I haven't heard anything about unlocking the P3300 lately...
So guys, this is a reminder!
Let's join forces to unlock this friggin machine!
I'm trying things myself, but it looks like I'm the only one...
(I could be wrong)
But after I've seen the P3600 unlock soft download link in the "Trinity" side
of the forum I went kinda crazy...
Dudez.. Let's ROCK and UNLOCK!!!! (plz)
any luck so far ? will a hard reset plus soft reset (to delete the T-Mobile soft) work ? Hope to hear from you.
thom
2 delete t-mo $hit just soft rst when popup "..customizing your dev will start in 3sec" or how is it
Dudez... U can't just delete the simlock...
It's not possible by Hard-Resetting or Soft-Resetting...
U need to have a lot of experience with cracking/hacking to get the simlock off, but nowadays hackers/crackers became lazy...
I'm trying my best to study, but it takes a lot of time and I don't think I'm going to be able to research this within a few months. I'm not good enough.
But I'm doing my best...
How about you experts? Does the coffee taste good!?
Someone knows http://www.jafwm.com/ ? Does it work on the MDA III Compact?
Ciao
I can't access to their forum:

Wheres POF et al !
I wonder if Pof has joined forces with imeicheck.co.uk to stiffle his bid to provide the free version of the Atemis Unlocker for the masses....
Well, if anyone sees him, tell him not to let us all down...
Maybe Wm6 will inspire someone, demand for the device will surely increase.
Will it make the unlock procedure slightly different?
Trust Pof he will something out for us,i have also posted in the Trinity and Hermes forum requesting Pof,Des and Olipro for the SSPL tool for the Artemis,im sure they are working on it,lets hope something fast comes out of it.

dont think (or I dare to say) that unlock procedure doesnt depend on OS version. Maybe on radio and bootloader - unlock Universal U have to use some special radio, SSPL is some part of bootloader if i remember.

Hi i do the operation to unlock sim and cid a lot of times with herm_unlock_V3a and i can't restore my imei using jafwm restore (i bought the jafwm dongle), it always says me the same error "could not save data to sd card, your phone must be unlocked, your sd card must be empty". Sorry for what? Normally it is not necessary to open a new threat for any question that you might have, just join the different threats about a particular subject.
I guess you are new to all this upgrading stuff. First of all, and most important, is to find out whether your device is cid-locked or not. I think that it is safe to say that when you got your device through a telephone provider, like Orange or T-Mobile, at a very cheap price, then the device is locked and you should have it unlocked before flashing any ROM (except the official ones that you can download from your providers site). When you bought your device retail, at the full price (the Artemis is sold around 500 euro's), then the device is not locked.
Upgrading itself can be pretty straightforward: just establish an ActiveSync connection, run the <ROM name>.exe from your pc and follow the instructions on your screen.

Unfortunately, no, not really. On older HTC models you could find out by running the mtty tool, but it doesn't work on the Artemis. I read somewhere that on our device that whole locking (and unlocking) method is quite different than on other models. That is also why it seems so hard to develop a free unlock tool for the Artemis.
The only way you can be absolutely sure is by running the unlock tool from imei-check, but they will charge you for it.
If you just THINK that your device might be unlocked, then I would not recommend to try flashing any other than an official ROM. Of course, it is your choice and you might want to take the risk. That risk is that your phone will become 'bricked' and won't start normally. The only way out of that situation is returning it to the seller to have it restored. Some people with a bricked phone however are able to restore it themselves with the original ROM, so make sure that you have that ROM available. Some original ROMs can be found on the internet, but not all of them.
sorry but you said

Andreazzo,
Your Artemis, does it have a logo on the body. A logo from maybe T-mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2 or whatever telecom provider?
If yes, the you shouldn't flash your device with v2.00.02 PV for HTC Artemis ( Crossbow Style ), because the chances are that you will brick it.
If your P3300 only has the HTC logo, then it is fully unlocked and you can flash whatever rom (flavor) you want for the Artemis.
So be aware of the fact. The life of your P3300 is in your hands.
This it is not probably true information. This it is not to end rule
My Artemis he had only logo on body. The logo of start take-off was the only HTC also. No trace T Mobile Orange O2 Vodafone. And I have brick. :{
I tried flash by bootloader however still announcement INVALID ID
Follow for voice grun. get rid (remove) CID - will not it be dust brick as I.

