ei mates!
been ages since i last participated in this forum. what happened was, i was using an xda2 (upgraded to wm2005) and one day i decided to sell it. got myself a mio a701 with gps. had that for like a year...then quite recently...like a month ago...got a nokia n95. let's just say i wasn't as impressed and remind never to go back to symbian.
with that, getting my ameo this coming friday and looking forward to participating in this section of the forum.
cheers
Welcome back! Sounds like youve done the right thing! The ameos great!
thanks mate! yeah, been reading a lot on the ameo...this section of the forum was particularly helpful. looing forward to getting it soon! call me the prodigal hehe...but never, ever, will i go back to symbian!
cheers
Nice to meet you..

When I was looking at upgrading my Exec (Universal), I held the N95 for all of about 20 seconds before realising I preferred the Ameo - I think it was the naff o/s - last time I used Symbian was s60v2 (on a 6680) and it was just so limp!
I seriously considered the N95 for a while, but my universal kept shouting urgh dirty nasty tat in my ear every time I picked one up..
Then I thought of all the WM software I've bought, so I put it down and played with the Ameo, and it was love..
And hey when you're 6'4" built like a brick ****house you *can* get away with holding the Ameo up to your ear, as it doesn't look too huge when your hands are the size of a gorillas

there was a thread somewhere as to how people answer their calls with the ameo...most (if not all i've read) said they use a bt set....but in your case i guess that's not a problem =)
the n95 was given to me as a gift so i was very fortunate i didn't shell out any cash. however, just 2 days into it and already i was bored. it's like taking a step back. having been using pda-phones for like 7 years now...i felt...degraded hehe
been reading a lot on the ameo and i think it's a sound device. the 3 megapix cam should be a step up compared to my 1.3 in the mio. for the n95, although it does have a 5megapix cam...you end up decreasing the quality because of battery and memory contraints...so that way it's like you're only using 3 meg out of it's supposedly 5 meg capacity.
in any case, getting my ameo this friday!
Ameo is like brick but if You remember old NMT phones or first GSM - size can be OK.
If your pocket is a little bigger than standard you can use without problems.

Well, actually the last picture is misleading, as it has NO earpiece, just the dual speakers for a speaker phone or a BT headset. Not to mention you look a bit odd holding this thing to your ear.
ei mate
thanks for the photos...gives me an idea of what to expect...and i'm getting my unit this afternoon! woohoo!
by your last pic when you mentioned there wasn't an earpiece...does that mean that you can answer a call by 1) loudspeaker on, or 2) bt?
thanks and cheers
just answered my previous post: you can answer calls via the hands free or a bt headset =)
and with that, got my new dopod u1000 last friday!!!!!!! and to be honest, i love it! in the process of installing the programs i'm most familiar with.
i hope you guys don't mind but i do have 1 question (just one for now =)
this one concerns the soft keys. as you know on the today screen the soft keys are set to "calendar" and "contacts". when i was using a mio there was an app to change the soft key designation. is there one for the ameo? i checked the manual and so far there's nothing there. the settings for system folder doesn't show any either.
i checked the posts and i sincerely apologize if i missed a topic on this one. if possible, i wanted to change the left soft key to phone so as i can have easy access. for now i've set it to hardware button 4.
cheers
Hi Robson,
If it's anything like other WM5 devices, it'll require a registry hack to change the soft key allocation.
Have a search for that...
Good luck with it. I get my HTC Advantage later this week hopefully.

Just re-read this thread - I see it's the Dopod u1000 - you threw me when you mentioned ameo in your last but one post.
It must just be a difference in the ROM.
oops, sorry mate! didn't think there was much difference between the ameo / dopod / advantage. wonder if the program to change the soft key designation is already present in the dopod...and the .lnk is simply not shown. and i wonder if putting in a copied .lnk for the soft key app (from the ameo) would work on the dopod...
Would that work with it being a control panel item? I'll have a dig around this evening when I get back from work. I suspect it may be beyond my technical level of expertise though..
don't worry, i'm in the same boat as you are when it comes to these things =) if you could try using file explorer and scan around the windows folder. if there's a file related to soft keys then maybe that's it. if you can copy and post the file that would be great.
from your post, the soft key button is in the settings folder. unfortunately neither the activesync explorer or the unit's file explorer can see these files. i use spb plus which gives me some of the setting links. maybe a similar file is in the windows folder.
thanks in advance
cheers
re: the soft keys. i figured it out =) i was fiddling around with some software and i installed spb mobile shell out of curiousity....and presto...the app allows you to remap the soft keys!
thanks again for the inputs

