1300 mah vs 1350 mah battery from Cingular - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

So I got a replacement 8525 from Cingular today. But the battery they sent me is only 1300 mAh vs the one I already had which is 1350 mAh.
Anyone know why they reduced the battery size? I am thinking I am just going to keep my old battery.

Another thing I just noticed, the new 8525 they sent me has a darker screen. At max brightness its got a slight yellowish tint.
I don't know, maybe its a crappy refurb they sent me. I don't want it. I don't even think my phone had a problem, there network was just down but they didn't know it.

I just got a 8525 myself and the battery capacity is 1300 also. As for the screen, I don't see the yellowish tint to it. Then again, I don't have another one to compare to.

[Q] What are shortcomings on DHD ?

What are the main shortcomings on DHD ?
Battery life - it can least for 24h - enough for me
Sound quality - "call trick" made things up
Camera lens and blur ?
Is it now fixed ( I'm planning to buy a phone in 2 weeks ( in this Shop where i want to buy it came before 2-3 weeks ago) ?
This is my main concern, so if u now good news it will be good :/
Greetings from Sarajevo
Higher pixel resolution, coating on the screen against fingerprints&better protection in sunlight, better build quilty (The battery/simcard plastic thingy's) frontcamera, multicoloured LED notification lights.
That would be it. I am happy with the battery life.
I would say is the battery issue only..
As far as build quality goes, you're better of getting a plastic phone.
The metal is great, but those covers just make me wanna die.
I got a cheapo tpu silicon case off eBay for my dhd and its the best case I've ever had for a phone, it adds a bit to the thickness of the phone but its not obtrusive. I can get a day of heavy usage using cm7 and mm's battery fix. Call quality is great, although speaker volume is on the low side.
Others ?
I don't have any issues with my DHD anymore. The sound problem and battery life was fixed with a custom rom, sim & battery covers fit perfect and the camera lens/blur issue was fixed with a warranty repair (this problem is found only in the first batch of phones?). The screen is everything i need (yes i've used iphone 4 and galaxy s), a higher resolution wouldn't make such a big difference and I like the colors more than the amoled screen colors.

Well before this I had a 3GS. That had a coating which was really nice because the fingerprints weren't getting visible. The Ipad has a special kind of coating to.
You could probably buy some kind of spray for it but for a crown-jewel product of a manufacture like HTC it should be a 'must'

White saturation (contrast) is driving me nuts !!!

Like all of you I've used a lot of lcd devices in my life....but this one definitely has the worst white saturation I have ever seen! I'm surprised nobody hasn't mentioned this before.
Can you guys please tell me that my device is damaged or something...
You check your screen by looking at this picture http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php
Ideally you should be able distinguish between all of the shades of grey and the white background.
I can only distinguish 200 (which is pretty obvious) and *barely* the next three ( 244-246). Everything above 246 I cannot see.
Do you guys know any settings that can be change to improve this ?
My current solution is to use Screen fliter app which makes the screen 10x better to look at but I it darkens it a lot.
Btw I'm on official .29 with root.
Gets hard for me to decipher at 250.
250 I can see, anything after that becomes near impossible.
Thanks guys for your replies.
I just went back to the store and compared my tf300t to the demo unit. My unit is clearly faulty ... my screen seems to be brighter but the contrast is worse. On the demo unit I could also see up to 250. So we can assume these are the correct values for this display.
I will get my replacement unit as soon they have it in stock
I'm so relieved...
I got to 249 on my tablet, and to 254 on my calibrated IPS panel on my desktop (just for reference).
Not too bad for a tablet screen imho, also glad you got a replacement.
254 on my phone, which is known to not have the best screen in the world.
250 on the tablet, which is kind of depressing...

250 is barely noticeable here, anything past it is just white on mine.
My SGS AMOLED+ goes to 253, just as reference.
Yeah same, mine goes to about 250, but I can say that I have noticed a little over-saturation but not often enough to be a problem or deal breaker to me.

Screen brightness levels old vs new

I got my RMA device today, and the image retention problem I had isn't as bad on this device. However I have noticed a considerable difference in the brightness of this device compared to the old one. The old one has a much brighter screen, and the yellow on the left is much worse on the new device. With my old Nexus 4 the yellow got better over time, so I think that might be the case with this one too, however will the screen get brighter over time? I doubt it. Has anyone else noticed a darker screen on the newer devices? My old nexus 4 was a 301K and rev_10. The new one I got today is a 303K and rev_11.
So has anyone noticed a difference?

