Hi. Can anybody please help me to increase the volume of the internal speaker. I can hardly hear anything when making a call.
I have been searching this forum - but did not find a solution.
I have a P3600 using a official HTC ROM, WM5 with GPS enabled.
I think there must be somewhere in the registry where you can increase the gain to the speaker??
Steen
i wish someone would find a solution for this.. because system sounds and music plays loudly enough
Does nobody know this?
i had the same "problem" when i had wm5, but the speaker volume in much much better now when i have Wm6 in my device

Ditto.. sound in Wm6 is MUCH louder than when I had WM5. I am using Mary 3.5 WM6 rom now and I have to actually turn done the volume at times. hope this helps.
Thank you, then I will try to "upgrade" to WM6. I haven't done so because I'm satisfied with the performance of WM5, and Tomtom is OK.
Is there any problems with Tomtom and WM6 (I have read about people having difficulties with changes in IMEA number (I think it was)).
As a newbe which one do you suggest me to use - I know that this probably difficult to answer - but the most hassle-free ROM would be the one I would prefer
Thanks
I can't speak for TT as I don't use it, I use iGuidance but if you where happy with WM5 you will be ecstatic about WM6. I made the change and never looked back. WM6 is sooooo much faster.
which one do you use?
Mary 3.4SL but this is a striped rom meaning you will have to load all the software you want. If you don't want to completely customize your rom then I would recommend Mary 3.4.1 lite as this version included most of the standard software. All of the WM6 roms are really good, it just depends on your taste. I think the Mary roms are the latest WM6 though and the 3.4 version I am using is super stable and fast. Try a few and see which one you prefer. the fun is in the testing.
Thanks, I will try the light version.
Does this version resemble the plain "old" HTC ROM.
I mean does it have the same possibilities as my WM5 (I haven't installed any programs here - only the original HTC-ROM). CAn I make a phone call, send SMS and make appointments ect?

Hi Steen
try to edit this key of the registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]"Vol"=65535
increase the value to 70000 (the maximum).
If negative there are those keys (all values are dword):
HKEY current user/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/InCall/InitVol
Volume for incoming calls; default value is 5
HKEY current user/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring/InitVol
Volume for ring ; default value is 5
HKEY current user/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/System/InitVol
Sistem volume ; default value is 5
HKEY current user/ControlPanel/Volume/Volume
Master volume; default value is 4294967295
Mary 3.4 WM6 Rom
Can you tell me where you get the WM6 Mary 3.4 Lite Rom from

A little review with pics posted in my blog, in spanish language (sorry for inconvenience), of course, with pics.
Click on my sing.
I have played with the trinity 1 day(also have a jamin) and a few thoughts
No fingerprint problem in the white version at least(think how hard it is to keep a black car looking good--but easier with a white)
Boot up speed very fast--45 sec or better
Bluetooth music--you will need all the tweaks of the prophet/hermes but if done it sounds good. No skipping with iplay/ R35
3G works even with my old ATT sim card(very fast download speeds- 5 x edge). Able to stream Sirius on the high bitrate setting! Can receive voice call while getting data!
Not unstable--put pocketweather, weatherpanel, ip dashboard, pocket plus, chronos--no probs
Camera-better with low light conditions
Speed-overall better
Speaker/ringtone--louder
Downside-None yet
I still cant believe it....
Got my Trinity one week now and its really the best Gadget I ever had. There is simply nothing wrong with it. Everything works. Fantastic.

