Use COmm Mgr button to switch to silent? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Is there a way to make it so the phone switches to silent instead of vibrate when pressing and holding the comm manager button?
-Keith

Hi, download this file, and put in in a directory, and link it in startup, or you could just drop in in your startup folder too, should work
ftp://gfy.zapto.org/trayicon_mannermode.exe

see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294195
EDIT: sorry, that doesn't really answer your question

Ahh, I didn't know that was there, that cab installs what I posted, and I realize now that my fix was wrong too, it was "silent" not "vibrate", my bad, sorry for the misinformation, I just mentally associated silent with vibrate.

why don't you just change the setting in Advanced Config so that whenever the screen is switched off, the phone automatically locks?
Search.
For example great sensorlock

You may try this one:

This software works very good and only disable the touch screen when there is call so that the call will not accidentally missed. Just what phone lock works. By the way, HTC dialer will automatically disable the built in phone lock when there comes a new call.

[APP] GSuspend - suspend device by facedown.

Hello!
GSuspend simple tool which put device to suspend (standby) mode when HTC Diamand is facedown.
To unload start it again.
To install , just extract folder to Program Files, and copy .lnk to Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
After new ROM has issued, GSEN stop worked stabily, and i started to search my favourity ability of gsen - facedown suspend. But i can't find replacement of GSEN in this ability.
Finally fight win my desire against my laziness and done this application.
In the base of this app was SensorLock thanks surfsmurf.
I hope somebody also find it usefull.
Thanks
P.S. Improved power management.
Still looking sample to catch event of incoming call, if somebody can share C++
Tnx, I'll try it right now!
[EDIT] Works perfect! Very small and light application btw.
One thing I noticed; my phone is not locked with PocketShield after turning back on.
Thanks

Thank you for what must've cost you time & valued effort.
Is it possible for you to modify this in a way that it would automatically Silence the device when facedown, and back to normal volume settings on all other positions? I find it VERY useful to have that -instead of having to turn it face up & down everytime a call comes in". Everybody else apparently misses the point that a phone vibrating on wooden desks is just as terribley impolite as having it spitting jams left & right.
Do consider it...
changeScreen has a feature built into it that can suspend the phone when it's flipped face down

thats exactly what I want
but I think "upside down" or "Portrait 180" is more reliable for this job
and a small vibrate in the hand to confirm the suspend is good too
1KB MEM . . . thats awesome
thanks,
Sorry , i noticed battery drain, will work on that , sorry
is this app only turn off scren on face down or it is suspend device, because changescreen only tunr off screen??
"upside down" or "Portrait 180" excellent idea
but i dont need vibrate(i hate it)
I'm a little confused now . I'm reading about an app that turns the device on silent when faced down. This is what I'm looking for, so I can easily mute during a meeting. Vibrate on 'siwtch' is also perfectly. But my confusion is: which app do I need (or doe'sn't it exist for now )

If you receive a call during a meeting, the function to turn your phone face-down to mute the call is already build in. (maybe you have to activate it using Advanced Configuration)
GSuspend it a tool to put your device in standby on face-down.

TouchLockPro can do the same (configurable), is also small and is at the same time a lock/unlock program. Beside the GSensor, it also can couple commands to capacitive swipes, e.g. to suspend the device.

The 'turn-to-mute' function is working oké, but what I'm looking for is an app that turns my device on 'silent' when my device ís faceddown and 'normal' faced-up. So when I'm in a meeting I don't have to switch profile or flip my phone

Right on, +1 here. In meetings, if you're unprepared, you'd have to flip over & over & over, etc..., everytime you get a call. It gets irritating until you actually start pushing buttons and adjusting it manually...
If you have that meeting scheduled in your calendar, you could try G-Profile for example.
Based on your calendar, G-Profile can adjust your notification settings.

Thank you, that worked (can't believe I missed it).
no worries... Its easy to get lost some times in wm, even more so when this is masked by htc sense ui
Great, thanks for the tip! I thought I had been through all sub-menus but I somehow missed the "Personal" one

Profile option?

