GPS icon - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

lost my GPS icon in the settings area of my 8525, any help would be great. Thanks in advance

HTweakC from http://fit4cat.de (formerly called fit4cat Hermes Tweaker) has a checkbox to enable/disable the GPS icon in Connections. Works fine on my Vario 2.

Wireless on/off button on today screen

Is there a tweak or something else so that I can have a wireless on/off button on today screen (maybe at the bottom near comm manager shortcut) ?
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis with PHM tray launch
May be this is what you're looking for:
You can show in your today's screen the Wireless status. I use this and prefer to launch the Comm Manager from here than from the hardware button.
Show Wireless Today item
By just adding following keys to the registry will get you a nice 'wireless' today item that show Network name/status, WiFi name/status as well as Bluetooth status. Confirmed to work on AKU2 ROMs
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Wireless"]
"DLL"="netui.dll"
"Order"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Type"=dword:00000004
works very nice, but the status of my wireless connection is only displayed after i enable and disable the wireless again.
status of bluetooth is always displayed.
Is there any way to make sure status of the wifi is always displayed ?

I think that you want this, http://www.teksoftco.com/freeware/tekcommplugin002/
That's what I use and works fine. It has a little bug although. After a softreset the wireless button doesn't work. It need's first to be pushed on the comm manager. After that it works fine on the plugin.

Desktop Wifi & Bluetooth Status

Ive noticed some of the roms have a desktop wifi and bluetooth status bar, just wondered if that is a seperate available download that will work on WM5???
This will sort you out.....
....same as a search of the forum and the Wiki would....
Install the attached CAB, go to Start | Settings | Today | Items tab and tick the "Wireless" option, then "ok" your way back out and it will be there.
You can also change the behaviour of the plugin so that it jumps to Comm Manager when you tap on it (so you can switch WLAN/BT on/off) - but you gotta search the Wiki for that one
HTH,
Mark.
Works a treat, thanks, any other nifty little tools that might be of interest???
thanks for that one, just what I have been after.

Turn wifi on/off in quickmenu? Is there a way?

Hi there, I use quickmenu which is like the best program ever for ppc, but I can't find a way to add a wifi toggle to the quickmenu. Currently I have to go into settings->communications-comm manager and then turn on/off wifi which is very annoying!
Any way to add it to the list?
I use spb panel which does not have the wifi on/off toggle like the today screen.
THANKS!
phone alarm from pocketmax.net will do the tricks.
Or use pdaStatus which is a today plug-in, a screenshot in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459241&page=8
I use SPB Phone Today plugin... has made it ultimately easy! Can toggle all connections from it including bluetooth and wifi.
Try WirelessToday.cab; is shows you your Operator, BT status and WiFi status.
When you touch the today-item it will bring you to the comm manager.
Thanks, but I use the spb panel instead of today screen.
I assigned the left key button to comm manager for easy access.
attached is what you're looking for
I use this one to quick access to Wifi on/off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442727
check my new application, it is created to automatically control wifi and BT based on where you are. it might help you

Wifi "on/off" is missing in Comm Manager

Hello all. Recently installed these cab files: Wifi Router and Comm Manager for 3G on/off. After the installation, the Wifi on/off key is now missing in the Comm Manager. I can use the WIFI Router program to turn WIFI on and off. But I prefer to use the Comm Manager because it is easier to reach. What registry changes do I need to make in order to show the WIFI on/off button in the Comm Manager? Thanks
I also had the same problem when I installed the com manager 3g toggle. I posted the problem regarding the US T-Mobile HD2 with that cab.
It replaces the 'wifi' toogle with the 3g toogle. In the non US T-Mobile HD2 it will replace the 'push mail' toogle.
I think you needed to do the extra steps to keep the 'push mail' option BEFORE installing the cab. The registry entries for it may be gone now. (I was lazy and just hard reset to get it back and haven't reinstalled the 3g toogle afterward.)
Click on the 3G tab, not the on off switch, and it brings up the wifi option on a screen by its self.
Not the best way, but it "Works"!!
It works; thanks for the tip. I can live with that for now instead of a hard reset. Much appreciated guys.

Remove everything on the today screen

Hello,
I'm going to use my old Himalaya as an embeded GPS in my car, so I would like to customize the today screen so it displays nothing but my TomTom icon.
But I don't know how to do so.
The ideal result would be to remove both up and down trays and only have a TomTom and a File Explorer Icon.
Do you have any idea to do it?
Thanks for your help!
If you use wm6 you can go into settings -> personal -> today, and uncheck all but date (impossible to uncheck)
