My Program Memory is decrese after running and CLOSING programs !!
any body can help me?
Thanks
Hard reset your device.
Program memory being reduced after some time, is something usual in WM devices. and a SIS file, can not harm your device, cuz you're not running on Symbian OS!
if you receive files via BT while it's off, then as vlodeck pointed, hardreset your device. if the problem persisted then there's something wrong either with your ROM or your hardware.
Friend,
after Hard reset the alarm (sis file) appeare some times...
I change my ROM, the problem is solved.
but it is a new VIRUS for PPC that Alarm me !
this virus i get from NOKIA 6630 (my friend mobile)
but i say to him "sis" file don't attack my ppc but I see attack my ppc
so help me for best ANti virus.
when i use Dr.Yar Bluetooth manager and it's run, i white alarm without anything appeare , I think it is virus that i recevied from attacked Nokia6630...
So can u help me?
The fact that you receive the file and that eTrust alerts you about it means nothing in this case, except that your friend needs to get his phone cleaned.
A virus is a computer program just like any other. To harm your phone this program must run. To do so it has to be in a format your operating system (Windows mobile) can recognize and load.
Because this is a sys and not exe file windows mobile can not read it so there is no way it can run on your device and harm it.
One point: you might want to keep you bluetooth off "discoverable" so other phones can not see it.
Another point: if you use google you will find several anti-virus programs for PPC including Caspersky.
Non of them do anything other then slow down your device because they have no virus database (nothing to put there). They can only try and guess that something is a virus and they can be wrong.
This isnt a Virus for PPC!!!
Its a Symbian OS Virus, but your Virusscanner know this Virus. No Windows Mobile can start or use this Files.
A lot of Nokia Handys use Symbian. Hard Reset them!

You've solved your problem not because that you have changed your ROM, it is likely that your new ROM (which you think solved your problem) has the bluetooth and/or bluetooth discoverable switch off by default. You could have solve the problem by just switching these off yourself without resolving to hardreset/flashing.

The 'virus' maybe be attacking your PPC.. but the most it will do is just.. sit there and do nothing. It is a file that is not executable in your PPC and hence it is as good as just a file you can keep. I'm pretty sure your low memory issues arent directly caused by the 'virus', rather probably it is in your mind, OR, the bluetooth find transfer engine is being hogged up the massive send request.

Anyone have any idea about this message.
Cannot Load resource library \windows\MCres???.dll
hmm very odd.
note sure what is trying to load this
Yea, I'm getting the same message the last few days, I'm not sure what to make of it, right now it's just an annoyance - I haven't noticed anything broken on the device software wise.
Possibly
Well i noticed pocket controller wasnt working correctly reinstalled it and error went away.
could be co-incidence
no, that sounds right, I had Pocket Controller installed but I think it got corrupted, so it's probably an issue with that piece of software.
i hate reviving dead topics but i'm getting this now. I used to get it before and resolved it with reinstalling pocket controller. but after a recent hard reset i attempted to install pocket controller and the install didnt complete. Now everytime i try to install pocket controll it tells me installation unsuccessful then it shows that mcress???.dll
same problem
I have an IPAQ HX2795 and I am having the same problem after installing Soti Pocket Controler.
My first installation went OK. But I got an updated version of the Soti softaware, it asked me to uninstall the pervious version and I "OK"ed it.
Next thing I know I got an error with "Unable to uninstall" things took a dive from there. I can not see Soti on the list of programs installed on the Mobile unit and I get errors when I try to re-install Soti with ActiveSync
I read few solutions, most of the included hard reset. Since I have never done this before and because I already have multiple programs that I need on the Ipaq, I am trying to find a new solution.
Anybody?
Ali Issa
Problem solved
I called Soti support and they were able to help me get it solved.
The solution was as follows:
- get ActiveSync connected
- Explore into the mobile unit, go into the Windows folder, go into StartUP folder
- Find a file called "CommLoader.exe" and rename it into CommLoader.txt
- Un-cradle our unit and then soft reset
- Your unit should start with no error but it will open the CommLoader file into Mobile Word (Just as a text, no biggy)
- Now your unit is ready but you will need to delete the file CommLoader.txt
- Re-install Pocket Controller by Soti
Support also informed me that this issue will be avoided in future versions
Ali
Figures that I can search for 1/2 an hour with this annoying problem and find the answer here.
I had a feeling it was Soti's issue, but couldn't make it go away.
Not sure I'm even going to reinstall the darn thing- for a while anyway.
Thanks.

