HTC Home Plugin for WM5 (3 and 6 tab).. finally !!

6 Tab HTC Home Plugin for Windows Mobile 5. Tried and working well on O2 Neo (HTC Prophet).
To install this app on your prophet, unzip the HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.zip on your pc, copy the cab files onto your device and -
1. Run the SDK_Cert.cab on your device.
2. Run the HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.cab on your device.
3. Reset your prophet and enjoy the app.
3 tab HTC Home Plugin for Windows Mobile 5. I have tried and it works on my O2 Neo.
To install this app on your prophet, unzip the HTCHomeWM5.zip on your pc and -
1. Copy the cab files onto your device.
2. Run the HTC Home Plug Today Plugin.cab on device (Not Storage Card).
3. Run the SDK Test Certs.cab on device.
4. Copy HtcHome.dll and HTCHome.dll.0409.mui files from the PPC Phone folder to the /windows folder on device.
Use Activesync to copy these two files since they might not be visible in your device File Explorer.
5. Restart your Prophet.

- Rename the following files in /windows folder on device
1. HTC HDlg.exe.0409.mui to HTC HDlg.exe.xxxx.mui where xxxx is your international language code
2. HTCHome.dll.0409.mui to HTCHome.dll.xxxx.mui where xxxx is your internatinal language code
* The value for xxxx can also be found in the attached txt file (ROMlang.txt) extracted from the above link.

Is this something comletely different as the HTC Audiomanager? I tried that one some time ago. Can I build the AudioM in this one?

I've installed the plugin too. I also take some screenshots.
I don't know yet I'll like it... I will see next week.
I've put also the situation of my Today-screen before installing the plugin. Yes, I llike it simple and basic.

I know there is a 6 tab version of the Home Plugin available as well where one of the tabs runs the HTC audiomanager. I have not been able to install it on my Neo, though.

Runs great on my wizard.
only one problem: The weather can't update its data from GPRS, only from WIFI. Anyone encountered that issue?

I was looking for a solution for the 6 tap version, here it is! umesh you 're good!
In version 6-tab there are more city's to choose than in the 3-tab version.
Two things to notice:
At Favorite People, if you don't have a picture of the person/company. It gives the first name.
The Music Player is just a shortcut to Windows Mediaplayer. It's a shame that the Music Player isn't a stand alone player. As you can see at my Homescreen, I use a SPB player. This plugin uses a less memory then the Windows Media Player.

Yes, I've the same problem...
For the people who love pictures, here we go!

Itried it a lot of times to install it but nothing happens.I copy the files to my device, the run the two cab files, restart the device but there's no plugin. It just reserves the space to my today screen but i just can't see it.Any solutions?

It's a beautiful plug-in, but I will uninstall it. The plugin uses resources very much and everything is to reach double now (START). Standalone at startup my memory is 6 MB less!
Plugin eats resources
Sound-tab: this is at less than 1 cm to reach upper row
Favorite Contacts tab: this are shortcuts to the first tel.nr.
In speeddail you can choose your favorite nr of the person.
Music-tab: is just a shortcut to WMP, this eats resources. I use the Spb pugin. It don't startup WMP, but use the music list and setings.

You might want to just try
1. a neat uninstall first of any older copies of unsuccessful installation attempts.
2. Restarting your device.
3. Then try to install again following the steps as mentioned earlier. Make sure you install both the cabs to your device and not storage card if it asks you for that.
As a double check, you might want to check post installation that a bunch of HH_***.png etc. files are installed into the /windows folder of your device and it does not create any HTC Home folder in your device. If so, move all the files under HTC Home folder into the /windows folder and restart.

its not just shortcut to wmplayer its its own player, i can play songs on wmplayer and on that applications seperatly
at least not on mine it aint is say htc audio manager playes the misic its self (er.. i'm on pdaviet 4.0.0.6)

You can have the HTC AudioM triggered by the audio tab in the 6 tab HTC modem by modifying the registry HKLM/Software/HTC/Music Plug-in/MusicPlayer to 2 for HTC AM. 1 is for WMP.
Have not tried this since couldn't get the HTC AM to work with my WM5. Let us know if this works for you.