Hi all,
I want to install the original HTC ROM on my MDA Compact (T-Mobile version of TD2).
Has anyone tried this before? As far as I can see, this should be working with a HardSPL.
However, I've tried to download the ROM from the HTC webpage. The page asks for the serial number and it doesn't accept the serial from my MDA Compact.
Can anyone give me the serial of a TD2 (german version)?
Thanks in advance,
Caroline

I mean WM6.5 in general. There are too many people reporting problems with it and too few people reporting improvements.
That's interesting. I've read many threads about this new ROM and I now have the opposite impression. Most of the people say that the new ROM is quite better than the old one.

Can't install on T-mobile COMPACT V uk
Hi,
I've tried the steps mentioned in this thread to get wm6.5 onto my T-mobile MDA COMPACT V but it wont work.
It starts to install and then says "verfity you want to update the ROM version" From "Images version 1.40.110.1" To "Image Version 2.16.405.4".
I click on 'Next' to complete the update but the PC then reports "ERROR 294: INVALID VENDOR ID".
I then have no option other than to click 'Exit' which cancels the install.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
I really want to update this phone to 6.5
Thanks
Josh
As I mentioned before, you have to install HardSPL.
HardSPL v1.83! There's no difference between TD2 and MDA V except cover-design.
HTC Rom is working well and stable, but miss Manilla 2.5, so revert to Dutty's R7 ROM which's comes close to stability of stock ROM.

The difference is that HTC's ROM upgrade process detects the model being upgraded and does not allow a compact V to be flashed with TD2 official ROM by this method. They are separate models.
You have to change the vendor ID and fool it into seeing a TD2 or CID unlock to allow cooked ROMs to be flashed.
Try one of Aman's cooked ROMs (TESS version 3.9 is the latest). They are very good, stable and fast. Flash hard spl first (olipro 1.83) and you should have no problems.

This is incorrect - where did you get this information from? A T-Mobile Compact V is a TD2 internally, model no. T5353. With HardSPL 1.83 installed it can be flashed to any ROM, including any HTC stock ROM. That's how I flashed my Compact V with the new HTC stock WWE 6.5 ROM this week.

It's not incorrect!
You unlocked the ID specific to the T-mobile product by flashing HSPL. This has been the case ever since they began branding HTC phones. It's also done by many other manufacturers as a means of network providers locking in users to their branded OSs and is used by them to determine warranty liability in the case of recalls and service work. Nokia is another manufacturer that does this extensively with T-mobile.
The whole point of HSPL flashing is so that you can bypass this lock mechanism and flash what you like. As you found out.
Otherwise there would be no need to remove it, reflash with a stock ROM and "relock" should a return through your network operater be required.
This was also the reason why there was an initial wait for SPL/HSPL when the TD2 was launched as flashing cooked ROMs to a branded phone was not possible.
If you look at the earliest threds on this forum you will see that.
The Compact V and the generic TD2 may run the same internal hardware (and I would even question that as common sense would dictate improvements along the way should they be required) but the HTC website upgrade system detects a difference between the "stock" models when presented for a flash.
Regardless of what you meant to say, you quoted a previous post which (correctly) suggested that HardSPL 1.83 was what was needed, and which you then directly contradicted by saying "HTC's ROM upgrade process... does not allow a compact V to be flashed with TD2 official ROM by this method." The only method mentioned in the quoted post was HardSPL 1.83, and it looked like you were saying that wouldn't work. That's what I said was incorrect.
You then said "They are separate models", which is incorrect because under the covers they are the same (Topaz T5353) - maybe you meant "different brands", but that's not what you said. You went on to say that you have to "fool it into seeing a TD2", which is not correct; the process of installing HardSPL doesn't fool anything into seeing a different model, it just removes the CID lock.
To me, what your post said was that a stock HTC ROM couldn't be flashed onto a Compact V by the usual process of installing HardSPL, because it was not actually a TD2 and therefore you needed to "fool" the HTC upgrade process (how, you didn't specify). (Presumably though, an Orange TD2 would be OK because that really is a proper TD2, so no "fooling" required.)
That may not be what you meant, but that's how I read it. Read your post back and maybe you can see my point. This would be very confusing to a newcomer, which is why I decided to point out the errors.

