WM5 tweaks don't work on Athena?? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

I purchased and unlocked HTC original Advantage x7500 so I can use in the US with my tmobile account. It has WM5 on it, since the WM6 os has not been release. I have downloaded and installed TotalCommander for registry editing. I am finding that the standart wm5 tweaks found in the wikipedia thread do not work. For instance, a lot of the registry keys do not match up. I cannot even find the key to change the clock display in the taskbar according to the site here. Is there a difference in WM5 across devices?? I would think the OS is the OS no matter what device is resides on?? Am I just missing something?

THanks.

most of the tweaks are for aku <2 your athena comes with aku 2 or maybe 3 or 3.5 so some reg entries may differ

Best tweak I've found yet is to download the 30 day trial of pocket mechanic and set the cache to 4mb..

Registry Editor for o2 exec/wm2005?

Firstyly apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.
I have searched and all I seem to find is apps for 2002,2003 and other older variations but nothing explicitly for wm 2005/exec
So my questions is:
What registry editor do you recommend that runs solid on an o2 exec (wm 2005)/universal , preferably a freeware one together with a download link.
thanks.
More searching revelealed this

Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 for Other Devices!

I found a copy of Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 (not the crappy Voice Speed Dial) here and tried to run it on my Verizon XV6700. Not only did it mess up the hardware button configuration on my device - the program wouldn't run, saying that it's not supported on my device.
In looking further, I found out that the main executable was looking for the hardware ID string PU10 (for the Universal). I changed it to PA10A1, which is the ID for my XV6700 (Sprint users may be slightly different, I don't know), used the SignCode program here to re-sign the modified application, and it worked fine on my XV6700!
I found out that the HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand registry key was the reason my hardware button mapping was getting all screwy. I removed that registry entry, modified the VCStatic.INI file's HotKey entry, and the button assignment is working fine now. I just have to manually assign the Record button (or whatever you want) to "Voice Commander."
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Programs/Unsigned_cvc16-ppc-xv6700-usa.CAB
As I understand it, Sprint users with the new ROM update might have Voice Commander already embedded. I just thought I might give an alternative to Microsoft Voice Command and to Verizon XV6700 users who are still... waiting for their corresponding ROM update.
Do you think you would be able to modify this file to work on the 8125? I wouldn't mind "compensating" you in any way I can (I can offer some web hosting if you would like some).
Can you tell me what the model number is of the Cingular 8125?
For instance, the Universal was PU10, while the Apache was PA10A1. The program looks for that particular model number.
The model number is WIZA100
And for my Qtek 9100 ?
The model number is WIZA200
Thanks !
Not trying to push but my trial for Microsoft Voice Commander was up today and I want to know if I I should really spend the $50.00 or if this will work for what I need it to do.
Any news on the program?
I have a 6700 and have no issues running the microsoft voice command 1.5 with many bluetooth earpeaces. You need to install the following http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=7396 and then modify the registry. Take a look at the registry key HKLM\software\OEM\voicecommand and there is a subkey you can change from sddialer.exe to \program files\voice command\voicecmd.exe
Thats it. When you press on your bluetooth headset button you will hear the microsoft voice command chime. It works for me and it will work for you.
Mike

Thanks for creating these BTT. Would you mind if at some point I integrate the wiz100 version into a custom ROM for the 8125?
Bluetooth Headset Problem
I have done that to my 8125 however it didn't work. I still have the same issue with BT not working until a reset.
Here is something I tried that is working for me...

Would it be possible to throw a build together for the JAMin?
The JAMin's model number is: PM300
Thanks in advance!!!
Thanks BeyondtheTech !
Will this also work with a GERMAN QTEK 9100 ROM ? I have an MDA VARIO ( which is the HTC WIZARD ) - so the ID is the same.
I am basically interested in how much better Voice Commander is compared to the Voice Speed Dial.
I read something about an SMS Reader on the Cyberon Homepage - what does this do? Will it read out received SMS?
On the Homepage there is also a PDF I downloaded which states different language packs. From the naming of your .CAB ( usa ) I guess yours is only for english devices or used with the english language.
Anychance I can get a hold of the GERMAN Language Pack as well?
Best regards & thanks for all your effort!
Will this work for WM 2003 ppc?
Can you please make a Version for the MIO A701
The ID is
PXA270
Thanks. NAdavi
BTT, can you create one for the BA with WM5? Device is PH20B. Thanks.