I suggested the following to Spb ( because I use Spb Pocket Plus & Spb Diary )
But mabye ( I know there is a tool for Ringtone Profiles, but I want more! ) there is a software out there that maybe does what I am looking for.
----
Hi, I have an idea for either a new product or a plugin for Pocket Plus. I call it "Power Profiles". As a business & private user of an MDA Vario I also have docking stations, one at home and one in the office.
Many MDA Vario Users ( which is basically the HTC Wizard ) use their PPC the same way I do. So bascially when I get into the office, first thing I do is turn of the phone volume and give the PPC only half the volume ( for appointments, reminders, etc. ).
One special thing on some dockingstations is that you can have your PPC sitting in front of you ( in the docking station ). My dock has the neat option that you have the MDA sitting their in landscape mode, which is great but also bad at the same time. Because with Diary & Pocket Plus installed in landscape their just isn't enough space on the screen.
So the Plugin would create Profile Shortcuts and do the following. I have two profiles setup, one called HOME the other called OFFICE.
I tap on a shortcut on the today screen (OFFICE) it:
1. Sets the volumes as I need them
2. Turns the screen into landscape
3. Turns off Pocket Plus ( or hides it, it only matters that Diary gets the full landscape view )
4. The Display light gets turned up all the way
Once I am on my way home, I tap on the another shortcut (HOME) which then:
1. Sets the volumes as I need them
2. Turns the screen into normal view
3. Turns ON Pocket Plus ( or makes it visible again )
4. The Display is set to my normal level ( two levels under the max )
Of course their could be lots more stuff that a realy Profile Program could/should do ( Different Ringtone Settings, Different Theme in the Office then at Home - don't wanna show your boss your girlfriend all the time now do you ;-), Different Items displayed on the Today Screen, etc. etc. )
So maybe you are able to think about my suggestions, it would be a great addition to your product portfolio I believe )
Very good idea! Not seen any software like that and just done a search in my normal sites - mainly freeware. Maybe a commercial one somewhere but none on a google search. Hope SPB listen to you
Hmm, funny, i was thinking in the same direction.
And why not let the 'Power on/off and 'USB connect' (etc) events trigger the profiles also ?
After developing the Tomtom Navigate2 script, i think i can do it, if i get enough information on the desired settings.
- Like BT on/off ; Needs a 'real' tool, there's no internal command, and changing regkey ain't enough.
So solved it with a script that calls BTon/BToff tool and changes regkey of the BT headset profile:
Ok, BT On/Off + BR Profile Toggle works !
What do i need then ?
"What setings should be changeable ? "
My suggestion :
- BT + BT HeadsetProfile (Done !)
- "ActiveSync when Craddled" option On/Off (Done !)
- Change Today Theme ? Would be nice.. (Not even looked at...)
The suggestions i just heard :
- Change ScreenRotation (isn't there a free tool for it ?)
- Change Today Items.
- Change Display Birgightness.
"How do we change these settings ?"
- BT is done,
- ASync is done,
- Screen rotation; Need commandtool (Doesn't VJ have a tool that does this ?) + Subroutine for script. So done, apart from writing it in the tool
- Screenrotation; if there is a commandtool for it, same as for 'Screen Rotation'
- Change Today items; Haven't got a clue, is thanging regkey and refersh today enough ?
- Display brightness; idem as Today Items....
So, let's get it rolling then
That would be so wonderful if this could be achieved! I have absolutly no plan on how do to it - but I have the ideas 8)
Pocket Plus lets you also rotate the screen with a tap on the screen, but what I wanted to achive is automation - simply by click ONE shortcut it does the whole thing for me - I am know I am a lazy person but hey thats a reason I got myself a PPC
This is similar to the one thing I miss from my nokia phones which is one click profiles for outdoor, indoor, meeting, etc. hope something comes of this.
What about PocketZenPhone???
PZP lets you set up anywhere from 2 to 7 profiles, controlling virtually everything you might associate with a profile, such as:
- ring / vibrate / volume / flash (and about a dozen variant combinations)
- the above for notification on just about any kind of event
- power settings for each profile both on battery and corded power
More features than it makes sense to list here. But I've been playing with it over the last couple of days. Very clean, and very functional. Many ways to use it also -
- today plugin (just tap an icon to switch profiles)
- task tray popup
- menu
- automated switching in sync with pocket Outlook
I've also traded email with the developer (zendrui) and it turns out to be pretty straightforward to get MS Voice Command to also switch profiles - I should have this all set up in the next hour. Love the idea of tapping the button to invoke Voice Command and just telling it to go to "silent" or "meeting", and having all settings adjusted at once.
Pocket Zen Phone
Hello all,
Check http://zendrui.free.fr . This sw is very good and keeps beeing updated.
Yes, this is a great program.... it is amazingly small for what it does and it does an amazing amount. It even controls which radio's are on or off and when.
Anyway... here is the link to open the forum thread that has 6.0 beta 7 http://zendrui.free.fr/PZPForum/viewforum.php?f=5
When I had Nokia phone, I used a program called miniGPS from Psiloc.com. This was the best program for profile switching. It worked by detecting all the cells at a location and allowing those cells to be put into a group. Then I could create events like "upon entering group, switch to meeting profile, turn off bluetooth, map the keys to do this...change screen saver, change wallpaper to this one..." etc. and upon exit from the cell group, change the ringer volume to max, switch wallpaper, and so on. Unfortunately, the Windows mobile equivalent of this program does not work on 8125. The PocketZenPhone is nowhere close. It works on fixed time basis. What if at that time I am not in office? Though I like the 8125, I badly miss the miniGPS program. It is sad that such a nice utility is not available for Windows.