Hi guys, I have a small problem, I have a Xda exe, and bought Route 66's Navigator 7 to run on my unit, problem is this when I try to install the cab file (which is sucessful) it fires up: Error one or more required files cannot be found. please reinstall the application. (close window). I have searched the net and this form for answers/solutions but can't seem to find any. When I was on other sites abt wm5 and set up problems I noticed that there is certain things you cannot get access to on the wm5/O2 software. ie, Like tring to set up a blue tooth connection, what you get with o2 is their attempt of a coms software rather than keeping it simple like windows based interface that everyone else has.
Is there anyway you can stop the o2 customisation cab running after a hard reset, as I think o2 are deleteing files that are required to run route 66. Also is there a way to have just wm5 installed the way you would get windows xp out of the box the way microsoft designed it without o2, or T-mobile mucking it up? :!: :?
Oh and by the way Microsoft as released the Beta of ActiveSync 4.2, which cleared up a lot of my connection problems if anyones interested in the link for it come back to me..
I believe that if you hard reset, go through the touchscreen set up and copy/paste tutorial, when it comes to the 'Tap the screen to finish setup' (ie - when all the guff is installed) if you then soft reset it stops the CAB file from installing and you're left with WM5 as Bill Gate$ intended it (Should point out that i've never tried it though, so it may be completely wrong!) Hope this helps
Oink1....Thanks for the reply on that, I will try that next time round and let you know. cheers
Hi,
When I tried to remove one of my programs, using remove programs, there is always this ERROR: (the name of the software) was not completely removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs? Then after I choose yes, the program is still exist.
Can anyone please explain to me what happen with my pocket pc, and how can I remove the software compeltely?
Is it related to pocket mechanic that I am using, because I usually always delete the registry?

Same error here always.. would love a good answer...
Also have the same problem on and off. A hard reset took care of it...
I have the same problem. I know the Universal and the Blueangel are two very different devices but even so it is the same error message. I have hard reset it 3 times and it still has the problem.
is this a WM5 flaw? :?
Maybe.
What I do to make sure I totally uninstall everything is install the same application back in. The Universal will then show a window stating that you are installing a program already installed and that it will be removed first before proceeding with the installation. After the automatic uninstall, I just opt to cancel the install process and the original application is now uninstalled completely.
Another suggestion, the latest version of Pocket Mechanic has a new feature to handle all uninstall options in the Universal. I have to say, I have not tried it yet.

Lots of people have had this (Including me)
The solution is to make sure the app isnt starting when rebooting i.e uncheck any today plugins, make sure the app isnt being started by the windows\startup\ location. Check the application to make sure there are no options set to automatically start i.e for pocket mechanic check that no auto cleaning etc options are checked - and then after all that soft reset your device. Then try to uninstall - should work.
There is something resident in the program memory causing the program not to be uninstalled - you need to find it and stop it from restarting prior to soft resetting your device.
Hope this helps.
Matt
Yes that's the solution I think. for this I use SPB Pocket Plus "safe mode" option if some program wants to be uninstalled.
I boot the machine "safe" and uninstall everything I want
Hi,
i decided to post a thread cause i got a problem i can't figure out and i can't find any solution by STFG.
The fact is, when i plug/unplug my Touch HD via USB on my computer, every time it opens an explorer window.
When i used XP, it opened "c:\documents and settings" at each plug/unplug.
Now i'm on seven ultimate x64, while i thought it would wipe out the problem, it now opens an explorer window at c:\windows\system32...
I managed to kill all unnecessary processes but matter still occurs.
I uninstalled every programs that i suspected such as CERegEditor (from my PC), Advanced Configuration Tool and HD Tweak from my Touch HD.
I also searched the registry for CERegEditor keys, deleted them, and also tryed a search about c:\windows\system32 but it's meaningless considering the tons of answers.
Now i'm stuck and don't know how to resolve this sneaky bug.
If you have advices/answers, you're welcome.
Thanks.
ps: please excuse my crappy english ^^
nobody's have a clue ?
your english is perfect.
I'm wondering if you could have downloaded a program that has a virus on it. I'd try backing up your pim data using google or myphone, and then wiping the phone (hard reset) and possibly storage card.
Hopefully you have copies of all your programs etc backed up elsewhere and i'd scan your computer, using Kaspersky...just use one of the trials.
Thanks
I'm quite sure (but i can fail) that i've no virus on my PC, maybe on my touch hd but i'll scan it.
I forgot to mention that i also upgraded the touch hd firmware by the last one there's on HTC website and it didn't change anything related to this problem.
And i use kaspersky internet security or eset smart security (not both at once of course) on all of my computers
Thanks for your reply !
Hello,
Today I found my old broken (digitizer not working) touch HD sleeping in a dusty box... and I kind of felt sad for it.
All the hardware on the phone is working just fine except for the touch pannel
So I was thinking, is it possible to make some good use of it without investing any money for repair (it's just not worth it, as I have the brilliant HD2 since the day it got realeased)?
Having a non-working digitizer doesn't leave a lot of options but here is an idea:
Car tracking device? - have it installed in my car, constantly charging from the car battery, listening to GPS and sending coordinates over gsm data to my PC/server.
1. The blackstone have a GPS and you can install a simple data only SIM card from your provider, allowing your device to connect to a remote server over the internet and send important data - like gps coordinates.
2. It's still possible to install any custom rom you like.
3. There is a way to skip initial touch calibration screen: make an empty text file and rename it to "welcome.not" and place it in the root ot your sd card. (Thanks to Chef_Tony for pointing that out!)
4. There is a way to control the device via PC and a USB cable: after hard reset your device default usb connection mode will be ActiveSync. Then run the free MyMobiler application on the PC and it will automatically install on the usb connected device, allowing you to fully control it via your PC mouse and keyboard. (Thanks to Chef_Tony for pointing that out!)
I'm sure that I'm not the first nor the only one that came up with an idea like this, but I couldn't find any topic on it. I also know there are many brilliant developers in XDA that make loads of awesome apps for our HTC devices.
So, any ideas?
Shouts to:
Chef_Tony
Best wishes,
Xeno
new digitizer is about $8.. buy it, fix it at home and sell it for $100
yes, you can always replace the digitizer and have a fine phone.
but anyways, since your plan seems pretty interesting, here is some basic input to help you:
3. you can bypass the OOBE. all you need to do is, create an empty txt file on your pc, "untitled.txt" and rename it to "Welcome.not", (yes, change the extension to "not") and put it in the root of the sd card, then the welcome wizard should be skipped after a hard reset, and so you don't need to align the screen.
4. after a hard reset, the default option for a usb connection is activesync. then you can run MyMobiler on your pc, it will install on the device automatically and you can control the device on your pc's screen with keyboard and mouse.
so you can still use it for anything you like, if you control it over the pc and preconfigure it to meet your needs.