Wireless Today plugin - modifying display

Hi everyone,
I've been reading the forum for a while but haven't posted until now. I've got an SPV M3100 and have applied a few of the Registry hacks on the wiki including the Wireless today plugin. I was randomly looking around for a couple of other things and came across this photo, which appears to show a modified Wireless plugin running on a Treo 700w.
Does anyone know if the existing plugin can be modified through the Registry to display all the relevant information on 1 line like the Palm one? Or do Palm have a modified version of the DLL which powers the plugin?

Palm has difrend dll for that plugin, and as far as i know it is not yet ported for all other WM devices
That's the Diallookup plugin(which include the two wireless and bluetooth icon) and occupies two lines.. The icons cannot work but the lookup works fine(looking through phone memory but not sim).. I managed to get rid of the useless icons but it stills occupies two lines... pm me if you still want it..

Remote Desktop Mobile Console Session

This is my first post and I apologize if this question seems to too basic.
I am using Finster's Remote Desktop Mobile cab on my AT&T pre-release WM6 8525 and I can't figure out how to initiate a console session like I do in the Run command in my Windows desktop.
I can access the Run window (hold down the button in the middle of the d-pad then long-tap the clock / battery icon area on the top bar, the release the action button and a popup menu will appear) and know I need to use "/console" switch but what is the path/filename for remote desktop mobile?
TIA
I dont have a solution to your problem, but im more curious about this

Now is this a cooked wm6 rom or an official ATT branded 8525 WM6 rom?

arent we all
To tell you the truth I bought this on eBay and the seller advised me it's an AT&T pre-release.
I've only just started spending time here because I recently transitioned from my custom ROM Treo 650.
My device has an AT&T splash screen but no carrier branded apps like the previously named Cingular Video.
I don't know how to access radio info etc. To my WM noob eyes this looks like it could be a Vanilla ROM with a couple of utilities like HTC X Button, Shadowmite's Customization Tool and a registry editor (though I don't know which one).
I'm finding this ROM though stable a little lacking. I am studying up here so 1. I can dump this ROM for reference and for any interested parties and 2. so I can cook my own ROM. I am a bit intimidated because the file structure for WM is just that much more complicated than Palm's flat file system.
I wish I could tell you more.

sounds cooked.. but one quick way to tell, if there is no PTT icon in the programs menu then its not an ATT WM6 pre-release rom... but regardless, welcome aboard
To access the console session
After you connect (to a non-console session) via remote desktop mobile, on the remote machine, click Start, Run and enter:
tscon.exe 0
-Mark
Mark,
Thanks for the response. I also sent a PM.
I've been doing a similar workaround. After connecting to remote session, from Run or Command prompt I type: mstsc /console
-Christopher

MWg Zinc II Tweaker (also for TyTn II)

The attached program was written only for experimental purposes. I just wanted to know how hard it would be to read / write to the devices REGISTRY without using 3rd-party dll's or runtimes.
Allthough it is designed to work on the ZINC II, it partly should work as well on the TyTn II with WM6.1 (and similar devices).
I have tested the program only on my Zinc II with latest ROM version 2EUU.1033.Zinc II VER 010 WWE 230 0825 and in a WM6.1 emulator.
Please don't expect much! As I said: it was only experimental and therefore it has only 4 options as you can see on the screenshot. Nether the less, it might be useful to 'not-so-registry-editing'-skilled Zinc II owners. In addition, if someone is interested: the options can easily be extended - I gladly will publish the source as long as the application remains freeware and upgraded versions will be posted here.
Simply download, extract and then copy the executable to your device - no installation required, just run it directly!
As always: Use at your own risk!
Great tweaker! Tried this out for quite some time. No problem at all. I'm would certainly wish that this tweaker will be developed further. Great job!
Looks great and usefull man,.
maybe you could add some more option so just like Schaps advanced config?
How is this phone? I saw it somewhere unlocked for like $250-300 and was thinking about buying it.

This phone is very stable when you upgrade it to the latest ROM. The only problem I have is the RAM. It comes with only 64MB of RAM and after starting up, only a slightly more than 30MB of RAM is available for use. I uses Opera Mobile 9.5 a lot and once I open Opera, I can only open MSN. Anything more than Opera and MSN running, all opened application will close by itself to reclaim memory.
Thanks for the information. I have a wing so 30mb of RAM at start is amazing! lol

Oh... Why amazing? How much of RAM do you have?
After a soft reset and UltimateLaunch and WeatherPanel load up, I'll be lucky to be left with 13mb.