Did anyone get the HTC Audio Manager working on WM5? I got the cab from the link below, but it just doesn't work. I get the 'trusted certificate' message when I try to run it. Please help!

I have the same problem and unfortunately no solution as yet. I did research on the net but to no luck. If any one has resolved this, please share.

I've uninstalled 3 times and checked files in windows folder, but nothing is displayed in the today's screen .... HELP. I've a WM5 prophet French version, as a guy installed it with other than a WME version (english) ?

This message just to report that 6tab version works perfectly on my Artemis (WM5 Italian - TIM). Just remember to rename MUI files on \Windows to match your country before soft reset the PDA (from HTC HDlg.exe.0409.mui to HTC HDlg.exe.0410.mui AND from HTCHome.dll.0409.mui to HTCHome.dll.0410.mui, since 0410 is the country code for Italy).
I also confirm that registry hack to use HTC AudioManager works (remember to rename mui files!)

You are welcome, Matin.
The difference between the two attachments is that one of them shows 3 tabs for the HTC Home Plugin i.e. Time, Weather & Application Launcher.
The other is a 6 tab version where there are shortcuts on HTC Home Plugin for Time, Weather, Photo Touch dial, application Launcher, Profile switcher and Music.
I personally liked the 6tab version and am using that at present.

A variant of notiweather_wallpaper by superflysocal
So first I want to say tanks you to superflysocal to give me the idea of this release and allow me to use the wallpapers he use for his application.
When I saw is application I wanted to do the same with HTC Home Weather without using S2U2.
So my application read the HTC Home Weather and change the background wallpaper today according with the last weather update.
It's made when you power on your PDA if the weather have change since the last time you powered on.
Maybe if someone wants it I can make a timer to to this too.
This application will change both your landscape and portrait background.
I use the portrait jpg from superflysocal post and modify him landscape to put them in 320*240 so you could replace them by what you want.
It using MortScript and you're not obliged to install MortScript, because my cab include the MortScript.exe and exe files to launch scripts.
What do you need ?
A PDA with WM... Working on WM6.1, don't know on others.
A HTC Home, don't know issues about the version, working on the HTC HomePlug 2.1.1005.722
There are 3 scripts :
* Start.exe
This one save your current backgrounds (landcape and portrait), write into registry to be clean with the Settings/Personnal/Today "Use this picture as the background", so you can see if my application is running and write and Run On Power On event.
* HHW2BGD.exe (linked as Refresh)
This one is the application core, so it read the weather registry and if it see differences since last launch (written in registry as key_old) it search the good jpg and make it as background (landscape and portrait) and lauch a refresh screen (for now I'm using a exe which make it because the command doesn't want to work good in MortScript language...help !!!). This exe was extract from the cab found here but I don't know who make it ??? Thanks for him, very great exe.
* Stop.exe
This last one is used to end up this application, it stop the Run On Power On event, eventually kill the script if running, replace the original background and delete the registry entries made.
What will be install ?
* \Program Files\toniolol\HHW2BGD\
It contain the 3 scripts and 5 exe (3 for the script, 1 for MortScript and 1 for the refresh).
* \Program Files\toniolol\HHW2BGD\BackGrounds\
It contain 3 directory : one for your backup background, one for the landscape and one for the portrait.
* Start/Programs/Weather/
It contain 3 links to Start/Stop/Refresh the application
This application is a beta and so use at your own risk.
Just remember : before uninstall it use the STOP.EXE in the Start/Programs/Weather menu.
If you forgot, the Run On Power On event will stay so you have to destroy him using an software like "check Notifications" or launching the Stop script again : you'll find it with the cab at the end of this post.