Sounds really powerful, although I'm not sure I'd want the phone deciding when to switch profiles for me.
I've been experimenting with a set of shortcuts to invoke each profile, renaming them to be meaningful to me, such as, "HomeProfile", "OfficeProfile", "Silent", etc. Then I can use Voice Command to switch by saying something like "Run Silent" or "Run HomeProfile"...and it does.
One thing I liked about the built-in profile capability on the Nokia's we have is the fact that they would switch to my headset profile when I plugged in a pair of headphones, or when I simply turned on my pre-paired BT headset -- THAT was nice. I'd be curious to see how WM5 recognizes such an event -- I'd think that zendrui, the author of PocketZenPhone, would be able to hook such an event and offer us the option of having it trigger a profile change.
Here is the freeware version of Pocketzenphone 4.5.1 tested on my phone and works well. You have to fiddle with the settings but I got it working properly . If you like it can buy the full version 5 euros I think which is cheap. (me prob will)
I bought the currently shipping version (5.52?) and it works fine...but I wanted to try installing the shortcuts to invoke the various profiles, and the cabs that automatically create and install them (and the associated EXE's) in the right dirs assume NEW directory structures different than what the currently shipping version (5.52) uses. Instead, the new dir structure corresponds to the beta of version 6.0 -- currently at beta 7 I believe, and quite stable. I suspect it's nearing commercial release.
Anyway - ver 6 beta 7 can be downloaded free, and will function for a month. If you like it, it's something like $8 directly from the site, or $10 via Handango or a couple of others. This also buys you all future releases, and the author continues to upgrade this regularly. It's a good deal.
I tried to download 6.0 beta 7 but unable too. If anyone else has any joy please post
what about this one found on modaco http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=205779? it's free and wm5 compatable. i've not tried it. if you do, please report your opinion.

Just looking at the screens suggest to me that, while this one might work, it has far less control than PZP. Might be worth a try, but I like controlling power, backlight, vibration, etc along with ringtones and volume.
The Modaco Tool works, but as stated is by no means as powerful as ZenPhone.
Another problem with the modaco tool for me ( and many others, just check their forum ) is that after you UNINSTALL the tool it will most likely mess up your ringtones/settings.
Lucky me I had a backup of my system so I could recover without a hitch. The problem was that I had some weird ringtones listed that did not work and were actually never on my system and I could not choose any other ringtones after the uninstall.
I am gonna give Zenphone a try, it looks promising but also time consuming to setup - will give it a go this evening.
thanks jon for both tips. pzp beta won't download I think cuz I am browsing on pda and sometimes cabs won't download. Got ppcprofiles though great find well done. Initial testing promising.

