Hello,
I am a new owner of a Qtek 9000 (I had an Axim x50v before). I am very happy with it except that I am disapointed about the fact that we cannot use diagonal directions when playing games. It seems that, on the d-pad, we cannot press 2 directions (or the button + one direction) at the same time ...
Does anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem ?
Thanks a lot !
Nobody's playing games with its universal ?
Hi,
They are - but not games that require 2 key presses.
A lot of PPC's dont allow this - so an alternative control method is required for example stylus movement.
Someone in this forum mentioned about rewriting the keyboard driver - but I dont think they got anywhere!!
Matt
Too bad, anyway thanks a lot for your answer !
I saw the thread about the new keyboard driver making ... Unfortunatly nobody began it ...

I recently reflashed my o2 xda mini s with the far superior imate rom. it's much better however the mapping on my slide out keyboard is now slightly wrong.
all of the unshifted keys are fine (letters, arrows, backspace etc) but when i hit shift, many of the symbols are bounced one key over. For example Shift A should be ! and is now ~. Shift S is now ! and should be @ etc etc.
Where can i change/update/hack this ?
thanks,
malty
Yeah had the same problem too. aAfter upgrading to the latest Qtek rom on my O2 xda mini s. Will appreciate a solution to rhis problem
You probably just need to change the keyboard locale in the registry. Just search the forum or look at the Wiki and you will find it.
cant find how/where to do that, anyone help ? thanks
fixed it using the tool in this thread,

set keyb to uk english ticked the box and rebooted

I purchased a TyTn (currently using it with Rogers in Canada) and I've been having problems with the hardware keyboard. The KB isn't terribly responsive (typing lag) and at times requires more than one touch of a key to make it show up on the screen .... this has led me to use the virtual keyboard almost exclusively ... any suggestions (rom upgrades etc) that would fix this annoying problem ?
Furthermore is there any way to lock the keyboard in place as one of the biggest annoyances is that the keyboard slides out by accident when I'm trying to answer a call or perform some other task ...
thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Your problems have come up before so please use the search facility and restrict searches to Hermes forum using advanced search.
Regarding loose keyboard if it's very loose and under warranty - return device. Otherwise see my site or indeed the wiki under hardware in the Hermes board Wiki link at top of page.

Hello everybody!
First of all, sorry for my English!
I have a poblem with my HTC NIKI, the device slowdown when the pointer is pressed. When I do this everything start to go really slow until I leave the pointer off of the screen. Using a TaskManager I saw that the CPU usage grows up when this happen.
I tried different ROMS and differents devices and all the same. With this problem is impossible to use any game (like Nanobots) or program that require pointer drag.
Here is a video of another guy with the same problem (in other PDA).

Any idea? I tried to disable touch flow but still the same!
Thanks for all!

It's the graphic Driver...
There will be no patch
correcto! i have found a solution to this issues, some guy managed to get the driver out of some other HTC. Try here

Hello, I´m bit lame about that, but does exist some launcher for 640*480 games which will use that another 160*480 pixels for software dpad(which I can use for maping dpad buttons in my pocket gba emulator) ?

That looks like I can use this for maping my volume keys anc calls keys as dpad keys, but it is still very ugly uncomfortable solution. And its also some beta and need some netframeworks 3,5 also... :-/

Dear all,
this topic has been raised already many times in the HTC Raphael Forum, but it seems like nothing happened yet.
The idea is to use the touch sensible area around the DPad to control a mousepointer on the Touch Pro device.

Is there somebody out there interested?
It would make many people happy I think.
Thanks and have a nice evening,
Bytecube
The best would be this mousepointer app in combination with something like SimpleOS.

Dear all,
I did some research (took very long time;-) on this topic and found two programs. One program is simulating a mousepointer which can be controlled by the D-PAD. THe other program is able to read the data of the touch sensitive pad of the lower area of the HTC Touch Pro. Both inclusive source code (attached).
First I tried to do it myself, but my programming skills of C++ is not enough and I failed. :-(
The simplest way would just be first to merge those two programs...
I attached all files, maybe somebody of you can help me?
Thanks in advance! This would really be a great and still missing app for the HTC Touch Pro.
Best regards,
Bytecube
Dear all,
after long time searching I found the answer: GScroll 1.5 Beta
http://mobilesrc.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=122
In the new version of GScroll you can find GCursor which simulates a mouspointer which can be controlled by the touchpad.
Best regards,
Christopher