I meant to say everything I did say.
The post quoted didn't suggest anything. It stated "HardSPL v1.83!" without any qualification and then asserted that "There's no difference between TD2 and MDA V except cover-design." which is untrue!
I ignored the former and pointed out the incorrectness of the later.
Whatever you thought it looked like I said is less important than what I actually did say and it would seem that as I ignored the HSPL reference as being a point taken for granted you construed my statement that there was a difference between the TD2 and the Compact V as a comment on the relevance of the use of HSPL to the upgrade process via the HTC site.
So in order to clarify and run the risk of being pedantic at the same time allow me to elucidate-
If a stock Compact V is presented to the HTC site for upgrade by way of their online system it will be rejected as an inappropriate model.
The Compact V is designated as a TOPA200 model by HTC, extensively designed and branded for T-mobile and therefore is not recognised as a TD2, a Topaz, a T5353 or any combination thereof. The model information is held in a HARD flashed portion of memory that is addressed by HSPL at a programming level not normally accessible to end users. There are other parameters that are embedded in the same way as well as other requirements that are specified by T-mobile (and other carriers on model variants) that are included in the stock carriers ROM. Certain functions are disabled and branding applied by way of bespoke software and programming.
Flashing HSPL allows it to be "seen" as the correct model for upgrade by this method. It does not turn it into another model.
I trust that clears up any confusion and puts my comments into perspective.
If anyone read my post(s) and took it (them) any other way then I hope that clears it up and rectifies any "errors" that may have been misinterpreted.
MDA Compact V
Hi After some "fun" today my MDA compact V now thinks its a TD2, flashed it with SPL 1.83 and then put the HTC Topaz flash on, as per above, all appears to work very well - now on O2

Hi!
I have htc hero with 1.5 firmware, 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18 Baseband version, 2.6.27 kernel, 2.73.405.5 and 1.0.0.A6288 sotware version. My phone is locket by Hungary-Vodafone.
I bought unlock code 3 different website, but unlock code always be the same. Please help me, how to unlock my phone.
It may be that your firmware is like the Orange UK firmware, which would not allow unlocking (it seems to work, but your phone remains sim-locked).
You should probably try installing another ROM on your phone (e.g. MoDaCo) to see if that accepts your unlock code as this worked for Orange UK Heroes.
Look in the development forum for details of how to do this - you may need to use a goldcard.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for the fast answer, i will test it.

Hi Dave!
I try 10 different roms (generic, modaco, t-mobile uk, ect) but my unlock code not work with the different roms. Please help.
In that case, it sounds like your unlock code must be incorrect, because this process has worked for other Orange Hero owners.

I bought 3 different sites
htccode.com
hero.unlock-now.com/
mobileunlocked.com/HTC/Hero
all codes are same!
It was definitely the case with Orange UK Heros that you could enter an unlock code, and it would appear to accept it, but the phone wouldn't not connect to the new network. It was then found that if you flashed your phone with a different ROM and tried the code again, the phone would unlock correctly. Once this was done you could even load the original ROM again without issue.
Just to check, you did follow the process below:
1. Flash a different ROM (e.g. MoDaCo)
2. Boot the phone with the non-Orange SIM - it should ask you to enter the unlock code.
3. Enter the code
4. Reboot
If flashing a new ROM hasn't worked for you, I guess you've got a new problem!
Sorry - I don't think I can help you further.

Dave

TG-01 Flash Unlock
Hello.
Could someone advise whether flashing the TG01WP-WM6.5-Generic-IT.zip as described in this thread (two pin short) gives a no-sim-lock phone?
Would flashing Orange TG01WP-WM6.5-Orange-UK.zip onto a Generic ROM then give an Orange branded phone with no sim-lock?
Thanks in advance - Looking to save a few Pounds and get up and running quickly!