Just got my Nexus 6 - Initial impressions

Just got my Nexus 6 - 64gb blue, initial impressions:
- The blue color is almost greyish blue, looks very good, trim is light greyish blue and back is dark grey.
- Screen is very bright, but bit dimmer than my note 3, however colors are better and more accurate than Note 3
- Screen is bit curvy, so Tampered glass may not work properly
- Out of the box available storage memory - 54.64gb
- 15 minute charge with Turbo charge gave 25% charge (from 50 to 76%)
Battery:
I haven't used the phone for full day yet, but here is my impression about battery:
yesterday I measured - with 25% battery usage i got 5 hours phone time with 1 hour screen on time
- Phone is on Verizon LTE with Very ggod signal
- Screen brightness set to Adaptive brightness
- Ambient display off
- sync off (Gmail, calender etc..)
- Used Pandora for about 40min, browsed internet for 40 min, GPS/maps for 1hr 15 min
I have a feeling that for my usage - N6 would give me 20 hours phone time with 4+ hours screen on time, I think this is pretty good for a QHD 5" screen phone and probably comparable with Note 4.
Wireless Charging:
Used with Nokia BT-910 Qi wireless charger and it worked.
Verizon Wireless:
I cut my micro SIM to nano sim and it worked without any issues, also it didn't prompt me to install any VZW bloat since I put the SIM after the first boot, few people reported that you will be prompted to install any VZW bloat if you have SIM in the phone at the first boot and you can chhose not to install.
My signal seems to be better than Note 3, so far N6 is always on LTE, never saw going to 3G in places where Note 3 was switching to 3G..
Will update this post with more details and pics...
Pictures:
1. Nexus 6 box
2. N6 and Note 3 screens at 100% brightness
3. N6 Screen - to me there is no yellow tint or bottom yellow band

From Moto
I'm so jealous of you right now
I've read that the blue is very dark as you mentioned. How is the trim? Most of the shots I"ve seen make it look very purple. Is it more of a blue color with the back looking more gray?

Absolutely not purple at all, trim is light greyish blue and back is dark grey
How is the display in sunlight? That seems to be the biggest concern around here among the doubters.
Curvy? It's not flat?

Many of the reviews have noted that the screen has a curvature to it.
OMG 64gb is like da bomb.
lucky you
Does it come with a usb cable? Can you try charging it up and see if it hits 100% in 15 minutes?
How are the speakers ?

Unfortunately outside it's cloudy and drizzling, will check when sun comes out..
The edges of the glass slope down towards the trim. This helps slide on/off the screen. The downside is that screen protectors cannot follow that curve so get cut shorter.
The iPhone 6 has this same (issue?) feature.

yes, it's curvy, not too curvy, very subtle in the middle, probably similar to Galaxy nexus if i remember correctly..

You know the 15 min turbo charging feature is meant to give you 6 hours of juice which isn't 100%. There was a test on droid life and in 15 min it got up to 38%. Additionally as you get more juice, the turbo charging feature shuts off so your left with normal charging to 100%.
Did you got a screen protector for it? if so, then how it looks like. I really want to know. The Note 4 is a nightmare.

Did not know that. I remember them saying on the site you get up to 8 hrs in 15 minutes.

Stupid question - Any chance it came with a T-Mobile SIM? Motorola shipped the Moto X unlocked with one, so figured I'd ask. Mine is sitting at home, otherwise I would know!
its gonna be the same issue as my g2 for tempered screens, the edges that are tapered wont be covered up since the glass will get cut short of those edges, i hated it =/ prolly gonna have to get used to PET protectors, i did order 2 xtremeguard glass for the n6 will see how it works once theyre both in my hands, but on the g2 anything that was to the curve the edges wouldnt stick =/

S10+ owners: does your screen have a pink (or any other color) tint?

I just bought a S10+ off ebay and though the phone is in good shape with decent battery life still, the screen has a pink tint. This is very obvious because I use dark mode everywhere and white text and icons are pink / purple and not white, whether in natural mode or vivid. It's noticeable by itself, but when put next to an iphone with LCD (which are fairly accurate color-wise), it's like UGH that looks bad. It's like the LEDs on cheap RGB keyboards that are pink / yellow / purple / green when they're supposed to be white.
the seller has 30 day free return and I'm trying to decide if I should roll the dice and exchange for another one (they're a business and have a bunch of these). So I want to ask S10+ owners: Does your white text have a pink (or any color) tint, and how long have you had your phone?
thanks
The S10+ exceeds (or should) the iPhones display specs.
The white balance should be near perfect.
Use Screen Test to better evaluate the display. It may be the blue pixels have stated to degraded.
The red pixels generally have the longest lifespan.
Unless a factory reset fixes it, I would return it.
You can get a new, factory sealed box one here.
Or a new unlocked N10+ Snapdragon. This where I got my 2nd N10+ 3 months ago. No doubt about it's history or usage as it's been sitting on a shelf.

I have no doubt the screen is great when new. I'm talking about what happens to the screen once it's been in use for a few years

You replace it.
My N10+ that's been heavily used for 2 years shows no color shift, decrease in max brightness, dead pixels etc.
However I'm careful to keep the brightness below 50% almost always. If I use it in the sun it's for seconds, it almost never sees direct sunlight.
I use manual brightness control.