This is the first release.
It change the background landscape and portrait when your Power On your PDA and when HTC Home Weather have changed.
Working on :
Tested on TRINITY with FInixNOver 3.2 and 3.3, WM6.1, HTC Home dll v2.1.1005.722 and v2.0.1025.721.

Script the TodayRefreshCmd.exe.
Force to update the weather.
Bugs :
I think this application will only works on PDA with 320*240 and 240*320 resolution. maybe it's possible to have configuration files for others.

It's strange, I thought that it was no necessary to have mortscript if the exe is in the directory and the autoexec.exe rename in ScriptName.exe.
I'm sorry, I must make a hard reset to test but I thount I never install mortScript on my PDA.
Some others people had this problem ?

Ok, so it stopped when you want to refresh the weather in your HTC Home.
Very strange, I don't touch this component, only read the registry and write old values read in new keys....
When my software is off it never happened ?

It's on the "HTCHome.dll" located in the "\Windows" directory.
To have it I had to copy this file on my computer and right-click on it after.

I'm testing it on the new FInixNOver 3.3, and it works good.
The HTC Home dll is sign : 2.0.1025.721.
I'm thinking to make a special script with debuging create file is someone who have problem want to test it.

Downgrading ROM

I'm not sure if anyone else would like to do this, so it might have to be a personal favor for me
I'm pretty new to all these ROM issues, been using my Polaris since 2008, but didnt fool around with it much until recently HTC released their official wm6.1 ROMs so I decided to check it out.
However there are a few issues with the phone now
1. I cannot install Thai language onto the phone so I cannot read SMS that are in Thai. (if anyone has the cab/exe file for me it would be great) the last time I installed the phone resets after installation and never came back on again, and so I had to HardReset again
2. I backed up my SMS and they used to come up as individual SMS everytime I restored them, but after I upgrade to 6.1 it becomes threaded, which is a bit inconvenient.
But as of today, I found some problem with the touch keyboard, so I decided to Hard Reset once more, now I see 260 SMS while scrolling, but I can only see the ones on my SIMcard when I stop scrolling, so I was wondering if I could downgrade the ROM back to 6.0 (the original one)

now I also want to try the various new ROMs that are being released, and I wanted to know if I could change it in any order, or I can only upgrade from a lower (older) version to a higher (newer) version.
now I read something about HardSPL, I downloaded the zip file but there wasn't any instruction inside so I'm not sure how it works
The warranty is over so I'm willing to risk weird stunts as long as I dont crash the phone all together.
so in summary, I need
1. to know if I can downgrade the ROM to the original one
2. to know how to get the HardSPL to work (and do I really need it)
3. Thai language support
4. non-threaded SMS
5. if there is anything cool you people would like to recommend go ahead

Ok I tried installing the HardSPL and I think something went wrong
I was told to replug the USB which I did, but the phone pretty much went unresponsive, I waited for 30 minutes but nothing happened, so I Exited the program and restarted my phone.
Nothing seemed to have changed with the phone, I mean, it works the same old way it used to.
but when I pressed the camera and hit reset, to go to the tricolor screen.
the SPL changed from 1.xxxx to 3.13 something like that
but the tutorial said it has to go to SPL-2.20.Olinex
now I'm pretty confused
Edit: I also have a program called JumpSPL which cannot be runned
Edit2: ok I retired and successfully got the HardSPL done
however I face a problem related to the SMS now
I originally backed up my SMS, and until recently when I restored everything use to come back, but now I get only the sent SMS and the Drafts back, the inbox still shows a total of 260 SMS but I can only see the ones that are on my SIM card, fortunately I have another PIM backup which I used another program to back up my stuff back in November 2009, but I got some important SMS sent and received during December and January
I don't really mind sending people my dbk (backup file) if they need to check if the file works, because I kept backing up on top of the previous file, I have only 1 back up file which has everything till 28th Feb 2010 but the SMS dont come in

