Download 'Mun RUU' from the HardSPL thread and replace this RomUpdateUtility with the RUU in the Rom you are trying to flash,it'll work.

use SSPL (unsafe) to flash hard SPL. It is actually Soft SPL. It is removed once you have Hard SPL installed.

Hello everyone,
I am here to ask for some help from the experts.
I already read a lot in this forum but could not find any working solution.
My Prophet was upgraded to IPL/SPL 3.08 and won't turn on unless I connect +5v pn pin 1 and ground on pin 6. Doing this I can go to tricolor screen.
I tried to flash IPL/SPL 2.20 but after the reboots it comes back with IPL/SPL 3.08.
Any ideas how to downgrade the IPL/SPL ?

I sorted this in a moment of clarity.
Steps:
1. Got a working WM5 rom into the Prophet
2. Connected ActiveSync
3. Got prophet SOFT SPL into the phone device root.
4. Run SOFT SPL. Got a white Screen (Witch is normal. This is the SSPL bootloader screen)
5. Flashed IPL 2.20... OK
6. Flashed HARDSPL... OK (I supose SPL 2.20 can also be flashed)
Thevice unbricked and working fine.

Question hard spl
I already have de SPL 2.26 before I had 3.08. the question is, Do I have to run the hard slp? Thanks.
I am trying to do the HardSPL upgrade on an orange spv m3100 as per http://www.mrvanx.org/thg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26 I have the lates version of WMDC running on windows vist and can sync etc no problem
When i go through the process it shows current image as 1.23.61.4 When i carry on in brings upenter bl.exe on the phone. The phone then goes into the bootloader screen and the WMDC shows disconnected
The programme hows verifying the information on your hermes Then I get error 260 update error cant connect
The current bootloader says.

when i upgrade to HardSPL 2.60, it does upgarde but when after restarting it again shows the same version of SPL
i am now unable to soft reset my phone
and one more problem i am facing is that my phone shows HERM200while before this problem it was HERM100
this problem arose after i tried to downgrade to MFG bootloader
before that i had SPL 2.30

fcwdadmin, as you have sspl.exe already running (known as soft SPL - 1.09 des) format 2Gb or less sd card FAT32, put the .nbh file of Hard SPL V7 on and rename to hermimg.nbh . Reset to bootloader - hold power, ok button above flywheel and reset with stylus. Follow the prompts. This should put Hard SPL V7 on your phone. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE Soft SPL INSTALLED...
Go to bootloader to check, it should read IPL - 1.04 and SPL - 2.10 oli.
You should now be able to put any rom on from the Hermes section. I recommend using the sd card method for that too.

No, you don't have Hard SPL V7. I'd suggest going to the upgrade section and downloading the right Hard SPL. Its a sticky at the top.
Hard SPL V7 is the safest SPL to use as it offers a measure of safety that you don't otherwise have, making it at least possible to fix up your os if something goes wrong during a flash.
Read post 1160 on page 116 of the Hard SPL thread to find instructions on how to install it using the sd card method.
If you try to upgrade your os at the moment you stand a greater chance of ending up with a non recoverable brick or, at the very least, an agonizing amount of reading to just recover the os.
Hard SPL WON'T stop things going wrong but it offers a chance of recovery. V7 is the best for the person just interested in flashing roms occasionally (daily) so I'd suggest you get it.
It should read when you finish IPL - 1.04 and SPL - 2.10 oli.
No exceptions...

I've been trying to find help with this everywhere, but none of the steps seem to work for me. Should I consider the phone brick now cuz I can't get Hard SPL v7 on? I was able to go up to 1.40 using CID unlocker, but have been stuck since then.
Can you get the Hermes back into today screen?

No brick. I was able to get to SPL 1.40 and have been able to flash other ROMs. I've just read too many posts that says v7 is the way to go for stability sake.
Download Hard SPL V7 from the Hard SPL thread, go to page 116, post 1160 of the same thread for instructions on how to install using the sd card. YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS EXACTLY... One thing wrong & it won't work.
Afterwards, you can use these steps, dropping the steps using SSPL.exe (Soft SPL) to install roms. I find it much easier & safer than using the pc.

Hi I am using the 3.15 ROM so my SPL is 3.03 and I need to downgrade to something in
this list below

SPL 1.42.0000 SPL 1.42.HSPL
SPL 1.62.0000

SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000 SPL 2.08.HSPL
However when I go to the HTC site for the uk and pick the earliest HTC HD2 VODAFONE (UK) ROM (version 1.74) it won't install it says the usb cable is not connected even though it blatently is fine. IF I simply use my SN I get a list of *one* from HTC. If I go up a level to all available downloads I can scroll through and hand pick about 4 or 5 roms. So. I am going to systematically reapply all the HTC UK VODAFONE ROMS tonight to see if ANY of them take but I fear they will not.
So...
How can I downgrade? People talk about it but to be honest I think there needs to be some clarity aon all of the following issues.
How to downgrade SPL when it isn't available on the HTC site
How TO install HSPL
HOW To uninstall HSPL
Go to HD2 WinMo Development, there is a thread lists all the OEM ROMs .. Pick yours (1.42 or 1.66) and run the exe .
If it still says cable not connected then rename .exe to .zip and extract the rom and rename it to leoimg.nbh, put it on your sd card and boot into bootloader.
My way
Before I went to work today, I had deliberately flash my HD2 with the latest ROM. and consequently, my SPL was upgraded to the 3.03... I downloaded the old one from HTC..ROM 1.66 and flash it like normal on my HD2..as in just running the program
To my surprise...my current SPL after the ROM downgrading is back to the awaited 1.400
so..please find a way so that your HD2 can connect with the PC/Laptop and just run the program...
hopefully..it will do wonders..
