Unless they have gotten better with support in the last 3 months or so I would stay away from Flexmail a lot of people have had issues and reported them but none are taken care of.

thanks for the replys that flexmail looks good
ill give it ago n let u know how i get on

Yeah, definately flexmail for now.
For those of us w/o exchange servers, we'll be anxiously awaiting WM6, as it can receive full html as well as the normal checking email while the phone is suspended. Flexmail still can't do that.

4smartphone.net Exchange Server Service

Greetings all,
I upgraded my 8125 to the Qtek ROM via summiter's ROM upgrade tool, (worked perfectly, thanks summiter!) and I enabled push email.
Since I didnt have and Exchange server, I signed up for one with 4smartphone.net after reading about them in PocketPC Mag. Anyone use them? there's a 15 day trial, but they couldnt get my account setup right after calling them 3 times and about 4 hours wait, then it seemed to work, push email worked great..
Now this morning, they're server is unresponsive again.. jsut wondering if anyone uses them and what their experiance with them is.. i'm not to happy with them right now..
I would also be interested in this. I need to find a good shared exchange provider and I am thinking about going with Intermedia.net.
I wasn't happy with the response I got on a pre-sales query. So I used 1and1.co.uk instead.
They provide push mail (but don't list it) and support a multi-domain email. The only down side is that they don't provide spam filtering. But I figured out how to block it (spam) via filtering.

I have been using 4smartphone for about a month w/o difficulty -- I use Outlook rules to send copies of all my office mail to 4smartphone which then pushes them to my k-jam. Only negative in this is that all the msg. come in with my name and address as the sender (no prob changing this if I use reply but it is an extra step). Service is quite fast and so far w/o problems in either direction.
well, just got an email from them about the server outage, with them profusely apologising.. at least they're letting their customers know about it..
another thing i didnt really like is you have to pay for a full year up front.. although right now i'm diggin' the fact that i get push email(tested i get an email within 15 seconds of it being sent), and also that my Outlook on my laptop and my 8125 are fully synced.. if i read it on my 8125, it's listed as read on my laptop and vice versa, so i dont have to re-read anything or whatever.. pretty slick.. they also sync contacts, tasks, calendar, etc too..
they have a 15 day trial, so im gonna give it another week or so and see how it goes..
Just signed up for this at mail2 web. I used to use them ages ago just to check a couple of pop3 accounts at work, but they are doing a beta of a free hosted Exchange service. Even better is that you can get a personal Exchange account for $1.99 a month. You need to create an email address with them, but you can link other pop3 accounts to it as well.
http://services.mail2web.com/FreeServices/m2wLive/
What I like about 4smartphone.net is that when you send mail through them, it will show as your own pre-set email address and not [email protected].
I just finished the trial and signed up for their Express service. I think you can get your money back (pro rata) if you cancel before your subscription expires.
I was considering 1and1.co.uk or 1and1.com too, but couldn't be asked to change all the settings.
I've been using 4smartphone since January and so far I am very happy with them. I have sent about 4 emails to tech support and I received responses within a few hours and they were very helpful. They even verified that my account switched from SMS notification to direct push when I asked (after I upgraded).
I really like using them, so much so that I got the company I work for to sign up with 4smartphone. There are a total of 9 people at my work. Great customer service and a great price.
I just setup a mail2web account and had some problems getting either the txt message based push to work or the direct push to work.
After I contacted them they told me this functionality hasn't been installed and will be done over the next week.
good service
I used 4smartphone when i was working from my office at home and the service was good. I am in a 30+ staff office now and we use Intermedia which is great to. I've got my email set up on my blackberry and you can check your email through outlook on the web which is convenient as well.

Free Exchange PushMail Upgrade??

Should I upgrade to Exchange 2007? This upgrade I can probably get done by the end of the weekend, but that means you will have another couple days of downtime...but now that my server supports x64 I can upgrade to Exchange 2007.
Also, please state why you chose what you chose.
Anyone have any comments?