well poo and that then!
Guys, this is an update to my old program VJSmallIcons. To say it's long overdue is an understatement
This version retains and persists settings between folders. It can also make the Programs launcher fullscreen. When you go fullscreen, there is a menu option to permit navigation back up to the previous folder.
On a whim, for no good reason at all, I've also implemented my interpretation of the Vista View Mode slider, as seen here in Vista.
The slider can be used to toggle modes. Even if you don't need the app, try the slider! I quite like it  Hopefully you'll see this again in VJSihaya.

nice unlike the first one, this one works on my device %)
the slider's a bit silly, I suppose, but kinda cute
( are you supposed to be able to drag it? only seems to respond to taps )
However... I just got stuck in a subdir :x VJSmallIconsII disappeared, and tapping 'OK' (which normally goes a dir up) did nothing. Not sure what I did to get in that state. Edit: Found it, check follow-up posts
and a suggestion... the 'go up one level' bit, perhaps it should carry the name of the level above, instead of the current level?
bug report.. if you run it twice, you will seemingly just be using VJSmallIconsII as normal. But changing any of the modes does nothing. If you exit it, it becomes apparent that you were already running it a copy of it - as that instance with its view (which changes correctly) is still there.
btw - nice UI (not sarcasm.. it really is nice!)
whewps.. now it locked up my device >_< I'll try and repro
yay repro
I have PHM PPC Powertoys installed, so I have a dir structure...
"\Program Files\PHM Tools\PHM PPC Powertoys\"
from a fresh boot:
1. Start > Programs (required first-run)
2. Start > VJSmallIconsII (in program history, still)
3. Start > Programs > PHM Tools > PHM PPC Powertoys
4. Tap VJSmallIconsII floater
result: floater disappears
expected result: pop up menu should appear
at this pont everything still seems fine - you can navigate around, etc.
5. Tap OK button
result: nothing happens, you're stuck at this level
expected result: should go up a level
-----
With MagicButton running - Steps 1-4
5. Tap (MagicButton) OK button
result: device locks up
expected result: should go up a level
-----
I don't know if it's the length of the folder name, or the fact that there's two spaces, or... etc. Can't keep poking at it right now
ZeBoxx: Many thanks.
I'll look into the hang. That's not when you're running it twice is it?
It's hanging because it's subclassing the Programs screen, and if for some reason VJSmallIconsII crashes, it'll take the Programs screen down with it.
It does contain code to detect multiple instances, but it occurs to me that because of the way the window is created it's probably not being detected. I didn't contemplate it being run twice I'll fix that!
Yes, slider responds to taps not sliding  Not sure if I'll fix that! At least for now, it's just GUI...
The folder name - good idea, although it's basically for showing what the current folder name is, if you've got it in fullscreen mode and can't see for yourself. I don't mind incorporating either way, whichever you guys think is most logical.
Bug is confirmed with PHM (I have a similar folder structure). I'll look into it when I get home.

Probably doesn't matter - the hang is just when using MagicButton, so I suspect it's because it's using a different method to 'close' the window?

What os is this supposed to work with? I put it on my 2002 devices and no go. I don't like to try unfinished stuff on the newer phones that I actually use (as phone).
This is a bit off topic....
vijay555, your programs alway seem so slick. You obviously put a great deal of work into them. My question is, why spend so much time on programs that help the user interact with the device when the there is a lack of programs that provide real usefull functionality. I am not critisizing any of you projects, more just pointing at what I see as a lack of things to actually do with a ppc once you have it working.
Hey unable to download this app from your site!
OdeeanRDeathshead: not sure about 2002. It's been tested on Emulator, WM2003SE and WM5. I don't have any 2002 devices to test it on.
Either way, I'd suggest waiting about 45 mins so I can get the buffer overflow bug fixed.
Re the offtopic: I've got a lot of new stuff to write, but for me, I do a lot of playing around mainly as an offshoot of reading. For this app: I wanted to make an app to hide reminders. Thus I wanted an app to remodel the reminders. Thus I wanted to change the button style of the dismiss all button. As a result I thought I'd try the same on the Programs window. It was semi-useful (I never use Programs), so I released VJSmallIcons. I know one guy who used it - it's a small market
Next I'm working on VJToggleToday II. For that, I needed to make a subclassing routine. It was easier to debug that in VJSmallIcons II. So I wrote the subclasser as reusable code.
At the same time, I got interested in owner drawn menus for a TV Listings app I wrote on the PC in VB, which I want to move over to the PPC eventually:
So I experimented with owner drawn menus, and then for no good reason the slider.
So circling back, the subclasser will be re-used in VJToggleToday II, which is a useful app, and the slider will reappear in some form in VJSihaya.
I don't really have time to write "big" apps like a word processor etc. I write what interests or distracts me, or is otherwise being used for research. It's a hobby My stuff is mostly for my own use, or research, but some of it occassionaly might be useful to the wider world, which is why I release it publically. But there are a myriad of bugs and issues in the Phone OS which I like to address for my own use, eg why does it take so many clicks to start a new calendar entry? Why can't we add numbers to existing contacts? If it bothers me enough, I look into my own solutions, more as an academic exercise.
Phew, time for lunch

