Message Sent? Ahh!! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Is there anyway to remove this? I used the registry editor for my wizard but don't think that will work on the 8525. Any ideas

Yes - if you are referring to the SMS message. You need a tweaker - like HTCustom, HTweakerC from fit4cat, or Pimp My Black. Lot's of options.

Thank you I will look into these. I ran a quick search with no results so please excuse me if this has been covered!

If this helps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291770

the Palm SMS threader for the Hermes gets rid of the message sent notification as well.

Installed the HTweekC is the HTCustom any different/better?

Most do the same thing - I would give them a try. There are a few options in HTCustom that are not in HTweakC, though.
Give it a try - you can always uninstall.

Thanks Ervius great APP, i will include it on my ROMs and translated to spanish.
Some people like new CHAT SMS mode, but some don´t like it, it´s better have and app to change it without have to edit registry.
seems like a good app.
just wonder how does it work??

Swapped Functions
My friend, I've tested this app but the functions are swapped.
I have SMS Chat enabled by default (by SMS Chat, i think you mean the threaded messages, right? ), and when I run the app, it displays that the SMS Chat is disabled and asks if i want to enable it. If i do that, when I open Messaging, i notice it went back to old messaging method.
Confirm please...

yes, you are true, the Enable/Disable was inverted!!!
now in version 2 all works well...
try it at 1st post.
P.S.: if you want translate, you have to hex edit the "english" strings inside...
becouse the apps check if "ITA" or not "ITA" language is on rom, so all languages that are non "ITA" are "English" for it!
Another GREAT app ervius, thanks! You keep coming up with the little apps that are missing that people need. They are simple, but they do exactly the job needed. Keep it up...

Now it's working just fine.
May I suggest something to add to this nice app?
At the moment it can only enable/disable SMS Chat. What if it could also enable/disable the message sent notification? ( I don't mean the delivery report. I mean the popup that appears when the message is sent)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
"SMSNoSentMsg"=Dword:0(notification enabled) or 1(notification disabled)
I think this would answer so many questions, because there's always someone asking for this. And as this is also related to messaging, it would be a more complete tinny GREAT app!!
Keep in mind that this is only a suggestion (because I'm good at registry tweaking, but many users aren't).
Keep up the GREAAAAATTT work.

I think that SMS Chat and Message Sent Notification - Enable/Disable, are the most popular features that many users are always asking for. You'll make many users happy by doing this.
I feel sad for not having developer skills... But also feel happy for having developers like yourself, making ROM usage so much easier for everyone.
[EDIT]Just found this

I guess someone already had the same idea...

Awesome little application, worth it's weight in gold (I was getting so tired of threaded sms's!).
Thanks a million Ervius!

Change SMS Read time??

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows of a program that makes an SMS read faster? I get plenty of sms' from work and basically just want to ignore them and make then read... but TF3D makes you stay on them for about 5sec before it changes it from unread to read... maybe a registry setting?
Thanks
oh ya I am having the same problem also. Any fix for this?
yeah, this was frustrating me today too, i could not figure out wich txt was the 1 bubble.
anyone? please
surely its just a registry setting...
tf3d read time-out.... or something...

This is relevant to my interests
Any1 got this yet. It winds me up
its a manila issue. i dontthink its in the registry.
if u use the WM sms app rather then the manila tab it goes to read as soon as you look at it. no 5 sec delay.
i've sent a PM to D-MAN, hopefully he can help
nothing yet.. dang
let hope for the best man... =)
hey all, still nothing on this, BUT i've posted a question for Swfit on his rom thread.. maybe something will come out of it
Still no fix for this yet? I woulda thought by now, we coulda found this issue/setting.
I would also really like to know being checking all registry values and i can find nothing. The 5 second is really irritating.
I have been looking on other forums and have got nothing.
I assumed that it would be an easy task but alas.
I need this app too
If you tap 'all messages' you go into your SMS inbox - from there it's really easy to just mark them all as read.
They also go from Un-read to Read straight away if you open from there ans swipe message to message...
I know it's not realy what you're asking for, but if you get so many messages, I would think it's the best way, as you can view 10 or so at once with a preview...

Missed call or SMS alerts

Is there anyway that the Blackstone can play a sound when there is a missed call or missed SMS and repeat it say for example every 3 mins?
don't think there is a built-in feature for this but get spb phone suite. that has it.
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/download-notification-repeat-enable.html
That link will let you do what you want, and more importantly, its a freeware!!
Enjoy!
Thanks for the link.
Sounds interesting.

