidentally press some button or another when I get a phone call. When I used to have a Treo 700wx there was a feature to lock all buttons during a phonecall. I'm looking for that functionality here as well.
I also had a Treo, but I don't find the need for the key lock anymore on my XV6800. I don't think I've ever accidentally pushed a button during a call.

Power off and Device Lock Reg Edits?

Hello all,
I am new to the forums but I have been using the HTC Touch for a few months now, and would like some guidance about a few problems i'm having. First off, I am using the official 6.1 rom with sprint....
I am running S2U2 and am having a problem with my phone turning off while in my pocket. It seems the power off menu can be brought up if you hold the power button, even if S2U2 is running. This is very frustrating, is there anyway to lock the power button when S2U2 is running, or any other option?
Is there any edits that can be done to make S2U2 call the factory device lock? I couldnt find anything related to the lock in the registry. If there is, is there anyway to assign the factory device lock to the power button, so that when you blank the screen it auto-locks? I love this feature with s2u2, and with stock device lock it takes 3 buttons to do this...
Thanks!

The only thing that I could suggest that might help is to get yourself a good case for your phone that would protect the button from being accidentally pushed. I have never had this problem with my phone. The button actually has to be pressed and held to bring up the power off menu. Even when not in it's case, I have never had this happen; however, the phone is only out of it's case, when I am using it. In the case, there is even less chance of powering off the device.
Rod.
The default device lock works just like S2U2, as it leaves only the power button unlocked. If you locked all buttons, how would you turn your phone back on??

The problem i'm having is that the phone actually powers off while in my pocket somehow....what i'm saying is that the phone not only "wakes up" from the standby mode, but also calls the shut down window and you can press the "yes its ok to shut down" button while s2u2 is running, something the stock device lock will not do.
It would be really nice if there was a slide type lock that was based off the code of the stock device lock.
Thanks for the replys
Find what the application is that launches when pressing the button and add it to the S2U exclusions list.
I have a verizon and my power button toggles screen off and on, so im not entirely sure, Is this a stock popup or a program you installed ? There is probably a registry entry somewhere that defines how the power button functions jsut as the button manager does for other buttons.

I understand your point, and am still wondering what it is you keep in your pocket with your phone that shuts it off!? Anyways, why do you keep referring back to the default device lock? S2U2 performs the same way, as it locks everything besides the power button. If the power button is locked, how would you wake up the device to unlock it ???
the power button has two functions, it blanks the screen if you press it, or it brings up the power off menu when you long press it. The problem i'm having is s2u2 doesnt prevent the power off menu from coming up, where as the stock device lock does. Thus, it is possible to completely power off the phone while the keys are locked.... of course I want to be able to wake the phone up with the power button, but i dont want to be able to turn it completely off.
And i'm not sure how it turns off in my pocket, except i usually carry it with the power button face down (phone upside down) and it must press against the bottom of my pocket...
The application that it is calling is the stock shut down menu, i'm not sure how I could add this to the exception list, as I dont know how to call it remotely....
Thanks again for the replies!
The title of this caught my attention.
It would be very nice to have a registry edit that will lock the device when powered off or on device wake up.
I use S2U2 and I am really not liking it personally, but it is better then the default setup currently I feel.

Phone Lock

I have done a search and can't find the answer to this so I do apologise if I have missed it.
I am after a phone lock as I am forever ringing the last number I dialled by mistake as I seem to turn my phone on whilst it is in my pocket...
Thanks in advance....
Such as the built-in phone lock on the Xperia??
Look at the "End Call" key. there is a little Key symbol. If you hold this key done it will lock your phone...
To unlock your phone follow the screen prompt, hit the left soft button then right soft button
The only key that will work is the power key to put it to sleep or wake it up. and the various keys used to answer an incoming call and end it!!
You can also setup a simple pin number for phone lock. So then you have to enter the pin# to your your phone
hth,
Stuart
another way, there are those free good work done by the folks where u slide to lock

Black screen during phone call with speaker on

Guys I have a question... when I talk on the phone (with speakers on so I leave it on the table), the screen goes black... the problem is that every time I want to turn the screen back on I actually have to use the power button... the home button doesnt work, it's blacked (even if i have set always on display to be active all the time).
Is there a way to turn the screen back on without pressing the power button? Or have the home button active even if the screen goes black during a phone call? thank you!
Anyone?
Home button should be active at all times, you may need to press hard, blindly in the right place but it should work at least it works on mine, no problem.
You sure? Your home button works even when you talk with speakers on and the screen turns black?

Of course it works. Maybe it has some time out function, when it disables home button after certain time, I don't know since I never talk more than few min, but when screen goes blank, couple min later I press home button and it goes straight to talk screen bypassing lock. But I have location/BT set as secure, so it never locks up when I'm home, at work or in a car and have not test it much outside of those places. So if I had to make wild guess it's one of 3: 1. it has some time out 2. something with security lock 3. you're not pressing hard enough or wrong place, you really have to press hard, like you want bend screen a little.
My S6 did this also.
Some help?....
@tharghan
Same problem...
If anyone has a solution for this problem of black screen on speaker calls!?
