Well for some reason, I have not been able to sync to my PCwith my 8525. It used to work flawlessly. BUT for the passed week it has been acting up. I get some kind of error message. And I have installed activesync on other PC's and each pc it does the same thing. so I know that it is definitely my 8525. I also just noticed that I cant install any applications from cab files. It keeps saying that I cant install when i select the install location.
For some reason I can still explore the files on my wm5 device.

I have tried to delete the "permissions" in activesync on the phone already...

"I used to work flawlessly" - so did I but as I get older things just ain't the same!
I remember this exact problem from somebody along with the cab problem. From memory a hard reset was the only solution but all the relationships will have to be created afresh.

Well, just I hint: in my case deleting notes above 20 KB helped.

Yeah, I'd like to know too if Avantgo ever works properly. I tried it and never got satisfactory results, so now I use Mobipocket. I was able to just transfer the reg code that I had for my Sony P800.
AvantGo works just fine here. Except for the fact that I have to sync manually when using ActiveSync 4 beta. I regret installing this and can't revert either. If I try 3.8 syncing won't work at all.
hm where can i get active sync 4 beta? I would like to try. Are there new features?

The full version has already been released.
Just go to avantgo.com and sign in. Then download the newest version.
To find the beta of ActiveSync 4 do a search.
Ok i have solved the stupid avantgo problem by updating my avantgo to the newest version aviable. :wink:
The only disadvantage is that i don`t can use ftxPbroser to check avantgo any more

Yesterday I was browsing the Wizard area of the XDA FTP server and I bumped into a file called SplashscreenStuff.zip
So I downloaded it, read the ReadMe file and thought, this looks kinda easy, let's see if it's possible to change my SplashScreen (on a 2.18 Qtek Rom).
So I opened Photoshop looked at some existing splashscreen's and adjusted one to make it "my own".
The funny thing is, this SplashScreen can be useful if your device gets stolen (it is shown about 20 seconds on start-up on my device).
Take a look at it and if someone is interested in the Photoshop file, to adjust it to make it yours, feel free to leave a message here and I will make sure you get all the files you need.

I would really like to know if this can really work as a anti-theft strategy. At worst, the "finder" of the device can flash a new ROM, can't he? Is there any really anti-theft strategy?

Static electricity.. have read about it in some guides and articles..
The best would be to use a magnet attached to your USB cable. That should prevent shutting down... Digital camera's usually have included this kind of cables.. It's even required to meat some ISO guide-line

Use a USB cable with that bulky thing attached to it. Some network cables have them too... maybe you can take it off easy..
DO NOT USE A regular magnet!! it's too powerful and might damage more than you think!

It comes in handy to be able to sync your phone without your computer around should you completely hose it up. Every now and then I need to hard reset to get the GPS to work.
I use dashwire.com for that though...
Wish I could find a sync that will keep my ring tones...Active Sync does not remember this info which I understand...does this app??
Where are custom ringtone settings stored at? Is it in the registry? or is it in the actual PIM file on the phone. I have the same problem where I have to manually reset each ringtone after a hard reset or flash.
I do have my phone set to sync with exchange, so I don't really need to use activesync except to copy files, which could actually be done with my memcard reader.
If I can figure out where it stores the ring tones, I could add that to my UC and have it recreate them as well.

After I successfully installed this rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/rom-havoc-3-0-gsi-fixed-build-huawei-t4014127) on my WAS-LX1 I have been getting an error message saying that I don't have sufficient internal storage when I actually have 20GB storage left. I have tried to reinstall the rom and tried to install a new one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/rom-lineageos-17-1-huawei-p10-lite-t4064115) and I still keep getting the same message. I resized every partition I could on twrp but nothting happened. Although I can download certain apps, most of playstore apps keep giving me the same error. Moreover Chrome keeps crashing, and I can't use the camera. I have searched it on google and I tried to clean cache and storage from google play services and play store but it wasn't fixed. Is there any way to fix this?