1. I used some weird program to backup before I upgraded to the win6.1 ROM which I got from the HTC
all the SMS came up properly, there was no problem at all
Then I went to install my old Thai language support, and the phone froze
So I HardReset the phone again and restored the backup again
all the SMS came up Properly, there was no problem at all
then after a few days I noticed that the touch keyboard (the cool looking one) wasn't working properly, so I did another backup (which replaced the previous backup file) and HardReset once more
then when I restored, nothing came up in the inbox other than the SMS that were stored on the SIM, however when I roll the whell over the SMS it said selected 1/260 items, but all I see are the 7 SMS on the SIM and not the other 260 that are supposed to be on the phone.
2. Not many people use windows mobile, all iphone and bb lovers around me
3. HardReset many times, never flashed any new rom.
then I found another back up file, which was backed up back in november 2009, I restored that one, but I still have 3 months worth of SMS missing from there
I did try this stunt anyhow, I restored the file with all the 'unseeable' SMS and then restored the november back up on top of that, so I have all SMS [sent and received] till november + all sms [sent only] till feb 28th, but the received sms [from nov to feb] is still missing
I did get Tom's sms app, but i cannot run it, I got some error
and I'm willing to try Flashing a ROM, so just recommend me something, I'm not really choosy at the moment.

So I HardReset the phone again and restored the backup again
all the SMS came up Properly, there was no problem at all
then after a few days I noticed that the touch keyboard (the cool looking one) wasn't working properly, so I did another backup (which replaced the previous backup file) and HardReset once more
then when I restored, nothing came up in the inbox other than the SMS that were stored on the SIM, however when I roll the whell over the SMS it said selected 1/260 items, but all I see are the 7 SMS on the SIM and not the other 260 that are supposed to be on the phone.

then I found another back up file, which was backed up back in november 2009, I restored that one, but I still have 3 months worth of SMS missing from there
I did try this stunt anyhow, I restored the file with all the 'unseeable' SMS and then restored the november back up on top of that, so I have all SMS [sent and received] till november + all sms [sent only] till feb 28th, but the received sms [from nov to feb] is still missing
I did get Tom's sms app, but i cannot run it, I got some error
and I'm willing to try Flashing a ROM, so just recommend me something, I'm not really choosy at the moment.

2. yes...i know this...but with wm 6.5 update i have 2 friends convince for a htc (sorry for the english)
but it´s a problem of all people with IPhone and so on...the phone is good but compared with newer or even a wm 6.5 phone it´s not the best...but much people think it´s the best...

1. first original rom and hard reset (hold the two left and right buttons on the bottom + stylus reset) if you see the calibration screen
2. rom of your choice.. also with hard reset
3. radio (soft reset comes automatic)....not a must have....but if you have little freeze

Ok will try flashing one of your ROMs, since I messed up my device again by installing the Thai language support. I used to be able to use the one designed for WM2003SE but they won't let the device boot anymore

All rom´s here in XDA Devs are good...so you must try to have the "Personal view"....you know that i mean..??
On my rom thread is a full and a lite rom....if you want more space try the lite rom

Step 1: Extract the Kitchen
Extract file "[KITCHEN] - LEON_WWE_2.1.rar" in "c:\"
Step 2: Starting up
Once you've extracted the file, you can start the kitchen by launching "osKitchen.exe"
Click on the button "Open Project" and select the type of ROM you want to use as a Base. You can choose between LEON WWE and LEON LITE WWE Once you have loaded up your kitchen, you have the same setup I used for the release of my LEON ROMS.