Guys, I've put the new version, v2.01 back on my site. Fixes the crash on long folder names and prevents loading multiple instances.

PS I don't use magic button. Not sure why that would be any special case. Please report bugs as usual, with BIG BOLD LETTERS. Not really

I highly suspect that, as the issue with regards to the long folder names bit taking down Programs is gone, is no longer an issue
Guys,
I've posted a minor update to version v2.02 to fix a small bug where the vertical offset wasn't being taken into account correctly in fullscreen mode.
My audience of 1, ZeBoxx, might have noticed

This keyboard is probably the best I've used to date! If anyone else posted about this already, I didn't see it sorry.
But this is well worth a look for anyone else who thinks the in-built keyboard is too small or the tengo keyboard is not comprehensive enough.
This Fingertouch keyboard from teksoft has 5 variations of input methods, one must meet your needs.
Personally I like the default QWERTY keyboard with bigger buttons than usual. It all works very well indeed.
Check them out for a 16 day trial or purchase it for a $10 or a fiva in UK.

good call on this one. I used tengo briefly but this is much more responsive and easier to use.
its the first app that has made me consider leaving my keyboard off of my device and avoid those nasty scratches it creates.

Glad you like it. It's hard not to. Should be useful if it works well with TrueVGA for the upcoming cooked ROM. Anyone running True or RealVGA and wanna test this app for the Athena community/Project?
feedback....& trueVGA testing...
- This is an AWESOME keyboard. Works so nicely in native mode and I love the way you can change between all the profiles so easily!
- In trueVGA mode it's okay. You can still do all the same stuff, of course, but the keyboard itself looks a little stretched out. At least it tries to go across the entire screen unlike other keyboards. I'm sure with a custom skin, this will work out. I haven't tried to play with the settings under trueVGA mode to see if I can get it to display better but I will later.
Thanks and great find!

Yep.. a much better input compared to the standard one. I like its larger button that perfectly fit my big fingers.

I would like to know if you guys tested the macroing this keyboard comes with. For eg. try typing !cap (starts a timer then captures screen - parameters adjustable in the registry HKLM\Software\Teksoft\FingerTouch) or open a new Notes document or Pocket Word and type !gre
There are other macros, see Settings->Input->Options->FastKB
Phonepad is still my favorite
I realise I type faster with Phonepad, even with one finger. Simpler layout plus easy switching to various modes

Uninstall it and find out. Won't take more than 10min to test if it's the cause or not.
1.75 also here. Found this program today and because
it is a must have and with so many progs i had installed
couldn't find which was causing the prob, so hard reseted
the x7500.. wisbar advance 3 ok..spb backup ok (made backup)
fingertouch 1f error after soft reset. After it was uninstalled,
wm5torage worked fine again. And something crucial
i forgot to mention, i'am still on wm5.

Ah this could indeed be your main problem. I had times when using WM5, when the WM5torage was also temperamental in working sometimes than not at others. Since switching to the Dopod WM6 ROM, no issues at all.

I think this is exactly what I was looking for, I will refer this thread in another were I was discussing about keyboards. By-bye SPB, time to go for a true finger keyboard
I have included a snapshot of how it looks on my device, I find the 5th layout very useful, see below a picture from my device. I think I'll be able to write emails as fast as on the Desktop PC with it

You won't have to wait more than 30 minutes if you follow the unlocking instructions in the thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315831
Be sure to search for and download the Dopod WM6 ROM first, but don't apply until you have unlocked your device, otherwise you'll brick your device.

There is a solution for that "1f error". Use a task manager and kill the cprog.exe file. That would shut the phone antennae OFF for a while, allowing you to use WM5torage to be activated. Once activated, there should be no more problem.