Oh yes. I have an exchange 2007 account and its great. No going back for me, the html email are worth it alone.
At the moment you are competing with mail2web, if you go to 2007, the service you offer will be almost unique.
Rob
So far its an overwhelming yes...so unless I hear some reasons as to why I should not do it, I will be doing this upgrade starting tomorrow at about 11-12pm PST.
I voted yes, although I won't beusing the html email option. It's a excellent service DeniaL is offering, fast, secure etc. Am very happy with it and would definately recommend it.
Voted YES
I voted yes as I came across this article a while ago, and got a boost of enthusiasm...
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=6575
Bottom line, security, ease of setup/ migration and attachment handling.
Cheers again,
I say yes.
Although there will be downtime, I imagine that this will be a down side but the downtime will have to be experienced at some time or another.
From all accounts Exchange 2007 is amazing.
well i know you will take more than half of port88's clients if you upgrade to 2007 me included!! Please 2007 feels like its part of WM6 which we all seem to ba running and a reason why we came to XDA
I'm very happy you're upgrading the server, html email is great, but the most important part is the device wipe option from the OWA interface, just in case your phone gets lost/stolen
i voted yes and also emailed yes. I use WM6 and the HTML email is something i'd really like. obviously the upgrade is happening right now. when do you expect it to be back up and running again?

Imap Gmail Fixed

Looks like gmail have fixed their IMAP problem.
All messages HTML included are now coming through will complete bodies.
Holy crap, macguffin! I'll try it out now too! Thanks for the update -- I'll post one when I find out.
Haha, you know, I didn't even know there was a problem with it, but I did just set up Gmail through IMAP on my phone a couple of days ago and have been getting blank emails. Sometime last night though the emails started coming through properly, so I guess that's what you're talking about, so yeah, I can confirm that it works now.
Wow that took them a long time to fix, but yay! Good news. Thanks for the heads up, I gave up checking on it a month ago.
Wow.. it is a very good news. I can start using the default mail client to check Google Email and as well as check my work email as well.
FYI...
This is working on my Treo700 now...
I did have to delete my account information and re-download. But after that! It worked fine!
Ditto.
I deleted my account settings from my kaiser or vodafone v1615 and then set the system up again so it downloaded a weeks emails and it all works fine.
Thanks Googlemail.
I'm gonna try it for a few days before posting it works... So you'll hear from me again.
Confirmed. It works!
I've been forwarding my email to a hotmail account to get push for awhile now since gmail wasnt working, I think I'm going to just keep doing that.
wow, it actually works. took me a week to figure out what alternative to use instead of my gmail, now a few weeks later they actually fix it, took long enough.. how long was this not working for, a year or so? lol
this the best thing since christmas lol btw also confirm this
I have only had my kaiser for a month so it has not bothered me a lot but now it works it will save on my data costs as i was using 2 devices for my email.
At the moment Flexmail is running, so please could anyone of you check this:
I want to have the last week's mail on my device. Can I do this with the built-in messaging application?
Syncing the whole inbox would be too much on my device and deleting every old mail manually is annoying.

There is an option in the email account's settings to download anything from today's message to last 3/5/7/30 days worth or even all messages.
Also IMAP will keep everything synchronised.
Is that what you meant?
Yes, thanks. That is the feature I meant.
But now i see, that windows mobile's messaging application has no imap idle support.
So, I will continue using Flexmail. It is not that comfortable, but I can adjust the location of saved mails and it has imap idle.
Imap idle is MUCH more flexible than direct push over exchange

Seemed it's fixed indeed.
Yey! Good news... shame ther is no folder mapping in pocket outlook though. Plus i would want it to not upload sent items as then you would end up getting copies!

Fed up, need working push email.

I'm fed up! I need a reliable push email service that works all the time, every time. I don't have the luxury of an Exchange Server, I did not get Live Mobile with my AT&T WM6 upgrade, nor can I get it to install after the fact.
Emoze only pushes on occassion, Seven pushes fine, but I can't reply to or send a new message.
What's next? I'll happily pay for good service. Any suggestions?
Thanx,
Woe
Maybe use a ROM with WLM etc already built in... then use hotmail or something...
I feel your pain. I'm the same way. I was just looking up solutions and wondering if emoze got any better since all the bad reviews.
I'm seriously considering the move to the BB Bold next month. The battery life on my hermes sucks with the push solutions. I just can't find any thing works nicely.
Fed up... cont.

Perhaps you could recommend something, and point me in the right direction?
My experience with WM6 ROMS here at XDA is that they're all in a .rar format, and I've never been able to extract anything installable.
Your help would be most welcome.
Thanx,
Woe
Response from emoze
Hello all,
There are many builds of Windows Mobile out there, many of which are not endorsed or supported by the device vendors and/or providers.
Please understand that we cannot provide support for operating systems that are not officially approved and tested for specific hardware.
To summarise matters - If your WM ROM is from your provider/device vendor, emoze will work without a problem, and we can provide full support for it.
To contact our support team, please email us at support (at) emoze (dot) com