Step 3: Customization
Once you've loaded a stock ROM, you can customize it to your own needs. You can exclude packages, add new packages, or edit some of the app.reg files to tweak it even more.
Keep in mind however that some packages are required for some core functions of the ROM and/or HTC Sense. (Ex: OEMBASE)
Step 4: Build the ROM and Flash
Once you're ready, just go ahead and press the "Start Cooking" button, this will take a while so go take a walk or something...
When the process is finish you will get a file called "ruu_signed_0409.nbh" in the folder "Flash"
This file is your ROM, it's built and now ready to be flash, this can be done in 2 ways:
- via PC: you can flash it by running "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
- via Storage Card: rename the file from "ruu_signed_0409.nbh" to "LEOIMG.nbh" and copy it to your device to flash it from the Bootloader.

In TAB Tweaks on the Kitchen, press button "Selection" in "Radio cook-in" and then browse to "C:\[KITCHEN] - LEON_WWE_2.1\Sources\Other\Radio" and choose one of the RADIO ROM included...

Thanks for your kitchen. The only thing I am missing are the sense language files. Could you include them in your next kitchen so that I can change my sense interface in dutch.

I gave multiple tries to cook a rom, but no avail. Though, this is the first time I am trying to cook a rom for HD2, I had cooked many times for my previous devices. Cooking gets completed smoothly and even the flashing is successful, but after flashing when the device gets booted, the home screen would just not load. I can do everything else like invoking start menu or dial or whatever, but when I click on Home, the last application screen remains, and home will not load. Looks like a problem with HTC Sense? I will detail what I actully did below.
What I was trying to do was, removing three of the packages from the kitchen. So, after loading LEON_WWE.fe project, I unchecked the following EXT packages:-
1) YouTube_2_6.....
2) Opera_Browser_9_70...
3) GoogleMaps_4_1_0_....
That's it. Now when I go ahead with cooking, everything goes smooth and the process gets completed. Now, after that, I do a Task29 and flash the new cooked rom. Everything is smooth till that point except that, as I mentioned above, the home screen would not load. Please note that other than the above 3 changes, I didn't do anything else, before clicking the button "Start cooking". I tried multiple times, but couldn't solve the issue. After flashing, even I tried a hardreset, but that didn't help either.
Kindly advise. Sorry, if the post is a bit lengthy. I thought, I would explain everything.

Yes, it's all selected. Though, under "05 - HTCSense_2_5_20121412_1_ENGINE", four eReader related options are unchecked (which was by default). And in "07 - HTCSense_2_5_X_TWEAKS", everything is selected except "HTCSense_Remove_eReader_Stock" and "HTCSense_Change_LSK_CallHistory".
And HTCSense is selected under "Start"==>"Settings"==>"Today".
It's not that Homescreen showing empty, like when we try to uncheck the option under Today settings ("Start"==>"Settings"==>"Today"). Even the homescreen backgroud is not visible there and the screen stays with whichever last application I had opened. For example, after flashing normally the "Connection Setup" screen comes. So, when I click on the Done button there, the "Connection Setup" doesn't go away, it just stays there. After that when I click on Start, the start menu comes without any failure. But, now when I click on Home button, nothing happens, and start menu stays there. It's as if it is stuck at there, but all the applications runs, after that.

I used osKitchen Zero v1.32Alpha7 and dumped the 2.13 OEM ROM myself so I got exactly what I wanted to start with.​
I've created a Bunch of Packages myself, again, to get what I wanted. A few of the packages I've only modified to get them to work the way I want. The Folder Icon's are my work.​
I tried to keep it similar to OEM, but changed a few things to make it mine.​
I am ill, so I will not always be available to answer questions, but I will do my best. I do this to keep my mind on other things while I deal with my illness, be patient with me if you can. I am doing this in my spare time, so don't expect miracles. ​
Before Flashing, PLEASE backup your Data, and make sure you have Hard SPL 3 on your Phone.
Use This Tool from 'doloop' to complete a Task 29 on your phone. This will Format the ROM Space and clear any previous ROM code from your phone so you get a Clean Flash and less chance of errors on the new ROM. Simply connect your phone to your PC with the USB. Unzip the attachment and run the Exe file inside. When the Flashing reaches 95%, PRESS and HOLD the Volume Down button until it reboots and enters bootloader mode. Now you are ready to flash this ROM.
I will post the Self Extracting Kitchen, an RUU_Signed_0409.nbh, and an AutoFlash file.
What is AutoFlash you ask? I've taken the RUU file, added the Flashing Program, and Packaged it all up into an Auto Executing Auto Flashing Program, and, it's a smaller download than the RUU alone. Pretty cool huh? Yes, others have already done this, but I'm going to make it a standard practice from now on.

