Possible to block bluetooth unit from connecting? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

So i once paired my phone with my car stereo handsfree, but since it was a $100 stereo, the handsfree didn't work correctly. So i don't want to use it anymore. But the stupid stereo have no way to turn off bluetooth.
I tried deleting the stereo from paired devices, and set my phone bluetooth to "hidden" - but that stupid stereo still finds me, and a message about "bla bla wants to connect" pops up everytime i get into my car.
I also tried disconneting power from my stereo, and use the reset switch on it, which reset all settings on it - but IT STILL FINDS MY PHONE!
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? At the end of the day, i have like 10 notifications on my phone i have to go through and click "No" on...

On the Wizard did you ...?
1) Push the Comm mgr tab
2) Click on settings
3) BlueTooth Settings
4) Mode: UN-check the box "Make this device discoverable to other devices"
5) click OK.
If you didn't do that, try it.
Then go to B/T settings again and pick devices, and remove the device giving you trouble.
That SHOULD do it.

as mentioned i have already made it undiscoverable for other devices. But it still tries to connect to me...

Bluetooth headset / need to refresh to reconnect

I'm using a bluetooth car unit that acts as a BT headset. I've succesfully paired it with the phone and it works fine. But if I either turn the unit on and off or walk out of range and walk back in, I end up having to go to "Bluetooh Connections", "Devices", selecting my device, clicking on refresh and selecting the headset service againa and clicking on "Save" to make it reconnect. The car unit is set to poll the phone every 30sec, so after I re-enable the service on the phone, the unit will connect.
Is there any way to either have the phone automatically do this or maybe create a shortcut to perform this operation so it's not so painful to reconnect?
People using headsets, is this necesarry for them as well?

Stereo Bluetooth Headset Issue with Qtek 9000(HTC Universal)

Hello everybody,
I just would like to hear some (technical) comments regarding making stereo bluetooth headset usage more convenient with a device like the HTC Universal.
My current situation is as follows:
The stereo bluetooth headset that I am using is http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=2&pid=02040
The inconvenient problem I am encountering is the cumbersome method of going into "wireless-stereo/hands-free/headset" mode immediately after switching ON my headset.
The pairing between the device and the headset was not an issue, however one would think that once paired - there would be no need to go into the "Partnership Settings" again, and again, and again, etc...
So assuming that the Universal device has Bluetooth ALWAYS active, I switch ON my headset and the only think that works is the Multi-Function-Button on the headset that triggers the voice dialer / voice commander. Once the phone dialer is running I conveniently go into hands-free mode. This is fine and all, but quite useless when I am not using the phone dialer.
I mean, after switching ON the headset, and then I start to play an audio file - the headset should be the point of audio output, not Universal's speakers. This does not happen after switching ON the headset. To make this happen, I must do the follwing:
1. Switch ON the headset
2. On the Universal Device, go to Comm Manager and select the Settings tab
3. Choose Bluetooth Settings...
4. Select the Devices tab
5. Select the defined Partnership between the headset and the Universal device, in my case this selection is "i.Tech Clip S"
6. Under the "Select services to use from this device" we have:
a.) Hands Free
b.) Wireless Stereo
c.) Headset
All three are selected but in reality are not working (not yet anyway..)
7. Clicking the REFRESH button causes the services selected in point 6 above to change. Clicking the REFRESH button causes the Hands Free and Wireless Stereo services to be de-selected while the Headset service to remain selected.
8. Select the Hands Free and Wireless Stereo services and click on the Save button.
9. Now all is well!
So, the problem obviously is in point 6 where what the Universal device says is not actually what is reflected in reality.
But in order to work around the problem, I must do points 7 and 8. Since I wish to make an app that does the things mentioned in points 7 and 8 - I need to know what the REFRESH button actually does.
All I know so far is that the REFRESH button does not just elicit values from the registry. It does something that results in the registry values being written. This is where I would really appreciate your comments.

