Hello,
I don't want to tick anyone off and post in the wrong section. I'm selling my 6700 and would like to put up a thread about it but I don't want to put it in the wrong section. Is it OK to post it here?
Thanks
you could always post it up on ebay or hofo in the non gsm bst section
Thanks I did post it on ebay. A lot of forums have market sections for you to post that info as well however some forums have policies about not posting links for ebay. I would like to post it on this site with a link but will not do so if it breaks an policies of this site.

Well, take a look here, I posted it up in the general section, but I thought I'd also put it up here, so here's the link to the general area.

If you read the forum rules (see my signature) you'll notice it says the following:
7. Do not spam.
If you wish to advertise a product, contact us we provide ads. But do not post it in the forums, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
You are however allowed to sell used goods like your own device, parts of your device or accessories for your device in the marketplace forum, please read the rules there before posting.

Did you actually read my Post?
I mention the marketplace so I have read the rules, spam would be from a commercial product. I assume
look at this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431778
Now am I confused or are you?
So once again can a MOD answer this question who actually knows the rules instead of some who thinks they do.
look at this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431778
So whats the answer Spartan
Perhaps you shouldnt burn people so quick I am still trying to follow rules even when I know this has been done before
Did I burn you, where was I rude. All I said was the rules allowed you to sell your own devices or equipment
I don't see anywhere in the rules which disallows you to put a link to your phone been sold in ebay.
I've see ppl putting links to selling there stuff before in there signature
I won't post the ad here (I don't want to cause an issue if this isn't the place to post an advert), but are we allowed to post "For sale by owner" adverts for this phone in here? I'm not a resaler, just a user who had to switch off of T-Mobile because I moved to an area not covered by them.
Mods, I did do a search (both manual and through the search function) to see if there is a specific place, so if I missed it, please forgive me, and could you please point me at the right place?
No, stated in the XDA rules, you cannot sell within a sub-forum that isn't the marketplace forum. Hit the home button and then look near the top for the Marketplace forum, feel free to sell your item there.
Thank you

Thanks, ashasaur, but I've seen 4sale in people's signatures with links to the marketplace forum or off-site. This is still allowed, right?
Hi everyone
I think we need an android q&a forum to keep this dev forum clean of spam and repetitive questions that are filling this place.
Does any body have an opinion on this?

I believe it does not help too much since too many people can't seem to read/search the forums anyway. And they will keep on asking the same questions anyway, regardless where they are posed. I believe the non-developers should answer the simple questions so the devs can concentrate on their work.
I agree but if a new dev came along and saw the state of this forum i think they would be a put off joining in.
This is why the devs use skype and irc because this place is a mess

if you're talking about a real forum, with different web address, it's a lot of work.
or maybe you are talking about creating a FAQ page:
if you create it here on the forum, only you will be able to edit it.
but instead, maybe you could create a WIKI page on the photon webpage, and refers to it everytime a n00b ask a question ?

i don't know if you have rights to create wiki page, if you don't, ask me or codiak/tzacapaca/schlund via pm

Thanks for your input, I think a faq thread probably the best way to go, I'll put something together and post it tonight.
I think we need a personal moderator to keep threads clear of spamming.....
+1 for Q&A section,i would like to see this forum the same as HD2 one, with different sections for different OS & stuff, maybe then people won't make mess in dev section
I've sent mod a pm to request a sub-forum if he says no I will post a faq thread here, if he says yes i will post it in q&a

He won't have much luck picking it up at the Post Office anyway, since they all ship by UPS. :silly:
Not sure of what part of "post shipping questions in the shipping thread" people aren't getting.
@familydude99 - your thread is closed as there is already an abundance of similar threads and posts...please familiarize yourself with the rules link in my signature, the applicable rules violation is quoted below for your easy access:
Rule #1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting or creating a new thread. Whether you have a question or just something new to share, it's very likely that someone has already asked that question or shared that news.
