Hi to all of you,
I am using the SPB mobile shell 2.0 (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en) on my official WM6 HTC touch cruise and see a hughe battery drain problem !
Can anyone tell me if this battery drain also occurs using WM 6.1 rom?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Dag
No battery problem on my Cruise (bepe 0.58, SPB Mobile Shell 2.0, 3G).
how long last your battery please?
mine last 2days max is it normal or not?
thx
2 days is pretty much OK under normal use of the phone with some calls, 20 min WiFi and 10 min GPS. Also depends on how much you play around with the phone. The display sucks a lot of power
With a clean fresh install (hard reset) my battery goes to 0% WITHOUT USING THE PHONE in 48 hours !!
DO you find it normal as well?
With SPB mobile shell installed it is even quicker (about 36 hours) !
Dag
Try to use "Advanced Configuration Tool" to enable:
- SD Memory power managment
- AsyncMac1 power managment
- PPTP1 power managment
- L2TP1 power managment
Alo problems may be usage of 3G connection or Push Email
I use WM6.1 bepe .58 and Mobile Shell 2 and have no battery drain problem.

Your TC possibly is defective ..... ( or your battery ) ..
With Black Widow Skinny wm6.1 & SPB mob. Shell v2 my TC lasts for 2.5 days.
(medium use of phone, wifi & radio) ....
im also noticed power drain increased.im using battery status and monitoring cpu and power all the time. before installing spb ms 2.0 normal drain was 37-40 mah(light off),cpu 0-2, after install everything was ok,but next day power drain become around 90! nothing else changed. Uninstalled this nice thinny and back to normal.

I have done the same test using battery status and my measurements where: lights off 31-48 mA (avg: 33 mA) and with full lights on: 120-135mA. I use spb shell 2 on WM6.1 for a week now and had no problems.. The battery usage depends on many factors. But two days while phone is in suspend mode is not good.

Dear Uni, 33mA means that your battery lasts for 1350/33 = 40.91 Hours.
Less than 2 days.....
With 120 mA current flow your battery lasts for 1350 / 120 = 11.25 Hours ...
If your cell provider has no good signal in your area, then
current flow is about 60 - 70 mA . Your battery lasts for 1360 / 65 = 20.76 Hours ...
So you realize that power consumption depends on many factors ....

40.91 hours while mobile is continuously is on (with backlight turned off) I think it’s pretty good! Also the reception is less that 50%...
Do you mean 60-70mA while device is in suspend mode? or with display on without backlight?

60-70 mA while display is on & backlight at level 4/10 .... mobile reception 0-1/4 bars.
I'd like to say that power consumption depends on many factors ....
My experience with mobile shell would suggest that you look at the weather options, particularly at the download of weather maps. These maps are large downloads which keep the HSDPA engaged and busy. If you are seeing the 'H' symbol connected then your TC is actively downloading. I found the battery drain to be corrected by not selecting the option to automatically download weather maps. (perhaps this applies to your experience)
Well, i'm getting about 4-5 days worth. In these days: 20mins calls, some sms'ing, WiFi 15mins, GPS 10mins, e-book reading 20mins.
Display at setting 2 (1-4: no BL to full BL), WiFi at medium performance and only switched on when i use it, hsdpa and BT switched off.
Are you guys having the same issue with the cooked 6.1 rom ???
Does 6.1 consume less power or is there no change between wm6 and wm6.1??

Hello,
I am using MossiROM V2.1 GER, also tried Touch V4.01 WM6.1 editions. My battery lasts only 1.5 days. I talk about 30 min, 15min WIFI daily. I also use SPB Shell 2.0.
I dunno but the battery seems to last better when I was using WM6.0.
But while in standby battery cunsomption seems to be 21mAH.
I using Bepe 0.66 ROM and have 75mA with 4/10 backlight, full GSM bar and nothing in background.
When I used GPS, calls and other stuff my device lived over 1 day from 100 to 4-5.
Just measured with BatteryStatus:
1. Standby (no light, power off) - 5 mA
2. Power On (light on 4/10, no BT, no WiFi, nothing) - 77 mA
3. Power On (the same but light off) - 65 mA
4. Call (full bar of GSM net) - 200-220 mA
5. GPS on (light, GPStest) - 200mA
UPDT.
On original O2 ROM I have follow result:
1. Standby (no light, power off) - 5 mA
2. Power On (light on 4/10, no BT, no WiFi, nothing) - 51-62 mA
3. Power On (the same but light off) - 33 mA
4. Call (full bar of GSM net) - 180-190 mA
4.1 Call (light off) - 163 mA
4.2 Call (light 0ff, sound) - 202 mA
4.3 Call (screen off, sound) - 140 mA
5. GPS on (light, GPStest) - 190mA
It mean, ROM from Bepe more suck battery.
UPDT2.
Test result of BlackWidow show the same result as original ROM.