I doubt it. Mine was an orangeRO locked, flashed on italian ROM with sddl+ and still orange locked.
Not able to install the English rom
I tried installing the English version downloaded from the Toshiba website.. it says the variant is in valid... can some body help me.
Did you paste the due files at the SD Card root, or inside a subfolder? Trouble could come from that...
The files are on the root of the SD Card... It says SD download failed...
I suppose you used sddl+ as indicated...
By this way, "SD dowloading failed variant is invalid"; was not this the error message when french user tried to get an UK Rom, for instance, on Toshiba Website, and Orange did not want their customers play "rom travel" game? I am not sure I remember well about this; did you have to give your IMEI at some point?
Yes i Used My IMEI number to download the toshiba website to download the english rom
Guys if you have any TG01 buyed in EU you can pud any TG01 ROM Spaish,English,Italian etc... But if it's a Japanese or Asian TG01 don't play with it.
To change rom just pud in the SD /prg/ file and SDDL+ ne one from stepw and run it. If not the same system but we don use SDDL we use a short pin. You can find everyting on forum.
So, trying to test my understanding: (with bits of informations here and there, on this forum and others, I'm getting rather confused)
There would be different "kinds" of Tsunagis, depending wether they were sold in EU or Asia. (hardware? Toshiba programming level?)
Among european TG, due to commercial treaties with Orange, some (French, English, Helvetian) TG would be Orange branded, and sold Orange locked, while Italian TG would be unbranded?
So, if you have an Orange branded TG, still Orange locked or unlocked, you cannot just change to any European WM6.5 Rom just dowloading it from Toshiba website, where you have to "tell" your country giving your IMEI. (you would stumble on that "invalid variant" error message)
Instead, must use the stepw way, refered to in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629586, (or http://www.adryan.evonet.ro/pocket pc/Toshiba TG01/ROM-uri/), or the "short pin" confused: whatever that might be, my poor english don't allow me to understand much about it)
But this would be "dangerous" for an Asian TG, though, unless I missed the information, eekthecat did not say for how long he had been using his phone before he tried, and if he knew for sure his TG was a well working one and not a disastrous bugger (at least some french tsunagists had many problems with theirs, and gave up for another device after some exchanges that did not improve the situation, the fourth proving sometimes worse than the third!)
Wish things will be easier with cooked ROM...
meerau if interested in changing ROM, PM me and I'll help you.Je peux t'aider.
Hi guys I'm new here..just registered after spending most of last night reading ROM developments for the TG01 for the last 1 year or so. I gotta admit that instead of wanting to move away from TG01 (given all the difficulties and misadventures with the set..from other posters) I feel even more compelled to keep the one I recently purchased..crazy right!?!
Anyways I have some info and some questions..will start with the question:
1. I just purchased a TG01 (unbranded) from Italy. The set is running WM6.1 and is brand new..still in the box. I would like to change the ROM to English and the only reason for that is that I prefer english despite understanding both languages...other than that I have no desire to go further and install UI variations of other phones (HTC, etc) as I really see no point in creating problems for myself..what I gather from most posts is that alot of users apply mod's which temporarily seem fine and balanced BUT eventually lead to some sort of problem which is then modded thus solving the initial problem but creating a new one..so on and so forth until phone in many cases dies. (Comment: I am confused why many users flash their ROMS to English when they can't even speak or read English at a basic level?!? Once again I dont see the point..someone enlighten me ...ooops back to the question...So..is there any suggestion or help I can recieve in changing the ROM from Italian to English? Should I do this after the 6.5 upgrade in Italian or? Suggestions please.
2. Toshiba Asia recently started realeasing TG01 to certain Asian countries and one that may be of interest for a generic English Language ROM is Malaysia. I recently picked-up a TG01 in a store in Kuala Lumpur and it was a locally certified and guaranteed set with no 'Telcom Carrier Branding'. It was unlocked and not an import phone from other TG01 markets..and the ROM was in ENGLISH!! This TG01 came preinstalled with WM6.5 (not 6.1) but I had no intention of buying it as I already have the new italian set and more importantly it costs more than 500 Euros vs. the Italian one I bought for a net 287 Euros.
Maybe this can be a new and more reliable lead on how to get a generic ENG ROM instead of playing doctor frankenstein with 'carrier branded' ROMS in English.
Looking forward to hearing your comments.
Ciao
