Error after downgrading to 2003 - HTC Typhoon

I need some help, as I'm not clear as to the next step. I bought a SMT5600 phone with WM2005 installed which never worked properly. I downgraded this unlocked phone to WM2003SE. All worked fine except -
The rocker bar/pointer no longer works so many features are unavailable.
The screens are all in German, and as the pointer doesn't work, I can't change it to English.
Does anyone know how to refresh the 2003 image to the correct version, so the pointer works again? I tried to reflash, but the phone didn't want to cooperate.
I got the universal image here - http://www.spv-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=422
Thanks,

SX56 upgrade nightmare - help still needed

Okay, newbie upgrader here.
I've read a bunch in these forums, and it's been very helpful.
I upgraded my personal PPCPE (TMO) using their software, and it works great.
I was round my friend's house last night, and he has a PPCPE (AT&T).
Well, we downloaded the v30.09 firmware from Siemens website.
We backed up all the data.
We intalled the firmware.
At the end of the firmeware update, it said to turn the device off by using the hard reset button (that you have to unsccrew the stylus for.) and leave it off for a minute.
We did this.
It then said to turn it back on using the same reset button.
We did this.
However, we get the "Designed for Windows Mobile" logo, and the AT&T logo.
We get ROM versions:
G1.3.3
RA.33.02
A.30.09
After that nothing.
Having hastily given him my phone, I came home with his broken phone.
Well, having done a LOT of reading on this site, I got to use Jeff's tools to create a bootimage on an SD card, and I have been able to get the image flashed and loaded.
They device now boots.
However, I want to get the AT&T software on there as this is what's gonna make my buddy the most happy.
The image I have on there right now is SERv12.
Can somebody PLEASE tell me the best way to get this back to AT&T software running WM2003.
Thanks.
Okay, more info.
I have been successfully upgrading the ROM using the SD flash method.
I have been using Jeff's XDAtools to create the images.
I have been downloading ROM's from yorc and xdaweblink.
I have always tried versions without any software added to the ROM.
I have tried every version of 30.09 that I could get my hands on, even the one in the "SX56 upgrade utility" folder that the Siemens site created.
None have worked.
I have tried 4.00.05 ENG from yorc - didn't work (cool southpark screen though.)
I have tried 4.01.16 ENG from weblink - didn't work (Tmo verison)
I have tried 4.01.00 ENG beta from weblink - didn't work (Tmo beta version.)
I have tried A.30.07 ENG beta from weblink - didn't work (AT&T NFR version.)
I have tried 3.17.03 ENG O2-Euro from yorc -
When I say that the version don't work; here's what I mean.
I get the logo screen.
I get the three ROM versions in the bottom right.
The system then locks up and does not progress any further.
I have left the system on overnight with no difference.
The backlight comes on, but nothing else works.
I have tried the upgrades with and without a SIM card in place.
The phone was originally locked, but has subsequently been unlocked.
I have finally tried going back to A.20.17 from yorc - the original AT&T WM2002 version.
This version at least runs.
I still have the new radio stack running, but I am back to WM2002.
Does anyone have ANY idea how I might get this upgraded to WM2003.
My buddy want to run the MS Voice Command.
Also, with the updated Radio Stack, will he be able to connect continiously to the GPRS connection (sorry, I don't know too much about AT&T.) He really want the always-on internet.
Thanks for ANY advice given.

This happened to me using a mmc memory card to do the upgrade, it looked like it was doing everything ok, completed and gave the ok but on cold boot just hung, try another sd card, it just MIGHT work.
I'll look around for anohter SD card and see if that helps.
FYI, I've tried running the upgrade from the cradle/USB a couple of times, but that made no difference.
Also, since I was able to go back to WM2002 with the SD card, I can't see it being bad.
But thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go.

upgrading sx56 went wrong

Well this is the first time I've been unlucky for once. I've just finished cooking up some Rom for my ATT Siemens SX56. I was using the WM2003SE upgrading from PPC2002. I have a feeling that I did something wrong here and I'm guessing that I can't upgrade from PPC2002 and only WM2003? Well I'm not quite sure since I'm new to this. I successfully always upgraded the rom until now. After powering up, it started hanging at the startup logo with the version of the radio stack I think.
G1.3.3
UA.33
3.04
I've tried using ActiveSync and of course it didn't work. The cradle or A.S. did not recognize the device. Tried using XDATool, none. Is there anyway I could go around the ActiveSync?
Use sd card method for flashing.
tried that and it didn't work. I tried almost any methods out there. I tired upgrading from the original ATT Rom PPC2002 to the Special Edition 1.2 Rom and it still didnt work. What's odd is... I can't get my WM2003 to work anymore! When I first started upgrading the rom, I upgraded using SE 1.2, then downgrade to the original ATT rom back to the WM2003 which actually worked fine until I got piss at the radio stack and downgrade back to the PPC2002 but once I tried upgrading to WM2003SE, it didnt work at all which brought me to downgrade back to PPC2002 again and tried upgrading to WM2003 (ATT Version) which still didn't worked. I've tried upgrading the radio stack 6.24 and 6.25 and radio stack that would be compatible for the SX56 still didnt work. Even downgrading my bootloader from 5.22 to 5.15, it still didn't work. It's really odd... Can ANYONE help me?
I have similar problem, I have Qtek 1010 and I can put original rom on only (2002). I have had 2003 on there before and it worked fine but I have tried everything and nothing seems to work, all the 2003 and 2003se rom will not go past the boot screen.
Is your phone working at all.
My phone is perfectly fine, I'm just trying anyway to resolve that booting problem and so far, I'm getting no good results out of it... This is totally driving me nuts!
I tried neally every rom and I can't get any to work on my Qtek except the original 2002 Carrier device Rom...... I don't understand why we could both upgrade before with no worries and now it just will not work....
PLEASE HELP SOMEONE.....
THANKS
Well, so far I tried another rom, an older one and I still didn't get it to work... SD Flashing... The normal method with ActiveSys, it still didn't work. There has to be a reason to why this isn't working. Does ANYONE out there know whats going on here?!