SMS and Exchange 2010

I've been using Exchange 2010 for a while now, all the way from beta, and one of the nicest things is it's 6.5 integration allowing you to send and view SMS's from the Outlook/OWA interfaces.
Problem is, it seems that HTC Messaging breaks this, I cant send any SMS's and they dont show up in the Outlook interfaces.
Anyone know how to get it working again? I know I can 'disable' HTC Messaging, and if needs must I'll do that, but it brings with it other issues if you do.
Anyone? there has to be a way?
Yes, yesterday I tried out to disable HTC-messaging, because SMS synching Exc2010 did not work.
And yes, after following all four steps, as described here, it did come back!
Downside so far is, you cannot write an SMS through the HTC-contact-app, so you'll have to use a different "new SMS" function, and you will not get threaded SMS view, just plain old classic view. But you still can view new SMSs in the HTC inbox of sense.
I can live with that
Yeah, that's what I used to do on the HD, however I've kinda got used to the new Messaging client on a device that can run it at least
I'll open a support case with HTC and see if they will acknowledge the problem, and see if they have an official fix. If not, it's the hassle of finding an ArcSoft that wont stuff things up as well, and back to TMail....
Just got this from HTC
At the moment this is not fully compatible. Please keep an eye on our website, I have noted the information on he new Exchange 2010 and we may indeed implement this in the future without having to hack the registry (please do not do this as it voids any Warranty and in some cases can brick the PDA). I cannot confirm if we will go ahead with this or not at the moment until I have more information.
Thank you.

I have to say a "fair play" to HTC re. this response - actually seems like someone who knows what they're talking about has looked at it (all be it probably briefly) which is a huge leap over the normal "have you tried resetting it sir?" response.
Obviously the ideal response would've been "yes we know, our guys are working on it as we speak, should be ready around Xmas time".. we can live and hope!
Probably wouldn't hurt for all of us interested in getting this working to drop them a line stating such and thus hopefully raising it up their priority list.. can someone please confirm an email address?
I've just used the standard HTC Support service through the website, I've posted a reply saying that it's a feature MS are Talking Up with the release of Exchange 2010 and WM6.5, as it is, and as it stands none of the HTC 6.5 phones will actualy work using the feature.
So let's hope...
I asked them to seriously look into it, as it's a Microsoft published feature that's being broken, and got this back seems someone at HTC (even if it is 1st line) has some common sense. Seems the Irish service center is a good one to target for problems
"Thank you for the feedback and suggestion Ashleigh, it would be a very good idea to include this feature in the future with new updates. I am going to see if this would be possible. I hope it is as I would use this as well."

Be nice to know if anyone has tried the new 1.66 firmware and tested Exchange. I am in Australia and as one carrier here is exclusive till end of March there will be no 1.66 for me for ages.
If it works. I will HSPL my device with the UK version but only if it fixes the issue. Then when warranty is needed I will tell them i had no choice as I wanted a default Windows Mobile feature back.
Unfortunately 1.66 doesn't fix this one
Just got my new SIM free HD2 and am having the same sort of problem when trying to Sync my texts via Exchange 2010.....have also contacted HTC support but guess I'll get the same answer i.e. we're looking into it.
Let's hope that enough people want to use the text sync feature and contact HTC so that they actualyl sort it.....ASAP?
Russell
I had consulted HTC a couple weeks back. Speaking to the service rep he mentioned that the developers didn't have access to an Exchange 2010 server. I found this rather odd.
Anyway as I run my OWN server I have offered to the service rep that they can have an account on my server if they wish to test with. He sounded very excited and I told him I would need time to setup an acount (and segregation from my clients). He even rang me back later that day to chase up the details. I had sent through all the info they need to for OWA and for Outlook via HTTP.
This was a couple weeks ago and early last week I received an email saying they are still working on the issue. So we will wait and see what happens.
Hey guys, any update on this?
This is a bit weird but... I have managed to get this to work fine, on 2 different ROM's so far (both Touch Pro 2's, one a T7373 and the other a T7378). To get it to work on my phone, I took my 3 SIM out, and put in an Optus SIM. On first sync, it worked. To get my mate's to work, we took his 3 SIM out, and put in an Exetel (uses Optus network) SIM. Same thing.
No idea how or why... but we all have SMS sync working properly now, can send and receive SMS via Outlook.
I've tried it yesterday and I've received a couple of SMS from the phone, but I can't send through Outlook, can send via Outlook OWA, but the messages never gets through and activesync on the phone takes 99% cpu and I have to reset the phone to get it to work again. It's frustrating.
You just send a message from Outlook and it goes to your phone via ActiveSync and sends correctly? Damn!
I've got a message from HTC support that it should work fine with the latest official ROM update, anybody can confirm?
