M3100 WM5 Can I set the wallpaper to not be transparent? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have a lovely photo as my today wallpaper but it is faded out so much it's spoilt. Is there a way I can make it display without any transparency. I have searched these forums and gone through all the option I could find on the phone and didn't find anything.
Thanks

Trying viewing the photo through pictures & Videos in start menu programs. Then choose photo and go to menu, you will see set as today background, then you can adjust transparency!
Hope this helps

Great, thank you. I would never have found that. GF is looking good on the phone now.
Thanks again.

How about is it possible to make the start menu background opaque so that I can actually read what is in the start menu??
I would rather use a registry setting than a tweak tool, thanks.

Today Background Not Working

I just uninstalled cLaunch, a couple of Zombienexus themes and dialer skins, iContacts and Slide2Unlock. (Gonna reinstall and start fresh)
I'm pretty sure that it has nothing to do with it but as I am choosing a wallpaper/BG from Settings>Today >"Use this picture as the background"; It is no longer giving me a preview of the wallpaper with the slider for the opacity.
Did I delete it?
Does anybody know what I can do to fix this as all my backgrounds are washed out.
Thanks.
Anyone have anything on this? I'm having a similar problem. I tried to install HTC Home on mine and it locked it up. Had to do a hard-reset, then reinstalled the WM 6.1 ROM and it still doesn't give me the slider or the preview.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This was the first thread to pop up in a Google search of the site. After some further investigation, let me answer my own question...
Hi guys,
When I put a picture as the today's wallpaper, the picture is lighter than normal.
Is there anyway to fix it and get the real picture colors ?
Thx

If you set the image under settings/today, thats what you will get. For some reason it uses a transparency value (nowhere to change this here).
The best and easiest solution I have found, is to open the Camera, and view the Album. Browse to the image you want, click it and keep it pressed so that the context menu comes up, select "Set as Today Background...". This will show you the image, and allow you to set the transparency level. Set it to zero, and the image in the Today Background will look exactly as it should.

Background Transparency!

HELP! i've searched the internet and back and haven't found an answer... Is there only a certain image format which can be made transparent? if so what is it?... also i've tried setting an image as background though file explorer... the image is set, but you can hardly see the image, plus it tiles the image. I've also tried through the today plug in where you browse, but the same thing happens no option for transparency. This is my second Xperia, due to a fault in my last and i remember have a transparency option on a few select images on the device. please help i've been trying to fix this for ages!

Joel

Backgroundimages are not displayed like they should be...

Hey everyone,
I downloaded some of the nice background images from the thread that´s round here.
When I use them in the TFlo3d panel they look like they are supposed to.
But in the "normal" panel where I´ve some SPB stuff installed which I use quite regularly, the pics are all looking wierd "whiteish" like they´re behind milk.
Any advice?
Thank you all.
don't set the background from settings.... Go to the place where you stored these images, and open the one which you want to put as a background. now in the options you will have 'Set as Background'. Click on that, it will take you to a page where you can set the transparency value.. Set that to 0.
Worked like a charm. Thanks!

Turning Off Start Menu Transparency

I have WM 6.1 and have recently changed my background to something that has some white in it. Now because of this and the fact that the start menu is transparent I can't read some of the text in the menu.
Before anyone suggests it, yes I'm aware of how to change the text color using the registry. I am not interested in doing this, I tried it and didn't really like it.
I am looking to do one of two things:
1. Remove the transparency.
2. Add a thin black stroke to make it readable.
Any suggestion that works is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Does anyone have any knowledge of what I can do here? This is really pretty obnoxious and I don't know how to fix it.

Actually, the start menu is not transparent, but rather it uses a piece of the picture in your background to make it look as if it was transparent. Changing system fonts might solve your issue. There are a few programs that will allow you to do that in Dev&Hacking. Also, I believe that mrMakk has a tutorial on how to do this.
Alternatively, you can try to change the menu picture by using something like Theme Creator v2 or Theme Generator v2 (I can't remember the correct name for the program).
Thanks man, I'll give the theme generator a try when I get home.
Theme generator only works on 2002. The themes it generates could not be applied to WinMo 6.1...
Anyone got another suggestion? Surely there is a way to change the start menu picture in WinMo 6.1...
When I select a picture and set it as a Today Background, it brings up a screen so that I could select a Transparency Level.

He is asking about the transparency of the Start Menu isn't he? When you click on Start it drops down a menu correct?
On my phone, when I go to save a picture as my wallpaper, I am able to change the transparency of the Start menu. I'm not saying that's the only way, that's the only way I know and it worked for me.
If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Default background with no shadows?

Hey guys,
the other day I noticed that the Touch2 default background has a shadow on the top of it - I removed the top bar from my touchflo and now it's annoying me.
The default background that displays before Touchflo loads doesn't have this shadow, though, and neither does the lock screen when set to default.
I've searched the forums but couldn't find it - does anybody know the location of the default background as it is before touchflo loads over the top?
Cheers
Jennan
Hello Jennan, agree with you that the schadow does not look nice for the reason you mention....when trying both today screen and lockscreen the shadow remains....however with lockscreen it seems that the wallpaper is "shifted upwards" so less shadow visible....see also picture here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578168
No idea how that is done.......
thanks frank, you're always helping me out. appreciate it
Frank, I think I found the answer
I disabled touchflo and took a screenshot with Ilium Screen Capture. I then edited that image slightly to stretch it where the top and bottom bars are - it's not perfect, but given that those areas are normally covered, it's as close as we're going to get.
Image is free to use for everyone, no credit needed.
Nice work.....!
Checked my "reservoir" and found this theme from Hero.....not the same but perhaps you like aswell.....
Cheers Frank, thanks for that
By the way I am using yours right now......
