All,
I have had my unlocked MDA for about 8 months now. Internet, email, text messages all work perfectly but I still cannot get MMS to work. I still have the AT&T Wireless sim and was wondering what the damn MMS Settings were. I have tried the ones on cingular.com under the siemens sx66 phone but that does not seem to work. The weird thing is, that i can see the messages hit my phone, but they do not download the full content and I cannot send anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how is that supposed to help when its all about sprint pcs?
sorry...copy/paste mistake to wrong page...
try this...
MMSC Address: http://mmsc.mobile.attwireless.net
Data Connection: The Internet
Gateway: WAP 1.0 Gateway
IP Address: 10.250.250.100
Port: 9201
Got it to work this morning with a little tinkering around. Settings I used were
Gateway: 10.250.250.54
Port Number:8080
Server Address: http://mmsc.mobile.attwireless.net
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, the only thing that didnt work was the gateway, so i just plugged in my proxy ip and port and it worked.

I just got a new unlocked T-mobile branded JasJar this morning, and when i inserted the SIM card (US t-Mobile Voice and GPRS) the GPRS settings were blank. now, i've used this SIM in a pocketpc phone edition, and a smartphone - and i never had to set trhe GPRS settings they were setup by the SIM. also i have used the smartphone as a bluetooth modem with an iPAQ and all i had to set on the iPAQ was the APN (internet2.voicestream.com). unfortunately the same doesn't seem to work with the JasJar. i configured a GPRS setting, and set rhe APN to internet2.voicestream, left the user/password blank like other instances; but it didn't work
i've searched for the info, but all i find is U.K t-mobile settings. and it seems to be a JasJar specific problem since i have't had it on other devices. the lack of posts suggest i'm doing something stupid... but i don't know what it is
Any help appreciated!
Thanks!
Sky
ok i was being a bonehead i used the WORK connection instead of the internet connection.
Thanks!
Sky
Here are the settings for MMS on the T-Mobile USA network...
First you have to be on the WAP network for T-Mobile...the settings for that are as follows:
Name: T-Mobile WAP
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point name: wap.voicestream.com
User name: leave blank
Password: leave blank
Domain: leave blank
Now to the MMS settings:
Server Name: T-Mobile USA
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port Number: 9201
Server Address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect Via: My ISP
Sending Size Limitation: 250K
WAP Version: WAP 1.2
i recently just found out you could use the normal data plans instead of the PDA connect ones but now after ive changed it my internet isnt working at all
i keep getting the "cannot connect" window
is there something i was suppose to do or?
please help
make sure your connection settings are correct.
Should be
Cellular Line GPRS
APN: wap.cingular
User: [email protected]
Pass: CINGULAR1
it may previously been set to isp.cingular
I took PDA connect off yesturday and switched to Media Max 200 with no problems.
I have the new Att Released Rom, so all my settings default to WAP now.
PDA Connect data plan allows you to connect to the internet without going through Cingulars proxy
chances are your still setup to not go through their proxy
im goin off memory, but i believe settings go as follows:
AP: wap.cingular
USERNAME: [email protected]
PASSWORD: CINGULAR1
now heres the difference
Advanced:
This connection connects to the internet -- Check
This connection uses a proxy to connect to the internet -- Check
Proxy Name: wireless.cingular.com
All of that IS Case-Sensitive
hope it works for ya
::EDIT:: Never mind, I should have did a little more searching before posting. My fault!
Does anyone have any experiance in using P3600 in USA with T-Mobile? In particular, I am having hard time getting to Internet and receiving MMS messages.
Because of the specifics of the USA cell and PDA market, getting a PDA working with a service provider (if you don't buy it from the service provider itself) can be tough. I have set up my Trinity to connect to EDGE, it shows the "E" on the top of the bars, but it still has a hard time browsing the Internet. There is not much help offered on their website, so I was hoping may be someone has had an experience setting it for T-Mobile.
Any help would be appreciated.
Nerses
you'll probably have to call T-Mobile and get their MMS and internet settings, or it might be somewhere on their website.
I have set it according to their instructions here: http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm21625.htm?
That shows my phone connected to EDGE by I am still not able to access the Internet.
I've just spent a week in the USA with my Orange M700 - everything worked fine, probably gonna have some horrible roaming bills though as it's still on the original orange account
I'm in the US on T-Mobile, no problem with Internet. The only thing I had to do was enter the server address -- internet2.voicestream.com, and all works.
MMS has been a bit more trying. I do get inbound notifications of MMS coming in, but haven't played around with it enough to get it working. Then again, I don't use MMS so it hasn't been a pressing issue. I'll play with it tomorrow and see what I get.
dada21,
Connecting to internet2.voicestream.com helped! Thank you.
On T-Mobile website they were suggesting connecting to wap.voicestream.com and using a proxy server. But once I took out the proxy server and used the server you suggested it worked fine.
With the MMS messages- yes, I get only the inbound notifications too. Don't get the actual message.
Glad internet2 worked for you.
Getting MMS working was a *****. Here's what I did:
I set up a new connection under "Work" to wap.voicestream.com
Under Messaging, MMS, settings:
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port: 9201
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: Work
Sending size limitation: 248K
WAP version: WAP 1.2
I received MMS perfectly but didn't test sending yet.
Let us know how it works for you.

I have been trying to solve this problem for ages now and i just cant seem to get GPRS working on pay as you go on o2. i am desperatly seeking for the help of anybody to fix this problem. Also if GPRS doesnt work is there any other connections you can use (not including WiFi), is there no way to get a different connection Eg, edge, dail up ect
thanks Dean
I used the settings on this site to set up my XDA on Orange PAYG, they also list O2 settings.

Maybe they don't do GPRS on PAYG, but that would surprise me. It may be worth posting up the connection details you have set and see if anyone can spot a problem.
