Hi,
Can we change the imei on this phone? (spv m700 )
thats illegal isn't it? which this forum clearly states is against its terms and conditions
sorry if i'm incorrect
But if my Trinity doesn't show anything at IMEI ?
Hi,
change the IMEI is not illigal at all, law change from country to country, here in Italy a lot of people say that but no one refer the exact lex that say this.
In Italy the a e'shop that sell a phone that change his IMEI everytime u change the SIM, and the shop is regular and lega and up since few years.

A tool to change HTC IMEI was this, but it seam that don't work with Trinity.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274860
Of course, if u steal the Trinity , this is not legal !!
Sorry for my English,
Bye.
Changing IMEI's is illegal in most countries... one of them being The Netherlands, where XDA-Developers is hosted. For that reason, closed.

Hi all
I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to the above question.
to explain a bit better:
If i change the IMEI on my XDA it will obviously show up on the phone. What i want to know is will the network see the new of old IMEI. Ie whis is sent out by the phone.
Also:
From that i have found out the new service which blocks off stolen phones work that runs in the UK work by the IMEI code of the phone.
How do i make sure i don't change my IMEI to a number that is registered as stolen and in turn block my phone off.
Also again:
If at a later stage my phone does get blocked will changing it back to the original IMEI unblock it?
After all this i'm wondering if i should bother changing the IMEI. Although it would be nice to have my DOB there.
Oops I think I posted this in the rwong place!!
To Adminstrators:
Sorry
If it is in the wrong place could you move it?
The IMEI is stored in two places: one is displayed, the other is used to send to the network. The Manipulator changes both locations. The chance you'll change your IMEI to one of a stolen phone is small, very small. (It's six digits if you exclude the manufacturer part, so the chance is definitely bigger than getting hit by a meteorite, but still)
We included the IMEI change bit because:
a) We could
b) Privacy concerns: we'd like to live in a world where people can have multiple identities that are hard to connect, even if their opponents happen to run the country / telco.
WOW!!
Thanks for the great answer. As soon as it is possible to change my imei and unblock my phone i'll be doing it. (I have version 4.20 so it don't work yet).
Does anyone know of a web site where it list all the imei that are recognised as stolen or a number i can call in the UK to find out. The local police are useless and don't know anything.
A number to report a stolen phone would be useful as well cos my little sis got her knicked.
Sorry for my English. Bat, haw I can change my IMEI on Magician? Is there anything as xda-manipulator for Magician? In our cantry change of IMEI is full lagaly action.
Tank in advance...
I didn't think you could as it was tied to the unit itself.
It may be legal in your country, but to most of us changing IMEI = stolen goods. Coming to a Magician forum and asking how to cover up a stolen Magician may not be very popular...
Please be aware that I am not accusing you of anything. I don't know you and most likely you have paid in full for your Magician. I am just making a general observation here...
Are you shure on 100%?
Are you shure on 100%?
You've got to ask the question, what legitimate reason could someone have for changing an IMEI... then you've got to ask yourself, what if it was my Magician that some rat had stolen... would I want to tell them how to change the IMEI and use it?
Secure you privet life!
My reason is following. I don't like, wenn my privit convercation is offen for goverment. So, my reason is privecy.
hello guyz, i have been asking this question since a while here but got no answer.
has anybody in this forum ever tried the services of IMEI ceck for unlocking the UNIVERSAL, they are the only guyz in the market claiming to have the MAGIC STICK that unlocks those complicated phones, anyway i was just wondering and would love to know if anybody here has tried unlocking his UNiversal throught them.
the reason of my question is, can this be logical, that they are the only genuises on earth getting to unlock the UNI
and thanks alot
Try searching the forums, it is what the search button is for.
In answer to your question, there are people who have used them, but there is an unlocker on the way.
Also, what model universal is it? Some vendors supply the unlock code for around £20 > £30
lol thanks bro, but i know about this Provider solution, the thing is i have a MDA PRO, and ive got him through the internet, T mobile told me that they dont have its IMEI in thier database, and based upon no UNLCOK code what i find **** is that i have no idea whas wrong with my MDA PRO and its IMEI is not reported stolen, so im sure its not an illegal deal or something, my only hope is an UNLOCK TOOL nothing else
It could be from T-Moblie is a different country, andas such the counry that you are in would not have record of another countri's imei.
I have an MDA Pro from T-Mobile UK, I am in the UK. According to them my IMEI is not in their database either, so they can not unlock the phone to work with my tmobile sim.
I am beginning to think they are a bunch of idiots
is it actually lock the o2 version of the universal dosent seam to be locked
You guys with Tmobile phones not being in the database, have you considered buying a pay as you go SIM and registering it with the IMEI. You can often get such SIMs for free anyway.
Not sure if it will help though!
V
well thanks for the answers.
but ive gone even further than what you will think, i made a T-mobile subscription in order to be able to use my universal. and i tried calling em to get the unlock code, but they said they dont have it and my IMEI is not in thier database, its bull**** i mean i got the devcie new not a second hand or used or anything, and it got all its DUtch user manuals and CDs so it cant just be from another country, its a dutch phone from the dutch T-mobile, but yet they dont have my IMEI this is way toooo wiered, i dont know where did my device come from lolll. and one thing im sure of, its not stolen
SOS
Dear All,
Is it possible to unlock the SIM on universal
Is tit possible to change the language on the phone from french to English
Can you please guide me on how to do the above as I dont speak french
Is it possible to save the current settings on the phone if the above fails
as the operator sayzs that the warrantz on the phone is void if the language is changed or the SIM is unlocked
My current configuration
operatpor 7.113.5.132
Rom version 1.13.51 FRE
Rom Date 22-09-2005
Radio 1.03.00
Protocol Version 42.36.P8
Ext rom 1.13.132 FRE
abellah30, 3 posts asking same thing? and one question has been asnswered in this thread....
Currently it is NOT possible to unlock the universal without sending to imei check or getting the code from the operator.
If you bought the phone with a subscription, phone up T-Mobile and tell them to send you a new phone. They told me that is what they [T-Mobile UK] would have to do as they didn't have the IMEI details