Which are all the tweaks? AFAIK there is only the 'JointStereo' one.
BTW--no problem streaming internet music over wifi to bluetooth headphones. This would not work on prophet

Dude! Do you have the same sluggishness with the dutch P3600 (maybe WWE has it also)... i really think it's horribly slow sometimes; slow menu popups, unbearable scrolling-speed, etc. It seems to consume lots of RAM compared to WM2003SE on Jam when running.
Nice review btw !
Do you have any good tips in the field of registry-hacks 'n stuff ? Like making it possible to map more buttons ?
I've read somewhere here that there's a lot of tweaks for Bluetooth stereo on the TyTN and the S200...what would those be, and can someone explain some more about that ? (i'm having trouble connecting it for the first time, and some dropouts sometimes... will resume music after phonecall though )

When a lot of programs are open it slow down a bit, but not that much. The reaction time of menus is slower then mine Qtek s100. I don't know if it is a WM5 issue or the device. Emulators like Scumm and Dosbox feel definitely faster.
I also made some registry and Windows Mobiles hacks.
I mapped the speech recognition button to the CommManager and the voice recorder is the speech recognition button.
I added the US/WWE softkeyboard to the device. The Dutch keyboard is missing the question-mark and exclamation-mark when showing large keys.
I now have the WWE keyboard which is definitely better.
Maybe I try to create a new thread with some registry hacks next week.
At this moment I try to buy a Nokia HS-12W headset, I hope it is compatible with the HTC P3600.
Just curious, how did you add the US/WWE keyboard?

I extracted a HTC Wizard (WWE) rom to my PC.
I copied the following files to my device:
msim.96.dll
msim.dll
After placing the files you need to add the next registry key:
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}]
"ShiftLock"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}\IsSIPInputMethod]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}\DefaultIcon]
@="msim.dll,0"
There is only a problem with setting it as default input methode.
It gave me a white screen after a soft-reset.
Next week I will try to post the files, if it is legal.

I just installed TNT.19199 with Windows 6.1, and here's the registry fix for SRS WOW that's working on it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1912475&postcount=56
it came with the ROM like you said it's common these days...
Hmmm, right now Wizard isn't even booting after soft reset... Guess it was a good idea to keep the MAgician for a while
The registry fix works!
And the sound can really be set perfectly for my Sennheiser CX310!
Thanks 100x, bill and madmaso, for quick solutions! I was searching for sound settings before I posted, but came up with nothing on "bass, sound, ..."

Guys, just wondering, I can't find anything conclusive over how many people have actually moved away from the UK O2 ROM to a cooked one. Can anyone who has made the jump tell me if there was a noticeable difference and what ROM you used. Also, were they functional for everyday use?
I will be moving to a cooked ROM later, but for the time being I have gone from the o2 rom to the HTC one on the FTP.
I'm happier with it. All the HTC stuff that o2 seem to uninstall (because they are losers) is there without any need to install it all yourself.
I can't see any reason to change as yet unless there is a good cooked rom a la meschle's Touch 4.0.
Likewise, I'll be moving to a cooked rom, but am waiting for someone to make the leap first!
Any reports (successful or otherwise) will be great!
Hey guys
I've been running Bepe's 6.1 preview for the last week. To be honest, the only improvement is the threaded messaging.
I found the o2 rom quite good, but if there's something to flash I'll always give it a go. By the time you've added all your own apps it really doesn't make a huge difference.
App wise I'm running:
Vistahide battery gauge
Samsung time
o2 plus2.3 - with shortcuts & diary enabled
Spb pocket suite
Not that that has anything to do with the rom!?!
Has anyone over here tried upgrading the radio to 1.58.25.14?
Jamie
I'm still on the o2 rom, with:
PocketRAR
ClearTemp
Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool
HTC Home plugin
Home Customizer
WkTask (I really like the battery meeter along the top and the task buttons)
Until a stable WinMo 6.1 rom comes out with everything I'll stick with the o2 rom.
Why they removed the HTC home I'll never know

Me, but have not noticed any difference.
I think we should start a campaign to get meschle to defect to polaris. I have already donated to towards this campaign. We would need to set up a new thread and link it to the artemis wm6 thread.
The biggest problem with the O2 ROM is that tweaks don't work. You can change a registry value and after a soft-reset it will go back to the original value. Annoying!
That's why I use that tweaking tool, it actually sets the values. Although it's not as exansive as a registry
i'm in the US using a UK Orbit 2 and i've been running the .53 version of bepe's WM 6.1 ROM. aside from the improved responsiveness and threaded messaging, you start out with 140MB of available storage and 69MB of available RAM. with all my programs loaded, i have 85 MB available, which is important to me. with the stock ROM, i started off with 89MB available before loading my standard set of apps. i've held off using newer versions because i'm happy with what i have and how it's working so far.