Thanks to you both, I find that the spb phone suite gives me a broader control, but it is nice to have the cab file too.
Seems overkill to install SBP phone suite just for the notifications...
Can anyone pls confirm:
1. Is the cab file uninstallable?
2. How often does the notification repeat?
3. Does it actually work? There are comments on the above download page that says it keeps repeating even after the text is read...
The nice cab file posted above did gave me the optie to repeat a signal.
I have not really tested it yet so far
I tried the SPB phone suite and it worked good for me. I had no issues. The intervals were 1min 5 mins .... I forgot the rest.

Has anyone tried it yet? In that link, several people posted that it keeps repeating the alert even after you have read the missed message.
Also another program option would be PhoneAlarm (lite or Pro).
Also - on a similar note, I tested some of these setting combinations. You can see the results here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459297
I am using missedcallreminder v1.2 and it works a treat......
Search for it on this site......
I just tried the .cab from post number 3.
It worked fine with the first test message I sent myself, but by the second test message, it DID repeat itself even after I had read the message. I deleted the message for it to stop reminding me and all of a sudden some five minutes later it started reminding me again!!! So, I went ahead and took the check marks off that setting. It's been five minutes and no sound yet.
That is unfortunate. That's a feature that should be considered "essential". I don't know why WindowsMobile or HTC didn't include a good working version of it with the option to remind with sound and/or vibration. We shouldn't have to turn to third-party apps for something like this.
EDIT: BTW, I think this is the program the previous poster was referring to. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405071
Read the whole thread before you install it. Some people say it uses up too much RAM. I have not tried it, so I can't say anything about it.
Thank you for the applicaion, i used to do it troguh registery but its nicer to have a program doing it for ya

I'm not completely sure (just did some limited testing) but I believe that if you press the DOWN key on the home screen it will stop the notifications, even if you son't read the message.

No "SMS sent" notification

Hi guys, I've just bought a brand new Maple, provided with ITA ROM, and I can say this is a good device, even though after a long time using touchscreen device this new one seems to be a bit "empty"..... forget it! The weirdest thing I noticed is the "SMS sent" notification missing. When you've just sent a SMS, the device doesn't reply anything: usually WM5 Standard phones give you a "Messege sent" reply, and if you want to keep on, you'll have to press any key. The Maple seems not to be working in this way: after a SMS sent, you won't get back any reply. Probably some regkeys need to be hacked, I looked round regkeys without success.
Could somebody please give me a hand??
Thanks
i really dont remember because i swapped out my stock rom..so i cant help you there.
BUT i do know that you cant enable it or disable it with sktools. give it a shot!
Really? I didn't think SKTools could run on a non-touchscreen device......... Good, I think I'll try with it and then I'll tell you.

all the reg edits I could find so far, included SMS sent bubble. http://groups.google.com/group/bupahs-dash/web/dash-3g-registry-tweaks
Sorry, I don't have a Google account and I'm not going to have it.......... Could you please link the file or the list in a different way? Thanks

SMS Sent. . . . :-S

Hey all
Im A UK T-mobile user and after the rom update 1.72 everytime I send a sms I get a very enoying sms sent message. . .
is there anyway to stop this . . . .I really hate it
go to Messages> Menu>Settings>Options> Uncheck request delivery report under sms
don't think the OP is taling about an SMS delivery report, its like a notification that stays in your taskbar, i want to keep this there, but for it to disappear after x seconds (say 3)
anyone have any ideas?
yeah thats what I mean the .. and you have to delete it from there. . .its really enoying !!!!
anyone have a solution to make it not appear or yess even stay for a few seconds .. .
i've pretty amateur when it comes to registry and had a quick look but couldnt find anything.
if there is any solutions i'd love to know, 3 seconds will be great to know that the message has sent, without me having to go and dismiss it myself
bump.... can anyone help?
I'm with you on this one! Using the new Vodafone rom - I get the same! Please help.. (I've tried turning off the notifications but no help!)
Same here, it's annoying as anything!
Nobody have a quick fix?
Is there an option to turn it off by going to:
Start/Settings/Menu/All settings/Sounds and Notifications/Notifications then selecting an option from the drop down list and making any changes?
I'm still on the original TMobile Rom so have not tried this on 1.72. If this option isn't in the new Rom I'd be interested to know of another fix before I upgrade myself.
good idea happy snapper but just had a look and if you select 'display on screen' then you can click ok and it disappears, as in the stock rom.
great solution mate and btw, i would upgrade if i were you, it makes so much difference that the stock t-mobile rom
hi jonyid
glad that helped, have you seen this?
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6266385&postcount=126
i've hesitated installing the new rom as i must be one of the few people who so far has had no problems with the stock rom (2 months!) and thats throwing every bit of wm software i've got at it. i will give it a go on my next free sunday morning though