Click to collapse
The unlock codes are only n the database after a while
also some phones are never in the database and they need to contact the manufacturer
Hello everybody.
From what I have seen the last few days, in this forum and in HTC Spain, there are a lot of us who have the same problem. I've an HTC Touch (P3450, or Elf) that started with strange and spontaneous resets (I think you call it "Data crash") after being flashed. Also, the IMEI detected by the system changed to the number everyone's getting:
IMEI 00440000350111201.
This IMEI appears when *#06# is entered; it also appears in Start > Settings > System >Device Information > Identity.
I think this is the IMEI I'm sending to the service network. Of course, that IMEI is blacklisted, so I don't have signal nor service at all. Anyhow, "deviceinfo" (by dsixda) does read the correct IMEI. Therefore, I assume that the device DOES have the correct IMEI in the eprom (or wherever it is stored), but the OS, or the bootloaders or whatever, isn't reading it well (the weird thing is that everybody ends up with the same IMEI because of that error).
Well, we know that the "changing IMEI" subject is illegal and nobody wants to discuss that in public forums, but I ask you to leave the thread open in case anyone knows or reaches eventually to a solution.
Cheers from Argentina-
Juan Pablo.
IMEIs numbers are expensive for phone manufacturers...
So, when mading a copied phone, some chineese manufacturers are using the same IMEI for a lot of devices...
Do your device is a real HTC, or it is a fancy chinese name like THC, HiTC, etc... ?
If it's a legal one, just bring it back to the carrier or the seller, and you'll have without a doubt a new one...
If it's an... HiTC... Then... You payed for what you've got... **** ! Sorry...
And if the problem is caused by the flashing, it's certainly because the provider of the ROM have left its own IMEI in the ROM...
This thread explain the problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456082
Well , i've been banned for this post ...
I want to make myself clear .. that's NOT my IMEI , not even a legal one i guess ... maybe the moderator misundestood my problem and didn't take the tome to read what I was explaining.
Then again ... THAT IMEI NUMBER APPEARS IN ALL THE PHONES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE EXACT SAME NUMBER.
Ok , I hope it's clear now.
Thank you both for your replies. I keep looking for an explanation and solution for my problem , I'm even in contact with HTC about this.
Thanks again.
this is a legal thread as many of the samsung, Asus and htc WM phone's imei number changing exact that imei on the header just after a unperfect rom upgrade.
Wishing to change someone's imei number as it's original condition is called REPAIRING IMEI, NOT Changing its to another one.
please can anybody help me. i bought one htc elf in dubai and i went then to turkey am trying to make it work in turkey but in vain. it is always searching for network and not finding anything.
have you tried flashing a different radio? Or, have you go into phone settings and tried to select a network manually?
i couldn't upgrade my radio version it is always arriving 79%, stopping and giving error.
Whats the error, make sure to post as much information as possible, people wold be able to help better then.
Have you checked the error codes in the ROM section?
Stu
no actually am sorry but i did not know about that section before. so it is error 270.
thanks actually i found that error solution but nothing changed still my phone is searching for network in vain. even am trying to find a network manually it is writing cannot read settings from the network try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again.
where did you buy the phone from in dubai? Was it from a market etc or a store? It could be blacklisted in turkey? Just thinking that could be a possibility.
i bought from jumbo electronics in dubai it is a distributer of consumer electronics. so what can we do if it is blacklisted.
i doubt it would be blacklisted if from a shop. If it is blacklisted, theres pretty much nothing you can do about it, apart from change the imei - which may well be illegal, i know it is here in the UK.
mm is there any way to change the imei like software.
for that, i would not help. you can however search forums to see if you can find anything for it.
google checkmend as well, that tells if the phone is blacklisted etc, but maybe only for us and uk, not sure. costs $2.99 USD though.
actually there is something strange i have one sim card from UAE, when i use it the signal of network is coming and when i put any sim in Turkey no signal is coming. do you think it is blacklisted?
the turkey sim may not be registered? I wouldn't be able to say if it is blacklisted - i'm still learning these phones too
About IMEI
If you bring a cell phone from out of Turkey you need to register it in cell shop called like "Turkcell Extra".
You need your phone and your passport. The personal'll look at the dates in your passport and check the invoice date in shop after he/she will register your phone to Turkey Network. after a copule of days you can use it complately...
to my knowledge it may be because of the the frequency of the signal u r receiving in ur country. elf and elfin are triband phones.. they dont have a frequency range of 850 Mhz .. may be ur provider is giving the signal in that frequency.. try with gsm sim of other service provider may be it will help u...
thanks alot but i think my phone now is blacklisted cause as i remember i came to turkey before long time and it was working but now it is not anymore even i tried different sim cards like vodafone and turkcell but in vain. i have other phone am using now and i registered it on my passport it is working but i want to use my elf actually i dont wanna use other phone cause i love that phone that is all.
first unlock your device, then install the newest radio.
