Change Wizard hardware keyboard layout

Hi,
I have a Wizard with a QWERTY keyboard layout and German ROM.
im desperately searching for a possibility to change the keyboard layout WM5 uses, as the keys with special characters on the hardware keyboard generate the wrong characters as well as Y and Z are switched.
Is there any way to do this?

so do you want to keep with the german rom? if not could you not just install the english rom?
(why would they ship k-jam's with german rom but not with a german keyboard?)

sure why not... i just want the keyboard to work properly...

I have the same issue, I bought K-JAM with default "US" layout and need to add national characters to it (Just the hardware keyboard). If anyone has a bright idea which files (*.dll, config) need be changed, please let me know.

You can remap some keys
You can remap same keys to your custom UNICODE characters:

Take a look at AEKMap. But i-mate K-JAM has some limitations. I think it is because of the keyboard driver. Some keys like A, S, D, J, C and other cannot be remapped with the "blue button key". If you look at the keyboard, these are extensions normally found as "shifted number keys". This may be only the sofware driver. The implications are that some keys are shiftable and some are not. Unfortunatelly I would like to have a driver I could programme the way I like and assign any key with shift/blue any value.

Czech hardware keyboard mapping for HTC Wizard
After some time, I got it completed. You need to download and install AEKMap and then install two Czech keyboards:
Czech (Czech characters)
US (default US characters)
for switching use the Blue key and Space.
All czech keys (uppercase and lowercase) are accessed with the Blue key. Shift works too.

It has a little flaw:
try ž and then á
try ú and then ů
etc.
It is because these are the same key codes shifted and non-shifted. When they follow directly, the second key's shift state is either set or reset. Try any other key and it will be reset. I will try to contact Alexander Eltsyn to fix it. He's the author of AEKMap.

Hello guys! I'm having the same problem listed above. I have an QTEK A9100 (original ROM WM 5.0 in portuguese-Brazil provided by TIM). Inside it is equal Wizard, I mean, same hardware (at least thats what I've heard). I have updated it to WM 6.1 in English and after that, my fisical keyboard became crazy! I cannot use the specials caracters anymore! Please, help me!
Ps.: Forgive me for my terrible English

the same here! I am on an English OS with a German hardware keyboard (QWERTZ).
The thing is, that all cabs that circulating around don't work anymore. Since build 19xxx all those reg changes don't have an impact anymore! No way to change the hardware keyboard anymore!
any update on that??

Eu também tenho esse problema, mas intalei um driver de teclado que faz funcionar corretamente, menos a funçõa alternativa do espaço.

does anybody know if there are regional settings for Czech rep in the HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP ROM ?

Hi!
I have this ROM on my Compact MDA III and when I go to regional settings I can choose "Chech" but that won't make the language of the rom chech if that is what you where hoping for

Zdravím krajana, tu ROMku jsem uploadoval já a česká lokální nastavení tam jsou, ale jestli myslíš češtinu, tak tu si musíš doinstalovat, třeba od sunnysoftu. Pokud chceš, mohu ji zaslat.

to cosinusx: diky moc, netusil jsem ze se tu muze mluvit i cesky potreboval jsem jen vedet, jestli toto je ta original ROM, kterou kdyz tam nahraju zpatky, tak tam budu mit presne to co tam bylo kdyz jsem Artemise koupil. mam Art zatim par dni, tak chci vyzkouset nejake upravene ROMky, vsude pisou ze jsou lepsi/rychlejsi. muzes mi plz pripadne poradit nejakou dobrou a osvedcenou verzi ROM ?

Já používám tuto: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=304706, sviští jako blesk, a když ještě přetaktuješ, tak ty fámy o slabém OMAPu jsou směšné. Ta originální od HTC je hrozný zmetek. Strašně pomalá, když nainstaluješ češtinu skoro nepoužitelná a zůstane málo místa po její instalaci na programy. Jinak teď tady všichni horlivě čekáme na vytoužené WM6, mělo by být dostupné někdy v červnu na: http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3300.html .

I use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=304706, it is very fast and overclocked much more better, and lies about OMAP "slowness" are comic. Original HTC ROM according to me is horrible slow and after flashing there is small data space. Otherwise now we are waiting for official WM6 release from HTC (at last), which will be on: http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3300.html .