Hi,
I noted with interest when going into the Ringtones etc config section via the HTC Settings interface there are a number of profiles defined. This is something of interest to me as I miss these from my Nokia days (one for at work when I want subtle, one for in the car when I want loud etc).
Is there a quick way to then get to (ie. switch between) these profiles once configured that anyone has found?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah i was about to post the same thing, how annoying....
Yeah, you could just click the volum rocker and choose between Silent, Vibrate or change the volue of ringer or system to suite your mood it is very handy and quick.
G-profile is a good solution ...

i would also prefer a quick access to the 'sound & display' page, because ticking the volume slider work maybe 6 out of 10 times, for me.

Um your are reading into it to far, it means what it means lol.
darn, ok
i guess i just have to consider G-profile then, anyone knows any free version of G-profile?
I definitely propose CommMgrPro (also in this forum - use search).
The skin work is bad (but you can make something nicer yourself if you like), but the function is perfect. After all the developer owns an HD2.
He soon plans on a GUI update, but as I said in terms of functionality, it is unbeatable.

Volume control interface of 219XX used in 235XX

I love 235XX rom interface so much but the volume control interface is not convenient. Everytime when I set it to "vibrate" mode, ringtone is off but the phone also muted at the same time. Finally, I use 219XX loathly.
So, I want to know can I use the Volume control interface of rom 219XX in rom 235XX. Or have any method to "prevent" the phone is muted when using the rom 235XX setting to "vibrate" mode.
Thanks!!

Maybe I miss something but is this not the reason behind the "vibrate mode"? You want a quit phone which informs you only with vibrations and not with sound.

What do you exactly mean with "vibrate mode"?
The "vibration mode" for me is, when the call is coming, my phone will vibrate with no ringtone and I can hear and talk with my friend.
Attached image is not exact but similar volume control interface of 235XX rom. Everytime I want to set my phone to "vibrate"(no ringtone, but can hear and talk with my friend after I receive the call), I click the clickbox "vibrate" on the right side. After that both the ring and phone will drop to bottom. Even I know the call is coming and I receive it, I can't hear anything.

dude try blackstonehenge hyperseries for sense 2.5 or simple blackstonehenge for sense 2.1... they both r based on 6.5.x platform... 28232 series and the chef has made a custom volume control for them... which looks and works pretty much like the 219xx series htc volume control

This looks to me like a bug of some kind...
You can set your phone to ring and vibrate at the same time (which will be done when you select the 'on' box).
It can also only vibrate (the 'vibrate' box) and it can also do neither (which is the 'off' or 'silent' function).
In al three option calling itself is still possible without any problem. So you can hear the person on the other side of the line...
Does this cover your question or did i misunderstand?

Like by every other ROM. When you will set only the phone to vibrate you have to use a tool for this or change the phone ring to vibrate.

I never have this problem and I test many different ROMS as Blackstone, energy, dutty, mary, evo, mikenificent ... ROMS.
Maybe you install something or make a tweak which have this result?

Ok! I see.
Would you suggest any tool for this function? AEButton??
Thanks all!
I do use the AEButton to control my mobile phone for changing to "vibrate" mode instead of using the volume control directly.

And from this time on, I've lost the original volume control screen, and I have one like seen in this post. How can I restore the original volume control screen please ?

Hard Reset or provide more info about the ROM you're using and what volume control you used before.
I want to avoid a hard reset.
I never changed the ROM.
These are the original characteristics :
Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro
version syst 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manilla 2.5.19211619.0
ROM 1.66.483.0 (76641) FRE 01/12/10
Radio 2.06.51.07
Protocole 15.30.50.07U
How can I know which volume control is used now ?
How can I roll back to the original one ?
BTW : This problem appeared when I tried to install Max Manilla. I had not enough memory, so the install failed and since then I've got this volume control screen old fashioned.
Thanks
I see the only possibility: Hard Reset!
Hard reset done
Hello, I reinstalled the Bouygues ROM. When I restore my SPB Backup, the problem is here again. Sadly I don't have any intermediate backup between the first one (no applications installed) and the last one.
How can I save the volume files from the first backup and install my last backup ?