Another reason for the "1f" seems to be active items on the storage card or MicroDrive. I use Wisbar (I think, or else iLaunch maybe) to start in "safe" mode, then it works like a champ.
Actually, now you need not struggle with WM5torage and its associated problem with pluggins and memory anymore. The good old Card Export that worked on WM2003 now has a version that works with WM5 and WM6. I've already made the switch and much prefer it over WM5torage for a few reasons:
1) There is no memory shortage issue. You can always connect and disconnect anytime, with no soft reset.
2) You are able to connect to both the microdrive and sd card at the same time.
3) You can instantly toggle between async and card export mode.

Looks nice. I will try it and give my feedback!
Possible?
Nice program you've made. But i'm wondering if its possible to launch an exe instead of playing musicfiles?
hey hey new thread for the New Year
some "link" to our previous discussion:
(before trying 1.0.3)
4) (about the G-Alarm screen that returned to today screen) no I didn't have an alarm set for this time
8) (about the "repeats") please do some checks - also try using the virtual keyboard instead of the "-/+" buttons ... as for the thing you don't understand, let's start from the beggining: A very small wav alarm (let say a two-second sound), how is it played by G-Alarm? Auto-repeat until snooze or stop? If this is the way then it is clear.
11) I understand your point about the registry...
NEW points:
1) I hope that the confirm message boxes that you say returned in 1.0.3 ARE SWITCHABLE! (I for one do NOT want an extra confirmation after I click the button or solve the quiz)
2) How can us Touch Pro users help you?
3) Don't spend too much time refining the audio player... this is an alarm clock.
5) Keep up the good work, but take a break for New Years Eve!

you are confusing me with your numbers ;-)
4) strange
8) I try everything and will fix it
-> every sound file (doesn't matter how large it is) will be repeated until you snooze/stop an alarm
2) I don't know... A friend of mine has a Sony Xperia X1, I will ask him if he has the problem, too and if he has, I think I can find the bug
if not: you have to send me your TP
3) I agree, I never wanted to change the audio player
5) who cares? there will be a new years eve next year as well ;-)
no, I really have to take a break. my "career" demands some time the next few weeks. I just wanted to release v1.0 and to fix the major bugs and then work on my doctorate
...and then you know what eh?
You need to update G-Watch with all the nice things you learned from the development of G-Alarm. (plus you need to update the icon to say "G-Watch" instead of "GWatch" for consistency... you know you are the Trademark "G-*" guy.
Hi Ageye,
thank you very much for v1 and above. This looks great and is looking always better.
Got a question though: on the today pluggin, only the next alarm is shown? we can browse them directly from it, we have to open the mnain prog ?
Thanks man .

very good job ageye
thanks a lot for your help
Settings lost???
Installed the new version. Looks indeed great.
But lost all previous wake-up settings. Correct?
Just installed version 1.03 but testing the alarm doesn't work on my trinity as i did with 0.8.3.
The sound doesn't work when i test the alarm. When i raise the curtain i see the file is playing and the volume is at 100% but the file can only be heard when i manually raise the volume with the sound+ button.
I also noticed that when i close the app the today plugin shows the names of my alarms over each other. When i click it, it turnes back to normal.
One request: i use the buttons of my phone a lot to activate items on my today screen. Started doing so when i broke my digitiser and had to wait for an replacement for two weeks. It is not possible to operate g-alarm with buttons. Can you add some basic functionality to g-alarm to react to buttons?
Arjan
The download from your website showed as v1.0.2. Is there any error?
Thanks once again for a great job.
Blackstone v1.02 - slight problem waking up this morning (not me G-Alarm!) - had to press the power button to get the G-Alarm screen on. Alarm was loud and clear but screen asleep. On hitting snooze the screen did come on again every time after snooze time was up.
Skins and wallpaper - noticed the attached error when you try and change the wallpaper from storage card files. No problem with selecting files on the device. Also can change wallpaper and buttons but seem to be stuck with grey background in the other pages. Anyway to change this with the new version?
Thank you.
For CABs See Post #2
Added hAndyPowerButton WM6.1
Updated hAndyNotify to install in hAndySoftware folder.
Added hAndyPowerButton - WM6.5 ONLY
Over the last couple of months I have written a number of tweaks, using Mortscript, for my TP2 to enhance it's use for me personally.
The story to date are the following bits and pieces I have created -
DPB v1.1 - A utility to disable the power button when the keyboard is open
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546094&highlight=disable+power+button
Hide Folder - A utilty to hide folders from HTC Album
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548841&highlight=hide+folder
hAndyFlip - A utility to turn off the screen when the device is face down.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560206&highlight=handyflip
hAndyUtils - A number of utilities and tweaks I use, wrapped together including some of the above.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553784
So why this new thread, you may ask
I have decided to split the tweaks/utilities into seperate packages and rewrite them all as standalone packages. You can then pick and mix which, if any, you may find useful.
I am no expert, so it makes it easier for me to fix an individual app if something is wrong rather than trying to fix several things at once.
The one tweak that I could not do without is the disabling of those annoying BT Notifications. So that is the first one I have worked on and you can find the program in Post #2.
I will be working through the other tweaks one at a time and hopefully finding new tweaks and utilities that enhance our devices. So in advance thanks for your patience.
I will continue to listen to feedback and offer any help I can on the threads above until I have posted the updated apps on here.
Apps - start here..............
hAndyNotify
This little app allows you to disable the annoying BT Notifications when you connect/disconnect the device.
Run the app select the option you would like from the dropdown box and press 'Process'.
Hopefully, it's as simple as that !
CAB at the bottom of this post.
hAndyPowerButton - WM6.5
Added hAndyPowerButton WM6.1 Version
This app disables the power button when the hardware keyboard is open.
Run the app select activate - soft reset and the power button will be deactivated when you open the keyboard. Also, the device will be set to any key power on should it fall to sleep.