Run the AutoFlash file, or Flash using the Standard Flashing Program included in the Kitchen.

is this rom working? i used HSPL and i got it to 2.80 or something HSPL .... i installed rom and everything got stuck on Stick together screen :/ then had to get it back to stock rom.... what should i do?

I've flashed it around 30 times now during testing, and so far, it's fine for me.
You should see 'SPL-2.08.HSPL' on the Boot Loader Screen. Also, keep in mind this ROM is for the T-Mobile USA HD2. I am not sure if it runs on the International versions.
If you have that, then you should use the Task29 file in the first post. Remember to hold down the Volume Down button around 95% and keep holding it till the phone reboots into bootloader again. Then flash the ROM.
I have not flashed from the uploaded files yet as I'm still trying to get them all uploaded. MediaFire was having trouble last night, so possibly a file got corrupted? I'll be testing them shortly. Files are now Confirmed Working.

When you are flashing the TASK29 file. When it reaches 95% Completion, hold the Volume Down button until it Reboots into BootLoader Screen. (Red, Green, Blue Screen) When flashing Task29, NOT when flashing the ROM.
After rebooting into BootLoader, it should be ready to flash the ROM.
Has anybody else flashed this yet? Any additonal input so I know if I have a corrupt upload?
EDIT: I'm downloading it now and test flashing it to verify.

No i mean cause i got a big Black Screen and in middle of it says HTC Big Fonts... below it loading crap... 95% and then i press them on that screen till i get 3 color one? hmm think i got it tell me if it works ... doing a raid in World of Warcraft atm

I just downloaded the Self Extracting RUU file and flashed it. It worked fine. Keep in mind that the First Boot took 1 1/2 minutes to finish. Be patient...

I just downloaded the Kitchen, and it extracted fine.
All seem to be working fine. Please let me know if you get different results.

you know the first time u use the tool u have a put a link in here? it goes to 95% almost instantly i use Volume down and Red buton.... nothing happens and now i am again stuck on Stick together

When using the Task29 tool, it will go to 95% almost instantly. That is normal. ONLY hold the VOLUME DOWN button at 95% and continue to hold it until the phone reboots into BootLoader. THEN flash the actual ROM.
It sounds like you sucessfully flashed Task29. If you are still on the Stick Together screen, open the back of your phone and hold down the Volume Down Button while pressing the Reset Button. This will put you into BootLoader mode so you can flash the ROM.
When you flash the actual ROM, it will take a few minutes, like other ROMs.

No. Holding down the Volume Down button is only for the Task29 step. Flashing the ROM is like normally done with other ROMs.
If you want to try the AutoFlash version, just download the files. Connect your phone to your PC via USB. Run the AutoFlash file and follow the directions.

Ok,i got it working yeeeeeeeeeh! but aswell Windows Live not working aswell youtube program since i dont have my country but i will remove it somehow and replace with older or newer version.... other works very good thanks.... Cheers had some problems during installin first few times but now it's just great cheers!... if u have solutions for this youtube and windows live since i cant set up my mail and i am a bussinesman )) woulkd be good

Are you able to run those programs on Other ROMs?

ah well i didnt have this version of yoitube either windows live.... but ye worked fine back there....both of them.... it could be just the program it self...not rom... tell me if u find solution... sorry for mistakes atm from phone

So do you maybe got a link to download the Youtube and Windows Live Application from T-Mobile Stock Rom? Cause that's the two of apps i most use,other then that everything works fine...
