What can be used to remind about voice note? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
I like the feature of just leaving yourself a voice reminder to do something. It's much more convenient just press button and say something then open calendar and do the whole thing ordinary way.
The biggest issue if that afer I leve a voice note for myself there is no way to be reminded that I left it for myself. Is there any way to create automatically a calendar even or reminder if there any voice notes left?

Automated Call Handling / Answering Machine Software

Hi there,
I'm looking for some software that would automatically answer the phone, play a pre-recorded message, then give the option to be put through to me or leave a voicemail immediately (press 1 to talk directly, press 2 to leave a voicemail....etc...).
Another good feature would be to divert certain groups of contacts to voicemail / pre-recorded message at certain times - i.e. business contacts 6pm-9am, personal contacts 9am-6pm...etc...
Are there any decent 'call handling' apps you can recommend?

Similar, but I'd like to encourage people to leave voicemails first, rather than call me directly unless absolutely necessary. i.e giving them the option of leaving a voicemail first, then holding if they really need to talk one-to-one.
I get a lot of calls and it can be difficult to answer them when you're in the middle of a piece of work. I think it'd cut down the amount of direct calls I get, and I can set some time aside for dealing with the non-urgent calls, which will mean clients get a more thorough response to their query.
I've found some software called iSecretary, which seems to be worth a look into.
AFAIK it doesnt exist. I (vaguely) remember reading somewhere that phone hardware is specifically made to not be able to do this as it would deprive the telcos their voicemail revenue. I think isecretary uses the speakerphone and records the output with the mic, meaning you get a very soft, low quality recording... plus it wouldnt be the most practical option if you are in meetings

Good Voice to Text Programs?

Is there anything on the Market that offers really good Voice to Text, for say, AOL Instant Messenger or texting?
I find the one that I'm using now (have no idea what it is, it may have been defaulted on the device) for AOL Instant Messenger is pathetic. I have to hit the "mic" button, then when I speak, it only allows a short sentence, regardless of whether it's still recording. Then when it processes it, I find half of what I said isn't on the message when it processes it. Then I have to press the "send" button physically.
I'm looking for something I can just control with my voice, instead of having to physically press buttons on the phone. Then I was hoping I could find something that included voice correction as well.
Also, is there any program that allows voice control over other areas of the phone, such as "Play Music Track xxxx" or not?
Anything I can do to resolve this?

Contacts/Phone app

Hi guys, I've just moved over from iphone so still finding my feet with android.
For the most part android is far superior but the contact side of things is still bugging me. This is what I want to be able to do:
1. Have my call log as calls only, not texts. I know you can change this to view calls received, dialled etc, but it soons defaults back and shows everything. I just want my log to have dialled and received and nothing else? I'm sure i've read somewhere on the net that this was possible on the SGS through a hack??
2. I want to set up a favourites list of say best mate, gf, work etc and just be able to press their name and it dials there number, not opens another window that shows history, text option, dial option video call option, i.e. just direct dial. I also would like this to be the first screen that opens when I press my phone icon on the dock??
I've set my gf up on my desktop as a direct dial shortcut, but I don't want to be doing that for everyone. I've got a load of contacts but maybe only dial 10 at most on a regular basis.
are there any hacks or thrid party dialers that do this??
Cheers

I can help you with #2. Just swipe right on your favorite and you call that favorite immediately. Swipe left to immediately send a message.

hmmm, can't say i can see a way around No.1, other than using a new dialer/contacts app such as Go Contacts or Dialer One etc..
must say, i actually quite like the comprehensive log, coming from Sense and Stock roms with calls only, i like having it all in one place...
Dialer One would be my choice, but only as i used it on CM7 on my Hero for its smart dial feature... can't comment on Go Contacts
hope this helps
Dickie
I use loads off texts a day so within 10 mins of dialling someone their details are long gone
I'll check out Go Contacts and Dialer One though, thanks for the recommendations
This is a Samsung thing, regular android does not put texts with the call log. I don't think I'd like them to be combined like that.
it is the right thing to do

I like them combined. There again, there could be an option to control it.
Go Contacts is just the ticket
Thanks guys, much better now

Bluetooth voice dialing

Is everybody else's bluetooth voice dialing just god awful?
S voice is crap, so it's frozen. Google's Bluetooth dialer is just the worst thing I've ever seen. Has anybody found out how to get Bluetooth dialing working properly?
Why in the world can't they just make Bluetooth launch voice search?