Help - XDAII with an SD-502 GPS receiver

I recently bought an SD-502 receiver for my XDAII and have no end of trouble since. I was hesitant to buy it given the compatibility problems but latest compatibility lists say that it has been tested and works. Long story short, COM 7: which is supposed to be assigned to GPSUART as per GPS PPC websites is absent and I cannot find any way to add it. I have upgrade from WM2003 1.60 to 1.72 and there was no change.
Further to this, I have downloaded the WM2005 upgrade in the hope that It would recognize the device but now I can't load any version of WM withouth the Himaupgrad.exe saying that there was 'a problem during upgrade'.
Thanks to anyone who chooses to help.
Can you be more specific about this 'problem during upgrade'?
That's what Himaupgrad.exe calls it... verifies the ID of the pda and then you click yes to upgrade and it goes to the screen where it clears the current rom and loads the 3 new ones and instead of doing that, after about 30 secs it just says there was a problem during upgrade and says to soft start the pda, which I have tried with no success. I have tried many combinations of Radio, Ex Rom and Rom without luck. I have even tried the original upgrade package that is already on there which I downloaded from the UK o2 site and that gives the same error. So I figure it is something to do with the PDA not the upgrades.
Again, any help is much appreciated!
Thanks jamil

I own a universal o2 xda exec purchased from uk. It has been working greatly for about 8 month (on another SIM provider) without any troubles.
Suddenly it receives no signal, the phone doesn't seem to see the SIM, I can't enen access the phone settings.
After performing a soft reset I checked the device information and found that radio version & protocol version are BLANCK noyhing is written, also the IMEI number doesn't exist, nothing is written.
I tried to install a new ROM but it didn't work, I got an error message about my ROM image that is not compatible with my country code!!!!!!
I've been advised to reinstall the WM5????

did u try hard resetting the phone? try installing the rom with a RUU with no_ID
have a look on this page, this may give you additional info;
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal
Can you briefly describe how you did the ROM reinstallation (names of the files you opened, source, etc.)? You shouldn't be seeing the country code error message with the NO_ID installer.
have a look on this link;
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Instructions for those with Country Code error
You mentioned something about a problem with the radio stack. I tryed to install a No_ID rom and the system stopped at the radio stack update step.
So is it a hardware that has to be changed or exactly what?
and what has the radio stack to do with the IMEI no not appearing.
Sorry for disturbance but I 'm seeking any help

T-Mobile MDA Keys Hang.

Hello everyone,
I am new to Windows Mobiles. I have bought a used T-Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard), The problem with this is all the keys except Power Button, Align Screen & Camera button hangs after a minute or two the mobile is turned-on. Nothing works. I have to use soft keys to make a call. If I press Camera button the camera interface appears, when I close it, all keys started to work normally but again after one or two minutes it hangs and I would have to again use the same technique to make them work. Sometimes all the keys work normally for more than a minute but again hangs. I have searched in all the system settings & I can't find any option to configure it. I have searched many threads on this site to solve this problem but can't find the appropriate answer. It seems to me someone have burned wrong ROM or did something wrong with its ROM for which it is acting like this. Given are the specs of ROM.
IPL/SPL = 2.26. G3
T-Mobile ROM.
I am using SIM of my operator other than T-Mobile. (SIM Unlocked)
Also If I try to Hard-Reset the phone, When It say me to "Press Send to restore factory default settings or anyother key to quite", All keys hangs and I have to make a soft reset to get into working.
Can anyone tell me what the problem and how can i solve it ?
How do I know whether its CID Unlocked or not ?
Does Upgrading/Reinstalling the ROM will solve the problem ?
Is it hardware problem ?
Thanks in advance.
One more thing
I also have did a hard-reset by following the given procedure.
Start->Settings->System->Clear Storage.
It installed the OS after boot and my installed softwares disappeared. Which means it really hard-reseted itself, But still the problem isn't solved.
I am pretty much sure now its ROM/Hardware problem !!
Any idea about the solution ?
Have you tried to flash a new ROM yet? That may solve the problem, it made my power button work again.

I'm not sure, but that sounds to be seems like hardware problems. I'm not sure if that screen actually has anything to do with the ROM at all, which at best, it is IPL related? I would suggest you to try an offical T-Mobile ROM, which includes everything (i.e. IPL, SPL, and ROM) and see if this problem persists.
Can't find the official T-Mobile ROM.
Thanks for your replies. Can you please tell me from where I can find the Official T-Mobile ROM, I have searched on this site & xda-developers ftp site a lot, Some links are broken and somewhere FTP requires authentication. Also can't find it on Google. I think ruu_prodigy_1081002_104_10910_tmo_usa_ship is the original ROM file but can't find it anywhere except the T-mobile site which require a valid T-mobile no. Can you post some valid like here to download the file.
Thanks again.
If you were to go Wiki, at the ROM table page, bottom line, you would to find this
http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/
which should be a global site (if not US site), and if you go into it, 'MDA Vario', there is a ROM EXE to update to AKU. I saw it as UK which probably because I have an UK ip, you try going in and see if you have US version instead.
Also, for the TMobile US, you can consider getting a PAYG card just to get a valid tmobile number to get into the page to download stuff, IF you are sure there are something there (e.g. and if PAYG is cheap)
Ok, I got the UK version. I'll give it a try.

Well, I have tried Official ROM. But the problem is still there. I am also now pretty much sure that its a hardware problem. I guess the mobile needs to go to scrap now.