What tweaking tool? The Kaiser one? I thought that messed peoples device up.
Don't see why I would want to flash for the time being.
To me, flashing a rom is so that I don't need to spend so much time configuring the device (because everything is pre-configured in cooked roms). And as there ain't many changes to the current cooked roms, it is quicker to configure the device than to mess with flashing.

You'll never find the best ROM suited to your specific taste unless you try 'em all. Me? i'm totally sold out with Panosha's Butterfly ROM but at the moment am testing Bepe's v0.56 Full, and so far, liking it too! Cooked ROM's are always way faster and more responsive than the shipped one's.

The latest core is 20273 and 20270. However, 19591 is more fast as I test on G-Smart i350.
After all, I decide to make a new build of i350 with 19591, for compatibility and stability.
In this build, I use a new dialpad with larger button. I think it more beautiful than the official dialpad. Some pictures and theme from my friend Feng. Thanks to him.
if you don't like the dialpad, just change the registry from:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"enabled"=dword:1
"ext"="mydialpad.dll"
to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"enabled"=dword:1
"ext"="custphone.dll"
It has been uploaded to rapidshare, for more people can share this rom.

If using complete Diamond dialer, 6-8M Memery will be lost!
You know what does 6-8M memery mean for i350.
So, this dialer is modify from the official 350 dialer.
It doesn't cost more memery than the offcial one.
I installed this ROM and it is good. Especially voice quality over bluetooth is better than your 19212 ROM
I agree with you about Diamond Dialer memory consumption. This was the reason that I ask this question. Because with Diamond dialer, our i350 is useless, no memory after couple of phone calls.
But, after 1-2 soft reset, I lost this custom Dialer buttons, and letters remained in the place with original buttons. Than I changed the registry to go back original dialer buttons.
can i put that rom in a gsmart italian version ?
its possible to make a backup before the flash ?
thanks
I think the hardware is the same so it's possible to upgrade.
You can download the firmware from gsmart club in gigabyte site.
If you want the original italian version firmware you have to made an account in the italian site. If you want the english version you have to made an account in the usa site (you can made multiple account using the same imei)
Just a question, I have to copy on the memory card the CUSTFILE folder to made the ugrade or not?
Thank you.
Unable to find GPS
Hi, I've just updated the firmware of my i350 with your WM6.1 build 19591.
My compliments, it is fantastic but I am not able to find the GPS support. Please, could you spend some words about this point?

i350 and standby of death
Hi all,
My Gsmart i350 is affected by the so called "standby of death" problem. That is, when the battery charge is below 70% and the phone is in standby, the receiving of either a phone call or a SMS causes the blocking of the phone. The only way to turn it on again is soft reset or, sometimes, removing and insert the battery.
I've just known that this problem has been fixed in the latest Russian and Chinese roms, but there're no official updates for other countries. For some of you interested in this issue, there is an unofficial English WM6.1 rom. See:
http://mybestpda.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=75
Regards,
Maurizio
i had bought my i350 in russia, so eventually it had a russian wm6. i switched to english with i350-V5.00.D8-ENG
since then i have this very same problem which mpalesi has described. i thought it could have been a firmware problem or a battery, cos besides the lockout problem, after like the battery power once gets to 70%, the next thing i remember the pda always shuts it down. i had never seen a value being displayed between 50%-10%. just shuts itself down.
today i installed acwan's rom, the pda worked slower for me. so i tried this other link which mpalesi has given (the rom by korand, built on the latest russian version, i think so some features are in russian). it works fast, but yet i havent had time to see if the main problem, pda locks when receiving a call with 70% battery power is gone. so far its been a few hours and the battery seems to be working better than before.
thanks everyone, especially to mpalesi for bringing up the very same problem i had.