Old thread, but I'll revive it because I want to talk about the same subject. I agree with the OP, and I'm surprised how badly Android/Samsung handles blutetooth voice dialing. (My last phone was an iPhone 3GS, and voice dialing worked great from day 1 back with iOS 3 or 4, whatever it originally came with.)
I frequently use bluetooth voice dialing in my car, either from a headset or speaker phone. This is a must-have feature for me.
Svoice is completely unacceptable because it requires the phone to be unlocked. If you have to mess with the phone to unlock it, then that defeats the purpose of voice dialing. I do understand that Svoice can do other things besides voice dialing, things which should be restricted by the lock screen. What I don't understand is why they don't give the users the options to enable selected features such as voice dialing while the phone is locked. But they don't, so Svoice had to go.
With Svoice uninstalled or disabled, Google Search takes over the voice dialing duties. It works ok, or at least it used to with Google Search v2.x. One thing about it that I don't like is that it wakes the phone (activates the screen) when you initiate voice dialing, so you can end up with accidental screen touches while voice dialing (if you don't have a pass code, or if it hasn't timed out yet). The screen should remain locked.
In recent versions of Google Search (starting in v3.x?), they decided to make voice dialing worse! If a person has multiple numbers, you can not directly select one, you have to wade through a stupid menu every time.
Say for example I have a contact named Tim Brown who has 3 numbers: home, work, mobile
With Google Search 2.x, you can do this:
Me: Call Jim Brown Home (or I can even just say "Call Jim Home" if I only have one Jim in my contacts)
Phone: Do you want to call Jim Brown at home? Say OK or Cancel.
Me: Ok
Phone: dials
With Google Search 3.x it ignores the location and always presents a menu:
Me: Call Jim Brown Home (the word "Home" is ignored)
Phone: Say Select 1 for Jim Brown Home, Say Select 2 for Jim Brown Work, Say Select 3 for Jim Brown Mobile, or say Cancel
Me: (If I can remember which freaking number was Home) Select 1
Phone: Do you want to call Jim Brown at home? Say OK or cancel
Me: (Yes I do, you stupid phone, I just told you so!) OK
Phone: dials
What a pain in the butt that is. Ironically, if you open Google Search by launching the app (i.e. by interacting with the screen), then it will listen to the "Home" part. It just ignores it if you are voice dialing, which is where you really need it. Does anybody from Google actually use this stuff?
My solution is this. Since my phone is rooted, I have the option of uninstalling Google Search v3.x, find v2.8 on the Internet, and install it on my phone. Then be sure to ignore any updates in the Play store. This works good enough. I can select a specific number when voice dialing, and I can voice dial while the phone is locked. It still turns on the phone screen when I voice dial, but I can live with that.
Note that I don't use Google Now, so I don't care about any new features that are included in the newer versions of Google Search. If you do use Google Now, this solution may not be acceptable to you.
If anyone else has a better solution, please share it.
Thanks
I tried using the Bluetooth Launch app to activate google voice search instead of the voice dialer, but that didn't work while the screen was locked. So for now, I'm sticking with the solution mentioned above (i.e. using google search v2.8).

[Q] S voice starting on its own

Anyone having this issue where s voice is randomly turning itself on when you are having a conversation with someone? It doesn't matter if it's in my pocket or not, it just happens. Even more annoying is you can't change the activation command to something less nerdy and obvious. Do you guys turn off the activate when screen is on option?
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk 4
another issue i have is if i tell s voice to "call marcos pizza" it only looks in my contacts. If I use google voice search, it looks it up and calls. Lame!
So, is that just how it is, s voice not as powerful? I'd really like to use the screen off wake up feature that s voice provides, but not if it sucks like this.

I guess another solution is to keep the "hi galaxy" screen off wake up for when I need it and just use the double tap for regular google voice for most functions
Hi galaxy
open google search
lol