has anyone come across a bepe's ROM that would have about the same battery consumption as the Black Widow?
thanks in advance lads
Well, On a fresh install, all programs going (save for spb mobile shell (tried both 2.0 and 2.1)) i was getting about 40 hours. with spb mobile shell i was gettin 11-12. that's huge. i noticed shell32.exe is constantly running-doing what, i don't know. but i see a definite battery drain.
Take notice that when you are using any HTC device with SPB Mobile 2.0 or 2.1 and you are roaming the battery drain in fast Lasts only 6 or 7 hours with very low phone use.
Hello all,
I'm using the original European rom (the first updated ROM that came out; didn't have time to install the second updated ROM )
The only program I'm running is S2U2 (slide to unlock2), the newest version.
The problem I'm experiencing is the next: The battery status from S2U2 gives a percentage of 26%, but the battery indicator from Windows Mobile (upper right corner) gives an indication of 2 Blocks (so battery more than half-full).
When I go to the settings tab, press more and have a look at the battery indicator of Windows Mobile in detailed version, I see I have only 3 green blocks left. This shows the INDICATION of S2U2 of 26% battery remaining was correct!
But the TRUE CAPACITY isnt, because:
The weirdest thing is, my battery stayed at the level of 26% remaining ALL DAY, while normally my battery goes down with about 20% a day..
The problem is situated in WM itsself I guess :s
It also isn't something that happened once, it has occurred more often...
I also shut down the phone every evening and boot it up every morning, but I never experienced any trouble with that. Even letting the battery go flat to about 3% and then a full recharge (as wel leaving the phone turned on as letting it shut down by itsself) didn't help...
Any Idea's / experience with it?
Thanks in advance,
Borai
The answer is in the information you've provided; The WM "4-bar" display shows 25% per bar. If S2U2 is showing 26%, that's over 25%, and therefore showing two bars
A small explaination:
- 4 bars = 100% - 76%
- 3 bars = 75% - 51%
- 2 bars = 50% - 26%
- 1 bar = 25% - 0%
As for the battery draining faster / slower than usual, it all depends on usage. In low signal areas the battery will drain faster as it spends more ticks trying to get a connection. Turning the screen on and off consumes battery power, using WiFi, leaving applications running in the background... Any number of causes.
Not really
At the moment I'm at 21% according to S2U2 (yes, a full day and I only used 5% battery power, not really possible I think...)
The battery indicator in the right corner still shows 2 bars... And the indicator from 'all settings' still shows 3 blocks left...
There is defenitely something strange going on, because I never really experienced this problems when the phone was brand new...
Yesterday I've notice it for the first time [1 month old device] - I plug the device on charger when it was ~60% after 1h I came back, turn screen on and notice its 'Charged' - 100%, while it still on charge I've played a little bit with the device and notice the battery is on 65%!
I looked at the GSAM battery logs [of all the battery indicator precents] and notice that it jump from 60% [when I put it on charge] stright to 100%, then it goes down under 60 [while I played with it], also weird thing - at the GSAM graph it shows that the screen was on all the 1h charging time [I can tell the screen was off!].
After reconnect to the charger it went fine [maybe it was fine right after its relized the real precents/indicator].
Anyway - today I've notice a little different thing: while it charges the battery indicator shows 93% for a while, while I'm playing with device [still on charger] then it jumps to 100%.
I looked at GSAM battery indicator history [log] and notice something strange - when the indicator went to 82 it goes up to 83 then goes down to 82, then 83 again, 84, 83, 84, 85, ....93, 100.
At this case seems like the indicator has right on the jump to 100% - I checked it and seems it decreases linearly as it should be.
Don't know why is it happening but at other early log of cherging [on gsam] I notice that other charge had something quite similar - on 81 up to 82 down to 81 up to 82 and continue regular....
- I'm on stock 4.2.2 [no root or other stuff], using only the original charger [1.2A], the battery wasn't heat at all and everything seems fine.
Does any one have any idea why is it happens or any reason for that?
I can say its the first [and second] time I notice it, so its not happens all the time.
BTW - could this behavior damage the battery [for the long term]?
Maybe this is one of the reasons for too many [people in here and outside] having problems of 'damaged' battery, because of not noticing it and keep it in charge while the indicator stuck on xx% but the battery is full (100%)...
Anyway if you are not following the battery indicator- charging/discharging history you'll never notice it.
Had this thing again - few days ago.
I put the charger and notice it jumps stright to 100% 'charged', reconnect the charger and its back charging as usual...
Anyone notice it and/or have any idea why is it happens sometimes ?
Hi guys i wonder if anyone can help. I have saw youtibe videos showing p10 plus charging with supercharge from 0-100% in about 1hr 40mins average. What are your average charging times? I think either my handset or charger is faulty. It does charge quick to 50% about 30-40mins and it slows down after that which i know is normal but as soon as it hits about 90-92% its taking 45mins plus to go to 100%. In total with supercharge my phones is taking about 2hrs 15mins + to charge from dead to 100%. With supercharge technology that cant be right. Also to point out i dont use my phone wen its charging therefore im not slowing the process down. Please help. Thanks
From my experience it takes about 90-100 minutes from almost empty to 100%.
i get it full in about 90 mins
Typically, my phone charges from 0 - 50 % in about 20 mins.. that being said.. its OFF.
when its on, add 50%. when in airplane mode, add 25%
0 - 100%
OFF: 78 mins
ON: Airplane: 102 mins
ON Data / wifi: 128 mins.
Hope that helps.
