Yesterday, while trying to help someone with their pda, I unticked all my 3rd party today plug-ins, and went back to the 'ordinary' plug-ins supplied, ie, owner, date, calendar, tasks etc etc.
To my surprise, there were 2 overdue tasks showing. So, I went to the native tasks app, and couldn't see any. I played around with all the filters/views etc etc, and there were no overdue tasks! I decided to sync to desktop outlook, as usual, and have a look at the tasks there. Nope, this exactly mirrored what I have in my tasks application.
The numbers don't correlate either.
eg,
In my tasks folder I have 13 tasks, 4 high priority, 4 normal, 5 low. (none overdue).
the native tasks today plug-in shows:
12 Active tasks
4 high priority
2 overdue
The native tasks application shows 13 tasks, just as expected.
I think that the difference between the 12 and 13 is one task which technically is not 'active' yet, but what worries me is the 2 overdue which are goodness knows what.
Can anyone explain this, and does anyone know of a remedy (apart from hard reset)?
thanks
I don't want to seem dismissive but look what I got one day:

Someone here commented that I must work for the same company he does!
Apologies - I know it does not help you.

I think you should get started on the 144 high priority ones.
SK tools thinks I have no overdue tasks too!

From when I press the hardware e.mail button on my TyTN, it takes a good 10 seconds before the inbox will show. This is very frustrating. Is it normal to do this? Or is there a weird setting that I need to adjust to optimize my inboxes. They're not really that full or anything. It does it for all my inboxes regardless if it's my pop3, sms, text, etc....
Anyone? How long does it take for your inbox to show up on screen after you press the hardware e.mail button? Instant? 1 second? Mine takes 10+ seconds... this can't be normal.

Finally a reply. Thank you.
So now I know there's something wrong with mine.... is this somewhat of a common problem?
Mine is almost instant as well. Without knowing much about your specific OS, Etc, I would recommend that you, like with any other computer, make sure there are no viruses onboard, and also defrag as first steps
about 2 seconds on a Rogers tytn with a lot of mail and contacts in the databases.
If you're having performance issues, I recommend a PIM backup, hard-reset and re-install of desired software.
It almost doubled my machine's speed and freed up a lot of ram.
I've done a hard reset already and it continues.
I've done an antivirus scan. All is clean.
It's not the hardware key specifically, if I launch the program from the programs menu, it is still excessively slow to launch.

Just realised there's not much info floating around here about the awesome Remember The Milk task syncing app - I consider it a "must have" app for all my devices.
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/milksync/windowsmobile/
Basically it syncs your device task list with their online website, allowing you to keep track of things you need to do from any PC anywhere. The actual website is smooth web 2.0 goodness. Its free for 15 days and they then require you to upgrade to the pro version for $15 with additional features, but the free version is just fine (and I guess you can keep registering new accounts once the trial expires).
The app can be set to sync over-the-air manually or when cradled - or every 5/10/x minutes, so you don't have to worry about hidden data usage, and can be configured for 1 or 2-way syncing. Also, it doesn't mess up anything when you use the regular WM6 ActiveSync. The only catch is no proxy support.

PS. I dont work for them or anything, I just think its a kickass system.
They also have a ff plugin to integrate RTM with GMail.
I use GMail IMAP, RTM(MilkSync, FF Plugin, http://code.google.com/p/rememberthemoof/), and OggSync(calendar+contacts).
I wish they could develop a nice slick Windows Mobile app to use with the RTM service, just like they've recently done with the iPhone app.
My wife wants to make a shopping list using her laptop and then be able to send that list to her phone so that she can check off items as she gets them at the store. I've tried looking and there are a ton of really nice shopping list apps, but she wants to type up the list on the pc not on the phone. Does anyone know of anything like that?
Even a simple thing like typing up a document in google docs and then having that sync would be ok, it would just be nice if there was a check off option. I have ColorNote that can make check lists and I really like it, but my lists are not as long as hers since she is the one that does all the grocery shopping.
The one I really like is http://www.ourgroceries.com/overview. It's a free app. It works on many different platforms including web. You just create your own List and you can then share it with anyone.

I like TurboList.
It doesn't sync like you want.
BUT It has Voice Input that is DEAD ON.
I have a thick country accent and voice input usually doesn't work for me at all. This one works great.
And you can check stuff off the list as you get it.
That OurGroceries one looks like exactly what she is looking for! Thanks a ton!
No Problem
http://rememberthemilk.com
and then get the app astrid to sync with remember the milk.
remember the milk is more of a task list but I see no reason you can't use it as a shopping list. If you both got separate accounts then there is a way to send tasks to each other.
My girlfriend and I use cloudlist to sync our shopping lists. It updates real time and you can allow others to add to the list (or not).

Another vote for OurGroceries. We love it. Even some mild entertainment when you know your wife is at the store, you can tell where she is just by what items she's checking off!
Without Touchscreen or anything. At least not yet.
What I did? After verifying I got an updated backup on my server, I just installed Windows 8 ON TOP of my main office PC. Where I edit pictures and videos, install everything for testing, work on word processors, spreadsheets and overall browsing.
Kies isn't working though. Not sure why. However drivers for the devices are being downloaded easily. I just rooted and used ODIN 1.85 to flash CVM on my Galaxy Tab 7.7 and I can attest it worked.
First impressions? Nothing's changed much. All the hype and hysteria about the interface is just that, hysteria. You may miss the start menu at first, but after you pin a couple of apps, you're good. On the second screen, showing the desktop 100% of the time (there's no way around this, to show the Metro UI in both screens), you have a list of all pinned apps, the same ones I had on my Win7. All my settings were preserved btw, no loss. Steam seems to be working, Photoshop, except for Kies, everything worked well so far.
I expect some problems, but I plan to launch a VM to run older, crappy apps I may need.
I spend my days working on my main screen and my portrait 19" is just showing Metro goodness. Or not, sometimes both show desktop and frankly, I don't care one way or the other. If I want the metro apps, it's easy enough to show and hide, so I'm not complaining.

Hello everybody,
I've looked everywhere on the web for an explanation of what has been happening since long time ... but I have not found anything.
Why I find into processes that "suck up" battery always "Multimedia" on top level?
I do not understand what could depend on .... moreover the percentage increases more and more during the days.

In the second picture there are 3 packages inside. I exclude the first two because I'm not downloading anything but I think it may depend on "Archivio multimediale".
tempFileForShare1.jpg
I have a 32 GB MicroSD with stored music, videos and photos (many) but I thought that once phone start and it runs "multimedia scan" in background should no longer affect the battery consumption after it will be finished.
Please give me an explanation.
Thank you!
I woke up this morning to the same exact problem.
My phone went from fully charged down to 15% while I was sleeping in a little extra. 3 hours and it was dead.
Since then I have installed a few items. Particularly the Apollo app that CM makes you use.
The multi media crap has so far stopped.

Hi, I don't know the App to which you refer. Could you explain me better?
Thank you
