Ok, I bought this Siemens on Ebay and it came with the Special Editon ROM 1.2. Problem is I can't ever seem to get it to connect to ATT Wireless, it has T-Mobile options but it appears to not allow ATT Wireless. It works fine as a phone and it accepts the ATT Sim Card. I went to AT&T and set up the connection so that I can connect to att GPRS. Well it connects however anytime i try to access e-mail or any website in IE or any of the web programs that came with this rom it will give me a page can't be found error. Anyone have a fix? Thank you!!!!
HUH
Upgrade your rom in www.yorch.net kitchen , in WM2003 the problem is fixed. If u dont want to upgrade XDA , just simply use other web browser
i got same problem too, everything works fine when i upgraded
hi,
sorry for being a n00b--but in my searching i couldn't find anything to help me out with this. i just got an MDA, unlocked it using the fantastic program available on this site, and everything works great...except i can't get the internet. wi-fi obviously works swimmingly, but i can't seem to find the proper settings in order to make my new phone connect to my carrier's data network (Cingular).
can someone PLEASE help??? this has been driving me crazy for the last week.
thanks.
Get the Cingular Ext ROM files from the FTP, they will contain all of the setting you need.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Universal in the US on Cingular? I just bought an unlocked one for $440 I have an 8525. I know it wont use the 3g like my 8525, but I was wondering if it still will be somewhat OK? Also is it possible for me to use my 8525 to give wireless connection to my universal? I think I could live with that.
I currently havae an Orange M5000 on cingular right now. It works fine.

How did you get all the sms mms Internet settings on? Also how are your Gprs speeds?
I don't have Cingular, but www.wireless.att.com is where I would start, and after about 3 minutes, I found this:
http://www.wireless.att.com/businesssupport/deviceConfig.do?content=KB71266.html
It had pictures and everything. Here's the deal: It says it is for an 8525, but a Windows Mobile phone is a Windows Mobile phone. The procedure is the same.
HTH,
Jeff
did basically what the last guy said. I used an hp from the support page and to setup the gprs. it was easy and it works great. i also use the internet sharing to connect it to my laptop and its pretty quick.
Is it possible to tether my 3G connection from my 8525 to my Universal? This would help me because I live in the US where the 3G doesnt work for the Universal.
Anyone is it possible?
Should be possible with bluetooth. I've done it with my Hermes and a PocketLoox720
The exact process involved depends upon if you are running the original early version of WM5, or a later AKU WM5 or WM6 Rom

I think the Universal has an old ROM but for the Hermes if I use the original ROM from Cingular I am not sure? Thanks for th info though I will post when I get my Universal later this week. Thanx.
I'm having the same problem as most of you with this phone. I notice that only after upgrading the rom (for Telus HTC P4000 and Sprint Mogul) that you get this problem. Can some check what are the registry setting for the bluetooth on the old rom to see if we can set it in the new rom.
P.S. here is some info on the Bell PPC6800

Possibly a WM6 issue... we're unsure at the moment what the issue entails, but I think its more than a registry tweak. I think the WM6 drivers for BT have a problem...
im having problems w/6800 staying connected with bluetooth for more than 30 sec is there a fix for this.very hard to get paired and will not give me a com port for the device i connect to