I have just uploaded a version of hAndyPowerButton for WM6.1 Devices.
I tried hAndyPowerButton 6.1 and, initially, all was well, but then I managed to get into a state where the power button didn't work at all (open or closed).
No bother, I'll just remove the app and reboot, I thought.
Sadly, after a soft reset I'm getting various warnings about the handyPowerButton executable not being found and the power button is still not working - I'm getting an error about "Sleep" cannot be found.
Any ideas?
Update
I managed to recover the power button by reinstalling hAndyPowerButton, enabling it and soft resetting a couple of times. Is there an "official" way to uninstall this, though?

Hi, sorry this does not seem to work for you. I am using WM6.5 and it works perferctly for me not sure why you have had a problem.
A small bug I will look into is that you possible need to deactivate the software in the program before you uninstall.
The way to fix the problem is delete hAndyPoweButton.exe from \windows\startup - also check that the following 2 links short_power.lnk and long_power.lnk are not in \windows if they are you need to delete them manually.
Apologies for causing you problems if you need any more info please let me know.
Andy
Thanks very much for the response and there's no need to apologise. I appreciate all the time and effort the contributors to xda-devs put in and understand that what works for one person may not work for me; it's just part of the fun!
I like the function provided by hAndyPowerButton, so I think I'll give it another try and will let you know if I see problems again.
Thanks for all your apps!
Ed
i didnt even notice you updated and renamed the DPB to handy power button.
how does this one differ from the older version? i didnt see much info on it in the thread. i use DPB only 4 the fact it has the no timeout (keep kb lights on) when kb open.
thanks

Hey, we are both dumbasses. Thanks for posting that little detail
Great app, just what I was looking for.
Unbelievable that no one at HTC realized that the placement of the power button would interfere when a normal persons hand when the hardware keyboard is in use.
You'd think they test these things a bit more!
hAndyNotify for other HTC Windows Mobile 6.5 phones?
Apologies if this is the wrong thread. I recently upgraded my HTC Ozone (Verizon's variant of the HTC Snap keyboard-style phone) to Windows Mobile 6.5. An annoying new "feature" is that when you turn off your Bluetooth car kit, a notification appears telling you to put the phone to your ear, and you can't do anything else until you dismiss the notification (OK on left softkey.) I could understand the notification if Bluetooth dropped in the middle of a call, but otherwise it's just a pain.
It appears that hAndyNotify.cab might be just what I need, however it also appears that it's designed for touchscreen phones (running Windows Mobile Pro). For example, it references a "Sounds and Notifications" section of Settings, but I don't have such a section, only "Sounds". Does anyone know if (a) will it work on my phone, (b) if I try it, will it hurt anything, and (c) is there any other way to fix the problem? (In other threads there is another registry hack, but it also seems to be for touchscreen phones.)
Thanks for your help!
Thank you thank you thank you!
... for getting rid of that retarded bluetooth message! You are da man!