I gave it a shot few months ago and I failed The problem was that the digitizer is literally glued to the lcd panel, and detaching it is a REAL pain the butt (I almost broke it). Anyway, after reassembly the new touch screen didn't work and I gave up. I cursed myself later on when I found the topic here in XDA forums that the best way is to buy a digitizer+lcd combo...

Thank you fine sir for the light on the topic. I'll make sure to add this in the first post
Every new idea/info will be of great value reaching the goals of this thread
Ok, putting a welcome.not file on the root of the sd card did the trick as promised. I conneced the device to my PC via usb and as expected it connected via ActiveSync by default.
Unfortunatelly MyMobiler was unable to install the mobile part of the app automatically - it poped a message on the phone "This program is from an unknown publisher..." and it's now waiting for confirmation to continue the execution of the app... and it's pretty impossible to confirm this with a broken touch pannel
I believe there is a registry workaround for this, but it should be set by default in a cooked rom? I'm using the latest WWE rom from HTC.com.
It will be great if some good chef could mod this rom and make this annoying message go away
1. i just had an idea on how to get mymobiler running. i cannot promise, that it'll work, but it certainly doesn't hurt.
having the latest mymobiler on your pc, you see different files there, some of which are named:
remote.exe
remote.exe.40
remote.exe.50
when you connect the device in activesync mode, and set it up for syncing (at least notes or browser favorites, something that does not actually mess with your pim data), you will see the blackstone in "My Computer". entering it, you have the storage home drive and the storage card. by enabling "Show hidden files" and disabling "Hide system files" in your windows explorer, you should be able to access the windows folder of the device. then you can copy the file remote.exe.50 there, rename it to remote.exe (the .40 file is for wm2003, the .50 file for wm5 or greater, but you need to remove the extension to make it executable).
and then, since you cannot make shortcuts yet, copy the file again to \Windows\StartUp\
thereby making it run automaticly, when the device boots. then soft reset, and i am fairly certain, you should be able to run mymobiler.
from there on, you could disable the signature warning for future programs.
EDIT: apparently, the startup folder is victim to the certification warning as well. still i leave this paragraph, as i find it interesting as to how mymobiler works.
2. another idea would be to just flash any cooked rom found here on the forum. all of them have this stupid signature warning disabled and are ready to run mymobiler out of the box.
3. my third idea to get it running is trying to modify the responsible reg key:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a
it is a dword key, where the value '0' is activated warning, and '1' means, the warning is disabled.
in the 2577.zip in the attachment, you will find a reg key, that changes this value and also a cab file to do the same thing.
on a device with an ARM cpu, the folder 2577\ on the storage card will be monitored for autorun.exe and execute it, when the card is inserted. i also packed 3 different autorun.exe files in there, one by me, one by navigon, and one by igo, hoping at least one of them would work with a proper certificate. what you'd need to do, is extract it, and copy it to the storage card, so the path is \Storage Card\2577\Autorun.exe
autorun classic works with the CFG.txt, which is also included and changed to work, as long as your rom is WWE and the storage card is actually named \Storage Card\, if not, edit the path.
until now, i was unable to run it, because the autorun.exe files aren't signed with a trusted certificate either, but i'll give other people time to post ideas, and rethink the thing, maybe i can make it work for you.
still i think, if you are gonna use the device for a few little features, you are not required to use the stock rom, so flashing another rom, which then does not have the certification warning would be the easiest way to go for everyone involved.
Connect it to your PC and use it as a monitoring tool!
Can come handy when benchmarking.
