It says in Dopod website that the Dopod D810 has GPS format, with embedded coordinates in the picture and a built-in exclusive photo navigation software, where one knows the exact location of the photo and easily navigate to that location.
Any other information on this photo navigation software?
I tried to find this built in software, but no success.
Camera -> last item on left upper corner (camera with cross). Whether this you're thinking...?
i m also looking for the same info, i was able to get the gps photo function working and took pictures with active gps connection. problem is now i dont know what software to use the photos with.
I used Picasa (freeware) to view the GPS coordinates of the photo I took.
You'll need to import the file into picasa, go to picture -> properties and scroll down to the gps coordinates.
A bit clumsy to use however - if anyone knows a more succint way (program) of accessing the data I'd be keen to hear of it.
Use Irfan View
Better use the freeware Irfan View (www.irfanview.com). It has a button in the picture proporties dialog to jump right to Google Earth to show you the place where the GPS photo was taken.
irfanview works fantastically for this... cheers!

Thank you. I downloaded and installed Irfanview, it is a nice software, but I cant find the mentioned button in the picture properties dialog. Is it Irfanview version 4.0?
There are only 5 buttons in the picture properties window (keyboard shortcut "I"): Change resolution, Exif Info, IPTC info, Comment and OK.

Hello. Today I have set as 'favourite album' ALL the folders I had in the memory card.
I didn't want one album to be my favourite, I like to have in handy every photo of my mobile. So that's why I've set to 'favourite' ALL albums together. That is more than 100 photos, I think 160 or more.
The problem is that the phone (in the scroll menu Photos&Videos, where all the menu Programs, Weather, Today, Contacts are placed) shows only 99 photos.
It is the biggest number of photo it can display. Can I set a higher number so every photo can be taken from that 'scroll show' ? Some patch, mod, registry key?
It is really weird. My Nokia N73 could of course display all photos in the gallery. Why should I browse a folder to find the requested photo, if there is a very friendly DEDICATED menu to do that? The answer is: because it gives you the possibility to view only 99 photos. If you want the photo n.100, you either go in the folder with the file explorer, or change favourite album to the one you need.
I'm sure there is some solution.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I'm aware 99 is the max you can have, similarly contacts is limited. I don't believe this can be changed, but if I'm proven wrong I'll take it back
I would like to take pictures with geolocalitattion (photo-gps) that include the compass information in the JPG file.
Somebody know to do it?
Take a look at page 219 of the hTC manual (English version).
WB
HTC Footprints incluide GPS postion but not de compass angle of the photo
Have you found out the solution to this? I'm looking for the same..
Resco Photo Manager can add location in jpg-EXIF format.
or just in the camera app, bring up the buttons, then choose the south button (camera icon) and then tap GPS photo

Has anyone found a decent (free) picture editor for the hd2? I really miss the simple samsung crop / rotate / colour balance prog that was in my omnia.
Also is there anyway i can just rotate pictures while viewing them in sense? I have tried the obvious rotating motions with no luck.
Thanks
Hi...you dont need to get any software for that you just need to go into Multimedia and select Pictures & Videos. Now from here navigate to the photo you wish to edit and open it (it could be in a folder). Press Menu and press Edit. Now press Rotate in the bottom left-hand corner. Once you've change the orientation you can save this change..
Enjoy your life with your HTC-HD2
Hi,
i want to change the default caller/contact picture but cannot find what to do.
already searched....no answer found
changed cc_default.bmp...didn't work
any ideas ? please
change photo for a contact
Fairly easy to do...
Select the contact whose photo you want to change.
Select 'Edit Contact'
Select the small photo icon (right hand side of the bar that contains the text 'Edit Contact Card') in the top right of the edit contact screen.
You will get the options to use FB Profile pic, Outlook photo, Phone album photo or take a new pic with camera.
Hope this helps.
i think you actually mean change the default image it uses, correct? the grey silhouette?
ifso, look at the images "avatar-x.png" in the windows folder.
ooops...
Misunderstood the question...sorry guys
YYEESS...that does it ! Thank you )
Hi there,
I Have made a small gps logger application for android, hope you like it.
Features:-
Get Latitude, longitude and altitude.
Change there format to Degree, Minutes, or Seconds.
Stop and Start GPS Service.
Add the location with date and name to a list.
Save the list to user defined file.
see the current location in map in both satellite view and map view.
ability to hide any of the parameters.
Get distance between two location form the list.
I have made it for my own use during ecological survey, but hope you might find it useful, so please if possible tell me what else should i add to it.
And yes the back key wont exit the application, implemented it so that accidentally we I don't exit it, Exit the application through exit option in menu.
Download it from my website:-
ww.planetngp.com/p/download.html
Click the GeoInfo Link.
Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if there was a way to log the accuracy of the GPS?
What I mean is that although I don't have any use for such an app I am always wondering how well a new Rom/Modem performs. I normally just use GPS test in the car and look at it while I am driving (still safely ).
If this feature is already in there just ignore my comment (and thank you for the app).