Problem with Bluetooth Headset

Hi, i just bought a universal bluetooth headset but i cannot set up my phone to work with it. I turned my bluetooth function on and set my phone visible but i still cannot find the bluetooth headset. Does anyone know why?
You don't want the bluetooth headset to see the phone... you want the phone to see the headset... Setting the phone to visible is for other phones/computers to be able to see it...
By default, all you should need to do is...
1. Have your bluetooth set to "on" on your phone
2. Turn on the BT headset
3. Add new device
4. See headset and tap on it and then next
5. Pair it with 0000 or 1234
6. It should set it to heaset automatically
Sometimes just having the bluetooth headset on is not enough, you have to put it in discovery mode. (The headset manual should say how to do this)

Bluetooth - stop asking about hands-free

I have a set of bluetooth earphones that are capable of both audio and hands-free, but I only want to use them for audio. This is easy, as you just untick the hands-free option when you pair them with the phone.
However, when I turn the earphones on the phone pops up a message saying "the device is trying to connect to use a hands-free headset or car kit with your phone". I then have the option to accept or reject this pairing. This happens every time I turn the earphones on, so it's getting quite annoying (especially since I turned off the hands-free option when I originally paired!)
I simply want to stop this message popping up, so I need to know if there's a way of making the phone automatically reject the request for the earphones to act as a hands-free kit.
I've been all through the bluetooth settings and didn't find anything, but I'll ask the question on here in the hope that someone else has some ideas.
Thanks
Hey john, can't help you on this one m8.
Just needed to comment on how strange it seems you asking the forum questions instead of everyone asking you, and you sorting out our problems.
Good look on your quest
Heh - cheers mate. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Can't really help you but I can tell you what I have seen ...
I have a rocketfish BT headset ....
once it is paired and I authorize the connection, I can shut off either or and it does not ask me for the other, it will connect to the headset if I hit a "media" button on the headset though ...
I wonder if the device you are using is "Asking" to reconnect even though it is already paired ...
just my .02

It only asks me to accept or reject the hands-free connection - the audio connection just connects. I believe it is the earphones that are trying to connect as a headset, so I just need a way to tell the phone to automatically refuse that connection, just like it automatically accepts the audio one.
This is after I've turned off the earphones, and then turned them back on again, like the first time I've used them in a day. It's not during regular use.
Grrrr
I think this may have more to do with your particular headphones than the HD2. Meaning your headphones just don't quite match up with the HD2's wonky bluetooth implementation. I use a cheap bluetooth stereo receiver from DealExtreme. I don't know the model, but it shows up as BCK-08. It can pair as stereo audio or handsfree. I have it set to do both, and I never get a pop up like that. Can you do that, or do you specifically want to disable hands free?
PS. This title was funny. When I saw it on the main HD2 page it said Bluetooth - stop asking... I was sure that it was going to say stop asking how to control other media players, besides Sense, with a bluetooth headset. This still isn't possible right?

[Q] Bluetooth music streaming

I bought a GOgroove SMARTmini AUX A2DP to use in my car. I have successfully paired it with my phone but when I play audio it still does not go through the GOgroove.
If I look under bluetooth setting I see the device as paired but if I click on the icon for the device, the only only options are "rename" and "unpair". What do I have to do to route my sound through bluetooth?
I am running Jelly Bean 4.2.1.
The bluetooth device also paired successfully with my iPod touch and I could play music from my iPod to the GOgroove.
Tap the device name in the "paired devices" list (not the settings icon) to connect to it.

When I do, nothing happens. How do I know it is connected? I suspect it is not connected because my bluetooth device turns off after a couple of minutes. It is supposed to stay on if it is connected to a device.

When you tap the device name it immediately say "connecting..." and then say "connected". If it is not I would suggest un pairing and pair again.

It does not say connected. I tried un-pairing and pairing again, same problem. It seems like this bluetooth receiver does not work with my phone. I am going to find a different Android phone to try it with.