Ja se priznam ze ani ted u Artemise nemam moc problem s vykonem, nezda se mi to pomale, mel jsem hx4700 a ten o moc rychlejsi nebyl (aspon ne ve VGA modu), tak jestli to bude s tou novou ROM jeste rychlejsi, bude to super.
Cestinu nepouzivam, aspon lokalizaci ne, proto mi staci jen CZ regional settings aby to umelo zobrazit cz znaky, jednotky apod. Btw ta ROM co mi doporucujes predpokladam CZ reg settings taky ma, ze jo ?
Kazdopadne diky za tip, zkusim tam nahrat tu co mi doporucujes. Na WM6 cekam taky, koupil jsem Artemise vlastne az kdyz bylo jiste, ze na nej WM6 skutecne bude ... i kdyz, jiste to bude az ji tam budu mit

Ano, Rom v2.00.02 PV má česká lokální nastavení a také nepoužívám češtinu, jen zpomaluje a zabírá místo, vždy si ale dodávám českou klávesnici, kvůli háčkům a čárkám. Jinak ještě je zde k vidění ROM od PDAMObiz, také jede dobře, ale nemá české regionální nastavení.

Yes, Rom v2.00.02 PV has czech regional settings too. I don't use Czech localization, it makes Artemis slow and decreases data space. But every time I install czech keyboard due to diacritic. There is next good ROM called PDAmobiz, but it hasn't czech regional settings.

I just have flashed Rom v2.00.02 PD into my Artemis, everything works fine, but GPRS/EDGE indicator disappeared. With original ROM, there was E or G letter indicating availability of GPRS/EDGE next to the GSM signal strenght indicator ...

Thats because of the skin, there is a skin that makes WM5 look like WM6, only there is no G or E incorporated in the skin, if you close the process "Crossbow.exe" the bar skinning is gone and you can see the G or E again, but I guess thats not what you want

One more questuion, how to kill the processes ? Is there any "windows-xp-like" task manager ?

Hello i was trying to find it true search button but it seems i wasnt lucky enough.
Could pls anyone give me a link to a slovak rom.
Like Orange Spv M3100 or T-mobile Mda vario II

môžeš skúsiť češtinu od sunnysoftu, ale ti tak spomalí stroj, že ju hneď dáš preč.
TEORETICKY si môžeš upiecť vlastnú slovenskú romku, ale za toľko práce to nestojí.

u can try czech translation from sunnysoft, but it drastically slow down your machine, that u uninstall it immediately.
in theory, u can cook your own slovak rom, but you´ll be up to the eyes in work.

MDA Compact III WM 5.0 Flash

Hello,
after a lot other flashed devices it is time to try flashing MDA C-3 (P3300, Artemis). I have T-mobile GER WM 5.0 instaled (german tmobile operator) no SIM-LOCK, and would like to install ENG WM 5.0.
Does anyone have time to explatin step-by-step procedure of flashing and which ROM to use (is it okay to use original T-Mobile UK WWE ROM for a device bought in Germany)

Qtek 1010, 2020, 9090, S100, S200, 9100 just send PM

To flash a new ROM you need to run USPL first:

Then you'll be able to flash any ROM you like.
For the WM5 ROM, that should be a problem... Because there isn't many WM5 ROMs arround.
But try to search in the wiki.

You can allways try one WM6.1 cooked ROM. But that is you to decide!

But not WM 5.0, in 10% i got some error-not a suitable ROM (TMOUK WM 5 ROM).
So I downloaded WM 6.1 Black6Blue and finished.
But when I put my SIM it blocks at splashscreen.
Remove sim, work OK.
Back SIM again- and it works!
Put IgO2006-works. This is fenomenal device. But i have no pen, and will try to use with mouse temporarely.

i naravno pri flash-u koristi uspl,potrebno je samo 1.put,al ti nista ne znaci jos jednom...samo se osiguras,za svaki slucaj
joj jest lijepo nekom odgovorit na nasem
probaj potrazit stylus u NTCHS-u,trebali bi imati,oni su zastupnici za BiH
now in english...try using artemis touch 4.02 without cube, it works like a doxa
i put iGO8 and it runs great
and ofcourse use uspl when flashing,it's needed only the first time,but it won't harm to do it again...just to be sure,in any case
and mdaIII hasn't got wifi because it's i think arte300 model unlike p3300 which is arte100 and orbit which is arte200 which have wifi

i don't use it too often...but it's nice to have it sometimes i have very good connection on some places...so i exploit it

2. set Regional setting on English(Uited States)
3. copy and overwritte this files in windows folder (Resco explorer)
4. reset device and see.
and,of course...MAKE A BACKUP OF ORIGINAL FILES FIRST.

thank you for makeing this but for me is not too usable ( i am so used to english that when i open some office program which is converted to Croatian i cant use it ).

It seems that it works on KWBR and ENERGY ROMs so far.But this is pilot project and still needed to determine on which ROMs works and which dont.
